Serhou Guerassi has been on the agenda of several Middle East clubs, but the France-born Guinea international is in favor of staying in Europe.
The Saudi transfer window opens on 22 July, while the European window opens much earlier. This allows his European supporters to plan well in advance and act quickly.
This is also another factor due to which the player would prefer another club in Europe rather than Saudi.
Unai Emery's side and Fener are now the top prospects, meaning these two clubs are leading the race to sign him.
It will not be easy for the Villans or any other club to sign Guirassy as the Bundesliga side intend to keep him. At least, that's what Borussia Dortmund sporting director Lars Ricken said recently.
"We have no intention of letting him go. He has demonstrated his importance to Borussia Dortmund impressively over the past two seasons." He said.
It remains to be seen whether this is BVB's actual stance or a strategy to get a better deal.
