French side circle as Sunderland reject initial bid for player – second offer coming this week

French sides very interested in Toulouse and Strasbourg Sunderland Winger Romaine Mundle this summer.

foot market report The Ligue 1 pair are both keen on the 23-year-old, who has no intention of renewing his current contract at the Stadium of Light.

Sunderland rejected the bid

According to FM information, Toulouse are currently the frontrunners for the signature of Romain Mundle and have made an initial approach to Sunderland for him. The Black Cats rejected this.

However, Toulouse has no intention of giving up. In fact, they are planning to return to Sunderland this week with another offer. The nature of their bids is not mentioned by Foot Mercato at this point.

But the website points out that the French side have a history of signing talent from England in recent years. A clear example of this is Charlie Cresswell, who joins Leeds United in 2024 in a €4.5m deal. He has since established himself as a key player at the club.

Sunderland contract until 2028

Now it appears they are looking to repeat that success with Romaine Mundle. He is currently valued at €8m by the likes of Transfermarkt Joins Sunderland on a €1.8m deal in 2024.

Last season he struggled for game time at the Stadium of Light, making 14 appearances in the Premier League but only 12% of the available minutes. He was in the first team only 5% of the time throughout the campaign.

That’s why, perhaps, he doesn’t intend to extend his deal, which runs until 2028. This leaves Sunderland in a precarious position as letting his contract run for another year would put him in the final year of his deal, and they would need to sell him at a reduced price.

This is probably why Toulouse and possibly Strasbourg are now on the move. Despite Sunderland holding out on him for now, the French pair have seen an opportunity and are making a move for the 23-year-old.

The Italian club paid €22.9m to sign Ederson from Salernitana in July 2022 and will make a profit from his sale this summer. TMW state Manchester United will pay €45m plus €3m in easily accessible bonuses.

Earlier claims put the price at €50m while some put it at €45m including bonuses. The final figure should clarify when and how this step forward occurs.

The Red Devils have revamped their midfield this summer due to Casemiro’s exit and uncertainty over Manuel Ugarte’s future.

After completing the deal for Ederson, Manchester United are likely to sign at least one more midfielder.

Blockbuster trade coming? Los Angeles Lakers target major 2026 offseason move

The Los Angeles Lakers are looking to return to the NBA Finals. After trading for Luka Doncic, the Lakers are trying to build a team that is capable of winning multiple championships. After being eliminated in the second round of the 2026 NBA Playoffs, Los Angeles needs improvement, and it could make a blockbuster trade this offseason.

As Dan Woik and Sam Amick of The Athletic reported, the Lakers are expected to be aggressive in the trade market during the 2026 NBA offseason. Los Angeles was interested in Milwaukee Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo during the 2026 NBA trade deadline, so it could always make the rounds ahead of the NBA Draft.

After completing one of the biggest trades in NBA history for Doncic, the Lakers’ work is not done yet. However, who could be a target for Los Angeles on the trade market?

Potential trade targets for the Los Angeles Lakers in the 2026 offseason

If the Lakers want to be aggressive on the trade market, there are a few players that make sense. The list starts with Antetokounmpo; However, does the organization have the assets to make the deal? It doesn’t seem like a very realistic possibility, but the trade block won’t be without elite talent.

New Orleans Pelicans forwards Trey Murphy Jr. and Herb Jones would be great additions to the team. Murphy scored 21.5 points per game while shooting 37.9% from the three-point line during the 2025–26 NBA season. Meanwhile, Jones would give the Lakers an elite defensive player who can also create offense.

What about Utah Jazz center Walker Kessler? If extension talks don’t go well with Utah, the Lakers could get an elite defensive center who can score and rebound very well. Kessler is a restricted free agent, so this will likely require a trade unless the offer sheet is too high for the Jazz’s liking this offseason.

The Lakers need starting centers, shooting and bench depth for the 2026-27 NBA season. Antetokounmpo would be a dream acquisition, but Murphy, Jones and Kessler all represent great options moving forward. The focus may start on the Bucks star, but end somewhere else

Los Angeles wants to return to the NBA Finals with LeBron James, and may need a blockbuster trade to accomplish that goal.

De Zerbi keen on pairing, Tottenham official visit – Spurs expected to make move in coming days

Tottenham Hotspur They need just one point from their last two Premier League matches to avoid relegation.

Spurs are now 17th, two points ahead of 18th-placed West Ham United, with a game in hand and a much better goal difference.

While the immediate focus is on staying in the top flight, Tottenham are also working on potential deals for the summer.

The Italian is considering a move to Serie A, after appointing Roberto De Zerbi as his new manager in March.

Tottenham manager sets his sights on the pair

tuttosport Now the north London club’s manager is reported to have set his sights on Juventus’ Pierre Kalulu and Fiorentina’s Nicolo Fagioli.

On March 30, Khel Witness broadcast news Several clubs, including Tottenham Hotspur, are planning to sign Kalulu.

Manchester United have also taken notice of the 25-year-old central defender and have already made an approach. However, the Turin club closed the exit door.

Spurs are now keeping an eye on the France international and have sent a scout to watch him live in Juve’s 2-0 defeat to Fiorentina on Sunday. The official also saw La Viola’s midfielder Fagioli. Kalulu played the full 90 minutes while Fagioli remained on the field for 64 minutes.

