That miss allowed him to get the ball back and shoot the floater, tying the game and sending it into overtime.
The Nuggets lost the game with a Luka Doncic game-winner, and now they do not have a tiebreaker against the Lakers. This makes a lot of sense at the position, especially since everyone in the Western Conference is tight.
The Nuggets still have plenty of time to make up some ground, but they need to start piling up wins before other teams overtake them.
Plus, no matter where the Nuggets finish, they will be a tough matchup for anyone because of Nikola Jokic's strength and his dominance.
