Aston Villa will face a battle to pry Alejandro Balde from Barcelona this summer, with the left-back not yet considering an exit.

A report in late March said that Aston VillaManchester City and Manchester United have already made contacts for the 22-year-old.
AS reports that Barcelona would benefit from the sale as one of his options to raise funds for his own business this summer. Transfermarkt currently values him at €55 million, which represents a huge profit for Barcelona on a homegrown player.
The newspaper then added that interest from the two Manchester clubs as well as Aston Villa has 'emerged' in recent days.
Barcelona is not pushing for a sale
Although the sale of Alejandro Balde would bring money to Barcelona, neither sporting director Deco nor manager Hansi Flick are pushing for a sale. They're both counting on him moving forward.
The player is also not ready to leave at this time. This could have changed if there was a change in plans regarding his role within the team.
In other words, if his role changes, he will consider his future. This season he has been in the first team 62% of the time in La Liga and featured in 58% of available minutes. He has similar numbers in the Champions League also.
These numbers don't suggest he's set in his plans, but it seems like everyone is happy with the situation at the moment. Whether that changes remains to be seen.
But his current deal expires in 2028, so Barcelona need to make a decision this summer. They won't want a valuable asset entering the final year of his deal next summer.
Despite Barcelona's claims to be against the sale, the story is being pursued in Spain. From the transfer precedent with the Catalan club, this would mean that they are open to offers but do not want it to be revealed as their consideration.
