Porter Jr. rests headlines Brooklyn-Grizzlies injury report

The Brooklyn Nets made a strong comeback with a 107-105 win over the Detroit Pistons last time out and will next host the Memphis Grizzlies. However, both teams are dealing with a plethora of injuries, making this look more like a tanking game than an NBA matchup.

According to the official injury report, a total of 13 players have been mentioned in the official injury report, ten of which are from Memphis. Ja Morant is out with a UCL sprain in his left elbow.

The frontcourt is also depleted with Santi Aldama (right knee injury management), Brandon Clarke (right calf strain), and Zach Eddy (left ankle surgery recovery) out. Veteran Kentavious Caldwell-Pope is also sidelined while recovering from surgery on his right fifth finger, while Taj Gibson is unavailable as he works through return-to-competition reconstruction. Lastly, Cedric Coward (management of right knee injury), Taylor Hendricks (management of right toe injury), Ty Jerome (management of right calf injury) and Scottie Pippen Jr. (management of right toe injury) are all listed as questionable.

Meanwhile, the Nets also have some injury concerns. Michael Porter Jr., who leads the team with 24.3 points per game, has been ruled out for rest. Rookie Egor Demin will also miss the game due to left plantar fascia injury management while Ben Saraf is listed as probable despite back tightness.

However, both the teams have been struggling for some time now. Memphis is entering the game at 23-39 (11th in the Western Conference) while Brooklyn is currently 16-47 (14th in the Eastern Conference).
The Grizzlies have lost three consecutive games and six of their last eight. Meanwhile, the Nets snapped a ten-game losing streak against the high-flying Pistons last time out and will hope to continue the momentum.

Over their last 10 games, the Nets have gone 1-9 with an average of just 102.6 points, highlighting the league’s worst offense at 106.9 points per game. The scoring drought remains their biggest concern despite facing a team that allows 115.6 points per contest.

Regardless, with the extent that Memphis has struggled with injuries, Brooklyn will enter this one as the favorite.