Roberto De Zerbi is ‘keen on both players’ as he looks to improve Spurs’ squad to help them return to Europe. The English club are expected to make a move for the 25-year-old Italy international in the coming days.

sports witness recently Covered claims from Italy Without mentioning any figures, Fiorentina needs a ‘unique’ proposal. TuttoSport now report that La Viola would not consider less than €30-40m for the 25-year-old midfielder.

The English club is unlikely to succeed in signing the French defender as Juventus want to retain him. The Turin club have begun talks with his representative over a contract renewal until 2030, which would see a net salary increase from €2.4m to €3.8-4m per year.

Our opinion: Tottenham could use Paratischi’s help

Earlier this year, Fabio Paratici ended his second stint at Spurs to join Fiorentina as their sporting director.

Tottenham Hotspur could seek the help of their former director in an attempt to sign Nicolo Fagioli.

His contract expires in 2028 and he is valued at €16m transfer market. The same outlet now values Pierre Kalulu, who has a contract until 2029 €32m.

The NY Knicks fans are coming! New data shows Joel Embiid’s worst nightmare may soon become reality

A new report suggests that Joel Embiid’s worst nightmare will come true as New York Knicks fans are set to come to Xfinity Mobile Arena for Games 3 and 4 of their series against the Philadelphia 76ers.

Yes, the Knicks haven’t won an NBA championship since the early 70s. And since that time, they have faced many difficult seasons. However, despite the poor treatment their fan base has endured over the past 40 years, there are no better, more loyal fans than Knicks fans – and they travel.

New York is one of the few teams where fans of the franchise can be found in almost every city, and in some places, they take over the field. Cities like Washington, DC, Miami, Atlanta and Philadelphia can be like second homes for Knicks players. That’s why Joel Embiid implored Sixers fans not to allow the NYC Fanatics to take over their home arena as they did during the playoffs two years ago.

Data shows huge number of tickets sold from New York for Games 3 and 4 of Knicks vs. 76ers

Well, it seems his appeal for domestic support didn’t work. According to third-party ticket seller TickPick, 59% of tickets purchased on their site for Game 3 have come from New York and New Jersey, while 22% have come from Pennsylvania. The data for Game 4 is even worse, with 66% coming from New York and New Jersey.

It should be noted that there is a large number of 76ers fans in New Jersey as Philadelphia is on the border of NJ and PA. Plus, it’s not strange to think that there are Philly fans in Gotham. However, it can also be said that the Knicks have a good number of fans in both New Jersey and Pennsylvania.

Spectators won’t really know whether Knicks fans will take over Xfinity Mobile Arena for Games 3 and 4 until Friday and Sunday. However, based on these numbers, past history, and the 76ers being down 2-0 in the series, it doesn’t bode well for Embiid and his teammates this week.

Chelsea will miss out on signing with Barcelona – midfielder to travel to Spain in ‘coming weeks’

chelseaBarcelona and some other clubs are chasing JMG academy rising star Seydou Dembele.

The midfielder’s performances for Mali U17 have drawn attention from some European clubs, including the Blues.

The interest from Chelsea and Barcelona is not new, and both took a look at him just over a year ago. Last April, Sports Witness broadcast news The Club World Cup winners are making an offer for the 18-year-old.

Two months ago, we broadcast news Barcelona and Manchester United are battling for the young midfielder.

He starred for his country at the 2025 U17 AFCON, which they lost to Morocco in the final. The youngster also impressed at the U17 World Cup, where they again lost to Morocco, this time in the last 16.

His statistics at the U17 AFCON and U17 World Cup:

  • Appearances: 11
  • Start: 11
  • Target: 4
  • Assist: 5

Chelsea will miss the young player

Africa Foot Now cover the latest Premier League information in a report focused on Barcelona.

Seydou Dembele has long been tipped for a move to Chelsea, but Liam Rosenior’s side are going to miss him.

He is now expected to join the Camp Nou squad and the teenager is expected to travel to Spain in the ‘coming weeks’ to seal a move there.

Barça signed his compatriot Ibrahim Diarra last year and he is part of their reserve team. Hansi Flick’s side are looking to add another Malian to the Barcelona B squad soon.

Chelsea were willing to make an offer of €1.5m. The report made no mention of why the Blues could not make progress on their lofty goal. Fenerbahçe also had him on their radar, but now Barcelona seems to be his next destination.

Our opinion: Barça’s plan could have been important

Considering the financial conditions, the La Liga winners will not be able to compete with Chelsea.

Barcelona’s project and their plan for Seydou Dembélé could potentially reassure them, both in the short and medium term. It should be made clear if this move goes ahead in the next few weeks.

Detroit Red Wings front office drama: Are big changes coming?

The Detroit Red Wings have some big decisions to make ahead of the 2026 NHL offseason. Despite scoring the most points (92) in a season since 2016, the Red Wings will not participate in the 2026 Stanley Cup Playoffs. This comes after a historic decline since January, and an NHL insider has the latest information on whether big changes are coming.

