All of this, combined with the Spurs’ elite record, is leading some to wonder whether Wembanyama would have emerged as a true MVP candidate in his third season, and it appears that other players, including Green, have mixed feelings on Wembanyama’s advocacy for themselves.

After Golden State Warriors guard Moses Moody is out with a groin injury in Monday’s game against the Dallas Mavericks, star Draymond Green has spoken out about what caused the frustrating incident. While Moody suffered a patellar tendon injury with the Warriors, Green expressed some thoughts on the injury.

Green was on his self-titled podcast and show, where he said he and the players thought the wet floor caused Moody’s injury, but they had a different view after watching the video. As replays showed, Moody’s foot gave out, causing the unfortunate injury.

“What people were saying is like, man, we kept telling them the floor was wet,” Green said. “We kept telling them the floor was wet because we all thought he slipped. If you see him going full speed, you see him flying. We thought he slipped. When you go back and watch the replays, he doesn’t slip.”

“So we’re all standing there like, man, it’s one thing to see a guy get hurt, but it’s another thing when you see a guy get hurt because of a wet spot on the floor. So we all thought he slipped. Some good news on Warriors’ Moses Moody

With the Warriors dealing with Moody’s injury, the team has had to deal with a number of issues with the likes of Jimmy Butler and Stephen Curry, but there has been one bright spot for the recent issue. Golden State head coach Steve Kerr would say on 95.7 The Game that “the MRI was clean” for Moody.

At any rate, it remains to be seen how Moody recovers for next season as the Warriors look to overcome their troubles.

Brooklyn Nets rookie Ben Saraf continued his breakout on Wednesday. The 6-foot-6 point guard scored 14 points on 5-of-9 shooting from the field with seven assists and four turnovers during a 109-106 loss to the Golden State Warriors. He delivered one of the Nets’ top highlights of the season during the final minutes of a tight contest.

With the Nets trailing 106–104 with 50 seconds remaining, Saraf drove and threw a poster dunk over Draymond Green to tie the game. The game started when he drove and made a go-ahead bucket and the game was tied with two minutes left.

Trailing by one in the final seconds, Jordi Fernandez called the rookie’s number again. Saraf drove to left field but failed to advance on D’Anthony Melton as Brooklyn lost its ninth consecutive game.

Saraf’s on-ball advantage creation, the main selling point of his skill set entering the draft, has been on full display. The 19-year-old has averaged 14.9 drives per game in his last eight appearances, the most on the team by a wide margin, and is shooting 51.1 percent. He’s attempting 6.2 free throws per 100 possessions during the stretch and converting 85.7 percent.

“I feel like every time I’m in the right mindset of being aggressive at the rim and being in control, something good comes from it. So I just need to stick to that mindset,” the rookie said.

Saraf’s two made threes on Wednesday were a welcome sight for the net, as he was 13 of 67 (19.4 percent) entering the matchup. The No. 26 pick’s defensive improvement has impressed Brooklyn’s coaching staff. He had two steals on Wednesday as the Nets forced the Warriors into a season-high 26 turnovers.

Saraf played a key role in slowing down Jalen Brunson during Brooklyn’s near upset of the New York Knicks on Friday. The rookie guarded Brunson for long periods of time, as the Nets held the Knicks star to 17 points on 7-of-19 shooting.

SAN FRANCISCO – Given the state of the Golden State Warriors season, it’s fair to ask the tough question about whether Stephen Curry should return from knee soreness.

With Golden State stuck in the play-in tournament, and Jimmy Butler and Moses Moody lost to season-ending injuries, is it worthwhile to bring Curry back for what looks like a lost season? If Curry returns and they try to escape, is the risk of further complicating Curry’s health outweigh that meager benefit?

Those questions are circulating in the Warriors environment right now. And for the most part, the Dubs have been adamant that they are not considering closing him down.

“The main thing is if Steph is healthy, he’s going to play because that’s what we’re here for,” Kerr said earlier this week in Dallas. Since Curry suffered a patellofemoral pain syndrome and a bone spur injury in his right knee, he has been sending a message loud and clear.

