Houston Rockets star Kevin Durant was insightful about his thoughts as he nears retirement from his playing career in the NBA.

Durant has been in the NBA since 2007 and has shined as one of the greatest scorers the league has ever seen. Fast forward to the present time, he is succeeding as one of the top experienced scorers.

However, he also knows it won't last forever. He made an appearance on The Boardroom Podcast, realizing that his time in the league was closer to ending than he thought.

"There's going to come a time when it's not going to be my place. And we're getting close to it. And it's crazy to think like the season is ending, like right now it's March. April, the season is almost over in April. It's just like where I spent my whole life doing this every day. It's a part of my routine. I center my life around this, this is the game. So to know that hopefully I have a few years left to do this We have to start preparing for the next step,” Durant said at 21:04.

"For me, I've accepted that I'll never be able to fill that spot, and I wouldn't even call it the spot that was there. The thing that's satisfied me is the little things that come with it. Like just the camaraderie, the camaraderie, the people I've met. Just interacting with basketball fans from all over the world. That's the best part. I can still hang out. I can still go to the gym and shoot and have that routine when I'm done playing." Will be focused on basketball."
