Philadelphia Eagles ‘in contact’ about trading Pro Bowl pass-rusher

It feels like the Philadelphia Eagles acquire a new pass-rusher every offseason. This trend could continue in 2026 as the future of 37-year-old Brandon Graham is up in the air.

For now, Jelix Hunt and Nolan Smith Jr. are viewed as the Eagles' starting edge rushers, but that tandem has combined for just 9.5 sacks in 2025. Elite players outperform all of those numbers, and the Eagles are strongly considering a move for the Pro Bowl edge rusher.

according to athleticDiana Russini has been in contact with the Minnesota Vikings about trading Eagles edge rusher Jonathan Greenard. The Vikings, who are subject to cap constraints, are reportedly thinking about trading Greenard this offseason, and they are asking for at least a Day 2 pick in exchange for the 28-year-old.

The Eagles actually appear to be close to a trade, as they have been in contact with Greenard's agent about a potential new contract, should a trade occur. He reportedly wants a new deal after signing a four-year, $76 million contract with the Vikings as a free agent in 2024.

Meanwhile, the Vikings have no interest in giving Greenard a raise after recording just three sacks in 10 games last season. Thus, a trade seems like a very real possibility for a Vikings team that also has Andrew Van Ginkel and Dallas Turner at cornerback position.
