If you’re trying to cut down on caffeine or alcohol (or both), you may have looked at TRIP Drinks in your search for a tasty swap.
There are eight different flavours in total, and you can choose from CBD drinks or Mindful Blend options, which contain a mix of Lion’s Mane mushroom and 120mg magnesium citrate.

TRIP Drinks variety pack 12 x 250ml on Amazon, £15.98 (was £22)
TRIP’s low-sugar, brain-boosting, and refreshing botanical blend has impressed a notable number of celebrity investors, including Joe Jonas, Paul Wesley, and Alessandro Ambrosio.
The Wild Strawberry Mindful Blend is also a TikTok Shop bestseller, so I was curious to taste-test the range for myself.
I was also intrigued to see whether the magnesium blends would help reduce tiredness and fatigue, which is often an issue in the colder and darker months of the year.
Usually costing around £2 per can, these are a good alternative to standard soft drinks, though they are slightly more expensive per can.
You can currently pick up a variety pack of 12 cans, which is reduced from £22 to £12.98 at Amazon (it works out at approx £1.09 per can).
Intrigued to see if they were worth the money, I jumped at the chance to try all eight flavours when TRIP Drinks provided a case of cans for a review.
Here’s how I found the flavours, from best to worst.

TRIP Drinks taste test
TRIP Wild Strawberry Mindful Blend

TRIP Wild Strawberry Mindful Blend 12 x 250ml on Amazon, £13.29 (was £24)
- Flavour overview: Fresh, summery, tart-sweet
- Price per can: £1.11
- Rating: 5/5
TRIP has captured the way British strawberries offer a burst of sweetness with a sharp tang in the summer and poured it into a can that can be enjoyed year-round.
Drinking TRIP Wild Strawberry in winter takes my taste buds straight back to lighter, warmer days and brightens me up mentally just as well as any caffeine fix.
Made with just 2.5% fruit from concentrates, it’s not a completely pure taste of strawberries, but TRIP has done a fine job of engineering the flavour.
I thought it tasted far superior to other food and drink products marketed as strawberry that just taste generic and sweet.
This could be because it also contains sour cherries, which provide a pleasing tartness, making it more sippable rather than guzzlable and supporting a mindful fix.
There’s also 120mg of magnesium, which has numerous proven health benefits on the Great Britain Nutrition and Health Claims register, including helping reduce tiredness and fatigue and contributing to the normal functioning of the central nervous system.
I recorded higher sleep and recovery scores on my WHOOP wearable on the days I drank this.
While it could also be because I was drinking it instead of a caffeinated cola drink, I was impressed to see my sleep data improve.
To make it even more appealing, every can of TRIP Wild Strawberry Mindful Blend comes with a free three-month membership to the number one sleep and relaxation app, Calm – ideal for starting 2026 on a positive note.
TRIP Elderflower and Mint CBD Drink

TRIP Elderflower Mint CBD Drink 12 x 250ml on Amazon, £12.43 (was £22)
- Flavour overview: Light, floral, refreshing
- Price per can: £1.04
- Rating: 4.5/5
I may be biased here, as I’m a long-time elderflower fan, but I love how TRIP Elderflower and Mint nails those crisp, garden‑party vibes without turning sickly.
On paper, you’re looking at a lightly sparkling base with around 26% fruit juice from concentrate (surprisingly mostly orange and blood orange), with the elderflower and mint flavour coming from extracts.
There’s also a botanical line‑up of lemon balm, chamomile, a touch of ginseng and L‑theanine (great for the post-lunch energy slump).
In the glass, it feels like a posh pressé, with the elderflower sitting delicately rather than perfumed and the mint lifting the finish rather than barging in.
It’s the sort of grown‑up, low‑sugar can I’d happily reach for late afternoon, whether at my desk or as a treat when I’ve arrived home from work and want to wind down before dinner.
With 25mg of CBD per can, the effect is subtle, more “edge off” than “lights out”, which is precisely what I want.
Personally, I’d rate it a full five if it contained even more elderflower and less mint.
TRIP Cherry Lemon Mindful Blend

TRIP Cherry Lemon Mindful Blend 12 x 250ml on Amazon, £14.49 (was £19.99)
- Flavour overview: Refreshingly tart, heavy on the cherry, slight strawberry aftertaste
- Price per can: £1.20
- Rating: 4.4/5
I’m a huge cherry fan, so I couldn’t wait to try the TRIP Cherry Lemon Mindful Blend.
Initially, you can taste sour cherry, and then a mixed berry taste kicks in, powered by strawberry and grape.
Unlike the Sicilian lemon TRIP, the lemon is not overpowering and perfectly balances the cherries’ sweetness.
Each serving contains 120mg of Magnesium, which has been proven to contribute to the normal functioning of the nervous and psychological systems.
Plus, this TRIP Mindful Blend recipe includes lion’s mane and chamomile, which have other benefits.
You won’t find this in most alcoholic beverages, which can impair the cells in the nervous system.
If you normally crave a glass of wine when you’re feeling stressed, TRIP Cherry Lemon is a genuinely tasty alternative.
Honestly, I didn’t find it quite as refreshing as TRIP Wild Strawberry, but Cherry Lemon is my second favourite of all the Mindful Blends.
TRIP Raspberry Orange Blossom CBD Drink