There are no expected changes in terms of what the Red Wings front office looks like at this time, as The Athletic’s Chris Johnston reported on the Chris Johnston Show. This also includes Detroit general manager Steve Yzerman, who has been in NHL rumors for the past few weeks.

Will the Detroit Red Wings make the right decision by keeping Steve Yzerman?

Syndication: Detroit Free Press
Kirthman F. Dossier/USA TODAY Network

It’s fair to wonder if the Red Wings might be making the right decision by keeping Yzerman. On one hand, it was Detroit’s best season in 10 years since making the 2016 Stanley Cup playoffs. The Red Wings, on the other hand, suffered a massive collapse late in the season and were in jeopardy of the playoffs again.

The Red Wings roster and coaching staff were put together by Yzerman. Detroit head coach Todd McClellan was a great guy and the team is lucky to have him. Meanwhile, Mo Sider is arguably the best defenseman in the NHL while Alex DeBrincat has scored 40 goals. The franchise had not seen a 40-goal scorer since Marian Hossa during the 2008–09 season.

However, there are other flaws that should have been addressed. The Red Wings had very little production from their bottom six and the offense struggled to score in five-on-five play. The two were known prior to the NHL trade deadline, where Yzerman acquired defenseman Justin Faulk and forward David Perron.

Getting to this point has been a slow and heartbreaking process, but Detroit has fallen behind three seasons in a row. The Red Wings have the longest playoff drought in the NHL. Unfortunately, the franchise did not have good luck with its playoff position. This is the 13th-best record entering the regular season finale, when 16 teams advance to the Stanley Cup playoffs.

Yzerman has improved the Red Wings over the years, but a late-season slump has ruined the story. As of right now, it doesn’t look like there are going to be any major changes for the front office in Detroit. It’s not a bad decision, but it does mean Yzerman needs to make positive changes this summer.

What should the Detroit Red Wings change outside the front office

NHL: Ottawa Senators at Detroit Red Wings
Rick Osentoski-Imagen Images

The Red Wings need to find the best way to move forward. Detroit has a group of veterans as well as young prospects who haven’t produced as expected. Red Wings captain Dylan Larkin is aging while Cedar and Lucas Raymond are coming into their own. Simply put, there are two directions for Detroit.

The organization needs to put their faith in young players and “throw them into the fire” or use their assets to acquire a specific player. Detroit is in desperate need of an elite offensive forward like Ottawa Senators captain Brady Tkachuk. It also needs another center to take the pressure off Larkin.

From the top six to the bottom six, there are changes that could optimize the offense. The lower six did not provide much in detail and depth of building had to be prioritized. This could come from NHL free agency or trusting young players to perform at the top level.

The defensive lines seem to be quite organized, with most of the focus being on offensive production. The best decision would be to acquire an elite first line forward. Also, the team should put more emphasis on the bottom six players along with other young players in hopes that they can start performing as expected.

The Red Wings may not have much in-house front office drama, but they will need to address the flaws on this roster. It’s time for a concentrated effort to get Detroit back to the Stanley Cup Playoffs.

Miami Heat eliminated – why major off-season changes are coming

The Miami Heat are out of the playoff race. On Tuesday night, the Heat lost to the Charlotte Hornets in overtime, ending their season in the play-in tournament. It was a shocking development, as Miami was ahead in the final 24 seconds of regulation and overtime.

Now, the Heat will look to miss the NBA playoffs for the first time since the 2018-19 season. Since trading Jimmy Butler to the Golden State Warriors, this has not been the same Miami team. It’s clear that Heat president Pat Riley and company need to find a way to return to the NBA Playoffs.

This is why big changes are coming within the organization.

What is the Miami Heat’s top goal for the 2026 NBA offseason?

NBA: Los Angeles Clippers at Miami Heat
jim russol-image images

The Heat enter the 2026 NBA offseason with hopes of finding a superstar player. Miami was the only team in the Eastern Conference that did not make a move during the 2026 NBA trade deadline after pursuing Milwaukee Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo. Expect more of the same this offseason.

After a disappointing end to the season, the Heat will be looking for a superstar this offseason, including Antetokounmpo, as reported by ESPN’s Shams Charania. NBA organizations have hit and miss on superstar players over the past five years, but it’s time to make a move.

“The Heat, Pat Riley, when I talk to rival executives it’s clear about the NBA: Pat Riley wants his whale, his shark, his tiger,” Charania said on NBA Today. “He went out last summer and made an offer for Kevin Durant. They didn’t choose Kevin Durant.”

“At the deadline, they offered for Giannis Antetokounmpo. They offered Tyler Herro, Kal’l Ware and a bunch of draft capital. The Bucks didn’t move Giannis, but they’ll be back in pursuit of Giannis, and then whatever star they can find will be available to look at, can we find that number one guy? [Bam Adebayo] The cornerstone, but just the understanding of finding that number one option, that offensive juggernaut that they depend on all night long.”

Riley and the front office are set to make a big acquisition this summer. It seems like everyone will be at the table except Bam Adebayo.

Why can’t the Miami Heat attack any superstars now?

NBA: Boston Celtics at Miami Heat
Sam Navarro-Imagen Images

Miami can’t afford to land an NBA superstar this offseason. The Heat have tried to acquire Antetokounmpo, Durant, Donovan Mitchell, Damian Lillard and many others over the past six years. No one reached out to Miami even after Lillard listed the organization as his preferred destination.