“Having a chance to get to the playoffs is a big deal for us, big deal for Steph.”

But after the Warriors’ 109-106 win over the tanking Brooklyn Nets, Draymond Green weighed in on whether he believes Curry should return.

“I think it’s a slippery slope, telling a guy who loves basketball, you can’t come back and play basketball when they feel like they’re healthy enough to win basketball. So I think if there’s

“But if he’s healthy and he can definitely play. Because that’s what you’ve worked for. To give yourself a chance to have a great season, to get to the postseason, and thrive on that stage. You don’t know how many opportunities you get.”

Green’s answer is quite logical. And not very controversial either. If Curry’s knee is healthy he should return. But if he doesn’t feel 100%, he should play it safe. Greene isn’t really falling into that line of thinking.

But there’s something about the fact that Green has vocalized it.

As one of the more powerful and public voices in the Warriors organization, the fact that he is willing to put that debate on the table is noteworthy. There’s an old adage repeated among veteran Warriors reporters and insiders — when the big voices speak in Golden State, you listen. And you read between the lines.

“You can always kick the can down the road and say, ‘Hey man, we’ll be back.’ But it doesn’t always work that way,” Green explained.

“Last year, we didn’t kick the can down the road, and unfortunately, Steph got hurt. But let’s say we kicked the can down the road last year, like, ‘Hey man, we’ll bring it back next year.’ And then look at this year.”

Green slammed his hand on the table, referring to how injuries have derailed any chance he had of competing this season.

“You’ve got to take advantage while you can,” Green explained.

It’s really easy to use health as an excuse to wait out your time in the NBA. But the clock is always ticking, especially for guys Curry’s age and a franchise on the receiving end of a dynasty. Opportunities open and close in the NBA the way they do, and taking that opportunity out of the way doesn’t always guarantee another opportunity.

Ultimately, the dilemma for Curry and the Warriors comes down to timing. And how to maximize it. Because the whole world knows that Curry’s great career is in its final stages. But as far as how this final chapter plays out, it all depends on how the Warriors take it.

Do they strike while the iron is hot and push Curry to play as many games as possible before time runs out? Or do they play it safe, prolonging their careers by not risking injuries that could shorten what little time they have left? Again, these are the tough questions facing Golden State right now.

However, Green has made it clear that Curry should not return if he doesn’t feel right.

Green added, “I know if he’s healthy he’ll be there.” “But I think if there’s any doubt that he’s not where he needs to be then no. I don’t [think he should come back]”

“But I think for anybody, everybody, when we can play this game, we want to be heroes. We all want to throw [the] Cape on and save the day. The Golden State Warriors suffered another painful blow when running back Moses Moody suffered a non-contact knee injury on Monday against the Dallas Mavericks.

Everyone at American Airlines Center immediately became concerned about overtime when Moody fell to the floor and caught his knee shortly after going up for an uncontested bucket. Eventually he was taken out of the court on a stretcher.

Warriors survive Mavericks, 137-131. Moody finished with 23 points, three rebounds, three assists, three steals and two blocks.

It’s no secret that the 36-year-old Green has had conflicts with his teammates due to his fiery personality. But many have also said that the former Defensive Player of the Year is a great guy to have on your team.

Moody just returned from a 10-game absence due to a wrist injury. Now, he’ll likely have to sit out the rest of the season with Jimmy Butler and Stephen Curry on the sidelines.

The Warriors are in 10th place in the Western Conference with a 34-38 record.

It’s hard to get excited about anything related to Jonathan Kuminga’s reunion with the Golden State Warriors.

Instead of a passionate revenge game full of bad blood and blood, all we got from both sides were hugs and uninspired performances. On one end, we got to see a poor performance from the Warriors as they lost to the Atlanta Hawks 126-110. And Kuminga, on the other hand, went 1 of 9 for two points, four rebounds, two turnovers and a -6 plus/minus in 22 minutes.

