Washington Capitals (38-28-9) Take a quick trip up I-95 on Thursday night. They head to Newark to face the New Jersey Devils (38-34-2) at the Prudential Center.

The puck drops at 7:30 pm ET.

The Capitals will play the first of seven matches in the month of April. The team currently sits in 12th place in the East, but are three points off a playoff spot.

The Capitals entered Thursday on a three-match winning streak, their third since late January. However, Washington must win with seven games remaining if it is to reach the playoffs.

The Capitals closed out the month of March with a 6-4 win over Philadelphia on Tuesday. Alex Ovechkin and Tom Wilson both reached milestones as they each recorded two goals.

Ovechkin's first tally gave him the 20th 30-goal season of his career, as he now has 928 total goals. Meanwhile, Wilson was playing in his 900th NHL game as his two long matches made his night even more memorable.

The Capitals also got on the power play twice thanks to Jacob Chirkrun and Ryan Leonard. Pierre-Luc Dubois also finished the night with three assists, including two on the man advantage.

Meanwhile, New Jersey lost its first two games after the Olympic break, but has since gone 10-5-0. The Devils are averaging 3.73 goals per game, the fourth-best rate in the NHL.

New Jersey center Jack Hughes is on a high after winning gold for Team USA in Milan. He has 27 points (10 goals, 17 assists) since the break, which ties him for fourth in the NHL.
