Marco Silva set for Lisbon trip as Fulham chase final answer

fulham The Marco Silva saga is entering a decisive phase. Portuguese reports are now claiming the manager is expected to arrive in Lisbon this week for talks with Benfica.

Till now most of the movements were indirect. Talks through representatives, growing optimism at Benfica, and Fulham are trying to convince Silva to stay.

Yesterday, we covered how the dynamic around jose mourinho Can affect his condition. And the latest reports from Tuesday show that the situation is now becoming more concrete.

according to to ballSilva is expected to be in Lisbon in midweek and should have a meeting with Benfica which could prove decisive for his future.

Silva is now close to a decision

There is now widespread agreement in Portugal that Marco Silva’s answer is coming very soon.

record Report the Fulham manager will decide his future before Thursday. The newspaper says Silva does not want the situation to drag on any further and will soon inform Fulham of his intention to renew or leave.

Following Fulham’s 2-0 win over Newcastle United at the weekend, Silva himself effectively confirmed the urgency of the process.

“It will not go beyond this week,” He said, and also emphasized that he did not like to do so “Feed Soap Opera”.

A bola adds another important detail. Silva could travel to Lisbon without already making a final decision and potentially use the meeting with Benfica to clarify final points before deciding on his next move.

It seems that the talks are reaching the final stage.

Benfica’s confidence is increasing

surround vowels in portugal Benfica’s prospects Feels stronger than before.

One Bola described Silva as “very tempted” by the prospect of taking over at Benfica, while Fulham are pressing him with a major renewal offer and the promise of future investment.

That emotional aspect continues to be visible in the Portuguese coverage. After five years at Fulham and almost a decade coaching in England, Silva is clearly considering two different futures.

Benfica are also reportedly willing to make a huge financial effort by Portuguese standards. The newspaper says Silva considers a long-term contract necessary and Benfica is ready for that structure, although no final agreement has yet been reached.

However, Mourinho’s position continues to loom over everything. Benfica still officially have Mourinho under contract for another season and uncertainty regarding his expected move to Real Madrid remains unresolved, as we covered yesterday.

A Bola again pressed Benfica that internally it is already behaving as if Mourinho is lost, but formally nothing has been completed yet. That lingering uncertainty is still causing caution on Silva’s part.

Fulham still trying to convince Silva to stay

Meanwhile, Fulham are not backing down. The latest reports continue to suggest that the London club are doing so Working hard to keep Marco Silva And are trying to sell him a more ambitious future in the Premier League.

According to the Record, Fulham’s renewal offer would extend Silva’s deal for a further four years and increase his wages to around €7.2m (£6.1m) per season.

The same report says he currently earns around €5.8m (£4.9m), although bonuses could already boost that figure to €7.5m (£6.3m).

One Bola also confirms that Fulham’s pitch is not just financial. The club continues to invest in the squad and promise better conditions to compete for bigger goals in the Premier League.

As we previously covered, Portuguese reports have repeatedly suggested that Silva was disappointed with the level of investment last season and wanted stronger guarantees before committing again to the long term.

Either way, Marco Silva is now expected to arrive in Lisbon. So we should all get answers by the end of the week.

Premier League or Champions League? Arsenal star reveals answer to Gunners’ dressing room

armory Midfielder Mikel Merino has revealed that the team considers the Premier League title more important than the Champions League.

Cadena SER Report Comments The 29-year-old after appearing on his show El Larguero today.

arsenal return

The midfielder is keen to make a comeback at the end of the season after spending the last few months injured.

He is expected to be in Luis de la Fuente’s Spain squad for the World Cup, while he is also expected to play some role in the Champions League final. Arsenal will face PSG on 30thth May.

They head into that game as reigning Premier League champions, with Manchester City drawing with Bournemouth to seal the Gunners’ title victory with a game remaining.

Premier League or Champions League?

They can make the season even more special with a first Champions League title. But according to Marino, the team has already achieved its top priority.

“The Premier League title. It’s a league win. And because of the way we won it and the context, going 22 years without winning it, it’s great,” he said.

