The New Jersey Devils (40-35-3, 83 points) will try to prevent the Pittsburgh Penguins (40-22-16) from making the Stanley Cup playoffs when the Metropolitan Division rivals face off at the Prudential Center on Thursday.

The Devils fell out of playoff contention with a 5-1 loss to the Philadelphia Flyers at the Rock on Tuesday. Still, New Jersey is 12-6-1 in their last 19 games.

The Penguins are 5-2 in their last seven games and have been dominant on offense. Pittsburgh has 36 goals in that span and has never scored fewer than three goals in any game.
