Pat Riley asks ridiculous price for Bam Adebayo

As the Miami Heat try to figure out their next move, team president Pat Riley doesn’t seem to be speculating about the possibility of trading three-time All-Star Bam Adebayo.

He met with the media on Monday and was asked if he would consider leaving Adebayo after other teams have traded away their franchise players to become better over the past few years. His answer was quite definite. And he even offered a ridiculous price that he would accept:

“I want to build it around Bam. I think Mikey wants that too… I’m just going to give you ‘no’, I’m not going to do it. Unless someone gives me eight picks and (Victor) Wembanyama.”

One could argue that the most ridiculous thing was Riley not being able to pronounce Wembley’s name except for a few letters.

He was given three other examples of teams that replaced their star players to become better. Atlanta traded away Trae Young, Indiana traded Domantas Sabonis and Toronto waived Pascal Siakam. But Riley simply said, “They’re not bam… not in my opinion by any means.

“[He’s]your franchise pillar, anchor-creator, culture-bearer and a genius.”

Adebayo averaged 20.1 points and 10.0 rebounds this year, which are pretty good numbers, but hardly ‘franchise player’ type. He was also in the news last month in the NBA for surpassing Kobe Bryant for the second-highest scoring game of all-time when he scored 83 points in a game in March.

Adebayo is a perennial contender for Defensive Player of the Year, and has averaged a double-double in four of the last seven years.

But in the end, bam or no bam, the Heat fell far short of reaching their goal this season. They finished 43–39, and were seeded 10th in the Eastern Conference. They lost to the Charlotte Hornets in the play-in tournament and were eliminated from the playoffs.

‘Unhappy with his situation’ – Tottenham player asks agent to arrange transfer regardless

tottenham defender radu dragusin

Radu Dragusin’s spell has been mixed tottenhamNow, efforts to help him make an exit are gaining momentum after he joined from Genoa in 2024.

In January, sports witness Italian interest in the Defender was closely covered. AS Roma were particularly pushing for his signature, as AC Milan had also attempted a move.

Neither succeeded, as Tottenham did not back down from their position on a permanent deal. No interested Serie A side could afford the requested €25 million, only wanting an initial loan.

Things haven’t really changed for Dragusin since January. He has started six Premier League games, but has been placed on the bench in the last three fixtures.

Now, people around the Romanians are pushing for an exit.

Dragusin is interested in transfer

spotmedia The report from Romania states that the centre-back has lost patience with the London club. He is very disappointed with the proposed playing time, with the last time the league games will start on 15 March.

As a result, the 24-year-old has informed his agent Florin Mané of his desire to find a new club.

Negotiations are already underway with clubs from Italy and Germany, the specific names of the teams are unknown at the moment. But it is very clear that he will be leaving Tottenham, as the player is ‘unhappy with his situation’.

Spurs are also, at their end, set to part ways in the summer. He feels that his returns since joining have been very poor and this is forcing him to evaluate the sale.

Dragusin is better off in a back-up role

Dragusin has been a squad player since joining Tottenham. The main reason for this is the presence of Mickey Van de Ven and Christian Romero.

The way he performed in Genoa, it would be fair to say that he is better off being a back-up. Although he is not excellent on the ball, Dragusin’s strength has always been in his recovery and heading ability.

Only glimpses of this have been seen at Tottenham. He is still only 24 years old and working towards his peak. This makes 2026 the best time for Dragusin to get a permanent transfer.

JJ Redick asks first question from media after LA’s tremendous win

On Saturday evening, the Los Angeles Lakers picked up one of the biggest wins of the 2025-26 NBA season with a thrilling overtime win over the Denver Nuggets. It looked like the Lakers were dying for possession in the final seconds of regulation, but Austin Reaves’ intentionally missed free throws were executed to perfection, and Luka Doncic ultimately won things for Los Angeles in the extra frame.

After the game, Lakers head coach JJ Redick attempted to expand his vocabulary to explain how the Lakers are coming together at the right time.

“Is ‘coalesces’ a word? Is it the right word? To come together?”. Redick asked, according to ESPN’s Dave McMenamin. “I think it feels like we’re coming together pretty well right now. There’s still a long way to go, but definitely optimistic about how we’ve handled this run of games. … It’s big time.”

The Lakers are currently on a five-game winning streak, and have suffered losses to some tough competition, including both the Nuggets and New York Knicks last week. The questions about the Lakers’ defense are beginning to subside, as Los Angeles has played some better basketball on that end of the floor amid its winning streak.

Los Angeles currently sits in third place in the Western Conference, the same spot where they finished the regular season a year ago, and as the NBA Playoffs approach, the team certainly looks to be playing its best basketball at the right time.

It also helps that Los Angeles remains mostly healthy, as Reeves, Doncic and LeBron James are getting a chance to consistently share the floor for the first time all season.

Los Angeles will take the field for the first of two road games versus the Houston Rockets on Monday evening.

San Antonio player asks Hawks to cancel Magic City promotional night

The Atlanta Hawks caused quite a surprise when they announced plans to host a Magic City themed promotion during one of their home games. Magic City is a famous strip club located in Atlanta that regularly attracts celebrity visitors. But not everyone is in favor of the Hawks’ promotion, including San Antonio Spurs big man Luke Kornet.

Luke Cornett, who runs a public online blog while playing for the Spurs, wrote a new post this week explaining his reasoning for why he thinks the Hawks should cancel their Magic City promotion night.

“This week, the Atlanta Hawks announced a special one-night-only collaboration to celebrate the city’s iconic cultural institution Magic City during the team’s home games against the Orlando Magic on Monday, March 16,” Cornett wrote. Given this fact, I would respectfully ask that the Atlanta Hawks cancel this promotional night with the Magic City.

Cornette explained the potential dangers of working in such an industry, and suggested that the Magic City was not the type of family-friendly business the NBA should be promoting.

The Hawks’ Promotional Night is currently scheduled for March 16 during the team’s home game against the Orlando Magic. Ticket sales for the game have reportedly increased, and the team has already begun selling promotional merchandise.

While Cornette may be against the idea, there are others, like former NBA player Lou Williams, who expressed his support for the effort.