That happiness was visible when Kuminga spent a lot of time after the game congratulating his former teammates, hugging his old coaches and talking to his past veteran teammates. He talked to Stephen Curry for the longest time, the two had a conversation at halfcourt after the game. And in the locker room, Kuminga gave a shout-out to Draymond Green about a good moment they shared when he first entered the game.

“He’s my vet, he’s my OG,” Kuminga said. “You know me and Draymond have always had a great relationship, a brotherly relationship. We were just hanging out.”

Kuminga even leaned over and hugged Steve Kerr, despite the two having disagreements over his role and fit with Golden State. Kerr has always said that the difficulties in their relationship have always been purely basketball and nothing personal, which he reiterated before the game.

Looks like the next chapter is going well so far. Hawks coach Quin Snyder said pregame that Kuminga has tried to fit into what Atlanta wants to do. And what they’ve asked of him is simple, “Defend and run,” Snyder told reporters, adding that Kerr and the Warriors said the same thing to Kuminga during his Golden State tenure.

Regardless, while Kuminga and Kerr’s basketball disagreements pushed their relationship to the breaking point, he is still wishing the best for the young forward. As Kerr said, it was never personal between the two. Just an unfortunate situation in which neither side got what they needed.

“We offered him what we could,” Kerr said. “Which was 25 minutes and was a role he didn’t like. And it was never comfortable for either party on the basketball floor… We had our differences in our conversations about basketball, but on a personal level, we’re all here for him. Well-liked in our locker room. And I’m sure people are looking forward to seeing him.”

And based on Kuminga’s warm reception after the game, it looks like the bonds he’s made with Curry, Green and the rest of the Warriors will last even if they go their separate ways.

“I talk to most of them,” Kuminga said. “I try as hard as I can. But we still have great friendships and relationships like they’re my brothers. If they need something I can call them anytime, and if they need something they can call me anytime, so I think that shows a lot. Our relationship is very strong, and at the end of the day we’re brothers.”

Draymond Green evaluates Lakers’ title chances with LeBron James, Luka Doncic

The Lakers’ recent performance has solidified their position atop the Western Conference standings and reinforced the ceiling many have created with a roster built around two of the league’s most efficient offensive players. Doncic’s ability to control the pace, set up for teammates and generate efficient offense has added a different dimension to a team that already relies heavily on James in key moments.

Still, Green made it clear his main concern with the Lakers focuses on the other end of the floor.

“The teams that will put pressure on them that will make it difficult for them in the playoffs are making them guard. They’re not a great defensive team at all, do some fake things like some fake zone turns that turn into a guy. And in a playoff series if you’re doing that for maybe a game, maybe two games they figure out some plays to dice up and then you have to play routine defense and then it takes us back to the core issues of the Lakers. It’s been like this since the beginning of the season. I don’t know if they’re good enough defensively to ultimately win it, but they’ll always be dangerous in the playoffs.

“Adam, let them just do us all a favor, and move the team to Nashville. No losses, no fouls, transfer fees, it’s a swap. Give up that area, you don’t have to pay a transfer fee. … I think it’s actually a lot easier to rearrange the conferences. But you ask yourself, or do you get rid of the conferences.”

While the Grizzlies moving to Memphis is an entirely different story, only one team would need to move to the Eastern Conference, given that Seattle and Las Vegas are both in the West. After this, there will be a total of 16 teams in each conference. Memphis is slightly further east than the Minnesota Timberwolves, and a potential move to Nashville would make them even further east than some of the teams already in the Eastern Conference.

The New Orleans Pelicans could also be a candidate to move to the Eastern Conference following NBA expansion.

Draymond Green received a negative update regarding his availability for the Golden State Warriors’ matchup against the Minnesota Timberwolves on Friday night.

Green has been in the league since 2012 when the Warriors selected him in the second round of that year’s NBA draft. He carved a niche for himself as one of the best versatile guards in the game, helping Golden State win four championships throughout his tenure.

