Oilers fire head coach Chris Knoblauch

The Edmonton Oilers’ best-kept secret is now out.

Earlier this morning, TSN’s Ryan Rishaug announced the news on the social media platform X.

Bookmark the Edmonton Oilers on SportsNut so you don’t miss the latest news, rumors, opinions and more.

“The Oilers have relieved Chris Knoblauch of his coaching duties,” Rishaug wrote. This comes just days after rumors surfaced about the Oilers’ interest in speaking with former Vegas Golden Knights head coach Bruce Cassidy.

This also comes about eight hours after the 2 Mutts Hockey Podcast shared some insights in its report.

“We’re hearing tonight that the Edmonton Oilers and Chris Knoblauch are working toward mutual parting ways,” the post said. “An official announcement by the organization is expected soon. It is our understanding that some players are upset with how this leaked to the public and how it was handled by the management staff. Chris is well liked and respected by the players.”

“The Oilers are also working toward interviewing Bruce Cassidy this week, with Bruce being the leading candidate for the new head coaching position. There are a lot of moving parts here.”

Cassidy has been linked to both the Oilers and Los Angeles Kings.

There’s more to come, as this is a developing story.

(Cooperstown)?

5 NY Giants options with the 37th pick in the 2026 NFL Draft, including Chris Johnson

We’re just days away from the 2026 NFL Draft, and there’s a lot of excitement surrounding how the New York Giants will run the draft under head coach John Harbaugh.

The 63-year-old head coach would like to acquire players who fit his ideology and who can eventually become leaders of the team. Giants have seven draft picks, but only two in the top 100 (5)th and 37th Overall), making it even more important that they stick with their first two choices.

For months, there has been widespread speculation as to what the team would do with the fifth overall selection, but we’ll take a look at five options for them with Big Blue’s selection in Round 2.

Kaden McDonald DT, Ohio State

Syndication: The Columbus Dispatch
Adam Cairns/Columbus Dispatch/USA TODAY Network via Images

whether or not team trade Dexter Lawrence, at some point, they will have to address the interior defensive line. One player who would be ideal to replace or play alongside Lawrence is Ohio State defensive tackle Kayden McDonald.

The 6’2, 326-pound defensive lineman had a stellar junior season in 2025, where he started all 14 games and made 65 tackles, nine tackles for loss, three sacks, and was named a unanimous All-American.

He uses his strength and leverage to create obstacles between opposing offensive lines, allowing him or one of his teammates to make a play. He shows speed and a good change of direction, which allows him to play behind the line of scrimmage.

Chris JohnsonCB, San Diego State

NFL: Combine
Kirby Lee-Images Images

After losing starting corner Kor’Dale Flote in free agency, the team will look to add a corner at some point in the draft, and if Chris Johnson is still on the board at pick 37, he could be the newest addition to the team.

After recording only two interceptions in his first three seasons at San Diego State, Johnson had a breakout year as a senior, coming up with four interceptions and returning two of them for touchdowns. He also had 49 tackles, was credited with nine pass defenses, had one sack and one forced fumble.

The six-foot, 193-pound versatile corner has the footwork and ability to play outside and in the slot. He is also a vicious tackler and will be a great addition to defensive coordinator Denard Wilson’s unit.

Chase Bisontis G, Texas A&M

NCAA Football: CFP National Playoff First Round Game 2-Miami at Texas A&M
Jerome Miron-Imagen Images

One area of concern on the Giants roster is the interior offensive line. That’s why Texas A&M guard Chase Bissontis is a viable option in the second round. The versatile offensive lineman played both the guard position as well as right tackle during his three years at Texas A&M.

The 6’5 315 pound lineman has a ton of experience, having appeared in 36 games, which is a quality New York always looks for. He showed his athletic ability when he ran a 5.02 40 time. He is equipped with all the tools to provide immediate protection, such as strength, tenacity and solid footwork.

He is one of the best interior offensive linemen in this draft, and if New York can get him at age 37, he could be one of the best players in the draft.

CJ Allen LB, Georgia

NCAA Football: Georgia and Georgia Tech
Brett Davis-Imagen Images

Some believe that CJ Allen is the second-best off-the-ball linebacker in this draft behind Sonny Styles, and with good reason, as he was named a First-Team All-American in 2025 after recording 88 tackles.

In his three years at Georgia, he had 205 tackles, 13½ tackles for loss, four½ sacks, two forced fumbles and one interception. Not only can he make tackles all over the field, but he hides his attacks well and should be able to produce a handful of sacks a season.

If Big Blue takes Styles in the first round, Allen should be at the top of their board in the second round.

Keelan Rutledge, Georgia Tech

NFL: Combine
Jacob Musselman-Imagen Images

Another offensive guard who may be on New York’s radar is Georgia Tech’s Kylan Rutledge. Rutledge spent his first two seasons with Middle Tennessee State before coming to Georgia Tech in 2024.

He appeared in a total of 48 games and started 43 of them, allowing only two sacks, and was named a Third-Team All-American in 2025. In his final season, he had 440 pass blocking snaps and did not allow a sack.

The 6’3, 316 pound guard has built a reputation as a mauler, but is also athletic and runs a 5.05, and is capable of reaching the second level in run blocking in the combo block concept. If New York takes him with 37th Overall, he will be one of the starting guards in Week 1.

Big update on why Chris Jericho chose AEW over rumored return to WWE

Some new details have emerged on why Chris Jericho was rumored to be returning to WWE and why he returned to AEW on Wednesday night.

For months, rumors and reports have been swirling that the wrestling legend’s tenure in AEW was coming to an end, and that he would likely be heading back to the company that made him a household name, WWE. However, this past week, things changed as he remained on AEW’s roster page and filed a trademark for the term “Cornerstone”. A potential moniker that would seem to be a better fit in All Elite Wrestling.

This led to speculation that he would indeed remain at the company he signed with in 2019. The rumors became reality when Jericho made his grand return to AEW Dynamite on Wednesday in the city where he grew up, Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada.

On Thursday morning, fans of both companies got some new information as to why the 55-year-old may have opted to go back to AEW instead of returning to WWE.

Is Chris Jericho still close to retirement?

“I know I was told so [WWE] “They wanted to take him on a retirement tour,” reported Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer. “And maybe he didn’t want to, but I don’t know… With AEW, maybe he was going to have more longevity.” There are a lot of benefits for AEW and there is always money.

“AEW is a little riskier in that sense… He’ll probably have more input than he does in WWE about what he’s going to do in AEW, but I think he’ll have a better audience in WWE. Better audience, that’s definitely part of the deal, but money is part of the deal.”

Meltzer said that after recent speculation that Jericho could return at WrestleMania 42, a source informed him that he will be in Winnipeg this week for Dynamite. When he then reached out to a WWE source, he revealed that initially it seemed like he would return, but as of this week, it is no longer in the cards.

If WWE had been firm about doing a retirement tour, possibly for a year, it could have been a deal breaker as he just feels like he’s not ready to hang up his boots yet. And AEW is probably more willing to let him wrestle because he’s close to 60 years old.

‘Bad Cow’ cost WWE fans a chance to see Chris Jericho and Shawn Michaels team up?

It seems that hunger and a tough slice of steak cost WWE fans the chance to see the unexpected alliance between bitter rivals Chris Jericho and Shawn Michaels.

