With Big E, Kingston and Woods won WWE tag team gold 12 times, including a 483-day reign as champions. Kingston and Big E had massive singles success while still together when they won the World Championship.
However, that era is officially over. According to reports from Fightful and BodySlam.net, both Kingston and Woods have "mutually decided to part ways with WWE." This suggests that neither man's contract had expired, and both of them may have requested their release from the company where they became future Hall of Famers.
Over the years, this pair's level of relevance hasn't been the same, and aside from the downside last year and their 12th title fight, the move makes sense for both sides. Being released leaves them free to do whatever they want outside the company, and letting them walk helps fuel rumors of WWE moving towards a younger roster.
Young Bucks vs New Day dream match in 2026?
Following their exit, the dream match wrestling fans have wanted for years is now a possibility: The New Day vs. The Young Bucks.
Long before AEW and while they were in NJPW, the Bucks and New Day had public moments together over their shared love of video games. However, because they were in rival promotions, no matches were even close to happening in recent years except for rumors of the Bucks joining WWE.
While reports have suggested that Tony Khan no longer wants to sign former WWE stars, it would be surprising if they are not brought to AEW. Signing a former WWE Champion and one of the greatest tag teams of all time so they can promote a big tag dream match seems too good to resist for die-hard wrestling fan Khan.
