A new rumor has revealed that the New England Patriots made an unsuccessful offer to the Philadelphia Eagles for AJ Brown.
The Browns' future will be one of the biggest stories in the NFL this offseason. The receiver is a three-time Pro Bowler and can be a game breaker every week. However, in 2025, the 28-year-old did not hide his disappointment at how he was used in the offense. Creating a scenario where moving Brown would be in the best interest of the team.
Despite the damage he suffered to his reputation last season, several teams would be interested in acquiring his services. The one who has most often been linked to being a pass catcher is the Patriots. Well, it looks like New England recently made Philly an offer, and it apparently fell through.
AJ Brown stats: 78 catches, 1,003 yards, 7 touchdowns, 12.9 yards per catch
According to Philadelphia sports radio personality Anthony Gargano, he claims the Patriots offered first- and third-round picks for AJ Brown. However, he could not confirm whether it was in next month's NFL Draft or in a future year. If they are in this year's draft, there will be picks 31 and 95 overall.
Earlier this week, NFL Network's Mike Garafolo reported that the Eagles were looking for a Quinnen Williams-esque return in a potential trade for the Browns. The New York Jets received a 2026 second-round pick, a 2027 first-round pick and defensive tackle Mazzie Smith from the Dallas Cowboys for the four-time Pro Bowler before last season's trade deadline.
Various reports claim that multiple teams have inquired about trading for the star receiver. However, all indications are that none of them have prompted Eagles general manager Howie Roseman to seriously consider a trade.
