If football fans have learned one thing about Los Angeles Rams general manager Les Snead, it's that he's not afraid to make a big move. The latest evidence came on the first night of the 2026 NFL Draft, when the Rams surprised everyone by taking Alabama quarterback Ty Simpson with the 13th overall pick in the first round.
Simpson was projected as a second-day draft pick, but as they say, it just takes a team to believe in his abilities. This year, it was Ram.
While the decision to draft Simpson was clearly a move for the future, some believe the Rams are eyeing a trade that could solidify their status as a Super Bowl contender this season.

"I'll also keep an eye on Max Crosby," Atkins wrote. "They seem to have straightened things out with the Las Vegas Raiders after the trade reversal with the Baltimore Ravens, but the organization's outlook could change if the Raiders have another tough start to the season."
Of course, the Las Vegas Raiders had already agreed to trade him once. Can they do it again? It certainly can't be ruled out, especially if first-year head coach Clint Kubiak is off to a rough start.
While the idea of adding the five-time Pro Bowl sack artist is exciting, Atkins believes any trade discussions are unlikely to accelerate until October. Only then will everyone have a better understanding of their direction.