During the 2000s, there was very little light for WWE. However, one of the best spots was the rivalry between Jericho and Michaels. Its first peak came with a match at WrestleMania 19 which was later won, but then he received a low blow from his opponent. Then, when Jericho won the World Heavyweight Title in 2008.

The pair of current and future Hall of Famers created magic together. Be it a war of words or in the ring. Without a doubt, they were some of each other’s greatest rivals during their legendary careers. However, a few years later, Jericho actually advocated for hated enemies to become allies to solve a shared problem.

“The idea was a storyline involving Bray Wyatt and Shawn Michaels,” Jericho told Game Hub. “The premise was that the Wyatt Family would attack me, and the only person I could call that was crazy enough to have my back was Shawn — even after our rivalry.

“He comes back to confront me, and just as we were about to go at him, the Wyatt Family attacks both of us. Now you don’t know if Shawn was going to accept my offer or not, but he’s in it,” he said. “With the SummerSlam match in mind, it would be Jericho and HBK against The Wyatt Family. That was a really solid pitch.”

Chris Jericho and Shawn Michaels never teamed up because of bad steaks?

jericho
Credit: WWE

This idea sounds like fun and would definitely benefit the Wyatt Family as they look to establish themselves on the main roster. However, the idea was turned down by then-WWE boss Vince McMahon. Jericho claims that the pitch failed because he spoke to the company’s founder at the worst possible time. during lunch.

Jericho claimed, “When Vince is eating, he’s not paying attention to anything else.” “…Vince was sitting there eating his steak, and when I finished, he said, ‘Bad cow.’ I said, ‘What?’ He says, ‘Bad cow – the steak is tough.’ I said, what do you think about my pitch?

“He says, ‘What else do you have?’ The steak destroyed the entire angle. But that’s the nature of working for Vince – if he doesn’t like it, you’re done. To some extent, it is the same with Tony. You have to please your boss.”

So Hunger and a “Bad Guy” ended the chance for WWE fans to see Jericho and Michaels unite against the Wyatt Family.

Chris Finch’s tough confession on Mike Connelly’s decision to remove him

Mike Conley’s playing time has declined significantly this season with the Minnesota Timberwolves, as the team aims to introduce younger players into the lineup. Although this is the case, head coach Chris Finch admits it is difficult not to play the 19-year-old veteran.

Speaking to media members on Tuesday, Finch admitted that removing the 38-year-old point guard from the rotation is one of the toughest decisions he has made in his coaching career, according to Timberwolves reporter Dan Moore. Finch compared not playing with Conley to being on offense.

“Honestly, it’s one of the hardest things I’ve ever had to do in coaching,” Finch said of benching Conley. “Especially with who he is as a person and professional, and everything he’s done for us. Feels like a crime against humanity.”

Mike Conley has played in 47 games for the Timberwolves this season, starting nine of those contests. His playing time decreased shortly after as he was traded twice this season (first to the Chicago Bulls, then to the Charlotte Hornets) before being released by Charlotte, only to re-sign with Minnesota.

In the games he played, Conley averaged career lows in minutes (17.8), points (4.1), rebounds (1.7), assists (2.9), and steals (0.6). His field goal percentage (31.5%) and three-point percentage (31.1%) are also career lows.

Conley is scheduled to be an unrestricted free agent after the 2025-26 campaign. The one-time All-Star will get an opportunity to sign with a new team in the offseason. However, due to lack of playing time and his age, it is likely that Mike Conley will retire after this season.

Chris Finch criticizes Julius Randle’s effort in loss to Blazers

The Minnesota Timberwolves lost to the Portland Trail Blazers 108-104 on Friday night. After the loss, head coach Chris Finch criticized Julius Randle for his effort, or lack thereof, on the glass.

According to Timberwolves reporter Dan Moore, speaking to media members on Saturday morning, Finch name-dropped Randle when he criticized his team for struggling to rebound the ball in recent games. Finch is clearly not impressed with the 31-year-old’s stellar efforts.

“We just have to get the rebound, and we can’t,” Finch said. “From the time the shot goes up, it takes a while… It’s been like that for a while. It’s not good enough… Julius has three defensive rebounds, which is not good enough. Just not good enough.”

Julius Randle finished Friday’s contest with 19 points (team high), five rebounds, four assists and one steal. He shot only 37.5% from the floor and failed to record a single three-point shot. Rudy Gobert (15 boards) and Ayo Dosunmu (10 boards) led the Timberwolves in rebounding against the Blazers.

Chris Finch, who is 56, might be right to call out the 12-year veteran for his bruising struggles. Randle is averaging a career-low 6.8 rebounds per contest this season. In fact, his rebounding numbers have decreased in every season since the 2022-23 campaign.

In 71 games played this year, Julius Randle is averaging 21.2 points, 5.1 assists and 1.1 steals per game. He is shooting 48.4% from the field and 31.4% from beyond the three-point line. Randle will have another chance to return as a rebounder on Sunday when the Timberwolves take on the Boston Celtics.

Chris Finch addresses Rudy Gobert’s pass-catching issues

While Rudy Gobert is undoubtedly one of the league’s most complete centers, certain aspects of his offensive game have come under closer scrutiny recently. Among them is his pass-catching ability, with many critics noting how he struggles to catch passes in traffic or during sharp dives, which inadvertently causes turnovers for the Minnesota Timberwolves.

According to a post on X by Dan Moore, that aspect of his game was brought up during Chris Finch’s press conference after his team’s 147-111 win over the Utah Jazz.

“They know if Rudy drops one of his passes, don’t look to me for sympathy, because sometimes he’s going to do that. I tell them to keep throwing them. We have to. It’s more worth it… I’ll take some of those turnovers if we’re trying to make the right play,” Finch said, effectively claiming that he wants his team to continue passing it to Gobert despite the turnovers.

Of course, it paid off in Minnesota’s latest outing, where Gobert was once again dominant defensively, but he had a few incidents with his pass-catching. The French international still finished with his second consecutive double-double with 21 points and 12 rebounds.

He went 9-12 from the field and also had a steal and two blocks. Gobert continues to be a great interior threat offensively, despite currently averaging 10.8 points and 11.4 rebounds per game, which is his lowest scoring since the 2015–16 campaign.

Regardless, against the Jazz, the Timberwolves saw Ayo Dosunmu top scoring with 23 points in the absence of Anthony Edwards, with Julius Randle also finishing with 21 points. The latter also recorded eight assists and four steals against Utah.

Additionally, Bones Highland scored 18 points off the bench, going 3-7 from three-point field. For the Jazz, Bryce Sensabaugh top-scored with 41 points, while Ace Bailey and Isaiah Collier added 17 and 14 points, respectively. Minnesota will now host the Portland Trail Blazers while the Jazz will take on the Milwaukee Bucks in the next match.

Top draft expert predicts Chiefs have controversial possibility of replacing Chris Jones with first pick

A new mock draft from one of the top experts for the event believes the Kansas City Chiefs will use the first of their two picks in Round 1 of next month’s event on a controversial prospect in this year’s class.

As we pass the midpoint of March, we get even closer to the biggest event of April, the 2026 NFL Draft. After a rare losing season in 2025, the Chiefs’ selection next month becomes even more important. And after making a big trade this offseason that sent Trent McDuffie back to the Los Angeles Rams, including another first-round pick this year, Kansas City has a chance to get two top-30 prospects.

But who will the Chiefs select with their valuable pick at No. 9? There has been a lot of speculation about who they would take, and they would be wise to go after the best cornerback available to replace the All-Pro they just traded. He has also been linked to Heisman Trophy finalist Jeremiah Love. The player teams around the NFL are praying they don’t fall for.

