Manchester City They could seal the signing of German wonderkid Kennett Eichhorn this summer if they are assured of a loan return to Hertha Berlin.
BILD, through its Berlin-Brandenburg edition, Today's report on the 16-year-old. The newspaper reveals how Manchester City could acquire upcoming German talent ahead of the competition.
manchester city interest
They report that Hertha expects Kennett Eichhorn to remain at the club for another year. However Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund, Bayer Leverkusen, Barcelona, Real Madrid, PSG and Manchester City are all interested in the player.
He could leave this summer due to a €12m release clause, further strengthening the hand of those interested.
But Hertha has not given up. They want to convince the young player to stay where he is with guaranteed playing time.
Sports director Benjamin Weber has now made this clear publicly. When asked about the theme, he said, "Spending time with us. Having that security at a young age. Time to grow. That's what we can offer."
The plan being made is to sell Eichhorn now and then loan him out for a year. Borussia Dortmund are currently at the front of the queue and have met with their agents.
Weber said, "No decision has been made yet. We have been in contact with Kenny's parents. We will do everything in our power to convince him to stay here for another year."
Debt is not a problem for Manchester City
Then again, Manchester City would like to make their move as soon as possible. Reports have credited him with interest for months. Manchester United are also believed to be keen.
Loaning Kennett Eichhorn back to the German club wouldn't exactly be a huge blow for them. In fact, this is something he has done regularly with brilliance.
Savinho spent time across Europe before joining Pep Guardiola's team. Vitor Reis is currently at Verona and thriving. He is expected to return to the Etihad next season.
Then again, probably unlike some of the other contenders, he wouldn't be too bothered by such an idea. At €12 million, this is a bargain worth presenting soon.
