Andre Drummond heavily fined for ‘offensive gesture’ vs. Kings

The NBA has fined Philadelphia 76ers center Andre Drummond $25,000 following an incident during Thursday night’s 139-118 win over the Sacramento Kings, according to a report.

ClutchPoints NBA insider Brett Siegel shared the update Saturday on X, formerly known as Twitter.

“76ers center Andre Drummond has been fined $25,000 for making an offensive gesture on the field of play against the Kings.”

The league has not publicly disclosed additional details regarding the specific gesture, but the penalty has been added to the disciplinary actions given for conduct on the court this season.

Drummond contributed significantly to the win with 13 points, 11 rebounds, four assists and three blocks in 24 minutes off the bench. He made 5 of 11 shots from the field and connected on all three of his attempts from beyond the arc, continuing efficient play in a reserve role.

The 32-year-old has appeared in 52 games this season, including 24 starts, and is averaging 6.7 points, 8.7 rebounds and 1.1 assists per game. He is shooting 47.6% from the field and a career-high 34.7% from three-point range, while logging 20 minutes per contest.

Philadelphia moved to 38-32 with the win and remains in a tight race in the Eastern Conference standings. The 76ers are currently in ninth place, 0.5 games behind the sixth-seeded Orlando Magic (38-31) and 1.5 games behind the fifth-seeded Toronto Raptors (39-30).

The team will look to keep the momentum going as they conclude their three-game road trip against the Utah Jazz (21-49) on Saturday night. Tipoff is scheduled for 9:30 pm ET as Philadelphia continues its effort to climb the standings at the end of the regular season.

Andre Iguodala criticizes Josh Hart, Mikal Bridges over NBPA endorsement

The New York Knicks found themselves in an unexpected spotlight as Andre Iguodala called out Josh Hart and Mikal Bridges over their lack of NBPA participation. This moment raised deep questions about a player’s responsibility beyond the court.

Speaking on The Roommates Podcast, Iguodala didn’t hold back. Instead, he highlighted the difference between leadership and participation, engaging Nix directly in that conversation. As a result, the message was clear. Work outside the court also matters.

“I want to talk about C.J. McCollum,” Iguodala said. “They’re getting a lot of criticism for the second apron and I always ask people, what do you wish CJ did differently? Because we know what a lockout is like, and we don’t want people’s money to be wasted. We reach out to people all the time, and what do people say? I’m busy, I don’t want any extra work.”

This disappointment arose when Iguodala turned to younger voices. “When I talk to other people, like we need you in these meetings. ‘I want to play Call of Duty, I want to go out.’ Mikal…that’s my young boy. I say, ‘Mickle Dawg, if you’re one of the smart players in the league, so is he (Josh Hart), we need y’all.’

Knicks highlight a lack of leadership the league can’t ignore

The tone was not personal. Instead, it felt urgent. Andre Iguodala, now the executive director of the NBPA, called it a structural issue. Players profit from deals and criticism results. However, the fewer steps in the process. As a result, tensions arise and risks arise, with the Knicks now becoming part of that broader conversation.

Meanwhile, the respect for Hart and Mickle Bridge remains. Intelligent. Winning player. Proved under pressure. Yet, leadership at the grassroots demands more. meetings. For a long time. No headlines.

The crowd sees the final product. Contract. Rule. Wealth. What they don’t see is the work behind it.

So now the question remains. If the next generation doesn’t step up, who will carry the burden when it matters most for this Knicks group?

Jalen Brunson recalls the moment he took out anger on Andre Iguodala

Not many people know that New York Knicks guard Jalen Brunson and former NBA star Andre Iguodala have known each other for years.

These days, Brunson is having a great season with the Knicks, while Iguodala is enjoying his retirement after a 19-year career.

Iguodala debuted with the Philadelphia 76ers in 2004 when they selected him as the No. 9 pick. In 2006, the team added Brunson’s father, Rick Brunson, to the preseason roster. That’s when the lives of the younger Brunson and Iguodala intertwined.

On the “Roommates Show,” Brunson, 29, recalled a story when he was rebounding for the 76ers during a shootaround, and he accidentally peed on Iguodala.

“I think of it like this: If the ball goes in the hoop and you see where that ball came from, you give it back to the guy who made that shot,” the lefty guard said.

“So I’m pretty sure you made a shot, and I’m thinking, ‘Right back at him.’ You looked away for a second, and swiftly, he got hit in the head, hit you in the head. I went, ‘Oh s***.’ You were hot. You didn’t look back at me. He was hot. I was very scared.”

Iguodala said he did not remember it happening, but he was intrigued by Brunson’s story.

The elder Brunson, an assistant coach with the Knicks, was omitted from the final roster that year. Meanwhile, Iguodala had a breakout campaign averaging 18.2 points, 5.7 rebounds and five assists.

