Club must make move for West Ham player – free transfer not attractive enough

Werder Bremen having to ‘weigh the pros and cons’ of moving forward of west ham united Niklas Fulkrug this summer, even if he is available on a free transfer.

BILD covers 33 years old today And explain how his former club will not blindly rush to sign the striker this summer.

Werder weigh up West Ham flop

The newspaper reports that Werder Bremen have been discussing a move for Nicklas Fulkrug since the January transfer window. That never happened at the time, as he joined AC Milan on loan, but now he is in the news again.

Werder are looking for a prolific striker, a requirement that Fulkrug fulfills. But no transfer is concrete at this time.

While the West Ham striker is on Werder’s radar, he is not among the top contenders. For starters, it’s not clear what West Ham want from him.

His current deal runs until 2028 There has been talk of a free transfer Only the arrangement to withdraw his wages from the books of accounts.

But Werder thinks that’s not possible. And even if the Hammers approve, Fulkrug would need to make significant financial sacrifices to make the move. The vendor will not be able to pay even one third of its current package.

positive and negative

He also has an ‘extensive injury history’ to consider. Fulkrug has missed 28 Premier League games in one and a half years at West Ham. He was injury free with 20 appearances for Milan, but produced ‘weak’ statistics.

Signing him could be controversial, especially after other failed risky transfers in recent years.

Werders, on the other hand, value their leadership qualities. He could be important for a young Bremen team next season. But the question is whether these positives outweigh the other negatives.

The German side now needs to consider its options. Do they take the risk, or do they target someone else? That is the question they will have to answer in the coming weeks.

Crystal Palace lead race for free signings – challengers face stiff competition from Eagles

crystal Palace And Bayer Leverkusen will compete for AS Monaco’s Crepin Diet this summer.

The winger had the chance to arrive in England last summer, when Burnley reportedly made contact.

Last August, Sports Witness broadcast news of a loan offer from the Clarets, while the Ligue 1 side were looking for a sale.

The move never came to fruition and a year later, Crystal Palace are trying to bring him to the Premier League.

The Senegal international’s contract expires at the end of this month and he is likely to leave Monaco as a free agent.

Feud between Crystal Palace and Bayer Leverkusen

Africa Foot Crepin Dieta has a report on the Eagles and the Bundesliga side’s interest. His headline suggests that both of these Cubs are in a battle to sign him.

The report states that both Crystal Palace and the German club are the frontrunners.

Bayer Leverkusen remain in top spot after holding two meetings with their representatives to discuss a potential deal. However, the parties did not come to an agreement.

The outlet has warned they face stiff competition from the UEFA Conference League winners. The Senegal international’s preferred role is on the right wing but he has played mainly as a right wing-back this season.

He can also be used as a left winger/wing-back and as a striker. The Eagles appreciate Dyatta’s versatility and experience and are keen to bring him to Selhurst Park. Africa Foot have not made it clear whether Crystal Palace have yet contacted his camp.

Saudi Arabia are also interested in the 27-year-old, but his desire is to remain in the top five European leagues.

New Crystal Palace manager could be key

Oliver Glasner resigned as Eagles manager following the European success in May.

The Premier League side are in the process of appointing the Austrian’s successor. The incoming manager could make the final decision on whether Crystal Palace should make a strong bid to sign Crepin Dyata.

transfer market The Senegalese is valued at €6m and he has played 1,235 minutes in 22 matches this season.

Minnesota Vikings praised for ‘savvy’ free agent signing

Despite firing their full-time general manager and working with interim GM Rob Brzezinski, the Minnesota Vikings managed to make several bargain free agency signings.

Nothing could be more impressive than adding potential starting quarterback Kyler Murray for just $1.3 million. Still, the recent signing of Jaun Jennings could be a suitable replacement for Jalen Naylor who would help boost the rushing attack and give another reliable weapon to a QB not named Justin Jefferson, Jordan Addison or TJ Hockenson.

Nevertheless, one of the first moves the Vikings made was to sign nickelback James Pierre to a two-year, $8.5 million contract. Clearly, this was a cornerback that the Vikings and defensive coordinator Brian Flores preferred.

2024 NFL coaching candidate, Brian Flores
Mandatory Credit: Jamie Sabau-USA TODAY Sports

recently, athleticRobert Maze called Pierre’s signing “sensible”.

“Since Week 10, which is right when James Pierre started playing at a high clip, the Steelers were playing Cover 2 about 20 percent of the time, which was the fifth-highest rate in the league. He’s going to Minnesota, where they’re doing it 26, 27 percent of the time. If you go back and think about Pierre’s best moments the second half of last season, most of them are where he was playing Cover 2 in the flat.” Playing corner, he was very adept at doing that job and now he’s getting to a place where they’re going to ask their corners to do it more than almost any other team.

The Athletic’s Robert Hayes on James Pierre

Pierre’s role in Minnesota is clearly defined. Byron Murphy Jr. and Isaiah Rodgers are the starting cornerbacks in Minnesota, but Pierre will play a key role in covering the slot as the Vikings’ third corner.

Additionally, without the addition of Pierre, the Vikings would likely have prioritized drafting a cornerback much earlier, potentially taking prospects like Caleb Banks, Jake Gould, or Domonique Orange out of the picture, but each is likely to have a unique role in coach Flores’ defense as a rookie.

Detroit Red Wings linked to top 2026 NHL free agent amid offseason rumors

The Detroit Red Wings are looking to make big moves during the 2026 NHL offseason that will get them back to the Stanley Cup Playoffs. As of 2026, the Red Wings have the NHL’s longest playoff drought, so Detroit will have to make the playoffs next season. In fact, one NHL insider has labeled one of the NHL’s best free agents as a potential fit in Detroit.

The Athletic’s Max Bultmann named Seattle Kraken forward Bobby McMann as the free agent Detroit should sign this offseason. McMann, who was traded from the Toronto Maple Leafs to the Kraken at the NHL trade deadline, scored 29 goals and 46 points in 78 games between the two organizations.

The 29-year-old forward would bring much-needed five-on-five attack to Detroit on a potentially big payday. However, who else did Bultmann suggest for the Red Wings?

Other potential NHL free agent targets for the Detroit Red Wings

Buffalo Sabers right wing Alex Tuch (89) skates with the puck during the third period of an NHL hockey game against the New York Islanders on Saturday, Nov. 30, 2024 in Elmont, N.Y. (AP Photo/Noah K. Murray)

While McMann was the top selection, Bultmann also suggested other players, including Buffalo Sabers forward Alex Tuch. The 30-year-old forward may be the top NHL free agent on the market, but will Buffalo really let him walk? Tuch has scored more than 30 goals in three of the last four seasons.

Meanwhile, Columbus Blue Jackets forward Mason Marchment was another option. Marchement doesn’t provide as much offense as Tuch or McMann, but he could be a cheaper option. However, if Detroit wants to add one of the top free agents, it will have to make a big move or go home.

This leads us to Pittsburgh Penguins forward Evgeni Malkin. The Pittsburgh legend is nearing the end of his career, but he has become a Red Wings fan. Malkin can still score around 20 goals per season, and there’s a possibility he’ll get a hometown discount for his favorite team as he grows up.

At the end of the day, McMann, along with Tuch, appears to be one of the top options for Detroit. The latter will be a larger pickup; However, there are doubts that it will reach the market. In this case, McMann appears to be one of the top options left.

Either way, the Red Wings need to take a big step forward this offseason to make the 2027 Stanley Cup Playoffs.

Green Bay Packers named top fit for top veteran in NFL free agency

The Green Bay Packers were relatively quiet in NFL free agency this offseason, with general manager Brian Gutekunst looking to preserve compensatory selections in the 2027 NFL Draft. Now that that is no longer a factor, the team is being linked to a potential role player who is still available.

ESPN’s Matt Bowen reports the Packers are the best fit for free-agent edge rusher AJ Epenesa.

“The Packers lost rotational edge rusher Kingsley Enagbare to the Jets in free agency, so the team could add his replacement in Epenesa. He’s a long, powerful mover who can break the edge with his 6-foot-6, 260-pound frame. He can also make disruptive plays under new coordinator Jonathan Gannon, as he recorded 24.5 sacks and four interceptions in six seasons with the Bills. Are.”

Matt Burrows on AJ Epense as fit for Green Bay Packers

RELATED: Contract extensions planned for 4 Green Bay Packers players

Once the 2026 NFL Draft concludes, free-agent signings have no impact on the compensation formula for the 2027 NFL Draft. That’s why Green Bay wasted little time in signing veteran quarterback Tyrod Taylor.

There are still obvious areas for improvement on the Packers’ roster. Green Bay could use an in-line blocking tight end to pair with Tucker Craft, depth at running back is an issue due to Marshon Lloyd’s durability issues, and depth at nose tackle is still needed.

Connected: Green Bay Packers players who may be out in 2026

6-foot-6 edge rusher Epenesa has been a rotational player for most of his career. Last season, he played 438 snaps for the Buffalo Bills, and he played less than 50 percent of the team’s defensive snaps in five of his six seasons in the NFL.

In 2025, Epenesa recorded 12 pressures, 9 quarterback hits and 17 solo tackles with 4 pass deflections, 2.5 sacks and 2 interceptions in 16 games. Epenesa, who turns 28 in September, earned a 48.6 PFF run-blocking grade along with a 63.5 pass-rushing grade in 2025.

RELATED: Green Bay Packers who could be on the roster bubble in 2026

With All-Pro edge rusher Micah Parsons likely to miss the first four games of the season recovering from ACL surgery, pass-rushing depth is essential. Signing Epenesa would allow Packers defensive coordinator Jonathan Gannon to rotate him with Carl Brooks, Lucas Van Ness, Brenton Cox Jr. and Barry Sorrell.

Realistically, any veteran Green Bay signs in NFL free agency at this point will be landing a one-year contract. Beyond Epenesa, there are also options like Derek Barnett, Dante Fowler Jr., Brandon Graham, and Haason Redick.

Team linked to standout big man in NBA free agency

The Sacramento Kings needed lottery luck to accelerate their rebuild. After falling to seventh overall, it appears that NBA free agency may now play a role in the Kings’ front office retooling the roster.

The New York Post’s Stephen Bondy spoke with sources around the league who described the Kings as a threat to poach center Mitchell Robinson away from the New York Knicks.

RELATED: Kings linked to bizarre trade for superstar

Robinson, age 28, was drafted by the Knicks with the 36th overall selection in the 2018 NBA draft. This occurred when Kings general manager Scott Perry held the same title with New York. The 7-foot center immediately earned All-Rookie Second Team honors in his first season, and he has been a key bench player for the team for the past three years.

After eight seasons in New York, Robinson is looking for a better opportunity elsewhere. He has started just 19 games over the past two seasons and has not averaged more than 20 minutes per contest since the 2023–24 campaign. Coming off a season where he made $12.954 million, he may also be looking for a better salary.

RELATED: Sacramento Kings coach’s salary revealed

However, Sacramento will need to reduce payroll before going after Robinson. Zach LaVine ($48.967 million) and Domantas Sabonis ($45.472 million) are making more than $90 million combined next season, and that doesn’t even include the more than $45 million owed to De’Andre Hunter ($24.91 million) and Malik Monk ($20.19 million). Sacramento may also have to move on from DeMar DeRozan, paying him $10 million before his $25.74 million salary for next season becomes fully guaranteed.

If Perry is able to move Sabonis this summer then Robinson is an interesting short-term fit for Sacramento. However, given that the franchise is still in a multi-year rebuild, owner Vivek Ranadive will likely prioritize ways to save money this off-season.

Florida Panthers add surprise NHL star in free agency

The Florida Panthers are considering making the necessary moves to make the 2027 Stanley Cup Playoffs. After winning the Stanley Cup Finals the previous two seasons, Florida missed the playoffs due to excessive injuries. Now, the Panthers have time to rest, and they could be a destination for one of the NHL’s best defensemen.

ESPN personality John Buccigross could see John Karlsson join the Panthers for the 2026-27 NHL season on Frankly Hockey. Karlsson joined the Washington Capitals during the 2009–2010 NHL season and spent 17 years with the organization before being traded to the Anaheim Ducks.

Now, Karlsson is set to become a free agent, so what does Florida have to do to get him this summer?

What the Florida Panthers need to do to sign John Carlson

Karlsson is scheduled to become an unrestricted free agent during the 2026 NHL offseason, and should be in demand. The 36-year-old defenseman is a top-5 free agent this offseason with $8 million in earnings. So, what will Carlson demand from Florida this summer?

