On Thursday night, the New York Knicks will take the field for a road game against the Charlotte Hornets. This will be a big test for the Knicks against a Hornets team that has been one of the best teams in the league since the beginning of 2026.

The Knicks have several players listed on the injury report, including Miles McBride, who will be out until he recovers from surgery, but James L. According to Edwards III, he could return as soon as this weekend. Meanwhile, Landry Shamet will also miss the game due to a tibial plateau injury in his right knee.

Trey Jamison III, Dillon Jones, and Kevin McCullers Jr. are all questionable due to being in the G-League.

For the Hornets, Pat Connaughton is questionable with an illness.

The Knicks have been playing some solid basketball lately, with Karl-Anthony Towns looking more comfortable in Mike Brown's offensive system, and Jalen Brunson coming out of a brief shooting slump and returning to his All-Star form.

New York is currently third in the Eastern Conference, but not far behind the Boston Celtics for number two.

Meanwhile, the Hornets haven't been able to make much headway in the conference standings due to the hot streaks of some of the other teams in the East, but make no mistake, they have been playing some better basketball over the past few months, thanks in large part to the emergence of rookie star Kon Nueppel as well as LaMelo Ball being able to overcome his injury concerns and stay on the floor.

There is sure to be an electric crowd in Charlotte on Thursday night when the Knicks and Hornets tip off at 7:00 pm ET.