Twelve years later, in a full-circle moment, Iguodala, then with the Golden State Warriors, played against the young Brunson for the first time when he was a rookie on the Dallas Mavericks.

Josh Hart compares Andre Iguodala to Mike Brown

Over the course of his career, New York Knicks wing Josh Hart has become the ultimate glue man, similar to former Golden State Warriors champion Andre Iguodala. Knicks head coach Mike Brown was an assistant coach on those Warriors teams when Andre Iguodala was helping them win titles, and according to SNYTV’s Ian Begley, he sees similarities between Iguodala and Josh Hart.

“I think the main thing … is he connects with the group. I’m not saying he’s Andre Iguodala, or his game is like Andre Iguodala, but there’s a lot of similarities where you look at him … he’s really good in a lot of different areas,” Brown said. “But more importantly, he connects the group and to have a guy like that, especially to start the game, is huge.

“He’s been great in giving us that energy, giving us the connectivity we need with the starting group and then doing the little things. The offensive glass, pushing the pace, getting down in transition. He’s a switchable guy, he’s a physical guy and [he does] A lot of things that don’t necessarily show up on the statsheet. . “Also help in connectivity.”

Mike Brown is in his first season as head coach of the Knicks, and thus this is the first time he has had the chance to coach Josh Hart. Drafted 30th overall in the 2017 NBA Draft, Hart has played for the Los Angeles Lakers, New Orleans Pelicans and Portland Trail Blazers before finding a home with the Knicks. He is in his third full season with the team after being acquired at the 2023 NBA trade deadline.

Hart has appeared in 56 games this season, including 42 starts, averaging approximately 30 minutes per game. He averaged 12.1 points, 7.6 rebounds, 5.1 assists and 1.1 steals while shooting 50.6 percent from the field, 39.5 percent from the 3-point line and 71 percent from the free-throw line.

Is Andre Drummond playing today? 76ers vs nets injury report

After three road games in their last four contests, the Philadelphia 76ers return home to face the Brooklyn Nets on Saturday afternoon. The 76ers’ frontcourt depth is a concern heading into the game, with Andre Drummond listed as questionable and Joel Embiid still out with an oblique strain. Here’s everything we know about Andre Drummond’s injury and his playing status against the Nets.

Andre Drummond’s injury status vs. Nets

76ers rumors heated up as Andre Drummond and Eric Gordon entered NBA trade deadline talks, pushing Philadelphia into a difficult roster decision.
Bill Streicher-USA TODAY Sports

Andre Drummond has not played since the 76ers faced the Cleveland Cavaliers on March 9. He missed the team’s next game the following night and the upcoming game against the Detroit Pistons due to back spasms.

Drummond is once again listed as questionable for the same reason as the 76ers prepare to face the Nets on Saturday afternoon. Having already missed 17 games in the 2025-2026 season, Drummond could be viewed as a true game-time decision.

The 76ers will be severely short-handed up front due to another absence. Embiid is out with an oblique strain, and Adem Bona, who has started eight games this season, is also questionable with a back injury.

Bona also missed the 76ers’ last game, forcing head coach Nick Nurse to deploy a skeleton unit against the Eastern Conference-leading Pistons. Nurse started 6-foot-8 Trendon Watford as his makeshift center, allowing Jalen Duren to collect an easy 14-point, 10-rebound double-double.

Philadelphia will also be without Tyrese Maxey, Paul George and Kelly Oubre Jr. The Nets will play without Michael Porter Jr., but with or without Drummond, the 76ers will be the clear shorthanded team on Saturday afternoon.

Given his current roster status and his recent absences, Drummond is likely questionable for Saturday’s contest.

Why Andre Drummond’s Stria Sports venture is a ‘dream’ turned reality

Atlanta, GA – It’s bigger than basketball for Andre Drummond.

As a two-time NBA All-Star and four-time rebounding leader, the Philadelphia 76ers center has garnered numerous awards throughout his career. In 2014, he signed an endorsement deal with Jordan Brand and remained with the company for almost a decade. In all that time, he hasn’t had a signature sneaker, which he flaunted when he was younger.

“As a kid, I would make sneakers of things I wanted to see, like be the face of Nike,” Drummond said in an exclusive interview with Clutch Points. “Like, at 10 years old, I’m designing Nike solutions on shoes I’m making. Just imagining my idols and people I grew up with, they have their signature shoes. Being a guy that loved Jordan and being a part of the Jordan Brand for many years.

“That was a dream come true for me, too. I’m like, ‘One day, I want to be able to do something like that on my scale.'”

14 years later, and that dream has become a reality.

Drummond recently announced his new venture with Stria Sport, founded by Eric Porter, where he will not only have his own signature sneaker, but also the title of “Creative Director” and have equity in the company.

After his deal with Jordan expired, he was looking for another brand to work with in 2022. He was scrolling through social media when he saw athlete and family friend, Xavier Rathan-Mayes, sporting some sneakers that caught his attention.