When he was asked ‘Premier League or Champions League?’

“Coming from Spain, I thought the Champions League was the most important. But seeing how difficult the Premier League is, it’s hard for me to choose one or the other.

“I think they would prefer to win this league title than the Champions League against PSG. Although it is true that it is their first title.”

Then he was asked which of the two he preferred. And he admits, unlike his peers, he wants to be greedy with his selections.

“We’ve already won the Premier League, so the answer is a bit of a double-edged sword. I’d be greedy and ask for both,” he said.

Is Joel Embiid the 76ers’ answer to the Anthony Davis trade this summer?

The Philadelphia 76ers need to move on from Joel Embiid, and this summer is one possible way to do it. But that would mean acquiring another expensive, injury-plagued big man, and it could cost them their first-round pick in June.

There were high expectations for the Sixers’ postseason chances in Philadelphia a week ago. They made a stunning comeback from 3-1 down to eliminate the Boston Celtics in the first round. Many analysts around the game suggested that they were the new favorites from the East to reach the NBA Finals. Then they ran into a buzz saw called the New York Knicks.

The organization has a lot of decisions to make after the 76ers’ dominance and loss to New York. Is Daryl Morey’s run as team president over? Should coach Nick Nurse be fired? Still, for whoever is running the team next month, one era that needs to end is Embiid’s time in the City of Brotherly Love.

Why the Philadelphia 76ers should trade Joel Embiid this summer

The seven-time All-Star and 2022-23 NBA MVP will go down as one of the greatest players in 76ers history. That would be one of the greatest “what if” stories in league history. Despite once being an impressive athlete for a man of his size, the 32-year-old’s body is now in disrepair. In his 10 years in the league, he has played 60 or more games only four times due to numerous injuries, mostly to his legs.

In 2025-26, the 76ers placed him in bubble wrap and allowed him to play in only 38 games this season after appearing in 19 last year. Although he can perform at an All-Star level when healthy – he has posted 26.9 points, 7.7 rebounds and 1.2 blocks this season – his body cannot be trusted at all. This was proven during these playoffs, and with $186 million left on his contract, he is a bigger problem than a benefit for the organization.

What makes it even worse is that he has become a toxic personality at a time when Tyrese Maxey should be the new face of the franchise. He once again could not accept his team’s failures against the Knicks and blamed the referees. Then the season in which he played 38 games was called a “breakthrough”. In a blue-collar city like Philadelphia, Embiid has worn out his welcome. The 76ers will have to turn the pages to progress.

Yet, because he is so composed and has shown that he will never be able to recapture his previous form – plus he is owed so much money – he is perhaps the most unattainable player in the NBA. Unless he was traded for a similar player, and a sweetener was added to the deal.

Should the 76ers try to replace Anthony Davis with Joel Embiid?

In many ways, 10-time All-Star Anthony Davis has had a similar career to Embiid. He also topped superstar projections. And while he could be a dominant force on the court like Embiid, injury problems followed him throughout his career. Besides, he still has a lot of money coming in. If Davis opts out of the final year of his contract in 2027-28, he could make up to $121 million over the next two years.

The Washington Wizards traded for him earlier this year and hope he – and Trae Young – can be part of a big resurgence next season. Still, reports have revealed that he is not thrilled about playing in DC, and may be open to another trade. But would the Wizards be willing to take Embiid back in a trade? Probably not.

However, if the 76ers were bold enough to add draft picks, they could do so. While Washington is expected to make big changes next season, they are still a rebuilding team that has the No. 1 pick in next month’s NBA Draft. What if they could also get the 22nd overall pick in one of the deepest drafts ever? Plus another first-rounder in a few years?

This would be a high cost for the 76ers. But they have the pieces to be very good again next season and they aren’t as eager to keep that pick at 22. Moving Embiid would be an addition by subtraction move. Plus, having Davis around even for one season is still a very good replacement option.

Although a trade is unlikely, if the 76ers can convince anyone to take Joel Embiid, his play and his contract, the Wizards would be the best trade partner.