The Heat have been in the play-in tournament for four consecutive seasons. The organization lacks the ability to get a high pick in the NBA Draft in exchange for a first-round exit and a magical run as a No. 8 seed in 2023. Miami failed to reach the 2023 NBA Finals over the hill, leaving it looking for more.

Now, it’s time to choose a direction. Riley and the Heat will either have to acquire a superstar or dismantle the roster and start around Adebayo. Miami can no longer afford to get caught in a basketball trap. The team has amassed a number of superstars over the past few seasons by mismanaging assets.

The Heat haven’t been very active in changing the team in 2020 other than acquiring Kyle Lowry and trading Butler to Golden State. It’s been a long time since Miami has had a true No. 1 pick to lead a team to the NBA Finals. Quite frankly, Antetokounmpo is the answer.

Giannis Antetokounmpo is the answer to the Miami Heat’s problems

NBA: Milwaukee Bucks at Miami Heat
Sam Navarro-Imagen Images

Milwaukee almost pulled the trigger on a package to Miami at the NBA trade deadline, but chose to wait until the offseason. It seems like a divorce is going to happen and the Heat will have to be there to attack. Everyone and everything needs to be on the table to acquire Antetokounmpo this offseason.

The 31-year-old superstar has had to battle injuries, but a change in scenario could put him in a better position. The Heat should offer Tyler Herro, Kal’l Ware, Jaime Jacquez Jr. and all possible trade options to the Bucks. Miami should try to navigate multi-team trades to give Milwaukee even more.

This is for relay. After years of struggling to acquire a pure NBA superstar, Antetokounmpo is likely to be on the table. If the Heat can’t find a way to acquire Antetokounmpo or another difference maker, it’s fair to question the future of the organization. Antetokounmpo will lead the team on offense, defense and in the locker room.

Adebayo has performed well in this role, but it’s clear he can’t do it all alone. Antetokounmpo changes everything and he brings the heat of play-in tournament mediocrity to the contenders in the Eastern Conference. It can’t stop there either. Riley needs to build the best team around his two star players.

There’s time before the Heat go “all-in” on trading for Antetokounmpo or another superstar. For the first time this decade, Miami will watch the NBA Playoffs and wait for transactions to begin this summer. This is why the Heat will have to make big changes.

This “heat culture” is not standard.

The regular season is coming to an end

The Montreal Canadiens faced the Philadelphia Flyers on Tuesday night, the final game of the regular season for both clubs.

The Habs opted to rest several players, with Phillip Danault, Josh Anderson and Mike Matheson watching the game from the press box. As a result, Zachary Bolduc, Joe Veleno and rookie David Rickenbacker were placed in the lineup, the latter paired with phenom Lane Hutson.

The Canadiens outshot the Flyers, but failed to offer 60 minutes of effort, falling a 4–2 decision in a low-energy matchup.

Let’s look at the highlights!

lean Startup

The intensity was low from the start of the game, with both teams trying to avoid injuries before the playoffs began. A logical, if not somewhat disappointing style of play at this point in the season.

However, the Flyers showed a little more life than the Habs, with Matvey Michkov leading the way. The 21-year-old winger scored two goals and added an assist, reaching the 20-goal mark in the process.

experience in sports

Veteran Brendan Gallagher finally answered for the Habs, finding the net for the seventh time this season and limiting the Flyers’ lead to just one goal.

Caden Guhle and Alexandre Texier both provided great assists, the latter delivering a perfect pass despite the high difficulty.

Say what you want about Gallagher’s patience at this stage of his career, but you’re guaranteed to get an honest effort from him regardless of the situation, which is always a good lesson for younger players in the lineup.

veteran effect

The Flyers immediately jumped out to a two-goal lead, despite the fact that the Habs held a 6–3 advantage in high-danger opportunities during the second period.

The pressure finally paid off, when Jake Evans pounced on a loose puck in the final seconds of the frame to score his 12th goal of the year. You’ll notice that Gallagher once again played a key role in the game, not only with his well-timed predictions, but also by creating chaos in front of Samuel Ershon.

It’s also worth pointing out that Arbor Zekaj has a great shot from the point, although he rarely gets the opportunity to use it.

This is the epitome of a heavy shot. If the goaltender manages to stop it, it almost always leads to a rebound.

rookie truculence

David Reinbacher was not particularly noteworthy, which is a compliment when discussing a rookie playing in his first few NHL games, especially since most of his teammates and opponents had a full season.

He showed a good amount of sandpaper in the third period, when he decided to attack fellow first-year player Porter Martone. Reinbacher was lucky to escape a penalty, but it was a good sign for a player who is not always eager to show his aggressive side.

All Montreal Canadiens stats are 5v5, via Natural Stat Trick, unless otherwise noted.

Offers are coming in – Newcastle United are already receiving bids for easy summer sale

newcastle united

newcastle united Goalkeeper Odysseas Vlachodimos has been on loan at Sevilla since last summer.

The Premier League team signed him from Nottingham Forest in July 2024. Eddie Howe only used him once last season, which caused understandable disappointment.