Could the Chiefs select Reuben Benn Jr. at No. 9?

Chiefs
Mark J. rebilas-imagen images

Well, according to ESPN NFL Draft expert Mel Kiper, he expects general manager Brett Veach to go in a different direction. In his latest mock draft, Draft Guru projects the Chiefs to select Miami star Reuben Benn Jr.

The Hurricanes defensive end became a controversial figure during the NFL Combine last month when it was revealed that his average arm length was 30 7/8 inches. There hasn’t been a player with fewer weapons in Round 1 of the draft since the Philadelphia Eagles used the 15th overall pick on fellow Miami alumnus Jerome McDougald in 2003. The length of his arm was 31 3/8 inches.

McDougald was a notable draft bust of that year’s class and played only four seasons in the NFL. Nevertheless, Kipper believes that Chiefs cannot afford to miss the chance to select Bane if he is still on board and they are at No.9.

He wrote, “It will be very difficult to overtake Ben at this position. Despite 30⅞-inch arms, which caused quite a stir at the combine, Ben dominates the sideline.” “He easily finds ways to get to the QB, whether it’s his speed, power or intelligence. Last season he had 71 pressures with 9.5 sacks and 18.5 tackles for loss.”

Star pass rusher Chris Jones has shown clear signs of age-related decline over the past few seasons. While he and Benn play different positions, the Chiefs need to start planning for life after Jones and develop a new top pass rusher. Ben can be that player.

Chris Finch calls out the ref after bad loss to Thunder

OKLAHOMA CITY – Minnesota Timberwolves head coach Chris Finch had some words for the officials after Sunday’s 116-103 loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder. After Timberwolves All-Star Anthony Edwards was cleared to play in a matinee on the road, Minnesota trailed in the final frame, where the Thunder outscored their opponent 36–27.

In the second half, the Thunder took a two-point lead amid a tough contest. Then, Edwards fouled Shai Gilgeous-Alexander on a 3-point play, turning Oklahoma City’s 13-point lead into a 16-point lead. According to Thunder Wire’s Clemente Almanza, he said, Finch did not back down from his complaint with the officials related to Edwards’ serious foul on Gilgeous-Alexander.

“The first one was probably a foul. What was unfortunate was they called a little grab on the inbounds play. It’s going on all over the place,” Finch said. “I still maintain that he doesn’t get as much respect defensively as he should. If you watch his guys play defense, they get caught a lot, which is OK. That’s part of the game. Then, you call him out – take him straight out of the game – that was tough for us.”

A reporter’s follow-up question focused on Isaiah Hartenstein, who returned to the Thunder’s lineup from a calf injury, and the starting center’s impact from the top of the key, where he did his damage passing and setting screens.

“We fell behind them a little bit,” Finch said. “Back then, we weren’t in a position to make emergency assists, you know. Had to struggle through those screens. We know he’s a playmaker. That’s what he does. Thought some of them were highly questionable whether they were legal or not, it didn’t matter. Got to struggle and you had to miss them.”

Edwards, who spent time in front of Gilgeous-Alexander all day, finished with 19 points on 6-for-17 shooting, including 2 of 5 from deep, six rebounds, five assists, a block and a steal against the Thunder.

While the final score between the Thunder and Timberwolves showed a 13-point difference, this Western Conference Finals matchup was much more competitive than the scores indicated. Anthony Edwards had a valiant all-around effort on both ends of the floor in the 127-117 win after his 40-point game. Timberwolves head coach Chris Finch just wants his team not to fall behind.

However, the Thunder showed their depth around All-Stars Shai Gilgeous-Alexander (20 points) and Chet Holmgren (21 points), who combined to score 41 points, while Isaiah Joe scored 20 of the Thunder’s 61 points off the bench. Alex Caruso added 17 points, and Jared McCain connected on five 3-pointers.

Chris Finch opens up about defensive problems ahead of Clippers clash

The Minnesota Timberwolves visit the Los Angeles Clippers at the Intuit Dome on Wednesday in a marquee matchup in the Western Conference.

The Timberwolves are trying to break a two-game skid, while the Clippers have been on a roll recently, winning five of their last six games, with Kawhi Leonard playing at an MVP level.

Stopping Leonard will require a collective effort from Minnesota, with Anthony Edwards and Jaden McDaniels being the primary on-ball stoppers. But clearly, Rudy Gobert remains their defensive anchor.

The Athletic’s Law Miller points to significant decline in Timberwolves defensive efficiency When Gobert is off the field this season. When asked about it, Minnesota coach Chris Finch emphasized Gobert’s importance and acknowledged his shortcomings.

“When he’s off the floor, we need to protect the rim differently. Better on the ball, better around the ball and earlier at the rim. Obviously, we’ve been inconsistent at times with things like that this year,” Finch said.

“He’s huge for us. It takes some nuances to play with a guy like Rudy. When he’s off the field, you have to transition to a different mentality defensively.”

Many have mocked the 33-year-old Gobert for his lack of offensive skills and awkward antics. But there’s no denying that he can be a game-changer on the defensive end.

He’s not a four-time Defensive Player of the Year for nothing.

Edwards has often talked about his defensive identity and how important it is for him and Gobert to set the tone.

Entering their game against the Clippers, the Timberwolves are allowing 114.5 points per game. But as Finch said, there is still room for improvement overall.

At the time of writing, there is a close game between Minnesota and Los Angeles in the first half.

Chris learns that sharing his toy ingredients makes the game last longer and move smoother. For parents watching on đá gà tv, this segment serves as a visual blueprint for teaching “turn-taking” without the stress of real-world consequences.

2. The Ice Cream Truck Adventure

At the 03:37 mark, Chris and Niki explore Mom’s ice cream truck. This isn’t just about sweets; it’s about cognitive categorization. They must identify colors, flavors, and currency. Using LSI keywords like early childhood development, social-emotional learning, and sensory play, we see how Chris navigates these complex social environments through the lens of fun.

3. Inflatable Fun: Learning Boundaries

By 08:23, the focus shifts to large-scale motor skills. Sharing inflatable toys requires physical coordination and space awareness. Chris and Mom demonstrate that physical play is just as important as mental play in building a well-rounded child.

4. Global Exploration: Learning Countries

Commonly, parents ask how to introduce geography to toddlers. In our final segment (12:55), Chris uses visual aids to learn about different countries. This builds a foundation for global citizenship and curiosity about the world beyond their backyard.

Chris Finch reveals Minnesota’s biggest breakdown vs. Magic

Chris Finch reveals what went wrong in the Minnesota Timberwolves’ 119-92 loss to the Orlando Magic on Saturday night.

Finch is in the sixth season of his head coaching career with the Timberwolves. He hopes to lead the franchise to its third consecutive Western Conference Finals appearance, while attempting to reach the NBA Finals for the first time in history.

However, they have to go through ups and downs in the regular season. According to reporter Dan Moore, their blowout loss to the Magic was an example of the latter, as Finch explained after the game why the team did not play up to its usual high standards.

Finch said, “I thought there was a massive effort. I thought there were a lot of gameplan breakdowns that really hurt us. They may have looked like lack of effort playing games, but I think they were more mental lapses than physical effort.”

Chris Finch, how the Timberwolves performed against the Magic

Chris Finch knows the Timberwolves are capable of beating the Magic. However, his performance on both sides of the ball left much to be desired all night.

