WWE backstage rumor makes Wyatt Six, New Day and MCMG releases even more ridiculous

A new rumor about WWE’s plans in the coming weeks and months makes the recent release of the Wyatt Six and the Motor City Machine Guns even more silly.

In April, WWE surprised wrestling fans when they decided to part ways with approximately 30 performers across Raw, SmackDown, NXT, and their developmental system. There were several surprise departures, but one that shocked many was the entire faction known as the Wyatt Six and TNA/Impact legends, the Motor City Machine Guns.

His exit seemed to reflect the company’s disinterest in tag wrestling as WWE fans have become more aware over the years. However, apparently, the promotion is planning to invest in tag wrestling again soon.

WWE plans to rebuild the tag team division

According to False Finish, “WWE is currently trying to help rebuild the tag team division from within, while also looking at the possibility of signing tag teams from other promotions in the near future.”

Obviously, the report should be taken with a grain of salt. However, if there is any truth to the news that WWE decided to cut ties with former tag champions like Wyatt Six, MCMG, and The New Day – who decided to leave after they asked to take a pay cut – it now seems pretty silly.

For tag wrestling fans, the report is good news, and WWE has some very talented teams on its stacked roster. But if they really invested in rebuilding the division, they seriously damaged it with their release last month.

Will Jessie Jayne get a huge push in Smackdown? Backstage rumors emerge on rising status

According to Fightful Select, Jessie Jayne is influencing creative changes on WWE SmackDown.

Several people involved in the creative process have begun rearranging plans in the women’s division to feature Jane more prominently, inspired by crowd reactions to Fatal Influence since her arrival to the group’s main roster last month.

Fatal Influence made her SmackDown debut on April 24, interrupting the match of Alexa Bliss and Charlotte Flair. Later that night, Jayne faced WWE Women’s Champion Rhea Ripley, losing by disqualification after stablemates Fallon Henley and Lanny Reed attacked Ripley during the match.

The group has wasted no time in establishing themselves at the top of the SmackDown women’s division, with Jayne’s history giving WWE a lot to work with. She is a two-time former NXT Women’s Champion, having won the title for the first time by defeating Stephanie Wacker in May 2025 and holding it for 151 days before losing it to Tatum Paxley at NXT Halloween Havoc. She regained the title at Gold Rush in November 2025 and held it for the next 137 days before dropping it to Lola Vice at NXT Stand & Deliver in a triple threat also involving Kendall Grey.

Jayne also has the honor of being the first wrestler to hold championships in both WWE and TNA simultaneously. She won the TNA Knockouts World Championship in a winner-take-all match against Masha Slamovich at TNA Slammiversary in July 2025 while still NXT Women’s Champion, although she lost the TNA title 36 days later at NXT Heatwave.

Report reveals backstage drama Jade Cargill created with WWE talent

Internal discord within the WWE locker room has reportedly come to the surface following a social media exchange between WWE Women’s Champion Jade Cargill and Rhea Ripley.

While the rivalry is set to headline WrestleMania 42, new reports reveal that the “working shoot” nature of their online feud – specifically Cargill’s accusation of Replay playing “politics” with creative – was not an accepted part of the storyline.

According to PWInsider Elite, multiple sources have directly blamed Cargill for the public fallout, noting that his conduct has rubbed many colleagues the wrong way. The situation escalated further on Monday, when other members of the women’s division, including Chelsea Green and Piper Niven, took to social media to defend Ripley.

Green praised Ripley as a “compassionate and respectful” professional, a comment Cargill interpreted as a personal attack. This led to a confrontation with Niven, who told the champion that “the world doesn’t revolve around you” and criticized his ring ability.

“The back-and-forth between Jade Cargill and others was not prepared for by WWE creative, with multiple sources placing the blame for the outburst on Cargill. A source explained that Cargill has been criticized by many talents for how she rubs others the wrong way and when the back-and-forth with Rhea started, it wasn’t hard for others to jump in and express their opinions,” PWInsider reported.

Sources backstage also pointed to Cargill’s previous absence as a source of underlying tension. While it was previously reported that Cargill spent time at the WWE Performance Center in late 2024 and early 2025 to recover from undisclosed injuries, some reports now claim that the hiatus was intended to resolve “personal issues” and reduce locker room friction.

Talents have reportedly described Cargill’s behavior as “unsafe”, which suggests that although the roster is happy to help bring him up as a champion, the respect is not always felt the same way. Ripley herself appeared to address the situation in a scathing Instagram Story on March 3, which was quickly deleted.

In the post he wrote, “Not fun. Not friends. Learn to work and never live to defame someone’s actual human character by ‘breaking the fourth wall’.”

Major update on WWE signing of Danhausen, backstage divide

Following Danhausen’s mixed reception following his WWE debut at Elimination Chamber, some new updates have emerged.

One of the interesting storylines from Saturday’s event was what was in the mysterious box that was delivered to WWE Raw two weeks ago. There was a note on the crate stating that it would not be opened until the Elimination Chamber. This led to a large amount of speculation about who or what was involved.

While many fans were hoping this would be the return of Chris Jericho, as we got closer to the event, most reports pointed to AEW alumnus Danhausen being in the crate. When the box was broken open and it was, in fact, Danhausen inside, he was unfortunately given a warm welcome by the WWE fans in Chicago.

Danhausen has signed a multi-year deal with WWE

Opinions on social media have been mixed, and the fact that AEW kept him under contract for a year but didn’t use him certainly didn’t help. Additionally, it seems that there was disagreement within the company over whether or not to sign him, according to Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer.

“People pushed for him, [but] There were people who didn’t want him,” Meltzer said after the event. “It wasn’t a unanimous decision or anything like that. I think the people who didn’t want him were thinking, ‘Hmm, sure it didn’t work out so well this time.’

“But time will tell. He’ll get another chance. Maybe it’ll be The Gobbledy Gooker, and maybe it’ll be R-Truth.”

The comedy wrestlers will get many more opportunities as, according to BodySlam.net, Danhausen has signed a multi-year contract with WWE. Additionally, the outlet claims that those in favor of adding him wanted to bring him in in July, but despite their requests, AEW extended his contract.