Last week, Greece International expressed his anger On to Newcastle United for not making their point. At least as he saw it.

Vlachodimos’ decision to join the Andalusian club proved beneficial as it allowed him to enjoy regular minutes. To give context, the stopper has played 28 matches so far.

His La Liga statistics this season are as follows:

  • Appearances: 27
  • Start: 27
  • Total minutes: 2,430
  • Clean sheets: 4
  • Target Allowed: 44
  • Penalty saved: 1/10
  • Total Savings: 77
  • Savings per game: 2.9

The player’s performances for Newcastle United have convinced the Spanish club to extend his stay. The latter has no option or obligation to make his stay permanent and needs to reach a new agreement with the Magpies.

Update on the Newcastle United man’s future

Sevilla’s sporting director on 16 March Antonio Cordon stressed Stomper wants to extend his stay with them.

Last week, Sports Witness Covered claims from Spain The Premier League side want €10m for the Greece international. However, the La Liga side are unable to meet his request.

Tuesday’s edition of seville newspaperA local newspaper of the Spanish club, Odysseas gives the latest information on the future of Vlachodimos.

Last month, the Magpies man declined to comment On your future plans after your loan tenure.

The latest reports mainly focus on how the signing of Corden has failed to materialize for this season. At the weekend, Sevilla recorded a 2–1 league win at home to Atletico Madrid.

Vlachodimos was the only player to start for Diego Simeone’s side. He wants to stay but it remains a complicated operation for Sevilla, as the Magpies have already started receiving offers.

Diario de Sevilla made no mention of the clubs that had submitted offers or gave details of the offers. Either way, it will be difficult for Sevilla to retain him.

Our opinion: Magpies must sell

Odysseas Vlachodimos is unlikely to have a future at Newcastle United, where he is under contract until 2028.

If that were to happen, Eddie Howe’s team would have to sell and avoid sending him out on loan again in the summer.

Both the player and the Premier League side are likely to accept one of the offers on the table.

Heart returns, line changes are coming and more

The John Tortorella era is in full effect and it’s already bringing some memorable moments. During Tortorella’s post-practice press conference on Wednesday, a reporter asked if he could share a moment of laughter on the ice during practice without any explanation. He answered clearly, “No.”

Welcome to the Golden Knights Notebook, a look at all things Golden Knights. With the regular season entering its final stretch, things could get interesting for the Golden Knights – and indeed the entire NHL, especially in both wild-card races.

The Anaheim Ducks lost a thrilling matchup to the San Jose Sharks on Wednesday night, and the Golden Knights remain five points behind the Ducks and three points behind the Edmonton Oilers.

How the top three shake out in the Pacific Division is yet to be determined, but it will come down to the wire. Now let’s come to the news.

Carter Hart will start Thursday against the Calgary Flames

On February 24, Hart was placed on long-term injured reserve (LTIR) and returned to skating two weeks later, but is now back. According to Danny Webster, he will get the starting nod tonight against the Flames.

“Carter and I have a really good relationship,” Tortorella said during practice Thursday. “The year he had to stop playing in the NHL, I think the Philly team would have been in the playoffs by six or seven points with how well he was playing. He’s really turned into a good professional and I love that kid. I think he’s got a good heart, no pretense intended.”

Hart and Tortorella spent time together in Philadelphia with the Flyers, and now, the two have reunited in Vegas in a unique circumstance, to say the least.

This season, Hart has split time between the Henderson Silver Knights and the Golden Knights. He has recorded an .871 save percentage with a 3.28 goals-against average in 12 games at the NHL level.

His last game was on January 8 against the Columbus Blue Jackets, when he left the game midway through the first period due to an injury. Now, almost three months later, he is back on the crease.

Is there a change in the line?

When head coach Bruce Cassidy was fired, many thought that Tortorella’s arrival would bring about a lot of changes, but in reality, that has not been the case.

First of all, since the season is nearing its end, it is difficult to make any major changes. This is absolutely not possible. However, Tortorella, as he becomes more comfortable, may begin to make some adjustments to the lineup.

“I don’t think we need to take advantage of anything,” Tortorella said during practice Wednesday. “With an experienced team and the position we are in right now in the standings, we don’t have to worry about ourselves and focus on anything else other than taking each day one at a time.”

When he talked about Mitch Marner specifically, he said he would be “moved” along with other players on the team.

“He’s such a good player that he can be stuck in one line all the time,” Tortorella said. “Jack (Eichel) will be moved around. I’ll move some guys to different positions here depending on the pace of the game.”

More adjusted and comfortable, expect Tortorella to be more active on the bench. We’ll see what’s involved, but it will happen naturally as he becomes more familiar and the noise quiets down.

Loose pucks:

  • Zach Whitecloud returns to Vegas tonight. He was sent to the Flames in the package that sent Rasmus Andersson to the Golden Knights. He has scored six points in 23 games played in Calgary.
  • In response to Hart activating an LTIR, the Golden Knights sent Braden Bowman to the Silver Knights.
  • As for the Silver Knights, they have been in the doldrums since the AHL All-Star break. As of April 2, they are in sixth place in the Pacific Division, but only three points behind third place.
  • Pavel Dorofeyev is warming up. He has four goals and nine points in his last 10 games. He leads the Golden Knights with 34 goals.