Signing Karlsson to a two- or three-year contract worth $8-10 million per season would likely be necessary. According to Spotrac, the Panthers are projected to have approximately $15 million in cap space this offseason. This doesn’t include Florida’s need for two goaltenders, including Sergei Bobrovsky.

Carlson would be an excellent fit with the Panthers, giving the team reliable star power on defense. The 36-year-old defenseman will fuel Florida’s offense in another run to the Stanley Cup Finals. Ultimately, Carlson fits the timeline for Florida, as the organization looks for another championship.

Although a return to Washington may not be a possibility, Karlsson could return to Anaheim if the team gets a chance to acquire him. The Ducks are a young and rising organization, but the Panthers may be a better fit over the next two to three years.

Carlson should make around $10 million, but it remains to be seen if Florida can add him to the payroll.

Newcastle United approached to sign big-name free agent – Magpies aiming high

newcastle united Dusan has stepped in for Vlahovic, whose situation at Juventus is becoming increasingly uncertain.

As things stand, the Serbian’s contract in Turin expires in the summer. He has had a season hampered by injuries, most recently coming back from a groin problem and a calf problem.

The striker scored a fine goal against Lecce at the weekend, giving Juve a 1–0 win.

This comes just days after he scored a vital equalizer against Hellas Verona. Despite problems throughout the campaign, his impact has been clearly seen in the Champions League race. Juve currently find themselves in the top four and Vlahovic’s contribution has come at the right time.

sports witness English interest in him has already been covered, with Tottenham being mentioned as potential suitors. Time is running out for a new deal and Newcastle United are attempting to make a move.

Vlahovic sets conditions for transfer

today’s tuttosport The Serbia international pays attention to the situation, marking his possible options in the summer. There is no dearth of clubs who could sign him but things have not gone in the right direction yet.

Juve are also hesitant about whether they can afford to pay him a huge salary, sign-on bonus and commission to his agent.

There remains interest from Bayern Munich and Barcelona but there has been no concrete result. The German side made inquiries but Vlahovic does not want to play second fiddle to Harry Kane.

Recently, Atletico Madrid have also stepped forward. He may not even be able to offer regular first-team minutes until Alexander Sörloth leaves.

Meanwhile, interest from Newcastle United has emerged. He has inquired about the terms of the deal and tried to understand the financial situation involved.

The Magpies cannot attract the striker. Even if they can hand him regular football, he is still keen to play in the Champions League. Eddie Howe’s team will not play any European football next season, making them less attractive.

As a result, the forward could seriously consider staying in Turin.

Deal is risky for Newcastle United

dusan vlahovic

Dusan Vlahovic’s goalscoring abilities can never be doubted. His performance against Lecce was brilliant. Even when Juve struggled to serve under Max Allegri, he still managed to score goals.

His fitness has not been that good. Muscle injuries have increased – as is evident from the ongoing campaign. Therefore Newcastle United should think carefully.

Even if Vlahovic is available for free, he is still in a position to command a high salary. Their group will demand large commissions, as well as player sign-on bonuses.

NFL Insider breaks down the excitement over the New York Giants’ potential free agent signing

We’ve reached the slow part of the offseason, where the remaining veterans are still hoping to land one of the 90 roster spots on one of the 32 NFL teams. One team that has undergone significant change after hiring a new head coach, the New York Giants, has been a popular destination for some.

We’ve seen past greats come out and say they would love to play for new coach John Harbaugh. It also stars Jason Pierre-Paul. But it turns out, he’s not the only former Giants franchise icon who wants to re-join Big Blue for the 2026 season.

Football: Fanatics Flag Football Classic
kirby lee-image images

Wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. has also been vocal about returning to the NFL after spending 2025 out of the game. But OBJ doesn’t want to join just any team; He wants to play for the Giants.

Still, like Sports IllustratedIn Albert Breer’s opinion, the idea of adding Beckham to the team may actually be better than not actually adding him to the team.

“Do I think this could be a really good story about a guy who wants to play football again? I do. And I’m willing to be that. But let’s not turn it into something it’s not.”

Breyer reveals several truths about where the 33-year-old receiver is in his career. Not only did Beckham not play football last season, but he also hasn’t had a 1,000-yard season since 2019, the year before he was traded to the Giants.

it gets worse.

Beckham hasn’t played a game since 2023 where he topped 20 yards. In other words, it’s hard to imagine that a young player who may be more equipped to help on special teams wouldn’t be a more ideal long-term fit for a veteran team that already has its top four receivers on the roster.

Minnesota Vikings ‘believe they got a steal’ with NFL free agency signings

The Minnesota Vikings had a busy offseason, looking to replace one general manager. They also shed several major salaries, but the Vikings believe they have found low-cost replacements for all of them.

While Jaune Jennings was more on the spendy side of things, even his $8 million base salary comes in at a bargain price, considering he recorded 975 yards and six touchdowns in 2024. Still just 28 years old, Jennings is expected to take over for last year’s WR3 Jalen Naylor. While Jennings isn’t as fast as “Speedy”, he will be a better run blocker, and he is far more adept as a receiver.

Yet, even more than signing Jennings, the Vikings believe they made a steal by adding Kyler Murray at a bargain price of just $1.3 million, according to ESPN’s NFL insider Jeremy Fowler. Although he has yet to play any actual games for Minnesota, the coaching staff is “thrilled” with Murray so far.

“He carries himself as an alpha; not in an egotistical way, just he has experience, he believes he can win that job over JJ McCarthy, guy. Also, the offensive coaches are thrilled with how he’s attacked things, how he’s been in meetings. So, they believe they’ve got a real steal here. There’s a blueprint for Kyler Murray, based on what Daniel Jones did a year ago, somewhere new.” Play, get a one-year deal, knock it out of the park and then get the big money as an established starter.”

ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler on Kyler Murray

The Vikings continue to paint a picture where Murray will compete with JJ McCarthy for the starting QB job in 2026. Still, on the outside, most expected the job to be lost to Murray, meaning McCarthy would have to come back significantly improved from his rookie year.

Still, Murray has proven to be far more so in live games, which will give him the edge until McCarthy proves otherwise. This can never happen. If that happens, Minnesota will have a nice problem with two competent starters instead of no one at all.

Leeds United in ‘tug of war’ for free signing – player wants €1.2m per year plus €2.5m bonuses

leeds united Marseille are among the clubs chasing Bilal Nadir ahead of the summer.

The midfielder’s contract expires in June, which would allow him to leave the Ligue 1 team on a free.

On 22 April, Game Witness broadcast news Leeds United are set to sign him for free.

The 22-year-old came close to agreeing a new contract, but there have been a number of changes at the club.

Roberto De Zerbi and president Pablo Longoria have both left Marseille and sporting director Medhi Benatia will leave after this season.

Minnesota Vikings predicted to sign free agent to address ‘major roster hole’

Interim Minnesota Vikings general manager Rob Brzezinski spent four of the team’s top five selections in the 2026 NFL Draft on defensive prospects. This comes after the Vikings had the seventh-best defense in points allowed last season.

Their heavy defensive emphasis, spending five of the team’s nine picks on guards, suggests that Minnesota is satisfied with its offense. Although the team has since indicated that it was not their intention to make the top half of the draft so defensive-focused, the results are what they are. While the injection of talent was also much needed, especially after the departures of Harrison Smith, Jonathan Allen and Javon Hargrave, the Vikings also have a significant need to focus on offense after losing receiver Jalen Naylor.

recently, athleticVikings insider Alec Lewis went so far as to call the team’s WR3 position a “major roster hole.”

The Vikings top the offense with one of the NFL’s best receiver tandems in Justin Jefferson and Jordan Addison. Still, the rest of the team’s receivers have combined for three receptions, all of which belong to Tai Felton, who is set to enter his sophomore season. That’s why Lewis predicts the Vikings will address the receiver position by signing a veteran who will compete with Felton for WR3 duties in Minnesota.

“The first major roster hole is the No. 3 wide receiver spot. Felton, who was a third-round pick in 2025, could lay claim to that role, but it may be a bit more than expected. The Vikings brought in free-agent receiver Jaun Jennings for a few exploratory sessions, and signing him remains a possibility. Other savvy, block-first receivers will also be available.”

As mentioned, the Vikings recently brought in former San Francisco 49ers receiver Jaune Jennings for a workout and a two-day visit. But he left the team facilities without a contract. The 28-year-old’s signature remains in the game.

Other potential Vikings free agent receiver targets could include Odell Beckham Jr., who previously won a Super Bowl with head coach Kevin O’Connell on the Los Angeles Rams. DeAndre Hopkins has also expressed interest in reuniting with Kyler Murray in Minnesota. The Vikings could also turn to the trade market to address what appears to be a major weakness in an offense that otherwise looks set.

Miami Dolphins express interest in top free agent after NFL Draft

After gutting the roster and cutting millions in salary, the Miami Dolphins got much better during the 2026 NFL Draft. The Dolphins included 13 players in the draft, but that doesn’t mean the team addressed all of their weaknesses and needs.

Shortly after the draft ended, the Dolphins were already linked to one of the top remaining free agents.

according to miami heraldBarry Jackson The Dolphins have shown interest in wide receiver Jaun Jennings since the start of free agency. Nevertheless, there is no indication that the interests are mutual.

“In fact, according to a source, the Dolphins – since the start of free agency – have expressed interest in 49ers free agent receiver Jaune Jennings,” Jackson wrote. “But they don’t have the money to satisfy his contractual wishes, and Sullivan has said Miami is not going to spend big in free agency after June 1.”

The former San Francisco 49ers receiver is currently visiting with the Minnesota Vikings, and is expected to stay through Wednesday as well. Chances are, the Vikings will make every effort to ensure that Jennings does not leave their facility without a signed contract.

Come 4pm ET on April 29, teams will be able to sign free agents without impacting their future compensatory selection formula. This could be just what teams like the Vikings have been waiting for, but the real question may center on how much money Jennings is asking for.

Jennings, 28, recorded 643 yards and nine touchdowns last season. He’ll likely play a much bigger role in the Dolphins’ offense than the Vikings, where he’ll be behind Justin Jefferson and Jordan Addison. Nevertheless, the Dolphins are expected to struggle in a rebuilding season, while the Vikings are expected to compete for a playoff spot again. This could be just what Jennings is looking for.

The Minnesota Vikings are hosting top free agents on Tuesday and Wednesday

While there was a lot of criticism from the outside, especially after ‘reaching’ with the 18th overall pick for defensive tackle Caleb Banks, the Minnesota Vikings are happy with the results of their 2026 NFL Draft class. However, that doesn’t mean that the nine selections they made met all of their needs.

One noticeable absence was the fact that the Vikings did not select any wide receivers. It came as a surprise when the team let last year’s WR3, Jalen Naylor, sign with the Las Vegas Raiders. His potential replacement, last year’s third-round pick Tai Felton, had only 25 yards as a rookie.

Still, the Vikings freed up some extra cap space with the Jonathan Greenard trade, and now they’re trying to use some of it to address arguably one of their biggest needs.

According to ESPN’s NFL insider Adam Schefter, the Vikings are hosting free agent receiver Jaun Jennings for a visit from Tuesday through Wednesday. By setting up two-day meetings, it’s clear the Vikings are applying a full-court press, trying to get Jennings signed to a contract before he leaves the team facilities on Wednesday.

Jennings recorded a career-high 77 receptions for 965 yards with six touchdowns in 2024. Hoping to build on those strong numbers, the 28-year-old receiver’s numbers took off in 2025, where he recorded 55 receptions for 643 yards and a career-high nine touchdowns.

However, when he reached free agency, Jennings did not find the market he would have liked. Perhaps his asking price was a bit high.

Now that teams have addressed their most pressing needs through free agency and the draft, Jennings’ options have dried up, and they will certainly have to lower his asking price.

The 6-foot-3, 212-pound receiver should have an easy transition learning Kevin O’Connell’s offense, as he has just spent five seasons mastering Kyle Shanahan’s system. He will also add a unique element to the team’s receiver room, adding even more size to the table.

If he signs, Jennings will immediately become the team’s new No. 3 receiver, falling behind Justin Jefferson and Jordan Addison, and he will give Kyler Murray another reliable pass-catcher to target in the red zone.

‘Interest expressed’ – Swansea City to battle Ligue 1 side for free signing

swansea city Continue to keep Toulouse FC’s Franck Magri on your radar for the summer.

Zane Vipotnik has been leading the Championship side’s attack this season.

The Slovenian striker has performed brilliantly, scoring 24 goals and providing three assists in 47 matches.

His future remains uncertain and earlier this week, Vitor Matos admitted that Vipotnik could leave after this season.

He said: : “Now, obviously, we work within a reality where selling players is always an important factor. You always have to be prepared for the possibility that offers may come that the club considers worth accepting.”

