There are only ten games left for the Carolina Hurricanes in the regular season as they face the New Jersey Devils to begin the first half of a back-to-back home set on Saturday evening.
The game is scheduled for 5:00 pm EDT.
In the Hurricanes' last game, they faced a goaltender in Jacob Dobbs of the Montreal Canadiens. Despite maintaining pressure and creating nearly 30 quality scoring chances on 44 shots on goal, the Hurricanes were only able to score two goals, and they lost 5–2. It was the most single-game saves by Dobbs in his NHL career. You can read the full analysis on that whole fiasco here.
Meanwhile, the Devils will come to Carolina riding a two-game winning streak. This will be their fourth and final clash with the Hurricanes this season, a series in which the Hurricanes have won all three so far, including a natural hat-trick from Andrei Svechnikov.
in the crease
During practice on Friday, Brandon Bussey had the starting crease and will likely get the start. He has played only one game against the Devils in his career. In that game, he helped the Hurricanes win 3–1. Bussey has a save percentage of .894 with a goals-against average of 2.47 in a 26-6-1 record.
Meanwhile, Jacob Markstrom is likely to get the start for the Devils. This season he has a save percentage of .884 with a goals-against average of 3.07 with a 22-16-1 record.

storm game notes
During practice on Friday, Shayne Gostisbehere returned to the ice, ditching the non-contact gear for standard. Head coach Rod Brind'Amour did not provide specifics when speaking to the media, but sounded optimistic.
If Gostisbehere does not play against the Devils, Mike Reilly will likely play in his place again.
After Saturday's 5 p.m. game, the Hurricanes will have to turn right around and play the Canadiens again 24 hours later in a back-to-back home set.