Giovani Quenda: Chelsea’s plan is coming together

Giovani Quenda will move to Chelsea in the summer
Giovani Quenda will move to Chelsea in the summer

Chelsea’s long-term plans for Giovani Quenda are now entering a decisive phase, with the winger back in Lisbon and immediately pushing for minutes with Sporting ahead of their Champions League clash against Arsenal.

The 18-year-old has not played since the beginning of December, when a fractured fifth metatarsal Decreased his speed during strong form.

At the time, Kwenda had already scored 5 goals and provided 8 assists in 22 matches, underscoring why Chelsea moved quickly to secure him in a deal worth £43.5m (€50.7m).

Since then, Chelsea have taken full control of his recovery. Surgery, rehabilitation and even physical development were carried out at Cobham, with the club extending his stay to build muscle and prepare him for the demands of the Premier League.

That work now seems to be bearing fruit.

immediate return to planned work

As we covered last weekendGiovanni Quenda returned to Lisbon on Saturday. But according to Portuguese outlets ball And recordThe young player is already training normally with Sporting.

There are no physical restrictions, and that’s the main detail.

after completing my recovery program in londonThe winger is expected to integrate straight into Rui Borges’ squad, including recent on-pitch work. Reports indicate that he could also be included in the squad to face Santa Clara this week.

However, the larger focus is clear. Kwenda is expected to feature against Arsenal in the Champions League on 7 April, in what could be his first appearance in almost four months.

Chelsea’s role is important in that. The final weeks of his recovery were deliberately extended to ensure that he returned not only fit, but physically strong and ready for high-intensity matches.

Chelsea’s plans are already shaping up to be the Kwenda effect

Giovani Quenda returns to Sporting in a very different position to the player who left in December.

Medical tests performed at the end of his program confirmed full recovery of mobility even under maximum load. This removes the last doubt on their readiness.

Chelsea also used the final phase of her rehabilitation to increase her muscle mass and improve her physical profile. This is in line with their long-term vision preparing him for english football.

This explains why his return was delayed earlier this month.

Rather than recall him, Chelsea decided to have the procedure completed in London. The priority was clear – avoid setbacks and prepare a player for immediate performance.

supported chelsea’s success

Giovani Quenda’s path to Stamford Bridge is also being supported by someone who knows his development closely.

Talking to Portuguese outlet Renaissance RadioCongolese coach Busoula Lemba – who worked with Kwenda during his youth academy days – expressed confidence in the winger’s prospects in England.

“It would be good. He is a young player with a lot of ambition. He wants to finish this last part of the season on a high level so he can be well prepared to join Chelsea. And he will have the chance to do that.” He said.

Basoula also believes the youngster still has a chance to reach the 2026 World Cup with Portugal.

“That would be the perfect scenario. He has already shown that he can get there. It’s not too late. He may be a little late compared to others because of his recent injury. But one never knows, football can change very quickly.”

That outside support reinforces Chelsea’s internal confidence. The club have already invested heavily in Kwenda, and everything in recent months suggests that they are moving towards a player who is ready to make an impact soon.

Next steps for Giovanni Quenda

Giovani Quenda now faces a short but intense final phase with Sporting. He will try to regain his place on the right wing, where Jenny Catamo had stepped in during his absence. The competition is real, but Kwenda’s performances early this season suggest he will be expected to play.

There is also internal motivation to finish strong. He is aiming for double figures for both goals and assists, while also aiming to leave Sporting with silverware.

From Chelsea’s perspective, the next few weeks are all about rhythm and match fitness.

If Kwenda can integrate quickly and contribute in key fixtures – particularly against Arsenal – then he will arrive in London this summer not as a project, but as a player ready to compete.

How Celtics star Jayson Tatum is coming back to ‘Superman’ strength

BOSTON — Boston Celtics star Jayson Tatum was flying high and feeling heroic in June 2024 as he helped the Green team end a 16-year title drought and celebrated with a championship parade that he described as one of the greatest experiences of his life. After about a year, it was all over. The six-time All-Star suffered an Achilles injury during the 2025 NBA Playoffs in May and was robbed of his super power: excelling in the game he loves.

An advertisement from director James Gunn superman The film depicts this tragic decline brilliantly. Tatum starred in a promotional piece that aired during the 2025 postseason and wore the iconic “S” on his chest, tying to the feelings of hope and invincibility that Superman is famous for. In fact, the lead excerpt of the ad asked if Tatum could eventually fill in and become Superman:

Unfortunately, Tatum’s untimely injury showed that he was not super-human after all, and Warner Bros. pulled the ad after his Achilles tear.

Jayson Tatum’s journey from hero to human and back again

Unlike the caped hero above, Tatum doesn’t have the luxury of being invincible. Given the fact that he had never missed more than 18 games in a single season until this year, he may have deceived the fans to some extent, however, his injury and the grueling rehab process that came with it reminded them that he is vulnerable.

“I didn’t know what it was going to be like,” Tatum said Sunday night after his recent return to the game. “You just want to be Jason Tatum and feel like yourself again. I’m not Superman, so obviously it’s going to take some time.”