Swansea City maintained interest

Faced with this possibility, Swansea City have already decided to take action and have set their sights on the Toulouse player.

is according to Africa FootWho cover the latest on the Welsh club’s efforts to try to sign him.

Frank Magri was already on his agenda in the winter market, and the Swans had also made an approach. The club also attempted to sign him last summer by offering €4m. It is unclear why the deal did not go through, but they have retained their interest.

Swansea City have identified France-born Cameroon international as a potential successor to Zane Vipotnik.

The Ligue 1 striker’s contract expires in June and he looks to start a new phase of his career next season. This is a market opportunity for Vitor Matos’ side, who have already ‘expressed interest’ in him.

As well as Championship side, Angers SCO are also keen on the frontman. Therefore, Swansea City will have to battle with the Ligue 1 side to secure his signature.

The report made no mention of whether the Welsh club would sign Magri if Vipotnik stayed.

Prices, stats and agent information

Franck Magri has scored five goals and provided one assist in 17 Ligue 1 matches this season.

He has not appeared in any match since January as he had to spend 72 days out of the field due to a knee injury. The frontman appears to have recovered from the blow but was left out of the squad for the last two league matches.

transfer market He is valued at €4m, and agency Team Reag Consulting is managing the Swansea City target.

The top remaining free agents finally land in San Diego

Lucas Giolito’s free agency saga has finally come to an end.

After being one of the top-rated free agents heading into the 2026 season, his offseason was relatively sparse. Despite interest from several clubs, his agents could not find a preferred number at any time in the offseason.

That changed this morning, as the San Diego Padres announced the signing of Giolito on the X. The move is a way for the Friars to strengthen their rotation after Nick Pivetta landed on the injured list for the indefinite future. He will be able to join the club around mid-May.

Giolito must be added to the roster within 25 days of his signing. Kevin Ace of the San Diego Union-Tribune reported that he would begin his season with Low-A Lake Elsinore. This is likely so the Padres’ coaching staff can evaluate him after the offseason. Giolito has stated on several occasions that he has been pitching throughout his vacation, but trainers would still like to check his stuff.

Salary implications for ascetics

It is reported that the contract is worth $3 million and is prorated. This means the Friars are only paying Giolito for the time he has spent with them (not for the portion of the season he has missed so far).

If that amount is correct, it would be a steal for San Diego. General manager AJ Preller has been overpaid in the past. Starting pitching is also at a premium in MLB, so it’s surprising to see one of the top-rated free agent pitchers at $3 million by the end of April 22nd.

Giolito has been a great back-end option for the Boston Red Sox over the past few years. This culminated in a career-best 3.41 ERA in 2025. While there was speculation that this would not last long, their underlying metrics are painting a different picture. But the Padres (and their lack of starting pitching depth) are willing to take a gamble on the right-hander.

Over the years, he has battled countless injuries that have kept him off the field. The Padres are hoping to get a full, healthy season from Giolito. If that’s the case, he’ll be considered as a depth option for the rest of 2026. It’s possible that once everyone is healthy he will stop rotating between the big and the small. But if Giolito competes well enough to earn a spot, the Friars will have no choice but to keep him.

Insider highlights Kyle Busch’s limited options as a free agent

With Kyle Busch’s Cup Series win streak now reaching triple digits, his contract year is likely to end as he misses the win for the third consecutive season. With Richard Childress’s departure from Racing feeling inevitable, it appears the future Hall of Famer may discover in NASCAR’s silly season that he has no better options.

on the latest episode of teardownJordan Bianchi of The Athletic said that Busch will have to settle for the same situation he is in now as he will not have the opportunity to join one of NASCAR’s four best teams.

“Let’s say he decides to go somewhere else and you look at the landscape. He’s not going to a big team. He’s not going to Hendrick Motorsports, he’s not going to 23XI, he’s not going to go back to Joe Gibbs Racing. Like, what are his options? You start to look at where the landscape is and it’s going to be a similar situation where it’s a team where, yes, they have some potential and promise, but they also Is there something uncle?”

The Athletic’s Jordan Bianchi on Kyle Busch’s team options for next season

RELATED: Kyle Busch hits back at Denny Hamlin

Let’s start with 23XI Racing. Bubba Wallace, who is eighth in points, is already under contract for the 2027 season in the No. 23 car. Meanwhile, reporting has indicated that top prospect Corey Haim will replace Riley Herbst in the No. 35 car next season. As for Tyler Reddick, who has won five times in nine races this season, co-owner Denny Hamlin has made it clear that a contract extension is coming, even if it’s an expensive one.

As far as Joe Gibbs Racing is concerned, they are very pleased with the results delivered by Hamlin, Chase Briscoe, Christopher Bell and Ty Gibbs. While a plan will need to be made as to who drives the No. 11 car after Hamlin retires after the 2027 season, all signs point to it being Brent Cruz.

RELATED: Denny Hamlin gives clear message on Kyle Busch’s struggles

Busch won’t be moving to Team Penske, which has had its own issues of inconsistency this season, and Hendrick wants a long-term option for the No. 48 car if he’s going to replace Alex Bowman. Due to this the top four teams were out of the table.

Spire Motorsports seemed the most logical choice for Busch coming into the season. However, Carson Hocevar is the future face of the team, and Daniel Suarez is exceeding expectations for them by driving the No. 7 car this year.

RELATED: NASCAR Cup Series all-time win list, including Kyle Busch and Denny Hamlin

It’s also worth noting that teammate Austin Dillon has outperformed Busch this season, and the No. 3 car is the only one to drive a win for RCR in the last few years. So, while he almost certainly won’t be behind the wheel of the No. 8 car in 2027, Busch could end up joining a team where the results will be exactly the same. If this happens, the conversation may focus on whether or not it is time for them to retire.

Report claims WWE is aiming to make another AEW star a free agent soon

According to Dave Meltzer at the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, WWE is already making internal plans to move Persephone once her current contract situation opens up.

The 24-year-old signed with AEW earlier this year under a rare dual-contract arrangement that also allows him to continue competing in CMLL, but with that deal set to expire at the end of the year, WWE is apparently keeping a close eye on him and is prepared to take action.

Meltzer claimed, “Those guys in WWE are already talking about trying to get Persephone when her dual contract expires later this year.”

WWE’s determination of interest is notable given the prior context surrounding his signing. Earlier this year it was clarified that the story that WWE had never spoken to Persephone while she was under contract with CMLL, meaning she chose AEW over WWE, was false – WWE was legally unable to take any action at the time. It appears the promotion has used that window to take a closer look at him rather than make a full-blown move, and internal discussions are reportedly underway before his deal expires.

Persephone’s dual-contract setup led to her signing AEW to one of the most unique arrangements in recent memory, allowing her to maintain her CMLL commitments while beginning her run with the promotion. However, there is a defined endpoint to that arrangement, and once that happens, given the interest that already exists on both sides, he could quickly become one of the most sought-after signings on the market.

For AEW, the situation raises an obvious question about long-term planning. If WWE is already talking internally about pursuing Persephone, there’s pressure on the promotion to move toward a long-term extension before that window opens.

New York Liberty make big splash in WNBA free agency, add 3-time All-Star

After taking a step back from their lofty status of being annual WNBA Finals contenders, the New York Liberty made a big splash in free agency to boost their chances of competing for another championship this year.

The Liberty were one of the WNBA’s dominant powers heading into the 2025 season after consecutive trips to the Finals. Which also includes winning the championship in 2024. However, they saw their season end abruptly in the opening round of the playoffs in September.

Their disappointing year after clinching the franchise’s first championship was mostly due to injuries. Betnijah Laney-Hamilton missed the entire season after knee surgery, and top star Breanna Stewart battled injuries all year, including the playoffs. However, most of their core is expected to return in 2026.

Still, you can never have enough talent, and the New York Liberty added another star on Saturday with Stewart and Sabrina Ionescu.

New York Liberty sign 3-time All-Star Sato Sabally

ESPN basketball insider Shams Charania was first to report that All-Star Sato Sabally has agreed to sign a multiyear deal to join the New York Liberty.

Sabally was the second overall pick in the 2020 WNBA draft by the Dallas Wings. The Oregon standout became a core member of the Wings’ roster and took a big step forward in 2023 when he earned All-Star honors for the second time and finished fifth in MVP voting after posting 18.6 points, 8.1 rebounds and 4.4 assists.

Sabally was part of the massive three-team trade that sent him to the Phoenix Mercury last season. He posted another All-Star season and played a major role in leading the team to the 2025 NBA Finals. Unfortunately, they were defeated in four games by the league’s current dynasty, the Las Vegas Aces.

Tottenham compete with Aston Villa for lucrative free agent – both clubs agree to equal wages

Aston Villa Marcos is working on a deal to sign Senesi on a free transfer but now faces competition Tottenham Hotspur.

The defender’s Bournemouth contract expires in the summer, with the player not renewing his deal. He has impressed in the Premier League this season, playing 30 times.

sports witness Having recently covered how Barcelona are pursuing the target, the Argentine is likely awaiting a formal approach from the Catalan side.

Juventus have already done so, with the defender potentially appealing for a move to Italy.

There are now significant signings from a host of players including Aston Villa and Tottenham.

English clubs are ready to offer salary

tuttosport Today’s report Juve have been tracking Senesi for weeks. They have been in contact with his representatives, as well as showing interest in Leon Goretzka.

Senesi is believed to have informed Bournemouth of his decision to leave. He is now 28 years old and wants the opportunity to play for a top club and potentially earn a higher salary.

The Bianconeri have offered €3 million per season on a four-year deal but that is difficult for Senesi to accept. The main reason for this is that Aston Villa and Tottenham are also keen and are willing to offer €4m per season.

The newspaper believes it will be difficult for the Old Lady to compete, with Borussia Dortmund also offering a high salary.

Money is the only thing that will come down to it, especially since Juve is not guaranteed Champions League football.

Our opinion: Aston Villa could have the upper hand

For largely the same reasons as Juve, Tottenham may not have an advantage in this race. They will not play in Europe next season, with Aston Villa still in the race to qualify for the Champions League.

Villains boast a more stable project under Unai Emery and this could define Senesi’s career.

If Micky Van de Ven leaves Tottenham, Senesi could get more regular football in London. But Spurs have been plagued by instability in recent years.

Argentina would probably want to stay away from this, making Villa Park a more viable destination.

Aston Villa and West Ham have been chasing the free agent ‘for months’ – Villa in good position to complete transfer

oscar mingueza

Aston Villa And west ham united Celta Vigo are in the transfer picture to sign Oscar Mingueza.

The right-back joined the La Liga team from Barcelona in 2022 and has been a regular since then.

His contract situation has already attracted the attention of Aston Villa, West Ham and several other clubs.

He has less than three months left on his contract and the Spanish club have offered an extension.

Last week, Sports Witness Covered claims from Spain Celta Vigo have given up on keeping the 27-year-old.

This is because he changed agents and is now managed by British agency Unique Sports Group. There have been no discussions with their new representatives on contract renewal.

Transfer boost for Aston Villa and West Ham

Sports stadium Cover the latest information on Oscar Mingueza’s future and name Unai Emery’s side and the Hammers.

Celta Vigo has already made renovation proposals worth a total of €4m per year.

Both he and his family are comfortable with their life in Vigo and the club hope this will convince them to extend their stay.

Their sporting director, Marco Garces, told DAZN that the former Barça man has to make a final decision on his future.

La Liga teams will not be able to match what other Premier League clubs have to offer.

“The situation is in his hands. All he knows is that he has an offer from us, and we hope he will take a decision. He has not responded yet.” He said.

Estadio then gives the latest on his suitors and immediately mentions Aston Villa and West Ham United. The Premier League duo, along with Marseille, have been knocking on their door for ‘months’.

Juventus, who failed to sign him in the winter market, are still interested. As well as Serie A teams, Como and Newcastle United are also in the mix.

The Estadio are now insisting Mingueza’s future lies in England, where their new representatives have a firm grip.

Our opinion: Aston Villa may have the edge over West Ham

The Villans are now fourth in the table and five points ahead of fifth-placed Liverpool. On the other hand, Nuno Espirito Santo’s side are in 18th place, one point behind 17th-placed Tottenham Hotspur.

Aston Villa are favorites to qualify for the Champions League while the London club is struggling to avoid relegation. This, along with the presence of Unai Emery, should give the former an edge over West Ham United.

transfer market Oscar Mingueza, now valued at €18 million, can also operate as a left-back.

Aston Villa submit official offer for free signing – solid transfer action to beat Bournemouth

Aston Villa

Aston Villa and AFC Bournemouth are among the clubs pursuing the transfer of AS Monaco goalkeeper Yannis Benchouch.

