Golden State Warriors wing Moses Moody has suffered a torn patellar tendon in his left knee, as first reported by ESPN's Shams Charania.
Moody will not only miss the remainder of the 2025-26 NBA season due to this serious injury, but he will now face a lengthy rehabilitation process to resume his career. The Warriors have not yet provided an official diagnosis for Moody's injury or a timeline for when he will ultimately undergo surgery.
The injury occurred while attempting a wide-open dunk off a steal in the fourth quarter of the Warriors' 137-131 overtime win over the Dallas Mavericks late Monday night. While planting and preparing to jump, Moody's left leg gave out, resulting in his body being thrown into the air and landing hard on the ground.
He immediately grabbed his left knee with a jerk as play continued for several seconds on the opposite side of the court. Medical personnel immediately came out of the court with a stretcher before helping Moody off the floor a few minutes later.
Moody is in the first year of a three-year, $37.5 million extension with the Warriors and was averaging career-highs in points (12.1), rebounds (3.3) and assists (1.6) while shooting a career-best 40.1 percent from 3-point range this season.
This is a developing story that will be updated soon.