Since walking out of the tunnel at TD Garden on March 6 to confirm his return from injury, Tatum has played brilliantly. He has scored in double figures in all eight of his contests this season and the Celtics have gone 6-2 when he has been in the starting lineup.

However, that doesn’t mean his comeback has been seamless. The 2024 NBA champions shot less than 40% from the field during Sunday’s 102-92 loss to the Minnesota Timberwolves and struggled in the first half before looking like themselves in the final 24 minutes of action.

“This is the first time I’ve been through something like this,” he said in the locker room. “I mean, it’s been a long time. It’s been a long time since I could shoot a basketball, before I could walk. So, just game by game, trying to knock the rust off. I’m getting great spurts and moments game by game and I’m trying to put more of them together.”

When he’s in true “Superman” form, Tatum is tearing up defenses with his passing, leaping for rebounds, and blasting past opponents like a speeding bullet. He had moments in March — including his 24-point performance against the Golden State Warriors or his clutch bucket in transition against the Phoenix Suns — when it seemed as if he had never been injured.

But, despite his gifts, Tatum has still experienced some parts where he looks a lot like Clark Kent, Superman’s human alter ego who can’t fly in the public eye. He missed 12 of his 15 shots in a tough win over the Memphis Grizzlies and, most recently, failed to find the bottom of the net in the first two quarters against the T-Wolves.

“It’s only my eighth game, so still trying to get a feel for it,” Tatum said.

Why does Jayson Tatum deserve patience?

While Tatum’s occasional struggles may be frustrating for Celtics fans, one detail of Superman lore is worth remembering: Clark Kent is still Superman. Superman’s suave, bespectacled face isn’t as much fun as him wearing a blue, red and yellow suit and flying through the sky, but he’s still the same person – and he’s still heroic.

This applies to Tatum because although the 4-time All-NBA First Teamer hasn’t always been at his best since suiting up again, it takes an almost super-human amount of strength to see the floor once again in less than 300 days from a painful injury.

“I had the worst injury I possibly could and I came back 10 months later [I’m] “Every game is getting a better experience,” he revealed.

So, even though Tatum may look more akin to Kent than Kal-El, remember what he had to go through to get to this point and that playing like a superstar after an Achilles rupture isn’t as easy as turning into a phone booth.

“I wanted to be perfect and like first-team All-NBA Jayson Tatum,” Tatum said, snapping his fingers. “But it will take time. I didn’t rush the rehab process, so I can’t rush it.”

Tatum could soon don his cape when the Celtics host the defending champion Oklahoma City Thunder, who have won 12 consecutive games, on Wednesday night. But even if the 28-year-old has trouble against the league’s best team, it’s worth noting that progress in the NBA is rarely linear. There are often a lot of ups and downs involved, and Tatum may have to stumble again before he can really take off.

“It’s all going to work out,” he said.

Dallas Mavericks rookie Cooper Flagg missed Tuesday’s 117-90 loss to the Charlotte Hornets, then received an encouraging injury update ahead of Wednesday’s matchup against the Orlando Magic. Flagg missed the last eight games with a foot injury, but was listed as questionable on the Mavericks’ injury report.

The Nike Air Flightposite 3 is finally coming back in 2027

Nike has always been the leading authority on all things basketball footwear, pioneering innovative silhouettes since the early 1970s. The list of notable athletes is nearly endless, including some of the best players to ever play the game, like Michael Jordan and LeBron James. In reviving several models throughout 2025 and now 2026, Nike plans to revive the Nike Air Flightposite 3 sneakers for the first time.

Check out our sneakers news for more upcoming releases and breaking content.

Nike first introduced the Flyknit silhouette in 1999 as a part of its Nike Alpha Project. The shoes were designed by sneaker architect Eric Avar, who is responsible for some of the most iconic Nike sneakers of all-time like the Foamposite and the Nike Kobe Signature line.

The Nike Flightposite Series was favored by many superstars of the late 90s and early 2000s, most notably Kevin Garnett of the Timberwolves, Tim Duncan of the Spurs, and Allen Houston of the Knicks. For the first time since the release of the Flightposite 3 in 2001, Nike will be bringing back the hyper futuristic silhouette in 2027.

Nike Air Flightposite 3

Following the same Foamposite construction as classics like the Air Foamposite and both previous Flightposite models, the third version is possibly the strangest looking of the collection. They look straight out of a sci-fi movie thanks to the “pods” on the sides and were marketed by some of the best players in the game. Reinforced with straps in the midfoot, the entire upper is made of Foamposite material and rests on a reactive Nike Zoom outsole.

Expected to drop in multiple colorways throughout 2027, Nike plans to add more reimagined looks to the classic sneakers. Typically coming at a higher price due to their premium materials, this pair is expected to retail for over $200. Plus, fans have been clamoring for their return for the last quarter decade, so expect a ton of hype when these drop on Nike SNKRS next year.

Early free agent ‘signals’ are coming from Chicago

The Chicago Bulls have found it difficult to win this season and currently sit in 12th place in the easy Eastern Conference standings with a 24-31 record. The Bulls showed signs of life before the trade deadline this time around, parting ways with players like Nikola Vucevic, Ayo Dosunmu and Coby White to pursue young players, while also acquiring significant draft capital.