Four players scored in double figures for Minnesota in the win. Anthony Edwards led the way with a stat line of 34 points, three rebounds, two assists, two steals and two blocks. He made 8 of 18 shots from the field, including 5 of 9 from beyond the arc, and 13 of 14 from the free-throw line. Julius Randle came next with 14 points and nine rebounds, Naz Reed had 13 points and eight rebounds, while Rudy Gobert provided 12 points and eight rebounds.

Minnesota fell to a 40–24 record on the season and finished fourth in the Western Conference standings. They are above the Denver Nuggets and Los Angeles Lakers, while trailing the Houston Rockets and San Antonio Spurs.

The Timberwolves will look to bounce back in their next game while on the road. They will face the Lakers as tip-off takes place on March 10 at 11 pm ET.

DeAndre Jordan defends Chris Paul after Clippers’ ugly finish and retirement

INGLEWOOD, Calif. – From the league’s investigation into starting the 2025-26 regular season to the shocking trades of James Harden and Ivica Zubac at the NBA trade deadline, this LA Clippers season has felt like two or three entire seasons rolled into one.

Elsewhere, the Clippers parted ways with a future Hall-of-Famer and the best player in franchise history in Chris Paul. Paul’s departure was a surprise to everyone in the league, drawing an outcry in support of Paul and heavy criticism for the Clippers, especially given the fact that it was his final season in the NBA.

After missing the NBA trade deadline and not being able to find a new home to finish the season, Chris Paul officially retired from the NBA at All-Star Weekend. This ended an illustrious 21-year NBA career and left only one member of the “Lob City Clippers”: DeAndre Jordan.

The center, playing in his 18th season in the NBA, is still going strong and is currently a starter for the New Orleans Pelicans.

In an exclusive interview following Paul’s retirement, Jordan told ClutchPoints that he is loyal to his former All-Star teammate.

“Oh, that’s my boy, man,” DeAndre Jordan says in an exclusive interview. “Chris helped my career tremendously, so no one can tell me anything bad about CP. He’s a Hall-of-Famer. He’s done a lot for this game. He’s helped a lot of young players, big guys, helped with IQ, you know. And then things off the court. He does a lot for kids and HBCU schools and everything. So it’s great to see him continue to be the same personality and life he has for people.”

Mark J. rebilas-imagen images

Of the 243 teammates DeAndre Jordan shared the floor with during his 18-year NBA career, only Blake Griffin (543 games played) has played more games with Jordan than second-place Chris Paul (459 games played). The Jordan and Paul duo played in 406 regular season games in addition to 53 playoff games in six regular season games. The two had a .658 winning percentage, going 302–157 together in those 459 games.

Jordan is the player with whom Paul has played more games than anyone else in his 20-year NBA career, totaling 249 teammates.

With Chris Paul, Blake Griffin and DeAndre Jordan all playing 338 games together, the Clippers compiled a 232–106 record (.686 winning percentage) while notching five consecutive 50-win seasons after the franchise had not recorded a single 50-win campaign in the previous 42 years.

That’s why stepping inside the Intuit Dome holds a special meaning for Jordan, who recognizes the enormity of the foundation laid by Paul, Griffin and himself from 2011-2017, despite never winning an NBA championship for the franchise.

Jordan said, “I mean, yes, obviously the three of us, but Steve Ballmer has done an amazing job with the organization, and the Clippers finally have their own arena, it’s good to see.” “It’s something we talked about for so long during my tenure here, spending 10 years here. But, you know, it’s cool, man. I love seeing Clippers Nation continue to grow and expand. That fan base that was amazing for my time here, and they continue to be amazing.”

Chris Paul joined the Clippers for his final season in the summer of 2025 with the understanding that he probably wouldn’t play much, but also that his tough leadership style would have to be reignited. The team struggled to start the season and, as they fell down the standings, league sources told ClutchPoints that Paul’s aggressive methods persisted to the extent that he got into a heated argument with assistant coach Jeff Van Gundy over changing the defensive scheme mid-game. Paul was later seen looking visibly upset during the team’s flight to Miami a day before being sent home by the Clippers.

The way the Clippers moved on from Paul — their franchise legend, in the middle of a night, on a multi-game East Coast road trip — set off a lot of alarms for people around the league.

DeAndre Jordan believes that Chris Paul’s leadership style is very specific, and it is that style that he finds essential to his career.

“I think he’s amazing,” DeAndre Jordan told ClutchPoints. “Yeah, he’s gonna push you, he’s gonna challenge you to be the best player. He’s gonna bark at you. And you know, it’s his Napoleon complex. But I mean, sh*t, for me, I needed it. And some players need it. Some guys don’t want to be challenged, and that’s OK. But I think if you ask any player, they’d want CP on their team.”

With Chris Paul, DeAndre Jordan developed into an NBA All-Star in the 2016–17 season, completing his six-year tenure with Paul earning two All-Defensive First Team selections, two All-NBA Third Team selections, an All-NBA First Team selection and a two-time rebounding champion, while being voted in the top four in Defensive Player of the Year voting three years in a row.

Chris Paul finished his NBA career playing 21 seasons and exactly 425 regular season games for both the Clippers and New Orleans Hornets franchises. Despite the rough ending to this season, the Clippers are hopeful that time will heal all wounds and they will one day be able to retire the jerseys of DeAndre Jordan, Chris Paul and Blake Griffin inside the Intuit Dome.

“I’m happy with his career,” Jordan said. “I wish her ending would have been a little different, selfishly, obviously, but I’m sure she’s at peace with it.”

Chris Jericho tells impatient wrestling fans to ‘shut the fuck up’

Chris Jericho has responded to fans who criticize the pace of long-term storytelling. Speaking on the Untapped podcast with Spencer Matthews, the former AEW World Champion defended the “slow-burn” approach that has defined much of his career.

Jericho argued that the most impressive rivalries – such as his year-long program with MJF or his historic 2008 feud with Shawn Michaels – require patience to reach their full potential. He believes that today’s fans often demand an immediate payoff rather than progressing the story.

Jericho used the film Saving Private Ryan as a metaphor for his creative approach, and emphasized that a story should only be evaluated after the final chapter has been written. He shared his frustration with viewers who dismiss a rivalry midway through its execution, comparing it to leaving a movie theater before the climax.

Jericho said, “I like long-term stories. My favorite stories are always the ones that last for months, you have to be creative. You don’t have to be on the show every week, both guys don’t have to be on the show every week.” “I always love wrestling fans, especially modern ones, who want to know the answer right now, give us the answer right now!

“If I’m watching Saving Private Ryan, it’s 3 hours long… If I say, ‘This movie, they haven’t got Ryan yet. This movie sucks! It’s stupid! It’s too long!’ I hear it every day from wrestling fans,” he said. “My point is to shut the fuck up and let me tell my story when it’s over.”

“The Learning Tree” has not appeared on AEW programming since April 2025, when he disbanded his faction and informed partners Big Bill and Brian Keith that he would be taking an extended hiatus. The report from Fightful Select reveals that while his contract was originally set to expire in December 2025, AEW management has “paused” the deal in consideration of his time away.

This interruption typically occurs when an artist takes significant time off for outside ventures, such as Jericho’s recent United Kingdom tour with his band, Fozzie. Despite heavy speculation about a possible WrestleMania 42 return to WWE, Jericho is listed on the official AEW roster page. Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter stated that Triple H has reportedly expressed interest in a retirement tour for the veteran, but that no formal negotiations can occur until his current obligations to Tony Khan are completed.

