One of Sochan's most notable features is his hair color, on the team's official account on X, formerly Twitter, a photo of him was posted with New York Knicks colors on his head. The photo also contained a quote that read, "I'm extremely excited to stay here and grow with the city and the team."

Since Sochan's playing time with the Spurs was limited this season, his release could mark a fresh start with the team, as he talked about choosing New York in his introductory press conference on Wednesday.
“New York was always on top,” Sochan said, via SNY. "I had really refreshing and great conversations with the organization, front office and coaches. I was always excited about this opportunity."

While the Knicks try to make a championship push this season, Sochan hopes he can contribute in any way he can, but playing time just won't be given. He talked about choosing New York for its depth and how he is confident in himself to carve out a role with the Knicks.
"One of the reasons why I chose New York is because it's a very deep roster with very talented players," Sochan said Wednesday. “I still feel like I'm young, so being around players who have established themselves and done a lot in this league is a crazy opportunity for me.”
Sochan further said, "I have confidence in myself and I believe that I can perform well on the court." "But I look at it as the bigger picture. I feel like I can be a part of it and carry on as normal."
At any rate, it remains to be seen what Sochan's role will be as the Knicks season progresses this year.
