CM Punk breaks silence on ‘magical’ Michael Jordan Bulls-inspired Elimination Chamber entrance

On Saturday, February 28, 2026, CM Punk defeated Finn Balor to retain his World Heavyweight Championship at the United Center in Chicago, Illinois. While his wife, AJ Lee, won the Women’s Intercontinental Title from Becky Lynch earlier in the night, Punk’s entrance and victory became the talking point.

Before Punk entered the arena, he was shown backstage, where “Serious” by The Alan Parsons Project was played. The song was popularly used for the starting lineup introduction of the NBA’s Chicago Bulls during the time of NBA legend Michael Jordan. As Punk entered, he also received a Bulls-style introduction before his entrance theme “Cult of Personality” hit.

Later in the post-show at Elimination Chamber, Punk explained his Bulls-inspired entrance. “That song, The Alan Parsons Project, obviously belongs at the United Center as the introduction to the Bulls Dynasty. There’s a statue of a guy named Michael Jordan in the vestibule. It was also Ricky Steamboat’s entrance to much of his time in WWE.

“Ladies and gentlemen, it’s a magical song and I get goosebumps just thinking about it and talking about it. But the best thing about that entrance is these people are behind me. And when I say people are behind me, I mean the entire city of Chicago, because they’re always behind me,” Punk said.

Following his victory over Balor, Punk ended his segment celebrating with the brand new Women’s Intercontinental Champion and his wife AJ Lee. “The Second City Saint” is now scheduled to fight Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 42 with his world title intact.

Giannis slams WWE for Elimination Chamber

Giannis Antetokounmpo has not played a game for the Milwaukee Bucks, who are reportedly more open to the idea of trading the Greek Freak. Still, Giannis apparently has plenty to keep himself busy, most recently making a high-profile appearance at the WWE Elimination Chamber premium live event in Chicago.

According to a clip posted on SportsCenter by SportsCenter, Giannis walked through the crowd to his seat with his sons, six-year-old Liam and four-year-old Maverick. Antetokounmpo, along with his brothers and rapper Lil Yachty, were also seen dancing to CM Punk’s iconic Cult of Personality entrance theme with a smile on their faces.

Giannis, a well-known WWE fan, attended an AEW taping in August 2021, where he received a replica championship belt. However, the current event is even more important in the WWE universe as it will decide who will be involved in WrestleMania 42.

The chamber contains two initial competitors and four others locked in glass pods that are released at timed intervals. The men’s match pits Randy Orton, Cody Rhodes, Javon Evans, Logan Paul, L.A. Knight and Trick Williams against each other, with the winner receiving a shot at Drew McIntyre’s Undisputed WWE Championship.

Paul notably secured his spot after Jey Uso was eliminated due to a backstage attack. On the women’s side, Tiffany Stratton, Rhea Ripley, Alexa Bliss, Asuka, Raquel Rodriguez and Kianna James will fight to secure a title match against WWE Women’s Champion Jade Cargill.

The Chicago card also features a World Heavyweight Championship rematch between hometown heroes CM Punk and Finn Balor as well as a Women’s Intercontinental Championship bout with Becky Lynch defending against AJ Lee. And while Giannis is just one of thousands watching at the United Center, fans will be hoping he returns to the court in the near future.

The 31-year-old forward has been sidelined for 13 consecutive games since suffering a right calf strain against the Denver Nuggets on Jan. 23.

Huge potential Elimination Chamber spoiler revealed about mystery box

Some interesting posts on Friday on

Over the past two weeks there has been a lot of speculation about what is in the boxes on Raw and SmackDown. A popular choice among fans is AEW alumni Danhausen. A guy who was reportedly set to become a free agent in the coming months. Well, some of his posts today might suggest that he is free from all the shackles of aristocracy. Both can be found below.

While his original deal was set to expire in July 2025, the promotion reportedly added injury time in 2023 due to a torn pectoral muscle, extending the agreement to February 2026. According to Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select, the extension was made against Danhausen’s wishes, as he requested that the company not pick up his injury-time option.