San Francisco 49ers GM provides definitive answer on substation conspiracy theory

The San Francisco 49ers have been troubled by injuries over the years, always losing many of their top players and reserves to soft-tissue injuries and other issues. This led to a conspiracy theory regarding a nearby electrical substation and resulted in an investigation by the team.

Speaking to reporters over the weekend, 49ers general manager John Lynch said the franchise had paid for an independent investigation of the conspiracy theory. The process included hiring a scientist with “over 45 years of experience studying electromagnetic fields and their effects” to determine whether the theory had any merit.

“”It was basically a huge burger. We are safe at work. …It’s a normal place to work. This is a normal gym. We’re safe, we’re healthy, and we feel really good about it.

San Francisco 49ers GM John Lynch on substation conspiracy theory (via ESPN)

The team allowed the scientist, whose identity was not disclosed, to go through the entire facility using “lab-grade equipment” to obtain electromagnetic output readings around any areas occupied by players.

The scientist’s readings showed that the level was 400 times below the limit of “unsafe working environment” for a person. Additionally, it was determined that the level of exposure at team headquarters was “typical” of what you would find in the workplace or a gym. In fact, according to the investigation, players may be getting higher exposure levels from microwave ovens or vacuum cleaners at home.

Fans and online skeptics weren’t the only ones questioning the team over the potential risks of being so close to a Silicon Valley Power Mission substation. All-Pro tight end George Kittle and fullback Kyle Juszczyk heard about the conspiracy theory with their colleagues and inquired with the team about the potential risks.

With that theory scientifically debunked, the likely reason for the high rate of injuries for the team is more likely to be the number of playoff games competed in under Kyle Shanahan and his practice style. The 49ers will continue to try and find ways to preserve the health of their players, but it’s safe to assume there will still be jokes and perhaps more conviction in the Substation conspiracy if another star player gets hurt.

“That was God’s answer” – Player fell through at the last minute on transfer to Manchester United

PUMAS UNAM goalkeeper Keylor Navas says his failed move to Manchester United had no effect on him.

Friday edition of As have published a detailed interview with the Costa Rica international to discuss a range of topics including Manchester United’s outlook.

Real Madrid signed the stopper from Levante UD in August 2014 and a year later Manchester United came calling.

Manchester United’s late approach for Navas

At the time, David De Gea was the number 1 at Old Trafford and starring for the Red Devils. His impressive performances for Manchester United caught the attention of Real Madrid.

The La Liga side tried to lure the former Atletico Madrid player back to the Spanish capital. As part of the deal, Real Madrid agreed to let the 39-year-old Costa Rican join Manchester United.

Louis van Gaal was then in charge of the Premier League team and he talked Navas into convincing him. This dual operation was planned to be completed by the deadline of summer 2015.

However, the paperwork related to the move was not submitted before the window closed and the operation collapsed.

Manchester United renewed De Gea’s contract. He ultimately left the English club on a free transfer in 2023 and joined Fiorentina a year later.

Navas bids farewell to Real Madrid to join Manchester United

sports witness Earlier Spanish claims were covered The current Pumas stopper was on a private jet to join the Red Devils.

AS asked Navas about his failed move to Manchester United, and he said: “He called me at home about four or five o’clock in the afternoon to discuss the possibility. United manager [Van Gaal] Talked to me to try to convince me.

“Then I prayed with my family, asking God to do what was best for us according to His will. The fax did not arrive on time, and that was God’s answer to our prayer.

“It was a frantic few hours getting to and from the airport, medical, reviewing contracts and attending meetings.

“When the deadline passed and the fax did not arrive, everyone was stressed except my wife and me. I said goodbye to the Real Madrid executives who were negotiating and went home very calmly, knowing that something better was about to happen.”

Navas’ unsuccessful move to Manchester United paid off as he won three consecutive Champions League titles with Real Madrid between 2015–18. He left Los Blancos in 2019.

On this success, Nawas said: “I don’t know if something like this will happen again, but apart from great sporting success, it would be very difficult to maintain a high-quality, cohesive group for so many years. There are constant changes in clubs now, and our strong unity was key to achieving those successes.”