The 19-year-old joined Monaco’s academy on a free transfer in July 2021 after a stint with Trelissac FC Jugend.

He was initially part of the Monaco U17 side and, a year later, joined their U19 team. Since 2023, the stopper has been representing Monaco U21, but is yet to make his first-team debut.

Despite this, he has attracted the attention of Aston Villa, Bournemouth and other clubs.

Two months ago, Sports Witness broadcast news That Andoni Ierola’s side failed to sign him in the winter market. The Cherries are not giving up and face a battle with the Villans.

Last year, Benchouch performed brilliantly for Morocco at the U20 AFCON as they lost to South Africa in the final in May. He impressed again at the U20 World Cup, a tournament which they won by defeating Argentina in the final.

The stopper’s development saw him make his debut for Morocco U23s in the last international break.

Aston Villa and Bournemouth keen

Africa Foot Now there is a report giving the latest from Unai Emery on the transfer interest of AFC Bournemouth and other clubs in Yannis Benchouche.

The AS Monaco youngster faces a ‘fierce fight’ as his contract expires in June and he has refused to sign an extension.

After showing interest, Aston Villa made concrete transfer action to bring him to Villa Park in the summer.

The Villains have submitted an official offer that includes a five-year contract worth €850k per year.

Emery’s side are also offering a substantial sell-on percentage to the Ligue 1 side. This is a ‘goodwill gesture’ to prevent any possible legal dispute over the training fees and to conclude the deal ‘amicably’.

This was probably done to get ahead of competition from Bournemouth, Al-Gharafa SC and other clubs.

The Cherries could return with a new offer after a failed attempt in January while the Qatari side try to lure Morocco. Modena, Inter Milan, Monza and unnamed clubs from Spain, Belgium, France and the Netherlands are also interested.

Our opinion: Aston Villa could have the transfer edge

It seems that Yannis Benchouche is well aware that several clubs are chasing him, including Aston Villa and AFC Bournemouth.

At the moment, he is in no rush and wants to make a final decision at the end of the season after evaluating all the options. The stopper wants to prioritize the sporting aspect.

This means Aston Villa will have to show him a path to the first team over the next few years, possibly with cup appearances along the way. Given that Villa is likely to change the goalkeeper position, they could sell a project.

Manchester United ‘have already made moves for free agents’ – facing Arsenal battle

leon goretzka

Manchester United have joined Arsenal and other clubs in the pursuit of Bayern Munich’s Leon Goretzka.

The 31-year-old’s contract expires in June and he has confirmed his decision to leave Bayern Munich after this season.

His contract status and experience make him an attractive option for Manchester United, Arsenal and other clubs in the market.

Despite his decision to leave, Vincent Kompany continues to trust the midfielder, who has made 37 appearances so far this season.

His Bundesliga statistics per game are as follows:

  • Intercept: 0.9
  • Tackle: 0.8
  • Possession won (final third): 0.3
  • Recovered balls: 3.1
  • Clearance: 1.3
  • Duel won: 2.6

Last month, Sports Witness broadcast news That the Gunners and their north London rivals, Tottenham Hotspur, are pursuing him.

Manchester United will face Arsenal

gazzetta dello sport Now cover the latest on Manchester United, Arsenal and Serie A’s interest in Leon Goretzka.

Italian clubs have a greater tendency to focus on free agents and this is also the case with the Bayern Munich star.

AC Milan, Juventus and Inter Milan are all keen on the Germany international. Last week, Sports Witness Covered claims from Italy That he would favor going to the Emirates.

Despite this and despite Inter Milan negotiating with his agent, Milan sporting director Igli Tare refused to give up.

Gazzetta have now taken notice of him and reported Manchester United have entered the pursuit of the player.

Both the Red Devils and Arsenal have ‘already made moves for the free agent’ and will battle for his signature in the summer. Juve, Milan and Inter Milan are also keen.

Goretzka earns €9m per year and requires at least €7m annually from his next club. All Italian clubs are willing to offer him a three-year deal, but wage demands have put him out of reach.

This would benefit Manchester United and Arsenal, who could fight for his signature after this season.

Manchester United should prioritize midfield signings

Michael Carrick has Casemiro, Coby Manu, Manuel Ugarte and Mason Mount as midfielders. The manager has shifted Bruno Fernandes into his preferred role as an attacking midfielder.

Casemiro has announced his decision to leave Old Trafford after this season. Ugarte, who has struggled for regular minutes, could also be gone. Even if he has to stay, Manchester United will need to bring in a new midfielder in the summer.

Leon Goretzka could replace Casemiro, while the Red Devils could make a big investment in another young midfielder.

What we learned about the New York Giants in free agency

The New York Giants have been one of the most active teams in free agency as they have made significant roster additions. On paper, they are much better than the team that finished 4-13 in 2025.

Head coach John Harbaugh, general manager Joe Schoen and senior vice president of football operations Don Aponte deserve credit for addressing several key needs and streamlining the salary cap. The franchise is moving in a different direction under this new arrangement, and we’re starting to see what the team will look like in 2026.

Here are five things we’ve learned so far about the Giants during free agency.

RELATED: 5 NFL trades we’d love to see in March

Creating an ongoing game to discourage opponents

NFL: New York Giants at Denver Broncos
Isaiah J. Downing-Imagen Images

New York had the fifth-best rushing game in the league last year, averaging 129.1 yards per game. Tyrone Tracy Jr. and Cam Scatebo both averaged more than four yards per carry, and now they will have fullback Patrick Rickard paving the running lanes.

The addition of the 6-foot-3, 300-pound Rickard will give the ground game an intimidating presence that will wear down defenses. The Giants’ running game will be even more potent in 2026, and Tracy and Skattebo should have the most productive seasons of their young careers.

special teams emphasis

NFL: Baltimore Ravens at Pittsburgh Steelers
charles leclair-imagen images

Given his special teams background and knowing how New York’s special teams have struggled over the past few seasons, the 63-year-old head coach placed an emphasis on upgrading this weakness.

They accomplished this by acquiring their punter from the Baltimore Ravens in Jordan Stout, who was a first-team All-Pro in 2025. They then signed former Miami Dolphins kicker Jason Myers to a one-year contract. They re-signed Giants special teams ace Art Green and kick returner Gunner Olszewski, and added former Miami Dolphins special teams ace Elijah Campbell.

In 2025, Big Blue lost seven one-possession games, and special teams played a role in some of those losses. With an improved kicking game, the team should turn more one-score games into wins rather than losses in 2026.

Sending a message to veterans’ veterans

NFL: Seattle Seahawks at Atlanta Falcons
Dell Janine-Imagen Images

Before the start of free agency, there were concerns about the New York Giants’ wide receiver corps outside of Malik Nabors. Those concerns have been alleviated with the additions of Darnell Mooney and Calvin Austin, but the front office and coaching staff have clearly sent a message to Darius Slayton and Jalin Hyatt with these two signings.

Slayton has been plagued with drops, and Hyatt has been a huge disappointment in his three years with the Giants, catching only 36 passes for 470 yards with zero touchdowns. Mooney’s arrival could significantly reduce Slayton’s role and put Hyatt’s roster spot in serious jeopardy.

Giants’ first-round selection shrouded in mystery

NFL: Combine
kirby lee-image images

There is a lot of curiosity about what the Giants will do with the fifth pick in the 2026 NFL Draft. There is speculation that they will take Notre Dame running back Jeremiah Love, despite the fact that they are strong at the running back position.

Others think the decision of who they will draft will depend on three Ohio State players: Sonny Styles, Caleb Downs, or Carnell Tate. Many mock drafts have these three taken in the first 10 picks, and all three could make an immediate impact as rookies.

Although New York has addressed all of the prospects’ respective positions this offseason, none of the signings will prevent them from using their first pick in the draft at one of these positions. At this point, it would be surprising if New York didn’t add Love or one of the former Buckeye players. But so far, none of them have emerged as clear favorites to go fifth overall.

John Harbaugh’s reputation continues as a legend

Syndication: The Record
Julian Leche via Guadalupe/NorthJersey.com/USA TODAY Network Images

When the Ravens parted ways with John Harbaugh after 18 seasons, there were reports that Harbaugh’s voice in the locker room was becoming stale. Those rumors appear to be false as many of his players from Baltimore have followed him to New York.

Isaiah Likely, Patrick Rickard, Jordan Stout and Ar’Darius Washington all followed their coach from Baltimore to New York because they believed in him. Others feel the same way, as New York is currently projected for a total of seven and a half wins, which is more than a season ago.

With a Super Bowl-winning head coach now in charge and the upgrades he has made throughout the roster, it is clear that the Giants are a franchise on the rise.

Miami Dolphins earn high praise for rewarding free agency signing

It’s a whole new environment in South Beach following the departure of Miami Dolphins general manager Chris Grier and head coach Mike McDaniel. The new system, led by GM John-Eric Sullivan and head coach Jeff Hafley, has wasted no time in making its mark on this franchise.

It all started with trimming Tua Tagovailoa from the roster, even though it meant a record-setting $99 million dead cap charge for the 2026 NFL league year. Subsequent moves have been equally notable, with the Dolphins releasing a pair of Pro Bowl players in Tyreek Hill and Bradley Chubb. They’ve also traded a pair of Pro Bowlers, sending Minkah Fitzpatrick to the Jets for a lottery scratch-off, and getting top value for Jaylen Waddle.

Now, it’s time to rebuild this thing from the ground up. One of the most challenging aspects after moving on from a franchise QB in Tagovailoa was how the Dolphins would find their next solution under center. It didn’t take much time.

The Dolphins signed one of the top free agent quarterbacks available, signing Malik Willis to a three-year, $67.5 million contract with $45 million guaranteed. This decision is sure to be criticized by football critics across the industry. Still, some people liked Miami’s move.

Count out ESPN’s Seth Walder as an NFL analyst who thinks the Dolphins made one of the best signings in free agency this offseason. For a Dolphins team that had no clear path forward at QB, Walder believes Miami got exactly what they needed by taking a chance on the upside that Willis represents.

“It’s very hard to find a franchise quarterback in free agency, and I’m not saying Willis is that way, or even likely to be. And signing Willis doesn’t even cost that much. At $22.5 million per year, the contract is a bargain considering what Willis could become. But even more than most deals, the most important part of this contract is the $45 million that is fully guaranteed upon signing. Because if Willis fails That’s all Miami will have to pay. And if he’s successful, he’ll need to sign a new contract immediately.”

ESPN’s Seth Walder on Malik Willis

Certainly, there are obvious potential drawbacks with a quarterback who has made just six starts since arriving as a third-round pick in the 2022 NFL Draft. Willis is far from a perfect product. Yet the Dolphins, who have two key decision-makers at the helm who were with Willis in Green Bay, are confident in the 26-year-old dual-threat QB’s development into a star in South Beach.

Liverpool initiate contact for signing – €20-30m free for Reds

Liverpool are facing a challenge from Barcelona in their bid to bring Inter Milan’s Alessandro Bastoni to the Premier League in the summer.

The Serie A team acquired the centre-back from Atalanta in 2017 and immediately sent him back on loan. A year later, he joined Parma on a season-long loan deal.

Bastoni quickly settled at San Siro and has been a regular since the 2019/20 season. Many clubs, including Liverpool, have been keeping an eye on him due to his rise in recent years.

The Italy international has started 24 league matches this season and kept eight clean sheets for Inter Milan during his time on the field. Below are his statistics per game from Serie A.

  • Intercept: 0.9
  • Tackle: 1.8
  • Ground duels won: 2.8
  • Aerial duel won: 2/0
  • Ball Recovery: 3.8
  • Dribbled past: 0.3
  • Errors in reaching target: 0

Given his performances, Liverpool are considering signing him in the summer. Earlier this season, Sport Witness broadcast news Fabio Paratici showed strong interest in taking him to Tottenham Hotspur.

Paratici left Spurs for Fiorentina in February, and it is unclear whether Spurs are still interested. It will be a difficult task for them to convince the player.

Deal difficult for Liverpool

Inter Milan are ‘seriously considering’ parting ways with the 26-year-old after this season. is according to gazzetta dello sportWho said that his sale could help finance the Nerazzurri’s summer market.

Alessandro Bastoni’s recent valuation has increased the price to €70-80m. Gazzetta believes the Italian club could now accept a €50m offer in the summer. His agent has registered Barcelona’s interest, while the newspaper has made no mention of Liverpool or any other club.

Wednesday edition of game Relays it and provides its own updates on the matter. The Reds get a mention as they are showing interest in the player.