Danhausen did not appear on AEW or ROH television throughout 2025, with his last television appearance coming at ROH Final Battle in late 2024. Despite being under contract, he has been active on the independent scene, fueling rumors that his relationship with AEW management has become strained.

The “freedom” themed tweets immediately connected to a major story going on in WWE. For weeks, an unmarked wooden box has been traveling between Raw and SmackDown, with General Managers Adam Pearce and Nick Aldis under strict instructions not to open the box until February 28—the date of Elimination Chamber in Chicago.

Due to Danhausen’s real-life friendship with CM Punk and his mercurial appeal, he has emerged as a personal betting favorite inside the box. According to WrestleVotes Radio, WWE officials have internally discussed adding Danhausen to the NXT brand, where his character-driven style is expected to flourish.

Mike Johnson of PWInsider confirmed that AEW has not included Danhausen in creative plans for months, clearing the way for his exit. There has been no indication that Jericho’s AEW status has changed, as he remains on the roster page.

5 surprise predictions for WWE Elimination Chamber, including LA Knight’s big win

On Saturday night, WWE makes its final stop on the road to WrestleMania 42 with the 2026 edition of Elimination Chamber. This year’s event, of course, includes men’s and women’s Chamber matches to pit opponents for WWE Champion Drew McIntyre and WWE Women’s Champion Jade Cargill at April’s mega-event.

However, Becky Lynch will also put her Intercontinental belt on the line against her arch rival AJ Lee and CM Punk will defend the World Heavyweight Title against Finn Balor. There will definitely be a surprise or two in the company’s latest premium live event. With that in mind, we offer five predictions for potential surprises in the Elimination Chamber.

Dominic Mysterio defeated Finn Balor and CM Punk

Trouble has been going on inside Judgment Day for months. However, despite the ups and downs and injuries the group has remained united. However, it looks like a break is on the way and it is likely that Baylor will be out.

He is certain to lose his title rematch with Punk on Saturday. But will he lose clean for the second time in a row? It wouldn’t do the Irishman any favors if the company wanted to change his status and set up a special match at WrestleMania. Don’t be surprised if it costs his brother, Dom Mysterio, their match this weekend at Judgment Day, and it may not be due to an “accident.”

Raquel Rodriguez won the Women’s Elimination Chamber Match

elimination Chamber

Talking about Judgment Day, the bond between Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez was broken at the Royal Rumble when Liv Morgan eliminated the latter. Hopefully WWE will delve deeper into those issues and create a big controversy at Judgment Day on the road to WrestleMania.

Rodriguez is not a favorite to win the Women’s Chamber match on Saturday. But if he did, it would be interesting to have two members of the faction competing for championship gold at ‘Mania. Especially if one wins and the other doesn’t. Furthermore, Rodriguez deserves a major match at this event after some very good work over the past six months

LA Knight won the Men’s Elimination Chamber Match

Heading into Elimination Chamber 2026, reports suggest that Cody Rhodes will win the Men’s Chamber match. However, WWE fans don’t seem thrilled with the months-long feud between Rhodes and McIntyre continuing into April. And lower-than-expected ticket sales for WrestleMania may confirm that opinion. This match needs an unexpected winner.

This is why WWE could go in a completely unexpected direction and make fans happy by giving LA Knight a win in the Men’s Chamber match. This would add new excitement to ‘Mania and give Knight the push many fans have been wanting for the last year. It also allows the company to take Rhodes on unexpected paths to events.

Danhausen is Inside the Elimination Chamber Mystery Box

An outside-the-ring incident at Elimination Chamber reveals what is in the mystery box that cannot be opened until Saturday night. There has been much speculation about what or who might be inside, including a returning Chris Jericho.

