Aston Villa's Youri Tielemans wants to travel to the United States with Belgium during the March international break.
The De Rode Duivels will face the United States and Mexico in two friendlies in the coming weeks. Belgium manager Rudy Garcia will announce his squad this week and the Aston Villa star will not be involved but still wants to make the trip.
The midfielder has been out of action since January due to an ankle injury.
He last made an appearance for the Premier League team in a 2–0 win over Newcastle United. He suffered an injury during the clash at St James' Park and is yet to return to the field.
This is his second injury blow this season. tielemans shin hurt in September and spent almost two months ashore. He regained full fitness before the November international break and suffered another setback in January.
Tielemans wants to join the Belgium team

Although he won't be on the pitch, the former Leicester City player wants to do so 'Contribute to team spirit'.
Aston Villa couldn't be happier
The Belgium international has made 17 Premier League appearances this season, including 15 appearances.
He created four big chances for Aston Villa. Per game, Tielemans makes 1.5 key passes, makes 2.2 tackles, has an 84% accurate pass percentage and wins 5.1 duels.
Since November, Aston Villa have lost two league matches when the midfielder was on the pitch. Following his injury, the Villans picked up one win and lost their last three league games. In recent results the English club has slipped to fourth place.
These are some of the statistics that highlight his importance to Unai Emery's side. Aston Villa will want Tielemans to focus solely on returning to his club and the trip to America may not help that.
