Leeds United return for Morita
The 30-year-old is now back on the Premier League team's agenda, and the latter could take advantage of his contract situation.
Last summer, the Whites expressed keen interest but refused to meet the Lions' €10m price tag. There was a perception that the price was too high compared to the contract condition.
The Japan international, who turns 31 in May, has three months left on his contract. He has no plans to sign an extension and will leave Sporting as a free agent.
Leeds United are his 'likely destination' and could secure his services for free, a year after refusing to meet Sporting's demand.
He suffered injuries last season but has been fit since September. This is another factor that favors Daniel Farke's side signing him.
Morita's dream is to play in England and he can fulfill it by going to Elland Road. He was left out of the Japan squad for the upcoming international break, but managed to make it to the World Cup.
If this were to happen, Leeds United could potentially face competition from other clubs.