Adebayo had the second-highest scoring performance in NBA history during the Heat’s 150-129 win over the Washington Wizards on Tuesday night. The 28-year-old center exploded for 83 points while adding nine rebounds, three assists, two steals and two blocks in 42 minutes, shooting 20-for-43 from the field, 7-for-22 from three-point range and 36-for-43 from the free-throw line.

The performance immediately sparked debate throughout the league, with some critics questioning whether Miami should have allowed Adebayo to continue the late scoring milestone in a game that was already decided.

Green rejected that criticism during his podcast.

Draymond Green calls criticism of Bam Adebayo’s scoring night ‘loser mentality’

Green expressed much of his frustration toward what he described as unwritten rules that discourage teams from running score after the game’s outcome is no longer in doubt.

“Y’all want Spo to feel bad for that organization and kick Bam out of the game and not let him go after the record? I hate these unwritten rules in basketball like don’t score because y’all are ahead. Bullshit! This loser ass mentality people have in this world is really pathetic…’ You should kick him out [of] Who says ‘game because you’re up too many points’? It’s not their fault they stink!”

Adebayo’s scoring surge started early in the game. He scored 31 points in the first quarter and finished the first half with 43, already putting himself in range of one of the league’s most elite scoring marks.

Green argued that the initial outburst made criticism of the performance even more unfair.

“Bam had 43 at halftime, which means for all the haters out there, like, ‘Oh, he should have come out of the game,’ he was on his way to 86… I really think that’s crazy. [that] People are really hating. We’ve seen a lot of guys stat chase and stat pad in the NBA, but no one has made their way and stat chased up to 83. I don’t care how you do it, scoring 83 in an NBA game is crazy. And we’ll act like this guy was just chasing stats to get 83 points, no. He had 30 points in the first quarter. Green backs Heat coach Erik Spoelstra after Adebayo’s 83-point night

Green also voiced support for Miami head coach Erik Spoelstra, who allowed Adebayo to remain in the game as the milestone approached.

“Man, I got love from Coach Spo for that. A lot of times you see coaches take people out like, ‘Oh, we got a lead, sportsmanship bullshit’. Bullshit. I can’t believe there was so much fuss about Bam scoring 83 like he cheated or something? The bullshit went out of here.”

Adebayo’s historic outing added to an already productive season for the Heat star. In 59 games, he has averaged 20 points, 9.8 rebounds, 2.9 assists and 1.1 steals while shooting 44.4% from the field and 32.4% from three-point range.

Miami improved to 38-29 after defeating the Milwaukee Bucks on Thursday night, extending its winning streak to seven games while taking over the sixth seed in the Eastern Conference standings.

The Golden State Warriors have a lot of explaining to do. On Monday, they fell to the Utah Jazz 119–116, prompting head coach Steve Kerr to advocate for a shortened season. Then on Tuesday, the Warriors lost to the Chicago Bulls 130–124 in overtime. A loss some are characterizing as tanking.

The loss to Chicago was especially painful because of one moment. In the final seconds, Draymond Green fouled Jalen Smith, putting the Warriors ahead 118–116. Ultimately, Smith converted both free throws, forcing the game into overtime.

Still, fans aren’t going easy on Kerr or Green.

“Shouldn’t have even entered the game at that time,” @OloapZurc posted on Twitter.

Another user called on Kerr to resign his post and take Green with him.

“I want this guy to be fired next season and take Drummond with him,” @XKingnas posted on social media.

Then, another fan took it a step further, saying that Kerr should step aside.

“Kerr is taking a lot of the blame as to why the Warriors are losing a lot of games… Maybe then he should have the decency to resign. That’s tantamount to admitting he’s no longer a good coach for this Warriors team,” @JRemeria0218 said on Twitter.

As a result, the Warriors are now 32-33 and have lost three consecutive games.

Draymond Green is often viewed as one of the dirtiest players in the NBA, and his actions came to light again recently during the Golden State Warriors’ 115-113 win over the Houston Rockets. During the third quarter, Green caught Jabari Smith Jr.’s ankle during a dead-ball sequence, resulting in a technical foul.