DeAndre Jordan breaks silence on Chris Paul’s retirement

The NBA world saw one of the greatest players in history hang up his sneakers last weekend when Chris Paul officially announced his retirement from professional basketball. From his stellar debut with the New Orleans Hornets to his final full season with the San Antonio Spurs, the guard who quickly became known as “CP3” finished his NBA career as arguably the greatest point guard of all time.

Chris Paul spent six full seasons with the LA Clippers franchise, from when he was traded to Los Angeles in 2011 until he was traded to the Houston Rockets in the 2017 offseason.

Of the 249 teammates Chris Paul shared the floor with during his 20-year NBA career, no one played more games with Paul than former Clippers All-Star center DeAndre Jordan. The two played 406 regular season games together in addition to 53 playoff games. The two had a .658 winning percentage, going 302–157 together in those 459 games.

Paul announcing his retirement in the middle of All-Star weekend was somewhat of a surprise, given that the guard was looking for a team to play for and was ending his NBA career. But no team formed and Paul decided to call it quits.

Just weeks after his former teammate announced his official retirement, DeAndre Jordan shared a touching message on Instagram on Friday.

“Can’t believe I’m making a retirement post for your old man! I still remember when we found out we were getting CP3 and the “Lob City” run was born. It still feels like yesterday. Some of the greatest years of my life.

Let me be the first to congratulate you on your amazing basketball career! You have won countless accolades and done a lot for the game. However, the greatest achievement that I have seen in you is your love and dedication towards your family.

Thank you for always encouraging me, even when I wasn’t trying to hear it. ??? You were teammates then and have become brothers forever and I’m grateful.

Enjoy this next chapter of life and the journey. Here’s to more pars and birdies! to encourage

DeAndre Jordan was the full-time starter for the Clippers when Chris Paul arrived, but under head coach Doc Rivers, became a 34-minute-per-night player for the Clippers starting in the 2013–14 season. From the 2023–14 season where he played with CP3, Jordan averaged 11.8 points, 14 rebounds and 2.2 blocks per game while being named to his first NBA All-Star team in the 2016–17 season. Jordan was also a two-time rebounding champion, a three-time All-NBA selection and a two-time All-Defensive Team selection.

Chris Paul finished his NBA career playing 1,370 career games in the regular season, averaging 16.8 points, 4.4 rebounds, 9.2 assists and 2.0 steals per game, while shooting 46.9 percent from the field and 37 percent from three. Paul finished his illustrious, 20-year NBA career as a 12-time NBA All-Star, 11-time All-NBA member, nine-time All-Defensive Team member, six-time steals champion, and five-time assists champion.

Chris Bosh reveals terrifying medical scare

Chris Bosh said he recently experienced a frightening medical emergency that made him think about life and urgency, revealing in a social media video that he woke up “covered in his own blood.”

The NBA Hall of Famer explained how the episode suddenly unfolded without warning in a video posted to X, formerly known as Twitter, on Wednesday.

“So, I woke up covered in my own blood. It was crazy, it was fast, it was instant. There was no warning. I had no time to prepare for it. I was getting ready to go on a date with my wife and the next thing you know, I was on the ground,” Bosh said. “I won’t go into specifics, but you can see I’m still healing. If I looked different I wouldn’t try to hide it, but it was a scary thing and it came fast. And it really gave me a different perspective on life and how things go – what we do for ourselves, what we do for our family. It’s how we live our lives and no matter what it is, make sure you don’t wait. That’s the thing.” That’s what I get from it. Don’t wait to take action.”

Bosh, 41, did not reveal the exact medical cause of the incident, but emphasized how quickly it happened and how fortunate he felt afterward.

“Because it can come fast, it can come quickly, and I’m lucky to be alive and I feel great about that. And now I’m thinking about how I live my daily life. That’s really it. But don’t wait. Don’t wait to take action — you might be looking to get a promotion, you might be looking to try out for the team, you might want to go on that vacation, it could be a lot of different things that people want to do, that’s what we want to do.” And never do it. So, that’s what I get from this. Don’t wait for it.”

Chris Bosh reflects on near-death moment years after blood clot diagnosis

Scott Wachter-USA TODAY Sports

He concluded:

“Just do it. You might hit the deck, I don’t know. I’m lucky, I came back. It was just darkness, it was nothing else. I went into the darkness, I came back. I don’t remember any, I have no memories except coming back here. So, don’t wait up.”

Bosh’s medical scare has come several years after his NBA career was cut short due to repeated blood clots, a condition that first surfaced during the 2014–15 season with the Miami Heat. The diagnosis sidelined him for a considerable period of time and ultimately led to his retirement after the 2015–16 campaign. At that time, doctors determined that continued play could pose serious health risks.

Bosh, who won two NBA championships with the Heat, averaged 19.2 points and 8.5 rebounds during his 13-year career, which also included seven seasons with the Toronto Raptors. He was inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in 2021.

Although he did not directly link the recent incident to his previous history of blood clots, Bosh’s message focused on urgency and gratitude, underscoring how quickly circumstances can change.

The former All-Star said the experience reshaped his daily outlook, strengthening his belief that action should not be postponed.

Chris Finch gives ‘very serious’ update on Julius Randle

Julius Randle had a tough performance against the Philadelphia 76ers. The Minnesota Timberwolves star forward had an uncharacteristically quiet game on Sunday night. He had 18 points in the game, but he was quiet everywhere else, too. He recorded 15 points, and what’s even more worrying is that he only had three boards and three assists.

For a player who serves as the center of attack and the lead defender, this is an unacceptable performance. Timberwolves head coach Chris Finch has an explanation for why Randle’s play was so bad today.

“Finch said Julius Randle was “pretty seriously screwed” tonight,” John Krawczynski reported on X. “Only 3 boards and 3 assists from him.”

Randle was -20 in his 31 minutes of action against the 76ers, and made only one of his five three-point attempts. The former All-Star was largely ineffective for the Timberwolves in the game, as they struggled to gain momentum. Minnesota lost to Philadelphia 135–108, despite Joel Embiid missing the game for the 76ers and star guard Anthony Edwards scoring 28 points.

The Timberwolves were also playing with key players. Star center Rudy Gobert was out against the 76ers with a suspension after committing his seventh flagrant foul a few days earlier. Meanwhile, Sixth Man of the Year contender Naz Reid is also out with injury. Philadelphia’s physicality forced the shorthanded Wolves into 21 turnovers, Randle forced two while Edwards forced seven.

“They were good physically, they’re good defensively, they’re super hands-on, they’re active in gaps,” Finch said. “We struggled in the game. We got into traffic, we didn’t get the ball early. All those things that happen when you play in a rush.”

The Wolves’ record is now 35-23. Despite the loss, losses to the remaining Western Conference contenders meant the Timberwolves were still within striking distance of the third seed and still in control of the sixth seed in the conference.

Chris Paul chooses between Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Luka Doncic at PG

The role of point guard in the NBA has changed markedly in the modern game, with the true point guard becoming almost a rarity. Combo guards like Oklahoma City Thunder star Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Los Angeles Lakers star Luka Doncic are prototypes for point guards in today’s NBA. Chris Paul, who recently announced his retirement, revealed his preference for who he would like to run.

