The Tennessee Titans hold the fourth overall pick in the 2026 NFL Draft, positioning them to come out with a potential perennial Pro Bowl selection as a core part of their future. As draft day approaches, there is more talk about who Tennessee could take with its top pick.

Previewing the upcoming NFL Draft, reporter Cameron Wolfe shared that the Titans “like” All-American running back Jeremiah Love.

Wolfe noted that Love, a standout for the Notre Dame Fighting Irish, might be “too good to pass up” for Tennessee. He also mentioned a recent conversation about the Titans’ potential draft plans in which his source compared the situation to the franchise drafting Derrick Henry a year after selecting quarterback Marcus Mariota with the second overall pick.

Love is viewed as one of the few blue-chip prospects in the 2026 NFL Draft. NFL.com’s Daniel Jeremiah ranks Love as the second-best player in this class, while ESPN.com’s Matt Miller rates the offensive weapon as the top overall player this year.

Going back to the comparison made to Wolff by someone inside the league, it is a bit flawed. Henry is a future Hall of Famer and has proven himself worthy of being a first-round selection, but Tennessee took him in Round 2 with the 45th overall selection.

This is a lot different than using the fourth overall pick on a running back, especially when both the Titans defense have glaring holes at multiple spots and the offensive line isn’t even league-average entering 2026.

It’s also worth noting that Tennessee’s running back committee already includes Tony Pollard, Tyjay Spears and Michael Carter. All the while, this team doesn’t have a true No. 1 wide receiver to back up Cam Ward.

With all that said, discussion around the league continues to suggest that there is a very good chance the Titans select Love with the fourth overall pick. This is a selection that will get a lot of criticism due to the running back’s positional value and other team needs, but Love is certainly one of the few players in this class who can be a difference-maker for an offense.

The Oklahoma City Thunder have become the envy of the league. They have such a deep core, led by arguably the best player in the NBA in Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, and their core trio of Gilgeous-Alexander, Chet Holmgren and Jalen Williams are at their peak. In fact, Holmgren and Williams, aged 23 and 24 respectively, have not even entered yet and yet have already won a title – which is more than many of the young and promising teams they have achieved.

When a young team becomes so elite so quickly, it’s hard to avoid the topic of whether or not they can develop into a dynasty – a team that runs the NBA for years. But Holmgren can’t get ahead of himself, because he knows the realities of the NBA make it hard to imagine anything happening.

“I think it’s a dangerous thing to try to think about because of how delicate things are in the NBA. We see it all the time. How quickly things can change, and nothing is guaranteed. So you really have to focus on each individual day,” Holmgren said in an appearance at The Arena.

“It’s one thing to bring things into existence, it’s another to distract yourself. So I think I’ll avoid distracting myself.”

That’s the healthiest mindset of any NBA champion, and it’s one of the many reasons the Thunder are favored to win the Larry O’Brien Trophy once again in June.

The reality of the new CBA is that teams cannot retain their talented core for long, as winning teams become expensive very quickly. Next season, Holmgren and Williams are going to be on max contracts, pushing the Thunder so deep into the waters of the second apron.

The 2023-24 scoring champion is one of the worst offenders when it comes to irritating the officials about no-calls. Instead of creating ruckus in the court, he will repeatedly argue his point heatedly. Doncic has improved in this area recently, but he remains under intense scrutiny due to his many blowups.

However, if he maintains his current level throughout the remainder of the campaign, even an ill-timed expression of emotion may not be enough to rule him out. Doncic was averaging an NBA-leading 33.0 points a game with 8.5 assists, 7.9 rebounds and 1.5 steals entering Thursday’s contest with the Heat. He’s shooting 36.6 percent from 3-point range, burying opponents with a step-back jumper that seems unstoppable at times.

Most importantly, No. 77’s stellar numbers are carrying his team forward. The Lakers are currently in third place in the Western Conference with a 45–25 record. If they continue to win games, Luka Doncic may have a legitimate chance to snatch the MVP crown from Gilgeous-Alexander’s head.

Recently, one of the major talking points in the NBA has been whether or not the Miami Heat violated some unwritten rules of basketball when center Bam Adebayo scored 83 points in a game against the Washington Wizards, passing Kobe Bryant for second-most all-time. Many critics have pointed to Adebayo’s 43 free throw attempts as well as some of the Heat’s bizarre late-game strategies as reasons to discredit the scoring explosion.

However, one person coming to Adebayo’s defense is former NBA guard Patrick Beverley, who recently took to Twitter to share his thoughts on the debate.

“I never knew there was a fake 83. A motherf***** never scored an 83, how could it be fake? This is as real as it gets… People were shocked it was Bam and it wasn’t Steph Curry, it was LeBron James… If KD had the same 83 with the same stats, they wouldn’t treat it like that. It was shocking to people that Bam did that… Bam tops in the NBA Big in 3. Big in top 3… I don’t know what the surprise is,” he said on X, according to Heat Central.

In fact, many were surprised that it was Adebayo, who was averaging just under 20 points per game before the game, who broke Bryant’s second-place mark, and not one of the more high-octane scorers across the NBA landscape.

However, it does show just how talented NBA players really are… and how bad the Wizards defense really is.

Meanwhile, the Heat are looking to bounce back from their seven-game winning streak after losing two consecutive games. They will next take the field on Thursday evening in a home match against the Los Angeles Lakers.