In fact, the Catalan newspaper reports that the Anfield club have made inquiries. It is unclear whether the initial contact was with his agent Inter Milan or both.

Either way, Liverpool could take advantage of the need to sell their squad to add him for €50m.

However, it won’t be easy as Sport say Bastoni only wants a move to Camp Nou. This puts Barcelona in a comfortable position as long as they are willing to meet the fee demanded.

It’s worth noting that Sport is a Catalan newspaper and is biased towards Barcelona, so they would say so.

Why the Reds should not accept defeat

Alessandro Bastoni

The four centre-backs at Anfield are Virgil van Dijk, Ibrahima Konate, Joe Gomez and Giovani Leoni in the Arne slot.

Konate’s contract expires in June while Gomez and 34-year-old Van Dijk both have contracts until 2027. Leone has been on the sidelines since suffering a serious injury in September.

If Konate refuses to sign an extension, Liverpool are in need of an experienced defender. Given his experience at both Inter Milan and Italy, Bastoni could be the ideal candidate.

transfer market Bastoni, who has a contract until 2028, is valued at €80 million, and the Serie A side’s €50 million asking price makes him available cheaply. Therefore, Liverpool need to find a way to convince the player to move on from Barcelona.

5 Tyreek Hill landing spots in NFL free agency, including a Chiefs reunion

Tyreek Hill is looking for a new team in 2026. And when it’s all said and done, “Cheetah” is probably punching its ticket to Canton. But that’s down the road; Right now, he’s one of the biggest names on the free agent market.

Sure, he’s coming off a rookie year dealing with injuries and his off-field noise is on the rise, but don’t let it all go to waste, Hill can still fly. He was poised for another 1,100+ yard season with the Miami Dolphins before suffering a season-ending injury last year.

So the question now is, who is trying to sign the eight-time Pro Bowler? Let’s break down five potential landing spots for Tyreek Hill, including a spicy reunion with the Kansas City Chiefs.

new England Patriots

new England Patriots
Mark J. rebilas-imagen images

Stefon Diggs worked his way up as the New England Patriots’ WR1, but New England cut him loose to clear the cap and reload. And with more than $42 million to play for, they have the ammo to make a real effort toward another Super Bowl run. They brought in Romeo Dobbs, but let’s be honest – he’s a solid WR2/WR3 type of guy, not a guy who is taking over games week in and week out.

This is where Tyreek Hill flips the script. Is he a lock-in at WR1 at this level? Probably not. But in terms of ceiling? No one comes close in that room. Hill brings game-breaking speed, playoff pedigree and the kind of juice that instantly elevates an entire offense. For a team looking to quickly retool, it’s worth taking a swing.

kansas city chiefs

kansas city chiefs
Denny Medley-Images Images

At first glance, the Kansas City Chiefs’ WR room doesn’t look like a serious issue, but digging a little deeper reveals it’s not exactly loaded. The Chiefs are up against the cap and have just over $10 million on hand before any restructuring or cuts. But if there’s one place that really knows how to unlock extreme Cheetah — and keep chaos to a minimum — it’s Kansas City.

A reunion would make an impact on multiple levels: instant WR1 upgrade, proven chemistry, and a legitimate offensive reset for a team that is searching for that true deep threat again. If the Chiefs want to take another swing at a familiar superstar who is still in his prime window, this move seems perfect.

Baltimore Ravens

nfl
Jeff Hanisch-Imagen Images

Last season was a tough one for the Baltimore Ravens’ WR room. Outside of Ze Flower, there wasn’t much juice. Sure, Lamar Jackson missing time played a role, but even when he was there, the lack of perimeter firepower was glaring. That’s not going to cut it for a contender.

Now, Baltimore has a track record of throwing tires on veteran receivers—DeAndre Hopkins, Odell Beckham Jr., DeSean Jackson and Dez Bryant. But here’s the difference: Tyreek Hill, even though he’s having a shortened year due to injury, still seems to have more gas left in his tank than he did when he signed. If the Ravens want to add legitimate explosiveness without breaking the bank, this sounds like a classic low-risk, high-reward swing.

tennessee titans

tennessee titans
Stephen Lew-Imagen Images

Tyreek Hill, now 32, is still one of the league’s premier cap lifters, but the big question is the knee. If he has fully recovered from last year’s early-season injury, this is a move that could completely unlock the Tennessee Titans’ vertical game overnight.

Speed, explosiveness, game breaking ability? It is still there. The key is to structure a smart, team-friendly deal full of incentives. For Titans, it’s really about identity. Do they keep building young and playing the roster at a slower pace, or do they land a proven vet who could turn the game right now? If they’re serious about turning things around in the AFC South, betting on Hill’s turnaround could be the spark they need.

los angeles chargers

travis kelsey
Denny Medley-Images Images

The Los Angeles Chargers offense lacks a true field-tilter. Drop Tyreek Hill in that unit, and the problem will be solved overnight. The defense will have no choice but to sit in the two high circles, and that’s music to Justin Herbert’s ears. This opens up the entire game, allows the offense to breathe, and fully highlights the talent of Herbert’s arm. Hill is built for motion-heavy looks, quick hitters and YAC-driven concepts — and guess what? He’s already baked into the Chargers system. It’s just like plug-and-play.

Cincinnati Bengals ‘waiting on’ Pro Bowler in free agency

After missing the postseason in 2025, the Cincinnati Bengals are doing everything they can to make sure they don’t take another step back in 2026. After losing top pass-rusher Trey Hendrickson in free agency, the Bengals know it won’t be easy. The arrival of Boye Mafe with a $60 million contract will certainly help. But the work of Bengal is not completed.

Recently, the Bengals signed veteran quarterback Josh Johnson to a one-year contract. He joins Joe Burrow and Sean Clifford as the only QBs on Cincinnati’s roster. But Bengals general manager Duke Tobin can’t be included in this position.

according to athleticBengals insider Paul Dehner Jr. says the team is “waiting” for Joe Flacco in free agency.

“When the Bengals signed with 14-team NFL veteran Josh Johnson (for the third time) on Saturday, it sent a clear message about their approach to supporting Burrow: They plan to wait for Joe Flacco. Flacco said he wants to find a job where he can compete for starts. He also said that if he can’t do that, he would be interested in returning to Cincinnati, where he spent his historic “Posted some of the best individual games of my career.”

The Athletic’s Paul Dehner Jr. on Joe Flacco

If the Bengals sign Flacco after already adding Johnson, they will have the oldest group of quarterbacks in the NFL. Flacco is 41, and Johnson isn’t far behind at age 39. Burrows is 29 years old.

Although injuries are always a factor throughout the season, the Bengals are prioritizing experience when it comes to the QB room. Last year’s backup, Jake Browning, has already signed a new deal with the Buccaneers, so no matter what happens, the Bengals’ depth chart at QB will look a little different next year.

Dallas Cowboys lose out on two key free agent signings

The Dallas Cowboys knew they had to make a change after finishing with just a 7-9-1 record and missing the postseason in 2025. After giving up more points than any other team last season, one area they had to fix was scoring defense. The good news is that Dallas has made several upgrades so far.

The Cowboys have added defensive lineman Otito Ogbonia, outside linebacker Rashaan Gary, safety Jalen Thompson, running back PJ Lock and cornerback Kobe Durant. Nevertheless, they also traded Osa Odighizuwa to the 49ers. Overall, the Cowboys feel like they have improved on defense overall, but that doesn’t mean they have accomplished all of their top goals.

according to athleticAlong with John Makota, the Cowboys also expressed interest in signing middle linebackers Nakobe Dean and Quay Walker. Somehow, both of them ended up signing with the Las Vegas Raiders.

Meanwhile, the Cowboys’ need at middle linebacker has not yet been addressed elsewhere. Machota believes this could be an area that gets resolved early in the 2026 NFL Draft, where the Cowboys have two first-round picks.

“DeMarvion Overshon, Shemar James and Justin Barron are currently at the position. There is a need for another starter and another reserve player with starter upside. The Cowboys had interest in Nakobe Dean and Quay Walker; however, both signed with the Las Vegas Raiders. The goal this time of the year is to fill every position so that a team is not forced to draft any positions in the next month. At this point, the Cowboys have their two first-round picks. One of the round’s picks will have to be used but there is still time to make a move. A trade for a starting-caliber inside linebacker seems like a good bet.”

The Athletic’s John Machota on the Cowboys

While the Cowboys have the 12th and 20th overall picks in the first round, as Machota said, they could also turn to the trade market. With eight selections in the upcoming draft, the Cowboys have enough trade capital to execute a deal. They have already discussed a trade for a former Pro Bowl middle linebacker.

Landing spots for the top 5 NFL free agents on defense

Many of the top NFL free agents have been off the board this offseason, with the remaining starters either on the wrong side of 30 or still available due to team concerns. However, there are still plenty of options in NFL free agency for clubs looking for a rotational piece or a solid start to the upcoming season.

With that in mind, let’s take a look at our latest round of NFL free agency predictions focusing on the landing spots for the remaining top defensive players.

AJ Epenesa, edge rusher: Detroit Lions

NFL Free Agency Predictions, Top NFL Free Agents
Mark Konezny-Imagen Images

A former second-round pick in the 2020 NFL Draft, AJ Epenesa is now entering his 28-year-old season and has proven to be a quality rotational edge defender. He played 434 defensive snaps for the Buffalo Bills last season, recording 2.5 sacks with 9 quarterback hits. The strength he brings at 6-foot-6 could prove useful to the Detroit Lions, who are still in the market for pass-rushing help. Epenesa may see a higher percentage of snaps early in the season opposite Aiden Hutchinson, while an edge rusher selected on the second day of the 2026 NFL Draft is slowly brought along and eventually plays a higher percentage of snaps for Detroit when the time is right.

Cameron Jordan, edge rusher: Chicago Bears

NFL Free Agency Predictions, Top NFL Free Agents
Stephen Lew-Imagen Images

It would certainly seem strange to see Cameron Jordan not playing for the New Orleans Saints in 2026, but it seems certain to happen. Heading into his age-37 season, Jordan is certainly nowhere near the caliber of defensive disruptor he used to be, and his snaps need to be limited to maintain his effectiveness. However, it’s still worth keeping in mind that he recorded 10.5 sacks and 22 pressures last season. What matters most is a reunion with his longtime defensive coordinator Dennis Allen, who will know how to get the most out of him in a rotational role. Plus, it gives the Chicago Bears a little more pass-rushing depth on the defensive line and gives Jordan a chance to finish his career with a Super Bowl contender.

Bobby Wagner, linebacker: Buffalo Bills

NFL Free Agency Predictions, Top NFL Free Agents
Kirby Lee-Images Images

Linebacker Bobby Wagner, a 10-time Pro Bowl selection, is still just two seasons away from earning second-team All-Pro honors. He also had 8 tackles for loss and 79 solo tackles last season, although he has proven to be a liability in coverage. There may be an opportunity here for Buffalo Bills head coach Sean McDermott. Buffalo could take advantage of Wagner’s tendencies as a run defender, as he has proven to be one of the best off-ball linebackers in football against the run. Additionally, he could be an excellent mentor for any young linebackers added to the team this year.

NFL Free Agency Predictions, Top NFL Free Agents
Julian Leche via Guadalupe/NorthJersey.com/USA TODAY Network Images

The Kansas City Chiefs cornerback room is undergoing a massive overhaul this offseason. As much as we trust the front office and defensive coordinator Steve Spagnuolo at this position, depth and proven players don’t hurt. Rasoul Douglas really stood out with the Miami Dolphins last season, allowing only a 54.5 percent completion rate and 73.0 passer rating when targeted in coverage. With how thin Kansas City is at cornerback now, it could be beneficial to keep at least one viable starter as there is going to be a lot of inexperience in that room this fall.

Joey Bosa, edge rusher: San Francisco 49ers

NFL Free Agency Predictions, Top NFL Free Agents
Tina McIntyre-Yee/Democrat & Chronicle/via USA TODAY Network Images

It always felt like Nick Bosa would eventually be teammates with his brother, Joey Bosa, rather than when. Now the time seems absolutely right. The San Francisco 49ers need more pass-rushing depth next season with Nick Bosa and Mykel Williams recovering from season-ending injuries. Joey Bosa has his durability concerns, but he played in 15 games in Buffalo last season and had 16 QB hits with 5 sacks. Bringing him in would make the Knicks happy and would improve San Francisco’s pass-rushing depth; It’s a win-win.

5 Deebo Samuel landing spots in NFL free agency, including a 49ers reunion

NFL front offices have been at it all week as the new league year officially kicked off on Wednesday, awarding a staggering $5.83 billion in contracts, with nearly $2.3 billion agreed to in the first eight hours of negotiations. It’s safe to say the general manager came out swinging.

