Liverpool are talking to Stade Rennais over the situation with Jeremy Jacket amid fears he will need surgery on a shoulder injury.
This is according to Ouest France. The French newspaper reports that Jacquet's condition is still surrounded by 'uncertainty' after dislocating his shoulder in early February.
The fear is that the 20-year-old could miss the rest of the season due to injury. Since the injury on January 7th'Uncertainty has surrounded' which has become a 'thorny issue'. There has certainly been minimal communication from Stade Rennais.
"I don't know exactly yet," manager Frank Hise said Thursday.
"Jeremy is going through treatment, going through rehab, working out in the gym, that's where we are right now..."
Liverpool questions about surgery
Jacquet has yet to undergo surgery, and it is unclear whether she will undergo surgery or not. Rumors have suggested that he may do so, but no one is confirming it. If he did go under the knife, the chances of seeing him again this season would be 'extremely slim'.
The situation is more unusual because of Liverpool. Jackett signed for the Reds in late January for a fee in excess of €70m. His contract will not start at Anfield before January 1scheduled tribe. They even overtook PSG for the transfer.
One of the reasons Liverpool made this deal was to secure the player's future and allow him to focus on playing in the second half of the season. Now this is not happening.
liverpool in touch
They are 'logically' involved given the amounts involved. In fact, he may be a major player in the story.
The Reds management hopes to integrate Jacquet into pre-season training as smoothly and quickly as possible. They are now in close contact with Stade Rennais over the situation.
The fear is that when such weakness is present, the risk of recurrence increases manifold. Surgery can help prevent this. Jacquet, for his part, wanted to play as much as possible. Now he may find himself torn between that desire and the desire to be ready for Liverpool.