“I’m like ‘D’, this [are] Very tough,” Drummond said. “So I reached out, and Eric came right back to me and said, ‘Hey, man, we’re just starting a new company. We’re not really ready to sign a player like you right now, so give us a few years, and if you’re still a free agent we’ll come back and take a look again.”

Drummond did not sign with anyone. He was still a free agent and wore several different sneakers during his time with the Chicago Bulls and 76ers. Then, Porter reached back last June. He not only offered to sign Drummond to Stria Sport, but also gave him ownership, a signature shoe, and equity in the company.

This was no easy task for Drummond.

Drummond said, “I’m doing this not only to get my own signature shoe, but to have equity in the company, to have the creative direction of the company, to be what I want to see. It was a no-brainer.” “So I was super excited to do it. We got the paperwork done. It took us a couple of months to get the paperwork done, but we figured out what was best for both sides of the party, and here we are today. Things are in the running.”

Andre Drummond is looking to create a legacy

Drummond knows how to run a business. Companies will call you and tell you they will get back to you when the time is right, then you never hear from them again. Eric was different in that regard.

“Just to get [Eric] Reaching out and me not reaching out to him really showed the seriousness of how much he believed in my vision of what I wanted to see. Not for myself, but what I saw for the company.”

Stria Sports was a match made in heaven for Drummond. He’s able to work side by side with someone who has actually played the game and knows what it means to have a good basketball shoe on his foot. As for Drummond, he’s worn the three biggest brands for most of his career, but it’s always been something else he’s reaching for.

“Of course, I’m excited about the signature shoe, but for me, I’m thinking about the future and what this company can look like,” Drummond said. “I’m thinking about my kids and what they can do for this company, like having something of their own. Not so many people can walk around school and say, ‘Hey, my dad owns a sneaker company.’ I get that creative direction. I can essentially make my own shoes if I want to. “I’m looking forward to passing it on to the next generation, to my children, and they will also pass it on to their brothers and sisters.”

“It’s bigger than me. It’s bigger than basketball. It’s bigger than all of us. I want to build a shoe and build a company that is athlete-based.”

Everyone knows about the top players who had a hand in creating their own signature sneakers. Michael Jordan, LeBron James, Kobe Bryant, Stephen Curry and James Harden to name a few. These are some of the people Drummond grew up watching, playing against and forming friendships with.

“Seeing that they have their own shoe, I wanted to be like that one day. Obviously, it’s later in my career, and obviously, where I was seven years ago is different than where I am now, which is why I say it’s so much bigger than basketball. It’s creating something that’s athlete-based that everyone can know and love.”

No matter how long it takes him, Drummond will be able to keep his name in the conversation with athletes who have their own signature sneaker. This is something that not only are they proud of, but their children and younger generations can look up to and want to aspire to do.

At first it was all a dream for Drummond, but now he is living it.

Stria Sport

Stria Sport

Andre Drummond gets creative with new sneaker ad

Andre Drummond of the Philadelphia 76ers has been in the NBA since 2012, when he joined the Detroit Pistons as the 9th overall selection of the draft. A two-time All-Star and one of the modern NBA’s strongest rebounders, the 32-year-old is now lending his years of expertise to Stria Sport, a Chicago-based performance footwear brand founded by former collegiate athlete Eric Porter.

What’s special about Drummond’s newly formed relationship with the company is that he is leaving traditional show support behind and also signing on as a lead equity investor and creative director.

“I’m not just an NBA player. I’m a creative director, an owner, and it’s deeper than basketball,” Drummond said, according to a post on

Worn by over 100 athletes globally and the official footwear partner of the Harlem Globetrotters 100th Anniversary Season, Stria Sport has already been endorsed by professional athletes such as Bryce Cotton, Megan Gustafson, KJ McDaniels, Kiefer Sykes, Majok Deng, Rayjon Tucker and Justinian Jessup.

Drummond is set to work with founder Eric Porter as a “key decision maker” on product design, campaigns, partnerships and brand vision. Straw’s mission framework is derived from the Latin word industria, which emphasizes hard work, energy, and purposeful effort.

This philosophical branding aligns closely with competitive sports values, preparation over hype, substance over appearance, qualities that have been consistent with Drummond’s playing style over the years. The 32-year-old is seen by many as one of the most tenacious defenders of recent times, and he certainly isn’t the most attractive.

At its core, Stria Sport is athlete-founded and athlete-tested. The company was created by lifelong basketball players with decades of shoe industry experience who sought to address a persistent gap in the market: the forced trade-off between performance and aesthetics.

According to a statement from the Harlem Globetrotters, the brand’s flagship Strea Sport 107 series is specifically targeted toward basketball athletes, and focuses on lightweight construction, elite traction, responsive cushioning, and structured stability.