Miami Heat coach Erik Spoelstra and tennis sensation Alex Eala reunited in South Beach ahead of their return to action at the Miami Open.

Ella visited Spoelstra at the Kasia Center on Monday, three years after they first met. Ella first saw the NBA in person when the Miami Heat defeated the New York Knicks in 2023. It was extra special because Spoelstra recorded his 700th career win during that game.

The Minnesota Vikings are trying to open up some cap space after entering the offseason about $44 million over the 2026 spending cap. Moving on from a pair of Pro Bowl players could be in play.

Once the Vikings are cap compliant again, they are expected to pair/compete with JJ McCarthy or possibly look for another quarterback to replace him. He has been linked to a large number of quarterbacks, and that continued this week at the NFL Scouting Combine.

K Vincent Bonsignore California Post Said, “There was a lot of discussion in Indy about the Vikings being linked to Derek Carr.” Bonsignore said he “would imagine that if (Carr) came back, it would be with a contender.”

Carr is believed to be considering a return to the NFL after leaving the league due to a shoulder injury. Now possibly healthy again, Carr, 34, is eyeing a return to form.

The Vikings are looking to add experience to a QB room that features the 23-year-old McCarthy, as well as soon-to-be 25-year-old former undrafted free agent, Max Broesmer. Carr, who has 11 seasons of experience, will add a vital element to the Vikings.

If Carr comes out of retirement, the assumption is that the Saints will attempt to trade him. Still, with Carr having a $36.6 million cap hit in 2026, coming out of retirement could force the Saints to release him. After all, New Orleans is already moving forward with Tyler Shaw as their potential franchise quarterback. They are not returning to Carr now.

Thus, there is a scenario in which Carr could hit the open market. If so, he will have a chance to choose his next NFL team.

Speculation regarding Kawhi Leonard and the Los Angeles Clippers is beginning to resonate in familiar territory as the franchise approaches a pivotal offseason.

In the latest episode of Clutch Scoops, ClutchPoints NBA insider Brett Siegel drew a comparison between Leonard’s current situation and the circumstances that led to him being traded from the San Antonio Spurs to the Toronto Raptors in 2018.

Siegel said, “I think if he’s still on the Clippers roster in the summer and his contract isn’t voided. He’ll be in the last year of his deal.” “I believe it’s worth $50.3 million dollars and no matter how old he is, as long as he’s healthy, it will be looked at like another scenario from when the Spurs traded him to the Toronto Raptors. He’s in the final year of his contract. He can still be a big part of a championship team.”

The 34-year-old Leonard has averaged 27.9 points, 6.4 rebounds, 3.7 assists and 2.1 steals per game in 41 games this season. He is shooting 49.1 percent from the field, 38.3 percent from three-point range and a career-high 91.2 percent from the free-throw line in 32.8 minutes per contest.

The Clippers were active at the trade deadline as they recalibrated their roster around Leonard. Los Angeles traded Ivica Zubac and Kobe Brown to the Indiana Pacers in exchange for Benedict Mathurin, Isaiah Jackson, a protected 2026 first-round pick, an unprotected 2029 first-round pick and a future second-round selection.

Clippers reshape roster at deadline as Kawhi Leonard’s offseason future is in jeopardy

In a separate move earlier in the trade cycle, the Clippers dealt James Harden to the Cleveland Cavaliers in exchange for Darius Garland, signaling a broader shift toward reshaping their core while maintaining offensive firepower.

Siegel said that from a front office perspective, exploring a Leonard trade this summer could more closely align with the Clippers’ long-term vision.

“From a front office standpoint and if you’re looking at it through the lens of the Clippers’ future, it probably makes more sense to trade him in the offseason,” Siegel said.

Los Angeles entered Thursday at 26-28, tied for 10th in the Western Conference after bouncing back from a 6-21 start. The Clippers return to action following All-Star festivities when they host the Denver Nuggets at 7:30 pm PT.

As soon as the Sacramento Kings lost Zach LaVine to a season-ending injury, some even considered him a player to move forward between now and the end of the offseason. The Kings likely won’t reach a deal with LaVine, who had a tendon repair in his right pinky.

Per ClutchScoops’ Brett Siegel of ClutchPoints, LaVine could help mentor the young Kings during the final year of his contract.

“To be honest, unless the Kings are willing to take on contracts they don’t want, which they’ve indicated isn’t going to happen, they want to pursue clean books,” Siegel said. “I don’t see any option other than to try to buy him out, maybe in the off-season, or just waive him and pay him $49 million.

“If you’re the Kings, why would you do that? If you’re going to pay him $49 million anyway, you might as well add him as a featured star on your roster to mentor some of these young guys.”

In the final season of LaVine’s five-year, $215.1 million deal for the next one, there is a player option worth $48.9 million.

Zach LaVine undergoes season-ending surgery

After the Kings announced Domantas Sabonis would have season-ending knee surgery, Zach LaVine suffered a similar situation during his hand surgery. Sabonis went under the knife to repair a torn meniscus in his left knee, as both his and LaVine’s regular seasons ended abruptly.

The Kings, who enter the All-Star break with a 12-44 record, are in last place in the Western Conference standings and have the fewest wins in the NBA.