The market has cooled off a bit since the initial buzz, but many influential players are still sitting on the board waiting for their next snap. One of the biggest names still looking for a new home is Washington Commanders wide receiver Deebo Samuel Sr.

Samuel stepped in as Washington’s top target last season while Terry McLaurin battled injuries, making 72 catches for 727 yards and five touchdowns. He also gained 75 rushing yards and another score, although that rushing total marked a career low in seasons where he played at least eight games.

Nevertheless, Deebo is still one of the league’s most versatile offensive weapons – a true “wide back” who can line up anywhere and stress the defense in a variety of ways. So where might he land next? Here are the five teams that make the most sense for Samuel in free agency.

denver broncos

travis kelsey
Stephen Lew-Imagen Images

The Denver Broncos have been one of the quietest teams so far on the free agency wire. In fact, they are the only NFL team that did not sign any outside free agents during Week 1, which has certainly raised some eyebrows around the league. But maybe Sean Payton is waiting to get his shot.

For years, people around the NFL have tried to connect Deebo Samuel to Payton’s offense. Now, for the first time, that pairing is actually possible. Payton has long talked about wanting a weapon that can do it all, that can line up anywhere, move through formation and handle pressure on defenses on every single snap. Deebo’s name may also be mentioned in that description.

san francisco 49ers

san francisco 49ers
Mark J. rebilas-imagen images

Who says you can’t run it back? A reunion with the San Francisco 49ers suddenly doesn’t seem so crazy. San Francisco has some serious question marks in the wide receiver room heading into the 2026 season. Brandon Aiyuk’s time with the team appears to be over, Javon Jennings is testing free agency, and Ricky Pearsall still hasn’t been able to stay healthy.

On top of that, the offense could be without George Kittle, who is dealing with an Achilles injury that could sideline him for a large portion of the 2026 campaign. That leaves a lot of firepower for Kyle Shanahan’s offense. A return to the Gulf would make a lot of sense. Samuel already knows Shanahan’s system inside and out, and he has built a strong chemistry with Brock Purdy from their previous stints in San Francisco.

Baltimore Ravens

nfl
Jeff Hanisch-Imagen Images

The Baltimore Ravens could reload their pass-catching group this offseason. If that happens, Baltimore will need another dynamic weapon in the passing game – and Samuel fits the bill perfectly. Samuel would give the Ravens a versatile chess piece who can line up in the slot, outside, or even take snaps out of the backfield.

While Zay Flowers will still lead the receiving corps, Samuel could quickly take on a major role and become one of Lamar Jackson’s favorite playmakers. And honestly, Deebo feels just like a raven. His bruising, physical style – whether he’s breaking tackles as a receiver or lowering his shoulder on designed runs – fits perfectly into Baltimore’s smash-mouth identity.

new England Patriots

NFL: Atlanta Falcons at New England Patriots
eric kanha-imagen images

The New England Patriots are in need of a reliable wide receiver, making Samuel an obvious target if they want to add some firepower. Samuel, like Stefon Diggs, would slide well as a do-everything weapon in the Patriots’ offense, and would be a perfect fit for Drake Mays. Imagine the situation if New England took out Deebo Samuel and Romeo Doubs on the same field.

kansas city chiefs

kansas city chiefs
Denny Medley-Images Images

The Kansas City Chiefs have needs in the passing game. Sure, they still have Travis Kelce, but Patrick Mahomes could definitely use another dynamic weapon on the outside. This is where Samuel comes in. Kansas City has quietly emerged as an interesting landing spot for the veteran playwright. Samuel’s ability to line up in the slot or even take handoffs out of the backfield seems tailor-made for Andy Reid’s playbook. Reed likes versatile weapons he can move around formations, and Samuel will give the Chiefs a more gadget-style threat that can turn short touches into pieces.

Colts Will Regret Daniel Jones Contract, Raiders Building Right into 2026 NFL Free Agency

The NFL’s free agency frenzy is barely a week old and Yahoo Sports insider Caroline Fenton already has a team she believes is going to look really, really bad in about 24 months.

Fenton joined the Sportsknot Interview Podcast this week and he wasted no time getting involved. The Raiders, the Colts, DJ Moore in Buffalo – he had it all under his belt. Some of them may surprise you.

The Raiders Aggression, Max Crosby Trade Fiasco

Max Crosby of the Las Vegas Raiders
July 26, 2023; Las Vegas, Nevada, USA; Las Vegas Raiders defensive end Max Crosby (98) speaks during a press conference during training camp at the Intermountain Health Performance Center. Mandatory Credit: Candice Ward-USA TODAY Sports

Start with the Max Crosby mess. Everyone saw the Ravens back out of that trade when the market for Trey Hendrickson softened. Fenton noticed something most people didn’t notice: the specific words used by Las Vegas when it announced it was parting ways.

“They didn’t say Max Crosby failed a physical,” he said. “They said the Ravens backed out of the trade. I thought that was telling.”

His theory? Baltimore went into free agency assuming it would cost them Myles Garrett money for Hendrickson – in the neighborhood of $40 million per year. too rich. So he turned to the Crosby trade. Then Hendrickson just…sat there. And the price fell. Suddenly Eric DeCosta is doing the math in his head and realizing he can get a comparable pass rusher and retain both first-round picks.

“This is shady business,” Fenton said. “But let’s not act like this is the first questionable business that’s been done in the National Football League.”

She thinks both teams had a good finish. Specifically for the Raiders, Crosby staying puts a proven veteran next to a quarterback who has never taken an NFL snap. That matters. So is the signing of Tyler Linderbaum, which he said is exactly what a rebuilding team with a young QB should do.

“Bad franchises fail young quarterbacks far more than bad organizations do,” Fenton said.

What are the Indianapolis Colts doing?

Daniel Jones Colts Sportsknot Interview
Travis Register-Imagen Images

This brings us to Indianapolis, which apparently didn’t get that memo.

The Colts re-signed Alec Pierce to the largest free-agent receiver contract in NFL history. They guaranteed Daniel Jones $50 million. Fenton is not affected by any moves as part of the NFL free agency frenzy.

He said, “Just because you pay a guy like he’s elite, doesn’t make him elite.” Specifically on Jones, he reiterated that an Achilles injury after a good half-season does not rewrite four years of bad football in New York. “This is not a $50 million changed perspective.”

Chris Ballard’s seat should be warm, he said. Under his watch, the AFC South has been won multiple times by the Texans, Titans and Jaguars. Still waiting for Indy.

In other NFL free agency moves, Fenton liked the signing of DJ Moore and said it would have a big impact on Buffalo and Trent McDuffie in LA, which angered him. She went to Moore without hesitation, and the reason was less about Moore himself and more about the Bills’ offensive coordinator, Joe Brady.

“I like what Joe Brady does with receivers,” Fenton said. He covered his 2019 LSU offense and even talked to Justin Jefferson about it at the Super Bowl, Fenton said. The short version: Brady unlocks the passing game in ways that don’t show up on the depth chart.

Moore is not elite. Fenton said this clearly. But he’s an upgrade, he fits the scheme, and he’s paired with Josh Allen, who he calls “Superman,” the extent of that offense becomes even greater.

The second-round pick had to give up a lot. He accepted this. Then, they moved forward immediately. You are in a window. spend.

Report reveals surprising amount spent by NFL teams during first week of 2026 free agency

We’re just into the first week of free agency and the league has already spent $1 billion. There’s never been a better time to hit the open market in the NFL. The second week of March marks the start of a new league year, and with it comes the annual free-agency frenzy – when front offices wheel and deal, and players cash in.

For years, the league believed that extravagance in free agency rarely resulted in Super Bowl contention. But this offseason? That script has been flipped. With multiple star players hitting the market and massive deals being struck in a matter of days, the spending spree has been unlike anything the NFL typically sees.

Now, an analyst has revealed just how staggering the league’s free-agency spending has been this early in the offseason.

NFL free agency begins a billion-dollar spending spree

minnesota vikings
Jeffrey Baker-Imagen Images

According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, money is flying through the league at a historic pace. Since Monday, NFL teams have paid out a record $5.83 billion in total player compensation, including $2.59 billion guaranteed at signing.

That’s a big jump from last year’s opening week numbers, when teams spent a combined $4.88 billion with $2.19 billion guaranteed during the same period.

A big reason for the spending spree? The league’s ever-expanding salary cap, which increased by $22 million this year, goes from $279.2 million in 2025 to $301.2 million in 2026. This growth is largely fueled by the NFL’s massive 11-year, $110 billion media rights deal with Amazon, CBS, ESPN, Fox and NBC.

The cap has been rising steadily in recent seasons, but the 2026 increase opens up a new level of pay for players across the league. So far this offseason, eight players have either reset the market at their position or received the richest free-agent deal ever for their role in terms of average annual value.

Among the deals that made headlines:

  • CB Trent McDuffie – Traded to and signed by the Chiefs rams For 4 years, $124 million
  • Of trey hendrickson – Signed by crows For 4 years, $112 million
  • LT Laremy Tunsil – Re-signed by commanders on one 2-year, $60.2 million extension
  • edge jalen phillips – Signed by panthers For 4 years, $120 million
  • WR Alec Pierce – Re-signed by colts For 4 years, $114 million
  • C Tyler Linderbaum – Signed by raiders For 3 years, $81 million
  • RB Kenneth Walker III – Signed by Chiefs For 3 years, $43.05 million
  • Te Isaiah possibly – Signed by veteran For 3 years, $40 million
  • P Jordan Stout – Signed by veteran For 3 years, $12.3 million

McDuffie, Tunsil, Linderbaum and Stout all became the highest-paid players at their respective positions, while Phillips, Pierce, Walker and Likely set new records for free-agent contracts at their positions.

And the spending started rapidly. According to NFL Research, between the opening of the legal tampering window and Monday night at 8 p.m. ET, teams had already given away contracts worth $2.3 billion.

For years, the league’s conventional wisdom has suggested that players are better off signing extensions with the teams that drafted them, as franchises were historically cautious about spending more in free agency. But with the salary cap continuing to skyrocket, being patient may be the better play now on the open market.

Just look at the Tennessee Titans, who led the league by giving away $293.2 million in free agency to draft No. 1 overall pick Cam Ward in 2025. The Las Vegas Raiders were not far behind, spending $281.57 million as they prepared to draft Indiana Heisman Trophy winner Fernando Mendoza with the top pick in April.

One phrase agents have been throwing around this offseason is “biggest average per year by a free agent.” It’s a clever way of marketing — adding “by a free agent” helps differentiate those deals from the bigger contracts players often get via extensions, giving new signings a little extra sparkle.

Projecting landing spots for the top remaining NFL free agents on offense

It’s been an eventful 2026 NFL offseason so far, and we’re still only a few weeks away from making some of the biggest moves. Many of the top NFL free agents are now off the board, but there are still some impactful starters and key contributors who could sign with clubs in the next few days.

With that in mind, let’s take a look at our NFL free agency predictions for the top offensive players heading into the weekend. We will make a defensive list on Saturday.

Kirk Cousins, quarterback: Las Vegas Raiders

nfl free agency predictions
Dell Janine-Imagen Images

One of the most common NFL comparisons for quarterback Fernando Mendoza, who will be selected by the Las Vegas Raiders with the first overall pick in the 2026 NFL Draft, is Kirk Cousins. While this may not sound as appealing, let’s remember that Cousins has a career 96.8 passer rating and is likely to reach 45,000 career passing yards with 300 passing touchdowns in 2026. That also fits the Las Vegas look. The Raiders want an experienced quarterback who can mentor Mendoza during his rookie season and serve as the starting quarterback temporarily. Cousins could start the first few games while Mendoza gets a better feel for Clint Kubiak’s playbook and adjusts to playing under center, and then take over in October.

Everything the Pittsburgh Steelers have said publicly, combined with reports about the front office’s thinking, points to one thing: Aaron Rodgers is coming back for the 2026 NFL season. Even the Michael Pittman Jr. trade, acquiring a receiver who excels at creating quick separation and getting open early, hints at a plan to help a future Hall of Famer at quarterback. We don’t think Rodgers will sign until around June, but we strongly believe he will be the Steelers’ starting quarterback in 2026.

Stefon Diggs, wide receiver: Baltimore Ravens

nfl free agency predictions
Mark J. rebilas-imagen images

The off-field concerns surrounding Stefon Diggs have a lot to do with how quiet his market is in NFL free agency. That said, he still put up 1,013 receiving yards on 85 receptions in his first full season last season after suffering an ACL tear. It will be a bit of a gamble for first-year head coach Jesse Minter, but the Baltimore Ravens have proven they are willing to take some non-medical risks. Diggs could be a complementary receiving threat to pair with Zay Flowers, giving Lamar Jackson a better receiving corps in his first year with new play-caller Declan Doyle.