However, reports claiming that “Y2J” is still under AEW contract make this unlikely. That’s why a different AEW alum may emerge, and that would be the very good and very bad guy known as Danhausen. Given that something has been inside the box for two weeks, it makes more sense for it to have a strange supernatural character. Not a living, breathing person.

AJ Lee defeated Becky Lynch for the Women’s Intercontinental Title

elimination Chamber

Since AJ Lee has been getting the better of Becky Lynch in their months-long rivalry, most expect the champion to successfully defend her title on Saturday night. However, we think the company is going in a different direction.

With Elimination Chamber taking place in Lee’s hometown of Chicago, it is more likely that he will get the win. A rematch would then be arranged at WrestleMania, where Lynch would seek revenge in the final match of their feud.

6 ideas for a WWE mystery box set that opens at Elimination Chamber, including a new Hardcore title

Wrestling fans love a good mystery, and WWE has one set for this month’s Elimination Chamber premium live event. On this week’s edition of WWE Raw, a mysterious box arrived on the Box Stage with a note that it would not be opened until February 28, which is the date of Elimination Chamber.

Ever since the mystery box arrived, there has been speculation about who or what would be inside it. With that in mind, we present six ideas for what WWE fans will find when the boxes open next Saturday.

Chris Jericho

Many fans and podcasters are hoping that the mystery box is somehow connected to the return of Chris Jericho. There have been rumors for several months that the WWE veteran’s AEW contract was set to expire at the end of 2025, and all signs were pointing towards a return to WWE this year. Bringing him back just in time for WrestleMania 42 makes sense.

However, a new report this week claims that he is still under contract with AEW after his contract expired last year. So the likelihood of him or anything related to him being in the box seems very slim.

denhausen

If there really is a person in the mystery box, it would make sense if they weren’t tied to real life. So it would require someone who has some supernatural elements in his character. That’s why it makes sense to have AEW veteran Danhausen in the box.

The box mirrors when Dracula is sent to England in the famous Bram Stoker book, and Danhausen is like a hilariously wrestling version of Nosferatu. If a creature is kept locked in that box for several weeks, it makes for a funny start to the beloved comedy-driven character.

New WWE Hardcore Championship

elimination Chamber

Many people have an assumption that the mystery box that is opened at the Elimination Chamber must contain a person, but it could be one thing, and that thing could be a new belt. However, instead of introducing a new title, it would not be surprising if the company brings back one of its former championships.

Considering how the box looks, the return of a hardcore title would be an ideal choice. That belt has long been a favorite among fans, but the type of matches it brought about was a unique aspect of the Attitude Era. Adding more violent matches to diversify the circus that is WWE and provide some talent a new path to fame would be a fun surprise on the road to WrestleMania.

‘Broken’ Matt Hardy and Brother Nero

elimination Chamber

Going back to the idea of a character with supernatural elements in the mysterious box. The second option is the unexpected return of the legendary duo, the Hardy Boyz. Recently, Matt Hardy claimed that the tag team will be on WWE TV again in 2026 after making several appearances on NXT last year.

But what if they came back to the company this time because their “Broken Universe” alter ego? Hardy being in TNA, but then the “Broken” version in WWE could be a fun confrontation and offer something unique for both brands. The characters that could potentially clash with Wyatt Six at WrestleMania could be something that will be established by his return.

New WWE European Title

elimination Chamber
Credit: WWE

In the past year, WWE has pushed hard into Europe and has begun doing live editions of Raw and SmackDown in major European cities. They have brought in even more European prospects in recent years.

That’s why now could be the right time for the return of the European title. When it comes to possible options for what’s in the mystery box, one possibility is the title being “shipped from Europe” for its return to WWE TV.

evil

Another guy who would be a wise choice to stay inside the box is former IWGP Champion EVIL. The longtime NJPW star reportedly recently became a free agent, and rumors claim he is linked to WWE. There are also some supernatural elements in his character. Therefore, the company is focused on how to present him to a North American audience unfamiliar with his work.
