While this would be a huge move for Sunderland, it would also be 'excellent news' for NEC Nijmegen.
This is because he negotiated a 'substantial' sell clause during transfer talks with Sunderland last summer. Reportedly, this clause entitles him to the full 10% of any profits Sunderland makes. /
Based on the figures mentioned, Sunderland will make a profit of €58.2m. NEC will then receive a further €5.82 million from the deal. But the profits don't stop here.
If Robinhood completes the transfer of €68.7m, NEC is also entitled to a solidarity contribution of the substantial amount of €3.09m. When combined with the proceeds from the initial sale, NEC's total earnings from Sunderland for the Roughs would amount to more than €19m.

The question is whether Sunderland will sell Robin Roughs this summer. Losing him after his impressive first season would be a huge blow.
But the prospect of making a big profit on a player who costs just over €10 million will be attractive to the Black Cats, who will likely look to spend big again this summer.
Either way, the NEC will keep a close eye. The Dutch club would stand to gain massively if Rolf leaves the Stadium of Light this summer.
