Philadelphia Eagles considering hiring Super Bowl-winning offensive coordinator

Philadelphia Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni knows what a Super Bowl team looks like. He had not played the previous season in Philadelphia, so once the offseason arrived, the Eagles coach knew where to make changes.

One of the most notable moves so far was the firing of offensive coordinator/playcaller Kevin Pattullo. He has since been replaced by former NFL QB Sean Mannion, who served as the quarterbacks coach of the Green Bay Packers. Yet, like Pattullo, he has no previous experience as an offensive coordinator or playcaller.

However, Coach Sirianni tried to hire someone who not only had experience in both roles, but also did so while winning a Super Bowl.

according to athleticDan Pompei, Coach Sirianni spoke with former Eagles offensive coordinator Frank Reich about the staff situation. Nevertheless, Reich opted for another job in Philadelphia and has since got another job as an offensive coordinator, this time with the New York Jets instead.

The 64-year-old Reich will now face a huge challenge, trying to fix the Jets' offense, which still doesn't know who will be their starting quarterback. Still, perhaps he preferred that scenario over Super Bowl expectations in Philadelphia behind Jalen Hurts, Saquon Barkley and AJ Brown.