Jaouan Jennings, wide receiver: Tennessee Titans

nfl free agency predictions 2026
Sergio Estrada-Imagen Images

In previous NFL free agency predictions, we have seen Juwan Jennings landing with the Seattle Seahawks or Washington Commanders. However, Seattle has re-signed Rashid Shahid and Commanders general manager Adam Peters is focusing more on Brandon Aiyuk after he was released. This makes the Tennessee Titans the best fit for Jennings. The 6-foot-3 wideout offers a skill set that’s very different from free-agent signing Wan’Dale Robinson, as he can be a red-zone weapon whose size also makes him an effective target on third downs. The move will be about providing quarterback Cam Ward with a variety of pass-catching options in Brian Daboll’s offense. Plus, if Tennessee drafts Jeremiah Love, Jennings is a willing blocker.

Rasheed Walker, offensive tackle: Cleveland Browns

nfl free agency predictions 2026
Mark J. rebilas-imagen images

The Cleveland Browns have addressed right tackle (Tytus Howard), center (Elgton Jenkins) and guard (Zion Johnson and Teven Jenkins) this offseason. That still leaves a glaring hole at left tackle. Luckily for Cleveland, there isn’t much left on the market for Rasheed Walker. He has been the best offensive tackle available since the beginning of NFL free agency, but his contract demands remain an issue. We think he’ll sign a one-year deal worth over $20 million to play left tackle for Cleveland. This fills a need for the Browns, giving them flexibility heading into the 2026 NFL Draft, while also allowing Walker to test the market again next season.

David Njoku, tight end: Philadelphia Eagles

nfl free agency predictions
Scott Galvin-Imagen Images

The Philadelphia Eagles gave themselves a little more time to decide on Dallas Goedert’s future with the club, but parting still appears to be the most likely outcome. What became clear last season was that this offense needs more help at the last minute, so it should come through both the NFL Draft and free agency. After spending nine years in Cleveland, Njoku likely wants to play for a Super Bowl contender with a quarterback he trusts to get him the football. With a defense focused on stopping Saquon Barkley, Devonta Smith and AJ Brown, as well as the athleticism of Jalen Hurts, Njoku could get plenty of open looks in Philadelphia.

NFL Insider reveals surprising update on Trey Hendrickson’s free agency

Trey Hendrickson is surprisingly still available in NFL free agency. Hendrickson, who previously played with the Cincinnati Bengals, was arguably the top EDGE rusher in free agency, but he has not signed during the second day of the legal tampering window. However, an NFL insider has revealed a surprising update that explains why he is still unsigned.

As CBS Sports’ Jonathan Jones reports, the price difference between what Hendrickson wants and what teams are willing to pay is about $10 million per year. This is a surprising development, as the market for 31-year-old EDGE is not what they expected. It appears Hendrickson is looking for more than $30 million per year.

For context, Odafe Owe agreed to a deal with the Washington Commanders that will pay him $25 million per year, while Boye Mafe’s new contract with the Bengals pays him $20 million per year. Most notably, Jaylen Phillips agreed to a deal with the Carolina Panthers worth $30 million per season.

Hendrickson was ranked as the top EDGE rusher free agent during the 2026 NFL offseason, so these numbers are likely serving as a baseline for his contract desires. However, the 2024 NFL Defensive Player of the Year runner-up underwent core muscle surgery during the 2025–26 NFL season at the age of 31.

Hendrickson only had four sacks in 2025; However, over the last two years he averaged 17.5 sacks per season. There are several teams that want to sign Hendrickson, but there must be a bridge in contract negotiations to get a deal done. Right now, the difference of about $10 million is too big.

There will be an NFL team that wants to sign a Defensive Player of the Year-caliber player, but Hendrickson may have to lower his asking price to get the deal done.

The 5 best targets for the New England Patriots after the first wave of free agency

The New England Patriots were active on the first day of 2026 NFL free agency. New England agreed to a deal with former Baltimore Ravens EDGE rusher Dre’Mont Jones in the first moments of free agency, followed by a deal with fullback Reggie Gilliam just hours later. Then, before midnight struck, the Patriots agreed to a three-year deal with left guard Alijah Vera-Tucker.

New England is entering the second day of free agency with still a number of needs. Below, we break down the five best players the Patriots are targeting after the first wave of free agency!

Romeo Dobbs, wide receiver

NFL: New England Patriots at Green Bay Packers
Appleton Post Crescent – Imagine Images

Romeo Dobbs is the best wide receiver available in free agency after day one. Dobbs would rank as New England’s current top wide receiver; However, it would be better if he finished as the WR2 in the offense. The former Green Bay Packer will suit up for the Patriots, and will likely be worth around $12 to $15 million on a multi-year deal.

Jaylin Hawkins, Security

NFL: New England Patriots at New York Jets
Vincent Carchietta-Imagen Images

Jaylin Hawkins improved with the Patriots during the 2025-26 NFL season, and he should be one of the top priorities remaining. Hawkins will fill a need at safety next to Craig Woodson, providing continuity for New England moving forward. The 28-year-old safety is projected to make approximately $6 to $8 million over two to three years.

Jauan Jennings, wide receiver

NFL: Tennessee Titans at San Francisco 49ers
kyle terada-imagen images

Jauan Jennings is a very interesting option for the Patriots. Jennings, who served as one of the top wide receivers for the San Francisco 49ers, can play inside and outside the slot. The 28-year-old wide receiver will start as the top target in New England. Jennings should get a similar deal to Dobbs, which could be around $12 to $15 million.

Leo Chenal, linebacker

NFL: Kansas City Chiefs at Arizona Cardinals
Mark J. rebilas-imagen images

Leo Chennel is a versatile linebacker who will fit really well in Mike Vrabel’s defense. Channell can play on the edge and inside, as well as rush the passer, defend the run and drop into coverage. The 25-year-old linebacker will be an excellent player that Vrabel likes on defense. Chenal should earn around $8 to $10 million on a multi-year deal.

Chig Okonkwo, tight end

Syndication: Tennessean
Andrew Nels/The Tennessean/USA TODAY Network via Imagen Images

Chig Okonkwo is the best tight end left on the board and that ties in with Vrabel. Okonkwo has great athleticism at the position of need for the Patriots, producing yards after the catch as a vertical threat in the passing game. The 26-year-old tight end is not a great blocker, but New England would sign him for his receiving ability. Okonkwo should receive $10 to $14 million on a multi-year deal.

Trial Lawyers College Graduate Serves Working Families in Predominantly Hispanic Suburb with No-Cost Legal Representation

Cicero’s working families shouldn’t have to choose between hiring a lawyer and paying rent. We work on contingency—no fees unless we win.”

— Scott DeSalvo

CICERO, IL, UNITED STATES, March 9, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ — Scott D. DeSalvo, recently named Best Personal Injury Lawyer in Oak Brook 2026 by BusinessRate, has announced expanded free case evaluation services and comprehensive Spanish-language legal representation for Cicero’s predominantly Hispanic working-class community following workplace injuries, car accidents, and other personal injury incidents.

DeSalvo’s practice provides Spanish-language consultations, document translation services, and interpreter coordination at no cost to clients in Cicero and surrounding communities where language barriers often prevent injury victims from understanding their legal rights or accessing quality representation.

“Cicero’s working families face unique challenges after accidents and injuries,” said DeSalvo. “Language barriers, immigration concerns, and insurance companies who assume injured workers won’t fight back create an environment where people get exploited. My practice exists to level that playing field and ensure everyone receives fair compensation regardless of language, immigration status, or economic circumstances.”

SERVING CICERO’S PREDOMINANTLY HISPANIC COMMUNITY

Cicero ranks as Illinois’ fifth-largest municipality with over 80,000 residents, approximately 80% of whom identify as Hispanic or Latino according to U.S. Census data. The working-class suburb bordering Chicago’s western edge has maintained strong Hispanic cultural identity while facing ongoing challenges including limited access to Spanish-language professional services.

Personal injury legal services prove particularly scarce in Cicero despite the community’s significant need. The suburb’s industrial corridors, busy commercial strips along Cermak Road and Roosevelt Road, and heavily trafficked intersections generate substantial motor vehicle collision and workplace injury volumes.

DeSalvo’s practice addresses this service gap by providing genuinely bilingual legal representation rather than superficial translation services many firms offer.

“Many personal injury lawyers advertise ‘hablamos español’ but rely on receptionists or paralegals to communicate with Spanish-speaking clients,” DeSalvo explained. “We provide Spanish-language consultations, translate all important documents, coordinate with Spanish-speaking medical providers, and ensure clients understand every aspect of their cases in their preferred language.”

The comprehensive Spanish-language services extend throughout every phase of injury claim representation including initial free consultations conducted entirely in Spanish, medical record review and explanation in Spanish, insurance company communications translated and explained, settlement negotiations with interpreter support when needed, and court proceedings with qualified Spanish interpreters.

IMMIGRATION STATUS DOES NOT AFFECT LEGAL RIGHTS IN ILLINOIS INJURY CASES

DeSalvo emphasizes that immigration status does not impact personal injury legal rights in Illinois, a critical message for Cicero’s substantial immigrant population who often fear legal system involvement due to documentation concerns.

“Illinois law is clear: Immigration status has no bearing on your right to compensation after a car accident, workplace injury, or any other personal injury incident,” DeSalvo explained. “If someone hits your car and injures you, you have the same legal rights as any other Illinois resident regardless of documentation status.”

This protection extends to all personal injury claim types including car accidents and truck collisions, workplace injuries covered by Illinois Workers’ Compensation law, slip and fall incidents on dangerous property, pedestrian accidents, and medical malpractice claims.

Insurance companies and employers sometimes exploit immigrant injury victims’ documentation fears by suggesting immigration authorities will become involved if claims are pursued. This constitutes unlawful intimidation under Illinois law.

“I’ve seen employers and insurance companies try to scare injured immigrants by threatening to ‘call immigration’ if they file injury claims,” DeSalvo noted. “That’s illegal intimidation. Your immigration status is private information that has no relevance to your injury claim. We protect clients from these scare tactics.”

The practice maintains strict client confidentiality protocols ensuring immigration status information never becomes part of injury claim files or court records unless clients specifically authorize disclosure for strategic purposes.

WORKPLACE INJURIES IN CICERO’S INDUSTRIAL AND WAREHOUSE SECTORS

Cicero’s economy centers heavily on industrial manufacturing, warehousing, and distribution operations creating elevated workplace injury risks for the community’s predominantly blue-collar workforce.

Major employers including manufacturing facilities along railroad corridors, warehouse and distribution centers serving Chicago’s logistics network, and food processing and packaging operations generate substantial workers’ compensation claim volumes when employees suffer on-the-job injuries.

Illinois Workers’ Compensation law provides injured workers with medical expense coverage, wage replacement benefits, permanent disability compensation, and vocational rehabilitation regardless of fault. Unlike personal injury lawsuits requiring proof of employer negligence, workers’ compensation operates as a no-fault system guaranteeing benefits to injured employees.

“Many Cicero workers don’t realize they have automatic rights to medical care and wage replacement after workplace injuries,” DeSalvo explained. “Employers sometimes discourage workers from filing workers’ comp claims by suggesting claims will result in job loss or immigration problems. Both suggestions are illegal.”

Illinois law prohibits employer retaliation against workers who file workers’ compensation claims. Employers who terminate, demote, reduce hours, or otherwise punish employees for seeking workers’ comp benefits face substantial penalties under Illinois Whistleblower Act provisions.

Common workplace injuries in Cicero’s industrial sector include back and neck injuries from lifting, carrying, and repetitive motion, hand and finger injuries from machinery and equipment, slip and fall injuries on warehouse floors and loading docks, forklift and industrial vehicle accidents, chemical exposure and burns in manufacturing settings, and repetitive stress injuries from assembly line work.

DeSalvo’s practice handles all Illinois Workers’ Compensation claim types while also identifying cases where third-party liability claims may provide additional compensation beyond workers’ comp benefits.

CAR ACCIDENTS ON CICERO’S DANGEROUS ROADS AND INTERSECTIONS

Cicero’s street grid features numerous dangerous intersections and heavily congested commercial corridors where motor vehicle collisions occur with troubling frequency.

Cermak Road traversing Cicero’s northern section experiences heavy truck traffic, commercial vehicle congestion, and frequent rear-end collisions particularly near the Cermak Road intersection with Cicero Avenue. Roosevelt Road along Cicero’s southern border sees similar collision patterns with additional pedestrian accident risks near shopping districts.

