At the beginning of the offseason, it seemed like the Steelers organization and head coach Mike McCarthy were willing to be patient with Rodgers. The understanding was that the future Hall of Famer would take some time off this offseason and eventually return to the team.

That means Pittsburgh can match any offer he gets, and he can only sign with Pittsburgh when NFL training camps start this summer.

If Rodgers decides to retire or the team also moves on from him, it stands to reason that Mason Rudolph will be the Steelers starting quarterback in Week 1, with Drew Allar and Will Howard also taking the field in 2026.