During a recent episode of Carmelo Anthony’s podcast, ‘7 PM in Brooklyn,’ Chris Paul said he would take Shai Gilgeous-Alexander over Luka Doncic, who he would like to play point guard in the NBA.

“We’ll be on the road, watching the game, but that [Shai] I would like to go to the gym. Loves going to the gym, will do all the work and takes care of his body. And I think the year we played together, they also started to see that defense matters,” Paul said. “You don’t have to be a lockdown defender or anything, but when you’re playing defense for your team, your teammates just want to see that starter really try to play defense.”

“When I was in Houston, Steph [Curry] He wasn’t the greatest defender back then,” Paul continued. “But now, Steph, he’s up the D. He plays really good defense. I have a lot of respect for Steph, Shai and all these guys who at least put in the effort on the defensive end because that’s part of it and that’s what your teammates want to see.

Defense is clearly the deciding factor for Paul in terms of who is the better option at point guard between Gilgeous-Alexander and Doncic.

Is Minnesota better in 2025-26 than 2024-25? Chris Finch’s weight is

The Minnesota Timberwolves are stuck in a dogfight in the Western Conference, as they remain sixth in the standings despite easily defeating the Dallas Mavericks 122-111 in their first game after the All-Star break. It’s going to be tough going forward, which in turn will force the Timberwolves to raise their standards so they can surpass their peers.

However, at this point, the Timberwolves are looking for ways to be better than the team they were the day before and the day before that. They are not exactly keeping themselves on par with others; What is important for them is that they reach their full potential.

However, currently, head coach Chris Finch said he does not know if the Timberwolves are there yet, especially when compared to last season.

“When you sit back and look at it, we have very high internal expectations. If you take the temperature of the team internally, we’ll probably be a little disappointed with where we are. We feel like we should be a little more forward. We’ve been inconsistent on our defense at times, that’s hurt us. The West is even more competitive this year,” Finch said, via Dan Moore, Timberwolves beat reporter.

“I don’t know if we’re better or not. We’ll evaluate that at the end of the season. But we know who we need to be when we become a good team. And sometimes we stray from that.”

Timberwolves know next step is to get over the hump

The Timberwolves may have made the conference finals in 2024 and 2025, but they weren’t exactly competitive once they got there. They lost to the Dallas Mavericks and Oklahoma City Thunder in five games; They gave up a few winnable games against the Mavs, but against the Thunder, they trailed for most of the five-game series.

The challenge has not been easy for the Timberwolves. Thunder is still looming. The Nuggets have a lot of depth. But he has the ability to overcome the hump, that is for sure.

Chris Paul puts rivalry aside, credits Rajon Rondo with high praise

It is a well-known fact that NBA legends Chris Paul and Rajon Rondo have a long-standing rivalry that dates back to the late 2000s, which ultimately resulted in controversy in 2018 when the two played for the Houston Rockets and Los Angeles Lakers respectively.

However, sport knows sport, and Paul quickly put aside this long-standing feud when asked about the NBA players with the best attitude on the court.

“When you even say court vision. Rondo, I would say Rondo. Rondo got one of the worst passes ever when he threw a behind-the-back pass into the corner,” Paul said during his appearance on the In Brooklyn podcast at 7 p.m. CP13 just debuted and went into detail about what really set the Rondo apart.

“If you watch sports over the years. You’ll watch teams over the years, you’ll see teams get rebounds, and you can see me being like, ‘Yo, yo, yo, let me get it.’ Rondo was the same way, right. Like, let me get the ball, let me get the ball. It’s because everyone’s like, ‘Oh, he’s got to have the ball.’ It’s like, no. We all have a job to do, I know who I am. I’m not a finisher,” he said.

Some would say similar things about Chris Paul, though the point guard could also score at will during his long time in the league. Nonetheless, both Paul and Rondo fall into the category of truly intelligent players who can control a game on their own regardless of their competition.

Rondo’s exclusion from the 2008 Olympics “Redeem Team” roster, which also included Paul, was seen as an early flashpoint. On the court, the rivalry escalated when Rondo reportedly reminded Paul of Boston’s championship lead during a heated 2009 argument.

However, the largest incident occurred during the 2018 Lakers-Rockets brawl, when a heated exchange turned into a physical fight that involved punches and multiple players.

Of course, Paul’s latest comments indicate that regardless of the incidents, there is immense respect between the two former superstars.

Chris Paul reveals self-imposed All-Star deadline before retiring

After recently announcing his retirement from the NBA, Chris Paul is now looking to enjoy his personal time.

Paul went on to have an illustrious career spanning 20 seasons and cemented his legacy as one of the greatest guards in league history. Once eligible, he or she must be inducted into the Hall of Fame.

Paul, 40, was looking forward to his farewell season with his return to the Los Angeles Clippers. But things quickly deteriorated, with the Clippers surprisingly releasing Paul before their game against the Atlanta Hawks in December.

CP3 remained confident that he would find another team. But he also remained realistic and set a self-imposed deadline before deciding to walk away, as he shared on “7pm in Brooklyn.”

Paul said, “When all this happened, I trained and worked out, obviously, I was in Atlanta. A whole bunch of my family was in Atlanta for that game. My brother and some of my friends were there.”

“Then we flew back, and I was working out and training, and I talked to some of my friends, and I said, ‘I’m going to give myself a deadline. If I’m not on the team by a certain point, All-Star (weekend), I’ll be done with it.'”

At the trade deadline in February, the 12-time All-Star was traded to the Toronto Raptors in a three-team deal involving the Brooklyn Nets. However, the Raptors immediately waived Paul.

Some believed that Paul, who had career averages of 16.8 points, 4.4 rebounds, 9.2 assists and 2.0 steals, might eventually land with the Houston Rockets, Los Angeles Lakers or San Antonio Spurs, but nothing panned out.

Although Paul’s exit from the NBA was not ideal, he will always be remembered as a great competitor and a fearless leader.

Chris Haynes reveals Jayson Tatum’s latest injury update for the Celtics

The Boston Celtics have been one of the NBA’s most surprising teams this season. As they return to action Thursday night against the Golden State Warriors following the All-Star break, they sit in second place in the Eastern Conference with a 35-19 record.

While they are 5.5 games behind the first place Detroit Pistons, the Celtics look like they could be a dangerous team in the postseason. Jaylen Brown, Peyton Pritchard and Derrick White are leading the offense for head coach Joe Mazzulla and the team’s defense has been solid most nights. The fact that they are playing so well without All-Star Jayson Tatum has been a surprise to many basketball observers.

Tatum has been out the entire year due to an Achilles injury suffered in last year’s playoff loss to the New York Knicks. His rehab has been good and he has returned to practice. However, he is not sure when or if he will be able to return. There is some talk that Tatum will be able to return to the Celtics at some point during the season and lead the team to a playoff push, but Tatum doesn’t want to rush into anything before he is ready.

He Talked to an NBA insider Chris Haynes said that he is making every effort to make a comeback. According to Haynes, Tatum said, “I’m trying to get back and I’m doing everything I can to get back.” “I don’t know if I can.”

If Tatum can return to the Celtics and make a playoff run, it will improve Boston’s chances of making a long run in the postseason.

Chris Paul picks the best outfit he ever played in

One of the NBA’s greatest point guards has decided to hang up his shoes for good. Chris Paul announced his retirement from the NBA earlier this week. Paul, who played for several teams in his career, finished as one of the greatest point guards of his generation.