The incident occurred with 9:49 minutes remaining in the third quarter when Smith was called for an offensive foul on a moving screen that sent Green to the floor. Now, the Warriors veteran has addressed the incident, claiming it was Smith Jr.’s trash talk that prompted him to commit the foul.

“So Jabari fouled, he just stood there going, ‘Oh yeah, get more physical. Yeah, I pushed him down.’ Well being who I am, I don’t think anyone should let that happen, but I’m definitely not letting that happen. At that moment I can only do what I did. I think one thing that people don’t understand about this game is that you can’t give people an edge in the NBA. You give somebody the lead and lose, and I wasn’t going to give him the lead and we won,” Green told the Draymond Green Show.

Although Green did not reveal what the Rockets player said, the Warriors veteran could be seen pulling his ankle while walking back to the court.

“In a situation where Jabari was struggling strongly, you would not be able to find your edge in that game, and I would not be the guy that you would foul, and I would fall down and you would stand over me and walk over me and talk,” he concluded.

Smith had missed the past two games with a right ankle sprain and entered the matchup listed as questionable before ultimately being cleared following pregame warmups. Since the incident, many have called for the NBA to impose harsher punishment, especially given Green’s problematic history.

However, the player himself appeared to have no regrets and played his part in a surprise win with 10 points, eight assists and five rebounds on the night.

“Even though I’m going to tell you this, I didn’t realize I was strangling her for so long. I didn’t realize I was strangling her for so long,” Green said. “Look, when I came back in the locker room, I was looking at it and I said, ‘Man, this is bad.’ “I didn’t realize I had it for so long.”

“Once I saw how late it was I went inside the equipment room, I was talking to the equipment guys and I said, ‘Hey man, what do you think is going to happen?'” Green said. “And they were like, ‘Dre, you held him for so long.’ “Brother, I guess I didn’t think it would take this long.”

Following the incident, Green was suspended for five games by the NBA. The other players involved in the controversy, Gobert, Klay Thompson and Jaden McDaniels, faced only fines and no suspensions. Part of the league’s reasoning for Green’s punishment was his past incidents.

It hasn’t been the cleanest season for Golden State Warriors star Draymond Green.

The decline has begun for the 36 year old future Hall of Famer as the Warriors have seen seasons up and down from .500, with injuries to Stephen Curry and Jimmy Butler derailing their championship aspirations.

You can see it in his diminished impact on offense – the Warriors are 5.7 points worse per 100 possessions when Green is on the floor, which is their worst offensive point differential since his rookie season. You can see it in his defensive slips. While the Warriors still allow fewer points when Green is on the floor, 1.2 fewer points per 100 possessions, it is the second most he has allowed when he is on the floor in his career.

The player who made his money by being an on/off, plus/minus, advanced statistics god hasn’t been the same this season. He looks very dangerous this season. The Warriors know it, Steve Kerr knows it and Green knows it to some extent. Green witnessed his basketball mortality during the last trade deadline, during the Giannis Antetokounmpo sweepstakes, which ultimately never materialized.

And the challenge this season has been how to navigate a former DPOY and all-time great in the final stages of his career.

Kerr has tried to play Green at the four next to stretch centers Al Horford, Quinton Post and now Kristaps Porzingis so he doesn’t get burned physically at the five. He’s done the opposite and gone back to his old style, rocking him at the fifth spot in small ball with a group of shooters.

But of all the solutions the Warriors have tried recently, the one that has reinvigorated them has come down to the defensive end – taking on the primary task of guarding opposing stars on the perimeter.

Over the past three games, the Warriors have changed their defensive philosophy in how they use Green defensively. Instead of using him on the backend of the defense, where he can quarterback the defense, they have committed him to guarding the opposing team’s star perimeter player.

That means guarding Kawhi Leonard, Kevin Durant and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, perhaps the strangest arsenal of offensive talent you can give a guard. But the results came positive. The Warriors, along with Curry and a handful of players, fought valiantly in all three games. And Green looked as lively and energetic as he has all season.

