Luka Doncic’s performance for Rockets leads to unprecedented 7-game run

The Los Angeles Lakers continued their momentum and defeated the Houston Rockets 124-116, as Luka Doncic once again took control of the night. In the process, he delivered a near triple-double with 40 points, nine rebounds and 10 assists. This wasn’t just another strong night. Instead, it felt as if something rare was unfolding in real time.

Doncic controlled the pace from the beginning. He attacked mismatches, created space and punished every defensive lapse that Houston showed. At times the Rockets remained within reach and continued to apply pressure. He increased the speed and tested Los Angeles. However, the Lakers responded every time. Calm. accurate. Under control. As a result, Doncic made sure the momentum never slipped.

According to OptaSTATS, the race has now reached historic territory. Notably, Doncic is the first player in NBA history to record at least 250 points, 50 rebounds, 50 assists and 25 threes in a seven-game span while going undefeated. The numbers are clear. However, sustainability stands out even more. Night after night, the production continues. In turn, the impact never diminishes.

Lakers looking for identity behind Luka Doncic

This latest Lakers-Rockets clash showed the full picture. From the start, Doncic shot 12 of 25 from the field and 7 of 17 from deep. As a result, he remained efficient when needed and explosive when needed. Furthermore, he read and adjusted every coverage without hesitation. Houston tried several looks. However, none lasted long.

More importantly, the Lakers are evolving. For one, the vacancy is more intense. Besides, the ball moves faster. As a result, confidence appears on every asset. It is no longer just about speed. Instead, this structure is taking shape.

And now, the big question arises. If Luka Doncic is already making history on this field, what happens when the stakes rise and the lights get even brighter?

Norman Powell could return after 7-game injury layoff

Miami Heat star Bam Adebayo looked to build on that historic performance and lead the team to victory after he scored 83 points against the Washington Wizards on Tuesday night. Since the Heat captain’s 83-point night led to an inspiring 112-105 win over the Milwaukee Bucks on Thursday, the team is hoping for the same against the Orlando Magic on Friday night, with the possible return of Norman Powell.

Miami’s injury report released Friday showed Powell has been upgraded to “questionable” with a right groin strain that has kept him out the past seven games. As much as it was a familiar sight to see Powell go out immediately, it’s an encouraging sight to see some hope from the team that the first-time All-Star could make his return.

Norman Powell was labeled “week-to-week” by the Heat

Powell never set a timetable for his return, he was labeled “week-to-week” by the team, with the Heat being cautious about the 32-year-old’s health. Miami head coach Erik Spoelstra last spoke about Powell before the team’s 121-110 win over the Detroit Pistons, saying he was putting more effort into his recovery.

There’s no denying how important Powell has been to the Heat this season in his first year with the team, as he leads the team with 22.5 points per game on 47.3 shooting from the field and 39 percent shooting from beyond the arc. Earning his first All-Star award, he was huge in becoming the main offensive weapon alongside Adebayo while Tyler Herro missed a portion of the time.

Speaking of which, Herro is also questionable to play against the Magic on Saturday due to quadriceps pain that has caused him to miss the last two games. Andrew Wiggins and Nikola Jovic are out with toe and back injuries respectively.

It remains to be seen what the final situation is for Powell and Herro.

Dyson Daniels’ 7-game hot streak is the first of its kind in NBA history

Bam Adebayo’s 83-point night is making all the headlines in the sports world right now, but the Atlanta Hawks have been quietly taking care of business on their own. On Tuesday night, the Hawks picked up their seventh consecutive win, stopping the Dallas Mavericks on their way to a 124-112 victory.

The Hawks are turning a corner, and they remain within striking distance of a full playoff spot in the East. One of the factors that has been energizing the Hawks lately has been the excellent play of Dyson Daniels. Daniels once again filled the stat sheet, recording 14 points, seven rebounds, 10 assists and three steals in the win against the Mavericks.

In doing so, Daniels became the first player in NBA history to record at least 80 points, 50 rebounds and 50 assists while recording five or fewer turnovers in a seven-game span, according to Hawks PR on

While most of the fanfare for the Hawks has fallen on Jalen Johnson and Nickell Alexander-Walker following Trae Young’s departure, Daniels has also expanded his offensive game, taking on more responsibilities and thriving as a result.

His three-point shooting may be off, but the rest of his game has improved by leaps and bounds.

At 34-31, the Hawks are just 2.5 games behind sixth place in the East, which is currently owned by the Miami Heat. The Hawks have a chance to extend their winning streak over the next few games as they face the Brooklyn Nets and Milwaukee Bucks in back-to-back games.

After that, they will face the Orlando Magic in a game that could have direct implications. For now, Atlanta will take one game at a time.
