The Washington Capitals (35-27-9) begin their final multi-game road trip of the 2025-26 season. Their first stop is the Midwest where they visit the St. Louis Blues (28-30-11) on Tuesday night at the Enterprise Center.

The puck drops at 8:00 PM ET.

The Capitals will play their final three games on the trip outside the Eastern Time Zone. The team enters Tuesday in St. Louis on a five-game point streak (3-0-2).

The Capitals recently concluded a four-game homestand with a 3-2 OT loss against Colorado, the NHL's top team. Washington took a 1–0 lead into the third period, but with the score tied 2–2, the game required OT.

Captain Alex Ovechkin made more history as he recorded the game-tying power-play goal in the third. The 40-year-old joins Wayne Gretzky as the only other players to score 1,000 combined goals in the regular season and playoffs.

Ovechkin's power-play goal marked the first goal recorded at home this season. Additionally, if you exclude goals scored in the playoffs, The Great 8 now has 923 career goals.

The Capitals still have a long way to go if they want to reach the playoffs this season. The team is currently six points behind the Islanders for the final wild card spot in the Eastern Conference.

Meanwhile, St. Louis is far behind in the Western Conference standings. The Blues are eight points behind Nashville for the second wild card spot.

St. Louis went from last October 9 to March 1 without earning more than two wins in its season opener. However, the Blues entered Tuesday with an impressive record of 7-1-2 in their last 10 games.
