Fabio Vieira has spent the season on loan with Hamburg from Arsenal, after falling down the ranks at the Emirates.
He has enjoyed a spell with the Bundesliga side this season, scoring seven goals and five assists in 29 games. Additionally, he has also been seen playing in 77% of the available minutes.
Both he and the midfielder would like to continue their relationship, but crossing this line will not be easy.
The loan deal includes a €22m option to sign Vieira on a permanent basis. But it is already clear that HSV will not pay that figure.

Further negotiations will be required with Arsenal. They are hoping the Gunners will approve a deal 'for a fraction' of the previously agreed €22m. Whether this is plausible remains to be seen.
Prima facie, this seems unlikely at this time. A BILD report on Thursday reported Fabio Vieira's agent is already making him offers this summer.
That report states that the agent and Arsenal are hoping to receive a better offer for the midfielder in the coming weeks and months.
His agency, Gestifute, has already offered him to companies such as Bayer Leverkusen and VfB Stuttgart. They are both competing in Europe next season.
They could offer more money than Hamburg, which would make matters even more complicated for them. At this point, their hopes of keeping Vieira until the end of the season seem slim. But the longer the conversation continues, the more it can escalate.
