Christian Wood calls it ‘accidental’ after seeing jersey

It’s fair to say that Christian Wood didn’t have the best career in the NBA. However, even making it in arguably the toughest league in the world requires a lot of talent and consistent work, and while Wood last played in the NBA for the Los Angeles Lakers during the 2023-24 season, he still made an impact during his eight years in the league.

The 30-year-old told exactly the same thing to an ex user when he was trolled by a fan after he was seen wearing his jersey at an event. Wood wore number 35 throughout his career, the fan in question was wearing a Houston Rockets jersey.

The user initially wrote on the

However, Wood quickly hit back at the slight, even calling the original poster “casual.”

“Why is this crazy? I was tough, especially on the Rockets.. casual.. respect for the brother,” Wood wrote, apparently demanding more respect for his accomplishments in the league.

And this seems appropriate. Not many players are able to average 20 points per game over an entire season, and while Wood only did so once, he consistently proved his ability as a lethal scorer, especially during his two seasons with the Rockets.

During that time, Wood averaged 19.1 points, 9.9 rebounds and 2.1 assists per game, while shooting 50.1% overall and 38.4% from three-point field. And while he was often criticized for his defensive work, his ability on the other end of the court was never in doubt, and deserves more respect from fans.

Of course, the player himself is well aware of this fact and was quick to hit back on social media.
