Phoenix Suns all-time leading franchise scorer Devin Booker has been one of the most active Nike Basketball athletes to make a splash wearing his own player-exclusive sneakers on the court. At each game, Booker wears a new signature shoe tailored to his tastes and occasion, which is sometimes released to the public and at times remains exclusive to Booker. Recently, he wore his Nike Book 2 sneakers in a Texas Longhorns-inspired colorway.

Following the massive success of the Nike Book 1, which debuted in early 2024, it was only a matter of time before Booker and Nike teamed up for a signature follow-up sneaker. Leaks finally surfaced and the Nike Book 2 was revealed, taking serious inspiration from the classic Nike Air Spiridon running shoes.
The Suns had visited the San Antonio Spurs just days earlier to renew their rivalry from the 1990s. Booker paid tribute to the city of Austin, Texas, and the University of Texas Longhorns by wearing the burnt-orange colorway of his signature sneakers for the first time. While Phoenix lost the game 121–94, Booker was easily wearing the cleanest shoes on the court.

Debuting the new sneakers, we see a bright orange Nike Swoosh as the hallmark detail, which plays into the Texas Longhorns theme and offers a perfect match for the Suns' color scheme. The Spyridon-inspired mesh upper comes in neutral white and black to further accentuate the orange Swoosh. The shoe is based around a black and white midsole and outsole, making it one of the cleanest Book 2 PEs we’ve seen recently.
Although there's no word of an official release behind this special PE, fans shouldn't be surprised if this remains an exclusive to Booker's growing collection. However, there have been a few times that one of his PEs has come out as a public release, so there's always a chance to see Booker's shoes on retailers' shelves.
