The Carolina Hurricanes will close out their Western Conference road trip on Saturday as they play the Calgary Flames for the final time of the regular season. The match comes one day after the trade deadline.
The game is scheduled to begin at 10 PM EST.
The Hurricanes were uncharacteristically quiet during the trade deadline and only traded for starter Nick Deslauriers at a fairly low price. Meanwhile, the flames were very active during and in the days leading up to Friday's frenzy.
Throughout the week, the organization parted ways with Jeremy Poirier, Mackenzie Weegar, Jacob Battaglia and Nazem Kadri, while they welcomed back Gavin White, Ollie Maatta, Jonathan Castagna, Ryan Strome, Brennan Othman, Victor Olofsson and unsigned prospect Maximilian Curran.
Saturday's game will undoubtedly see Brandon Bussey return to the net for the Hurricanes, just as Anderson played on Friday (and very well, if I might add). Bussey has a .901 save percentage with a goals-against average of 2.29 in a 25-3-1 record.
Meanwhile, the Flames will likely need Dustin Wolf to man the pipes as he will be the alternate goaltender. In his last game, Wolf was replaced by Devin Cooley after allowing four goals before the end of the first period. This season, Wolf has a save percentage of .898 with a goals-against average of 2.97 with a 17-23-3 record.

storm game notes
In the previous game against the Edmonton Oilers, the Hurricanes lost defenseman Shayne Gostisbeer to injury. Due to this, the Hurricanes have 13 forwards and five defensemen with both Jesperi Kotkaniemi and Mark Jankowski likely to play.
Logan Stankoven's line continues to be hot.