TRIP Raspberry Orange Blossom CBD Drink 12 x 250ml on Amazon, £13.20 (was £22)
- Flavour overview: Fruity, soft, uncomplicated, comforting
- Price per can: £1.10
- Rating: 4.3/5
For anyone who prefers fruit to botanicals, TRIP Raspberry Orange Blossom has a simple flavour profile.
Without basil or rosemary or mint, which can sometimes make a drink feel like a punishment, the recipe brings roughly 28% fruit juice from concentrate (apple, grape, guava and a little raspberry), orange blossom and familiar calming bits like lemon balm, chamomile, ginseng and L‑theanine and finished with CBD.
On the tongue, the raspberry tastes just‑ripe rather than syrupy, while the orange blossom adds a soft, perfume‑like note that’s nothing like orangeade, giving you rounded sweetness that stops short of sticky.
It’s the safest pick for fruit‑first drinkers and an easy replacement for a 3pm fizzy fix when you want something premium but uncomplicated.
The CBD element paused me to stop and take a breath, rather than giving me a sugar high and a crash like a regular fizzy drink.
I’m not sure I’d reach for this in the evening unless I put vodka in it, which kind of defeats the point, but it’s lower in calories than Coca-Cola and more flavoursome than Diet Coke.
TRIP Peach Ginger CBD Drink

TRIP Peach Ginger CBD Drink 12 x 250ml on Amazon, £12.75 (was £22)
- Flavour overview: Warming, strong ginger kick, semi-sweet aftertaste
- Price per can: £1.06
- Rating: 4.2/5
Ginger is very much the captain here, and if you enjoy that punchy, ginger‑ale energy, you’ll be right at home.
The TRIP Peach Ginger recipe is a lightly sparkling blend that variously lists around 20–23% juice from concentrate (peach and passion fruit), real ginger, lemon balm, chamomile, ginseng and L‑theanine, sweetened with erythritol and stevia, and a measured dose of CBD.
In the mouth, the ginger brings warm spice and a little heat, while the peach delivers softer, nectar‑like sweetness that never quite takes over.
The overall effect is like a lighter ginger beer with a cleaner finish.
I would drink this in the evening, and if I close my eyes, I could be drinking a Dark and Stormy rum and ginger beer cocktail.
It was also great as an alternative to my mid-morning coffee, as the ginger offers a bite that wakes up the brain and palate.
TRIP Apple Blossom Mindful Blend

TRIP Apple Blossom Mindful Blend 12 x 250ml on Amazon, £16.99 (was £19.99)
- Flavour overview: Crisp, floral, orchard-fresh
- Price per can: £1.41
- Rating: 4.1/5
If you like your apple drinks more country pressé than school-lunch carton, TRIP Apple Blossom will be right up your street.
The can follows TRIP’s Mindful Blend template: lightly sparkling, low sugar, and built on a fruit juice base led by apple from concentrate, with a gentle apple blossom note layered over familiar botanicals like lemon balm and chamomile.
It’s lightly sweetened (think stevia/erythritol territory) and rounded out with Lion’s Mane and magnesium for that calm-but-clear edge.
On the palate, it opens with a dry, crisp apple snap, the blossom bringing a soft, perfumed lift rather than anything soapy, and the finish stays clean and grown-up like a pared-back orchard pressé rather than an Appletiser.
It’s the kind of can I’d happily crack at my desk in the late afternoon to get me through to the end of the working day.
In the evening, I’d usually want something with a more complicated flavour, as it’s a little too easy to knock this back super fast.
I can’t complain that it’s uncomfortable or unpleasant to drink, but it just feels a little boring compared to some of TRIP’s other flavours.
TRIP Sicilian Lemon Mindful Blend

1
TRIP Sicilian Lemon Mindful Blend 12 x 250ml on Amazon, £14.99(was £22)
- Flavour overview: Bitter-leaning, crisp, sharp
- Rating: 4/5
I was expecting a sweet lemonade, but what I got was something far more grown‑up and decidedly savoury.
The can mixes lemon juice (around 7% from concentrate) with grape juice, basil flavouring, lemon balm, chamomile, ginseng and L‑theanine, sweetened with erythritol and stevia, and 120mg magnesium folded into the blend.
In taste, it’s miles away from the likes of Sprite, 7-Up and lemon Fanta, and I thought it was similar to old‑fashioned lemonade or a homemade lemonade.
It also has a noticeable bitter edge, which will be catnip for anyone who enjoys cocktails like Negroni.
I drank it with dinner as an alternative to a glass of white wine.
With grilled chicken and fresh vegetables, the acidity felt refreshing.
I’d recommend it as an afternoon pick-me-up for people who prefer tangy and sharp things to sweet, but I didn’t overly enjoy drinking it on its own.
TRIP Blood Orange Mindful Blend

TRIP Blood Orange Mindful Blend 12 x 250ml at Amazon, £15
- Flavour overview: Aromatic, citrusy, slightly savoury
- Price per can: £1.25
- Rating: 3.5/5
If you’re expecting this to taste like Fanta, you’ll be in for a bitter shock.
TRIP Blood Orange is pithy with a hint of bitterness, channelling Italian aperitivo energy without any alcohol.
The recipe lists around 26% fruit juice from concentrate, including about 5% blood orange alongside orange and lime, with calming botanicals like lemon balm and chamomile, plus the Mindful Blend of Lion’s Mane and 120mg magnesium.
I would recommend pouring this into a big glass with an orange peel garnish and sipping while catching up on your favourite TV series.
The complex flavour is better suited to the evening than to the day, when I’d rather have something more immediately pleasing on the palate.
For me, the blood orange flavour loses points for versatility, as I wouldn’t reach for it when sitting at my desk in the afternoon.
