UK press linked nottingham forest A move and initial approaches for Lucas Bergvall have now been made.
The Swedish player is on his way out of Tottenham and is believed to be unhappy with life at the club. His development has not gone according to plan, as Bergvall has often been troubled by injuries.
In April, sports witness The midfielder's picture covers how Chelsea and Aston Villa are. Tottenham had a different attitude then but now they are ready for sale.
With Elliot Anderson leaving Nottingham Forest, the City Ground club have made an initial offer for the young midfielder.
Bergvall's value is high
Gianluca Di Marzio spoke to the Tuttomercatoweb podcast. He revealed Napoli's interest in the Tottenham talent but also made it clear that other clubs are also hovering around.
The journalist clarified the situation – through footballnapoli24: : “Bergvall, a Tottenham player who will probably get less playing time with all those signings, is working his way out of the squad.
"He's a player you think: 'I'll go there, maybe I'll take him on loan, offer €30m, offer €35m and they'll give him to me,' but Napoli, who are among the most interested teams in Italy, have tried to understand and have thought that maybe, at the most, they can get him into the squad for €40m."
It doesn't end there, as Di Marzio believes that Nottingham Forest have made an initial offer. But Tottenham have rejected it.
"Instead, Tottenham recently rejected €50m from an English club, possibly Nottingham Forest. And I don't think they will go below that range. It will always take €50m or more."
England's chances will remain
The Italian press has been attentive to the 20-year-old, but his price to Serie A teams may already be low. They usually do not overpay players until they have proven themselves consistently.
Bergvall doesn't fall into that category, he has only shown glimpses of his abilities.
That's why Nottingham Forest should still be in the driving seat for Sweden. They made a huge sum from the sale of Andersen and Bergvall feels like a natural replacement.
Another target of Davide Fratesi is an advanced midfielder. Bergvall is much better at playing from deep and is also smaller than the Italian.
