The Bella Twins (Nikki and Brie Bella) have returned to WWE for what they hope will be the final chapter of their career. On a new episode of The Nikki & Brie Show, the twins revealed that when Brie returns at the 2026 Royal Rumble, both have signed a two-year contract with WWE.
They are treating this run as their last before retirement, and this Friday on SmackDown, they will challenge Nia Jax and Lash Legend for the WWE Women's Tag Team Titles at the Lenovo Center in Raleigh, North Carolina. Nikki talked about the reality of how female performers are typically sent off in WWE, admitting that she and Brie are unlikely to get the kind of farewell tour that John Cena and AJ Styles received.
"For me, I don't think you and I will ever get that final retirement moment that John got and AJ Styles got," Nikki said. "Let's be honest, men get it, right? I don't think you and I will ever get that, but I would love to get that. Because I know the contract we signed, we signed a two-year deal starting at the Royal Rumble.
"And as for you and me, the conversation we've had and what I know about where I'm at, that's it. That's the end for me and for us."
The Bella Twins are extremely focused on tag team gold
Despite that uncertainty, Nikki made it clear that she wants this race to be defined by quality and memorable moments rather than simply going through the motions.
"I want to have some of my best matches. I want to have a lot of fun," she said. "But I want to have like an iconic moment where when it happens, I can look back and say, 'Hey, those were a great two years.' We did it. I don't want to go away with any 'ifs and buts'. I want to look back at these last two years that we've been building and be like, 'Hey, girl. We did it.”
Winning the WWE Women's Tag Team Titles tops the Bellas' list of accomplishments before she leaves. Both are already WWE Hall of Famers, but the tag titles represent one of the few remaining milestones they have yet to check off.
"It's like the last thing," Nikki said. "So when I'm 60, 70, 80, hopefully 90, sitting on the porch with Brie, tasting wine, making wine, we'll be like, 'Girl, we did that.' We evolved. We did this. Tag Team Champion. Like, this is how my brain works, this is how achievements are. But the danger, doing this as mothers. Nothing is better.”