And if rumors are to be believed, there will be plenty of activity this summer as well, with insider Jake Fisher claiming he will have significant spending power with a select few teams in the NBA.

According to The Stein Line, he said, “The Clippers, Lakers, Nets and Bulls, however, are in position to spend some big money. Sources say Chicago has already sent some signals that it will consider wings – including as restricted free agents – while the Bulls also clearly need a starting-caliber big man.”

Fisher claimed that the Washington Wizards’ moves for Anthony Davis and Trae Young, as well as the Utah Jazz’s move for Jaren Jackson Jr., mean those two teams no longer have the financial means to make big moves in the summer.

Regardless, the Bulls primarily accumulated a second-round pick in the moves before the previous deadline. The situation worsened when the previously included 2029 second-round pick was reportedly removed due to medical findings on White’s calf injury, further reducing Chicago’s return.

At the same time, the plan appears simple. The Bulls are looking to build around players like Josh Giddy and Matas Buzelis, even if they are not yet viewed as stars capable of bringing them back to playoff relevance.

The overall strategy seems almost encouraging given the current trajectory, with the Bulls’ recent skid improving their draft lottery prospects significantly. After years of hovering around the .500 mark and searching for playoff relevance, there was no doubt that a reset was inevitable.

Whether this leads to success in the coming season remains to be seen.

Adam Silver warns GMs about anti-tanking rules coming for next season

The topic of NBA teams tanking has been a constant topic of discussion for the past few weeks, but it was uncertain whether the league would do anything about it. According to ESPN’s Shams Charania, it looks like NBA commissioner Adam Silver has stepped in, and he plans to set some new rules for next season regarding anti-tanking.

“Commissioner Adam Silver informed the league’s 30 general managers on Thursday that the NBA is planning to make changes to the anti-tanking rule for next season, sources told ESPN. Stakeholders have stepped up conversations about how to deal with tanking,” Charania, formerly of the X, wrote on Twitter.

During the meeting, several topics were discussed on ways to curb tanking, including first-round picks being protected only in the top-4 or top-14+, lottery chances being frozen at the trade deadline or at a later date, a team no longer being allowed to pick a top-4 pick in consecutive years and/or after consecutive bottom-3 finishes, teams not being able to pick a top-4 the following year after making the conference finals, two years The lottery has been expanded to include all play-in teams, and the odds have been leveled for everyone. All Lottery Teams.

Over the past few weeks, teams like the Utah Jazz and Indiana Pacers were fined. The Jazz were fined after sitting Jaren Jackson Jr. and Lauri Markkanen in the fourth quarter of two games, and the Pacers were fined after sitting Pascal Siakam in their game against the Utah Jazz after the league learned he could play.

Benedict Mathurin, Andrew Nembhard and TJ McConnell were also fit to play in the game but sat out.

There have been other situations throughout the league where some people suspected some type of tanking was taking place. Anthony Davis will likely miss the remainder of the season for the Washington Wizards, and Trae Young will likely be on that list.

Meanwhile, for the Sacramento Kings, both Zach LaVine and Domantas Sabonis have been shut down for the remainder of the season.

Tyler Herro expected to return from injury ‘in the coming days’

The Miami Heat are coming out of the All-Star break with practice on Thursday afternoon, hopefully bringing back a familiar face who could turn the season around. As the Heat are in the midst of an inconsistent season, it has also been a year that has been filled with questions about what the team’s ceiling really is, with a plethora of injuries, most notably to star Tyler Herro.

Herro had missed the last 15 games in Miami with a condition listed as “right costochondral; ribs bruised”, as more details regarding the injury emerged via the Miami Herald. Herro, who suffered an injury during the team’s loss to the Indiana Pacers on January 10, played the next three games with Toradol shots, but an MRI revealed the severity of the injury.

Fast forward to the present, Herro’s return to gaming appears to be imminent, or in the words of Anthony Chiang, “in the coming days.”

“According to a league source, Herro is recovering from three broken ribs following a buckle rib fracture,” Chiang wrote.

Chiang added, “But Herro will make his return soon, as he is expected to participate in Thursday’s practice and, barring a setback, return to game action in the coming days.”

Heat’s Tyler Herro has “determination” to get through challenging season

While the timeline surrounding the Heat guard was unclear for some time, there is no doubt that it has been a disappointing season for Herro, who has missed a total of 45 of 56 games this season, in addition to missing the last 15 games. He was absent from the first 17 games of the season due to offseason ankle surgery, as he then missed 13 contests due to a toe injury, and then rib injuries.

It’s been challenging for Herro, but he has the “determination” to get everything done, as head coach Erik Spoelstra reiterated to ClutchPoints on Jan. 31.

“One thing I know about Tyler after spending so many years with him is that he’s determined. He’s got grit. He fights and focuses on the things he can control… I’ve always admired that quality of his,” Spoelstra said.

If one thing is for sure, Miami can use Herro’s offense to finish with the team 29-27, which would move them into eighth place in the East. Herro could return for the Heat on Friday against the Atlanta Hawks or on Saturday when the team hosts the Memphis Grizzlies.