“I think our coaching staff realizes that I have a lot of energy when I’m given this type of workload,” Green said. “It’s amazing to have those responsibilities at this point in my career. And it energizes me a lot because, number one, my team needs me… And yet—I’m a very egotistical person. I can’t just go out there and kill.”

The color green shines brightest when the best players step onto the court. The same passion we are seeing now is what we saw in the Victor Wembanyama matchup earlier this season.

“I think it excites him when we give him this job, ‘You guard the best player,'” Kerr said. “He loves it. He’s up for the challenge. He’s still one of the great defensive players in the game. The last few games, between Shai and Kevin and Kawhi, he’s guarded three of the toughest guys on the planet. And done a phenomenal job.”

And that passion has extended to crime. Eight assists in Rockets’ win, four 3-pointers in narrow loss to OKC. Nothing outstanding, but a far cry from the liability it sometimes looked like at that level.

How Draymond Green on the perimeter transforms the Warriors’ defense

Those stars are still in their bag, that’s how it works in the NBA. But this strategy shocked the Clippers, Rockets and Thunder on offense while keeping the Dubs’ defensive shield intact. By pressing the head of the serpent of these crimes, the warriors avoid excessive helping and selling in order to stop them. Why waste two players and compromise on help when you can use green to do the same and avoid a 4-0n-3 loss on the backend?

“Part of the reason we go [me on the top opposing scorer] Green explained, “So we don’t have to help so much. And I have to take that responsibility and make sure we don’t have to help.”

But the other carryover effect of such a strategy is the possibility of larger lineups. Kerr closed the OKC game with a Giant Green, Horford, Porzingis, Gui Santos and Brandin Podziemski lineup. A lineup in which Green was essentially playing small forward, something he has not done since the Mark Jackson days.

This isn’t a lineup Kerr hopes to use often, but the process behind that lineup may see more use. With their size in Horford and Porzingis, the Warriors can afford to put Green in star perimeter matchups. This way, they can maintain their goal of not helping excessively frequently.

“I love it,” Green said about potentially coming in with a bigger lineup. “I think when you have more size, you’re able to cover more. You’re able to cover mistakes. And then when you have more length you’re able to close the gaps as well. So I like that.”

But the question will be whether Green and the Dubs can maintain the juice they have found in him. Will there be enough motivation when it’s a game against the star-less Utah Jazz or Sacramento Kings? Consistency has been a struggle for Green this season. They know they can call it quits when the lights are brightest, this three-game stretch has proven that. But can he find the motivation to do so when they are not so bright?

Regardless, the Draymond Green they’re gunning for right now is exactly what the Warriors need. Kerr and Green have found the right buttons to push. And the other thing this three-game stretch proved is that Green still has a lot to offer the Warriors in the final stretch.

“Give Draymond the toughest job and put a big man behind him,” Kerr said. “It’s a good formula.”

OKLAHOMA CITY – In a game where the Oklahoma City Thunder overcame a 14-point deficit, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander hit a dagger-3 over the Golden State Warriors’ Draymond Green with 42.4 seconds remaining to help secure a 104–97 win. While All-Star Chet Holmgren led the Thunder to a win against the New York Knicks on Wednesday, it was Gilgeous-Alexander who gave Oklahoma City its 50th win of the regular season.

He led the way with 27 points, five assists and five rebounds. After the game, Gilgeous-Alexander described draining Important 3-Pointer Over Green, giving the Thunder a five-point lead.

“In those moments, I just try to get something I’m comfortable shooting,” Gilgeous-Alexander said. “And over the years, I’ve tried to work on things, and try to add to that bag that I can go anywhere on the floor. It doesn’t matter which way they’re forcing me. In that game, Drummond was forcing me to go to my right. So, I knew I’d be able to get that shot regardless.

“Just stepped into it with confidence, shot it, and whether I made it or missed, I was going to shoot it the same way, and luckily, this time, it went in.”
