Italian journalists insist that no further progress has been made from those initial talks. According to their information, incoming manager Marco Rose will have his say on a possible transfer.
He is set to replace Andoni Ierola at the end of the season. And there is every possibility that he may decide to give Julio Soler a bigger chance next season. The Argentine has made only six Premier League appearances this season.
But when it comes to players, a change of manager can often lead to a change of plans. Thus, any upcoming transfer business appears to be on hold until Marco Rose can assess the squad he will inherit.
Nicolo Fortini is the left-back, so will come into the team to compete with summer signing Ariane Traffert. The 24-year-old has been a regular this season, playing 99% of available minutes in the Premier League and playing in the starting 11 100% of the time.
Marco Rose's Choice
It seems that Bournemouth now want to ensure that there are enough options in the team and Fortini could be that man.
However, he has only played 16% of his available minutes in Serie A this season. That number increased to 53% in the Conference League, which lasted nine games.
But it seems Bournemouth have taken notice somehow. And there have been preliminary talks about a possible move to the south coast this summer.
It appears any final decision will be up to Marco Rose. Bournemouth plan to give him time to make his decision on the team he inherits from Irola before approving or blocking any transfer moves.