Of all the teams that Paul has played for in his career, which team does he think is the best? For the player known as the “Point God,” the answer is obvious: the San Antonio Spurs. The retired NBA veteran recently talked about this in an appearance on a Twitch stream. He showed a plaque that Spurs had sent him containing photos of him at different teams and a list of the players he had assisted the most.

The Spurs were the second to last team that Paul played for before his retirement. The point guard played for San Antonio in 2024, briefly playing alongside French superstar Victor Wembanyama. While the Spurs did not have much team success that season, Paul was still an integral part of the team and led to Wembanyama’s growth into the monster that the NBA knows today.

Chris Paul started his NBA career in 2005 with the New Orleans Hornets. Selected fourth overall by the team, Paul played seven seasons with the team. He would then be traded to the Los Angeles Clippers, where he would become known as the conductor of the now-iconic “Lob City” teams. Those two teams are the teams where Paul stayed the longest.

After his tenure with the Clippers ended, Paul returned to a few teams. He would go on to be a part of the Houston Rockets teams that challenged the Golden State Warriors in the late 2010s. He then spent some time in Oklahoma City, where he teamed up with a young Shai Gilgeous-Alexander. His closest chance to make it to the NBA Championship came in Phoenix, where he made the NBA Finals in 2021.

Paul will play with the Warriors for one year in 2023 before his time with the Spurs. The NBA legend joined the Clippers this season, which was considered Paul’s retirement tour. However, his tenure with the Clippers ended in disaster after Paul was benched and sent home midway through the season. Paul was traded to the Raptors before the trade deadline, who promptly released him moments before his retirement.

Chris Paul is 100% real about the reason for his shocking exit from LA

With former Los Angeles Clippers point guard Chris Paul retiring from the game of basketball, there will no doubt be remembered for his long legacy, but also how his previous tenure with a team ended so abruptly. As soon as the Clippers traded Paul to the Toronto Raptors, who was later waived, the famed point guard called it a career, but being sent home by Los Angeles created controversy as he talked more about the situation.

Paul was on the show “7 PM in Brooklyn”, where when asked how the relationship ended in a flash, he said that the team wanted him not to give “advice to players”. He would explain how there was “a lot of back and forth.”

“I’m still understanding and trying to figure out how it got there,” Paul said. “During training camp, I talked to one of my guys for a while, and then as I walked into the dining room, someone came up to me and was like they don’t want me giving advice to players.”

Chris Paul talks what he wants to say about playing in his final year with the Clippers

It got to the point where Paul was sent back home in December, but it wasn’t always a negative as the star was planning to finish the season and his career with the Clippers by playing in front of his family. He talked about it with head coach Tyronn Lue and president of basketball operations Lawrence Frank.

“I hit [up] T-Lew, I’m like, ‘I’d love to finish my career here.’ L-Frank, I hit him up, said the same thing,” Paul said. “At the beginning of the season, Lawrence Frank sent me an article about how great my leadership was, an article that I had never seen. He texted me saying, ‘Man, this is great leadership here.’ I was extremely grateful, you see, I was emotional when I went back. I knew this was my last year and I would get a chance to play in front of my family.

While that’s in the rearview mirror, Paul is now enjoying retirement after an amazing career.

Donovan Mitchell claims Chris Paul ‘deserved better’ before retiring

Recently, the NBA world was shocked to learn that Chris Paul will be retiring following his release from the Toronto Raptors. Paul was recently traded to the Raptors from the Los Angeles Clippers, who unofficially parted ways with him at the beginning of the year.

Previously, the future Hall of Famer announced that the 2025-26 season would be his last, and unfortunately, he didn’t get the farewell tour that some fans were hoping for.

Recently, Cleveland Cavaliers star shooting guard Donovan Mitchell spoke out about his disappointment in seeing Paul go out like this.

“I think he deserved a better way to go out. For a Hall of Famer, for a legend, for a point guard like that to go out like that… it’s definitely tough,” Mitchell said of Axe, formerly of ClutchPoints, on Twitter, according to Yahoo Sports.

Paul rejoined the Clippers before this season, but he was surprisingly sent home from the team in the middle of a road trip, with reports later alleging sourness between Paul and Clippers head coach Ty Lue.

Since then, Paul was technically still a member of the Clippers while away from the team, which changed with his eventual trade and release from the Raptors.

Paul is undoubtedly a future Hall of Famer who has elevated every team he has been on throughout his career, helping mentor league MVP Shai Gilgeous-Alexander during his stint with the Oklahoma City Thunder during the 2020 season, and even guiding the Phoenix Suns to within two games of the NBA Finals the following year.

Although his final chapter did not go as he had hoped, Paul will still be remembered as one of the great point guards of his generation, and arguably one of the last pure floor generals in the NBA landscape.

Obviously, he still has respect for his teammates.

Chris Paul drops the mic on Legacy while riding in Waymo

Recently, the NBA world was stunned to learn that famous point guard Chris Paul will be retiring from the game in the middle of the 2o25-26 season. The news came after Starr was released by the Toronto Raptors, ending any possibility of a retirement tour he had hoped to do.

Now, Paul is reflecting on his Hall of Fame career, specifically his time with the Los Angeles Clippers, while taking a ride in a Waymo self-driving car via JD Dyer.

According to “When I think about legacy, I always say if people remember me for what I did on the basketball court, that means I didn’t do much.”

Paul actually spent the prime years of his career with the Clippers during the 2010s, although he also spent several stints with the New Orleans Hornets before that. Paul rejoined the Clippers ahead of the 2025-26 season, but was surprisingly released from the team a few months ago reportedly due to friction between him and head coach Ty Lue.

Paul previously announced that the 2025-26 season would be his last, paving the way for a Kobe Bryant-esque retirement tour, but that ended with his sudden dismissal from the Clippers.

Although his career obviously didn’t end the way he would have hoped, it will never take away from Paul’s standing as one of the greatest point guards of his generation, elevating every team he joined and coming close to winning a championship with the 2021 Phoenix Suns.

This is probably a guarantee that he will be in the Hall of Fame in his first year of being eligible.

Kawhi Leonard gets brutally honest on Chris Paul’s retirement

Kawhi Leonard has a lot going on in his life right now, but he is still expected to lead the Los Angeles Clippers (26-28) through this period of transition. James Harden and Ivica Zubac were moved at the trade deadline, leading the franchise into a new era. However, the two-time NBA Finals MVP is still the center of this team. He has been tasked with anchoring the Clipse, as Chris Paul did several years ago.

Although the two future Hall of Famers haven’t shared a locker room for long, they both understand what it’s like to be the top guy on the Los Angeles Lakers’ “little brother.” Bringing pride and prestige to a historically troubled franchise may be a difficult task. The Clippers are still looking for their first Finals appearance, but both of these guys have done their best to keep the team respectable. There is a certain bond that is created by sharing equal responsibilities.

Amid significant roster changes, Leonard is trying to be the stabilizing force that Paul was in a previous era of Clippers basketball. Now he has even more appreciation for the newly retired point guard. The three-time All-NBA first-team selection and two-time Defensive Player of the Year spoke about the impact Paul had on him and the entire game.

“He’s always been great,” Leonard told veteran NBA insider Chris Haynes before All-Star Weekend. “A leader, a guy who also cares about his family, gives you advice on and off the field. He used to be one of my favorite players, I watched him a lot growing up. Observed his leadership and how dedicated he was to trying to win basketball games, his handle, his IQ. So, hats off to him. He did that for many years, especially at a guard position – you don’t see that too much.

