I will be back with my team this weekend and we will take a decision.”

The event, which was to promote Brown’s performance brand 741Performance, was shut down after an event permit for the said gathering was denied. However, the Celtics star reiterated that the event did not require a permit, as it was a private, invitation-only event rather than a public event. Brown expressed his disappointment after the incident, saying that the Beverly Hills PD lied about parts of the incident.

“I wanted to have fun and I felt like that was taken away from me,” Brown told reporters. “I was embarrassed. If it happened to me, I’m sure it happened to many people in the past. I look at it that way. There’s probably a group of people who don’t scream, preying on deaf fear, which is unfortunate. I’m not sure what the conclusion is. … Even in the statement he made, he included some things in the apology that were not true.

Brown was selected to his fifth All-Star Game this year with the Celtics. The star forward is averaging 29.3 points per game as he has led Boston to second place in the Eastern Conference. Even without Jayson Tatum, Boston is preparing for another postseason appearance.

“On Saturday, February 14, the Beverly Hills Police Department (BHPD) responded to an event taking place at a private residence in the city’s Trousdale neighborhood. An event permit had been applied for and denied by the city due to previous violations associated with events at the address,” the statement said.

“Despite the fact that the permit was denied, the organizers still decided to invite hundreds of guests, despite knowing that this was not allowed to happen. BHPD responded and shut down the unpermitted event.”

Brown disputed this account from the Beverly Hills Police Department and said he believed he was targeted by city police.
