New Jersey Devils star Jack Hughes will appear in The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon With his brother Quinn Hughes and Women's Team USA Hockey captain Hillary Knight on Monday, March 2, 2026. The joint interview is based on both the men's and women's gold medal performances at the Milan Cortina Winter Olympics, where both teams defeated Canada in overtime to win the gold medal.
On Sunday, February 22, 2026, Hughes scored the decisive goal in a 2–1 overtime win in the men's gold-medal game. At 1:41 of the extra frame, he beat Canadian goaltender Jordan Binnington in the five-hole on Zach Werenski's cross-ice pass, securing Team USA's first men's Olympic hockey gold since 1980. Goaltender Connor Hellebuyck made 41 saves in the win. Hughes led Team USA in tournament goals (four) and played a key role after raising some doubts due to a poor 4 Nations face-off performance a year ago.
Upon his return to New Jersey, the Devils honored Hughes in a pregame ceremony at the Prudential Center before their first game.
"I'm very proud and I'm very pleased that the men's and women's USA hockey teams brought gold medals back to the United States," Hughes said during his pregame ceremony.
“You guys are making me emotional.”
tonight show The episode, airing at 11:35pm ET/PT on NBC (with streaming the next day on Peacock), will also include guests Nicole Kidman and Luke Thompson, as well as a cooking segment with chef Mario Carbone.
The Devils' first overall pick in the 2019 NHL Draft is seeing his stock rise from NHL star to international superstar.
"Obviously, it's been some of the best three days of my life," Hughes said Wednesday upon returning to the Devils after the Olympic break. I had a lot of fun with that group of guys, and I'm sure everyone on the team is probably wishing it was still going on, but it's good to get back into my routine and get back to work here.