“I think you’ll see the things he’s done. Congratulations to him on his career.”

Chris Paul didn’t get the farewell Clippers fans wanted

Paul planned to end his illustrious NBA run with a second stint in L.A., but it became clear early in the 2025-26 campaign that he wasn’t fitting in with this iteration of the Clippers. The two sides parted ways in December, and then the organization began an official split when it traded the four-time All-NBA first-teamer to the Toronto Raptors last week. He was waived on Friday and immediately announced his retirement, closing the book on a 21-year NBA career.

Although Paul’s final chapter was very frustrating and full of tension, Leonard is happy to call him a teammate, even if briefly. The 34-year-old forward Chris Paul will try to finish what he started in Los Angeles and lead the Clippers back into title contention.

Despite being ranked 10th in the West, LA has performed at a high level over the past two months. Fans hope that No. 2 can keep the team relevant, just as No. 3 did before him.

Chris Bosh says Miami could compete for title, win without LeBron

Chris Bosh believes the Miami Heat still had championship potential after LeBron James left in 2014 and said he was motivated to win a title without his former teammate.

Speaking on the latest episode of the All the Smoke podcast with Matt Barnes and Stephen Jackson, the Hall of Famer reflected on the immediate aftermath of James’ return to the Cleveland Cavaliers and the direction of the Heat franchise.

“We had a squad man, I felt like not to say we were going to win it all, but we could compete for a championship… I wanted to establish myself in the record books, I wanted to establish myself without LeBron, to be honest with you. Honestly, we wanted to win without him. That’s like saying Shaq won without Kobe, Kobe won without Shaq. I wanted to put myself in that category and on that pedestal. Was.” Bosh continued. “I wanted to help D.Wade get back to that position as well. I felt very good about my team. We were in second or third place. If we get to the Eastern Conference Finals, let’s play some ball. “I’m not worried about it at all.”

Earlier in the podcast, Bosh recounted the moment when James informed him via a last-minute message that he would be leaving Miami. He previously admitted that he was “displeased” with how the decision unfolded, adding that it took him several months to fully process the departure and adjust to life without the four-time MVP.

Despite the disappointment, Bosh said he believed the Heat were ready to compete in the Eastern Conference. Miami finished 37–45 in the 2014–15 season due to injuries to both Bosh and Dwyane Wade. However, the following year, the team bounced back with a 48–34 record during the 2015–16 campaign.

Heat’s 48-win resurgence boosts Chris Bosh’s confidence in title hopes after LeBron James

The Heat advanced to the Eastern Conference Semifinals that season and pushed the Toronto Raptors to seven games, but fell just short in a Conference Finals matchup against James and the Cavaliers. Bosh was sidelined for the postseason due to recurring blood clotting issues, a condition that ultimately ended his playing career.

At the time of his absence, Miami was one of the top teams in the East standings, strengthening Bosh’s belief that the group could compete at a high level without James.

Bosh said, “We were very confident, but it wasn’t meant to be, but eventually I realized what more do you want? Don’t be greedy, you did everything brother.” “Me and my man Maverick Carter were talking, just talking and I said, this doesn’t happen the way it’s supposed to happen. He said, ‘It never happens the way it’s supposed to happen.’ And when he said that, I was surprised, you’re right. And it kind of put me in a position where I had to figure something else out because God forbid if something happened while I was on the court, which has happened several times, I feel like I’ve done a lot because people die at very little cost. I was like, ‘I should be here’ because usually the people who have the thing that I have, aren’t here anymore. I just took it to heart and moved on and got it out of my system and moved on.

Bosh’s career was short, championship confidence never wavered

Bosh averaged 21.1 points and seven rebounds during the 2014–15 season and 19.1 points and 7.4 rebounds in 2015–16 before his career was cut short. He was later inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in 2021.

While Miami never returned to the Finals during Bosh’s tenure following James’ departure, the franchise later reached the NBA Finals in 2020 and 2023 under a new core led by Jimmy Butler and Bam Adebayo.

Looking back, Bosh said the Heat had the talent and confidence to compete for another championship – even without James – if circumstances had turned out differently.

Chris Bosh says Goran Dragic injury changed Miami’s 2020 NBA Finals series vs. Lakers

Chris Bosh said Goran Dragic’s injury during the 2020 NBA Finals significantly impacted the Miami Heat’s series against LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers.

Speaking on the latest episode of the All That Smoke podcast with Matt Barnes and Stephen Jackson, the Hall of Famer reflected on Dragic’s plantar fascia tear in Game 1 of the Finals inside the NBA’s Orlando bubble.

“The hardest part was watching the Heat battle injuries. Seeing my guy Goran Dragic finally get there and not be able to play. It broke my heart. I can’t say they win, but it definitely would have been a different series if he played. Just to be able to play in the Finals, I don’t care where they’re playing — if it’s the Finals and the NBA, it’s a dream come true. They don’t get that whole experience. It was tough. Like he said, they still went out there and fought. I know the message was definitely there for both sides, but especially for the Heat,” Bosh said.

Bosh continued:

“I know a lot of people were writing them off and not really paying much attention to them, but you know, when you get there, you don’t get there just to lose. You don’t get there to say, ‘Ah, nice weather.’ I definitely knew they were going to prepare, they were going to fight to the last man and you have to beat those guys. And it happened, but pain is pain. I know they’ll be able to overcome this and it will make them a better team and put the Lakers down, man one. Let’s see if they can keep it going.”

Dragic entered the 2020 postseason as Miami’s second-leading scorer behind Jimmy Butler III. In 17 playoff games, he averaged 19.1 points, 4.4 assists, 4.1 rebounds and one steal while shooting 44% from the field and 34.6% from 3-point range in 32.5 minutes per contest.

Chris Bosh says Goran Dragic injury changed the fate of Heat’s Finals against Lakers

Due to injury, Dragic was limited to only two brief appearances at the end of the series. Miami ultimately lost to the Lakers in six games as James captured his fourth NBA Championship and fourth Finals MVP.

Despite the setback, the Heat remained competitive throughout the series, with Butler’s 40-point triple-double in Game 3 and 35-point performance in Game 5 forcing a sixth game.

Miami later returned to the Eastern Conference Finals in 2022 and lost to the Boston Celtics in seven games. The franchise made another Finals appearance in 2023 but lost to the Denver Nuggets in five games. Dragic was traded to the Toronto Raptors in exchange for Kyle Lowry as the Heat reshaped their roster around Butler, Tyler Herro and Bam Adebayo.

With the Butler-led era now concluding, Miami enters All-Star weekend at the Intuit Dome in Los Angeles with a 29–27 record, eighth in the Eastern Conference standings. The Heat have advanced from the play-in tournament in each of the past three seasons and remain in contention for another postseason berth this spring.

Bosh’s comments provided perspective on how injuries, particularly Dragic’s injuries, shaped Miami’s chances against James and the Lakers during the unique bubble finals.

他解釋說:“他本來會 [fought Canelo if he beat Benn]。

“拳擊的運作方式很有趣,但如果他擊敗了康納·本,那場比賽就注定了。

“所以,輸掉比賽是一件大事,但我仍然相信戰鬥將會發生。我真的相信。我認為這是一場 [good fight]。

“你永遠不知道,你永遠不知道。它可能會起作用 [as next fight]。我們專注於下一場戰鬥。

2026 年 MLB 選秀深入探討:克里斯·哈科皮安 (Chris Hacopian)