Major intersections including Cicero Avenue and 16th Street, Cicero Avenue and Cermak Road, Laramie Avenue and Roosevelt Road, and 54th Avenue and Cermak Road consistently rank among Cook County’s highest-collision locations.

“Cicero drivers face challenges including aging infrastructure with potholes and poor road conditions, heavy truck traffic on residential streets, aggressive driving and speeding on commercial corridors, and inadequate lighting at many intersections,” DeSalvo noted. “These conditions contribute to preventable collisions that seriously injure working families who can’t afford to miss work or pay mounting medical bills.”

DeSalvo’s practice represents Cicero car accident victims in all collision types including rear-end crashes at congested intersections, side-impact collisions from unsafe lane changes, pedestrian accidents in shopping districts and residential areas, drunk driving crashes particularly on weekend evenings, and hit-and-run incidents requiring uninsured motorist claims.

The practice maintains relationships with Spanish-speaking medical providers, auto body shops, and car rental companies serving Cicero’s Hispanic community, facilitating coordination of medical treatment, vehicle repairs, and transportation arrangements while injury claims proceed.

FREE RESOURCES AVAILABLE IN ENGLISH AND SPANISH

Building on his recent comprehensive resource library release, DeSalvo makes educational materials and online tools available to Cicero injury victims in both English and Spanish.

The settlement calculator providing estimated case value ranges, good case calculator evaluating claim strength, and comprehensive guides addressing Illinois car accident and workers’ compensation law help injury victims understand their rights and potential compensation before consulting with attorneys.

“Knowledge is power, especially for communities where language barriers create information gaps,” DeSalvo explained. “Our free resources help Cicero families make informed decisions about their cases whether they ultimately hire us or any other attorney.”

The resources require no email signup, registration, or consultation commitment, reflecting DeSalvo’s philosophy that injury victims deserve access to accurate legal information regardless of whether they become clients.

CONTINGENCY FEE REPRESENTATION: NO UPFRONT COSTS

DeSalvo’s practice operates exclusively on contingency fees, charging no upfront costs and collecting attorney fees only when compensation is recovered for clients.

This fee structure proves particularly important for Cicero’s working-class families who cannot afford hourly attorney fees ranging from $200 to $500 per hour that traditional law firms charge.

“Working families shouldn’t have to choose between hiring a lawyer and paying rent,” DeSalvo explained. “Contingency fees mean we only get paid if we win. If we don’t recover compensation for you, you owe us nothing. This aligns our interests completely with our clients’ interests.”

The contingency fee structure covers all case-related expenses including court filing fees, expert witness costs, medical record fees, deposition expenses, and investigation costs. Clients pay nothing out of pocket throughout representation.

TRIAL LAWYERS COLLEGE TRAINING SERVING CICERO FAMILIES

DeSalvo’s Trial Lawyers College credentials prove particularly valuable when representing working-class injury victims against insurance companies deploying aggressive defense tactics.

Trial Lawyers College, founded by legendary attorney Gerry Spence, trains select attorneys in advanced litigation techniques including authentic storytelling that humanizes injured clients, jury psychology addressing bias and stereotypes, and cross-examination strategies exposing insurance company manipulation.

“Insurance companies assume juries won’t care about injured immigrants or working-class families,” DeSalvo explained. “Trial Lawyers College training teaches attorneys how to counter that assumption by helping juries see injured people as human beings with families, dreams, and dignity rather than case numbers or settlement calculations.”

DeSalvo also completed Keenan Ball Trial Institute, providing complementary trial advocacy training that strengthens case preparation, witness examination, and courtroom presentation capabilities.

The dual elite trial training credentials position DeSalvo among fewer than one percent of Illinois personal injury attorneys, providing Cicero clients with representation quality typically accessible only to affluent corporate clients.

COMPREHENSIVE COVERAGE THROUGHOUT COOK COUNTY’S WESTERN SUBURBS

While focusing services on Cicero’s Hispanic community, DeSalvo’s practice serves injury victims throughout Cook County’s western suburbs including Berwyn, Stickney, Forest View, Lyons, and Riverside communities sharing similar demographics and industrial employment patterns with Cicero.

The practice maintains offices in both Oak Brook and Chicago, providing convenient access for suburban clients preferring local representation while accommodating Chicago residents injured in suburban accidents or workplace incidents.

Practice areas include car accidents and truck collisions, motorcycle crashes, pedestrian accidents, workers’ compensation claims, slip and fall injuries, medical malpractice, and wrongful death cases.

All practice areas receive the same commitment to Spanish-language services, immigration-friendly policies, and contingency fee accessibility that defines the firm’s approach to serving working families.

FREE CONSULTATIONS AVAILABLE IN SPANISH

Free consultations are available in Spanish at DeSalvo’s Oak Brook office or by phone for Cicero residents and workers injured in accidents or workplace incidents.

Consultations provide opportunity to discuss injury circumstances, understand legal options, evaluate case strength, and determine whether representation makes sense without any financial obligation.

“We want Cicero families to make informed decisions about their cases,” DeSalvo said. “Free consultations in Spanish ensure language barriers never prevent people from understanding their rights and options after injuries.”

NFL Free Agency Day 1: The biggest winners and losers

Monday was the first day of the NFL free agency negotiating window. As always, this was the time when all the action happened. Many top free agents have already agreed to sign contracts with teams, however, so they will have two days before finalizing anything. He always leaves room for change of heart.

Still, after so many deals have been agreed upon in principle, it’s time to break down the biggest winners and losers of free agency so far.

Winner- Tyler Linderbaum

NFL: Baltimore Ravens at Pittsburgh Steelers
Barry Rieger-Imagen Images

Linderbaum seemed like a strong bet to re-sign with the Ravens. Trading for Max Crosby would have changed Baltimore’s spending plans. Or, perhaps it was just the fact that the Raiders not only made Linderbaum the highest-paid center in NFL history with an offer, but Linderbaum signed a contract worth $27 million per season, while the previous mark was only $18 million. Talk about resetting the market.

Winner-Malik Willis

nfl free agency
Mark Hoffman/Milwaukee Journal Sentinel/via USA TODAY Network Images

There was some talk that Willis would top Justin Fields’ two-year, $40 million contract signed last season. He cleared it easily. Miami signed Willis to a three-year, $67.5 million deal. Not bad for a player who has just six starts to his name. Still, if the dual-threat QB can live up to Miami’s projections, the Dolphins could have a star on their hands.

Winner-Mike Evans

NFL: Tampa Bay Buccaneers at Carolina Panthers
Jim Dedmon-Images Images

It was hard to imagine, but Mike Evans left the Buccaneers after 12 seasons. Although the decision to do so may not have been easy, he found a great opportunity with Kyle Shanahan on the 49ers. He will step in as a top target for Brock Purdy, but he won’t have the full attention of the defense with players like Christian McCaffrey and George Kittle. Additionally, receiving over $20 million per season while coming off a career low in production at age 32 is good value for Evans, even if he is a potential Hall of Famer in the future.

Winners – Pass-Rushers

NFL: Las Vegas Raiders at Philadelphia Eagles
Eric Hartline-Imagen Images

Pass-rushers get paid on the open market. Jaylen Phillips was right not to sign an extension with the Dolphins or Eagles after being dealt to Philadelphia for a third-round pick at the trade deadline. Now he joins the Panthers on a playoff team, also earning a massive four-year, $120 million contract. Not bad for a player who hasn’t gotten more than 8.5 sacks in a season, but the sky may be the limit for the 26-year-old in Carolina.

Meanwhile, we also saw Boye Mafe become Trey Hendrickson’s replacement in Cincinnati. The Bengals signed the 27-year-old to a three-year, $60 million contract. He had a career-high nine sacks in 2023, but has had just eight sacks since. Then, Washington signed Odafe Oweh away from the Chargers to a four-year, $100 million contract. Oweh has recorded 17.5 sacks over the past two seasons and that is a huge accomplishment for the Commanders.

Winner-Alec Pierce

NFL: Indianapolis Colts at Houston Texans
Thomas Shea-Imagen Images

Pierce said he deserved the right to hit the open market after a breakout season where he led the NFL with 1,003 receiving yards while averaging 21.3 yards per reception. That makes perfect sense, as Pierce received interest from a collection of major leaguers, but ultimately opted to pursue his success with the Colts. However, getting a four-year, $116 million contract certainly didn’t hurt.

Winner- Fernando Mendoza

NFL: Combine
Kirby Lee-Images Images

He’s not on the team yet, but likely No. 1 overall pick Fernando Mendoza ends up being a big winner here after the Raiders strengthen their core, especially on offense. Linderbaum is considered a good fit for Clint Kubiak’s offense, which values an excellent center. Also, having an elite and experienced center is always good for a rookie QB. The Raiders also got a new deep threat in their final new franchise QB in Jalen ‘Speedy’ Neller, who could be poised for a breakout season if given more opportunities from Justin Jefferson and Jordan Addison in Minnesota.

Winner – Tennessee Titans

NFL: New York Giants at Las Vegas Raiders
Stephen R. sylvany-imagen images

The Titans aren’t happy with being in the bottom five, and now the new arrangement is set to upgrade the roster talent. Tennessee has added several starters, including a new target for Cam Ward in 1,000-yard receiver Van’Dale Robinson. Robert Saleh’s defense also got some upgrades. First he signed a three-year, $63 million contract with John Franklin-Myers away from Denver. He has recorded 14.5 sacks over the past two seasons. They also added 24-year-old cornerback Kor’Dale Floet on a $45 million contract. Three major upgrades to address weak points at Tennessee, and they’re all already familiar to the coaching staff.

Winner – New York Giants

NFL: AFC Divisional Round-Baltimore Ravens at Buffalo Bills
Gregory Fisher-Imagen Images

The Giants may have lost a 1,000-yard receiver in Van’Dale Robinson, but they didn’t panic. The Giants still managed to get franchise QB Jackson Dart a new weapon by stealing tight end Isaiah Brown from the Ravens. Was possibly seen as the eventual replacement for Mark Andrews in Baltimore, but now he’s got the starting job in New York instead.

Winner – Kansas City Chiefs

NFL: Super Bowl LX-Seattle Seahawks at New England Patriots
Mark J. rebilas-imagen images

The Chiefs are set to receive their highest draft pick since making Patrick Mahomes the 10th overall pick in the 2017 NFL Draft. Still, they have now added a key playmaker to their backfield by signing Super Bowl LX MVP Kenneth Walker III to a three-year, $45 million contract. Walker provides another threat to utilize Andy Reid on all three downs. Additionally, the Chiefs made sure to bring back Travis Kelce under contract for 2026 as well.

Winner – New York Jets

NFL: Miami Dolphins at New York Jets
Vincent Carchietta-Imagen Images

Even though their first move of the day happened before free agency began, we still have to note that the Jets traded All-Pro defender Minkah Fitzpatrick for just a seventh-round pick. But the Jets didn’t add adept players to Aaron Glenn’s defense. They also added former All-Pro linebacker Demario Davis on a two-year deal. Both veterinarians will help prepare the environment in New York.

Winner- Punters

NFL: Baltimore Ravens at Pittsburgh Steelers
charles leclair-imagen images

It was a good day to be a speculator. The Giants made Jordan Stout the highest-paid punter in the NFL, and brought him in with John Harbaugh from Baltimore. Stout received a total of $12.3 million over three years. Then, the Saints gave Ryan Wright a four-year, $14 million contract. The Dolphins joined the party by re-signing Jake Bailey to a three-year, $9 million contract. Booting the ball isn’t bad.

Loser – Tampa Bay Buccaneers fans

NFL: Tampa Bay Buccaneers at Miami Dolphins
Sam Navarro-Imagen Images

It’s not easy saying goodbye to a franchise icon and potential future Hall of Famer like Mike Evans. He spent all 12 seasons of his career with the Buccaneers and became the franchise leader in receptions, yards and touchdowns. He also won a Super Bowl. Still, Bucs fans will now have to support Evans’ success in San Francisco for the next three seasons. Tampa Bay made some underrated signings in Kenneth Gainwell and Alex Anzalone while retaining Cade Otton, but still holding out Mike Evans.

Loser – Baltimore Ravens

NFL:Baltimore Ravens Minicamp
Daniel Kussin Jr.-Image Images

The Ravens lost several starters, seeing Tyler Linderbaum, Isaiah Likely, Dre’Mont Jones and Jordan Stout leave for other teams in free agency. Baltimore signed offensive lineman John Simpson, but he was ranked just 54th among guards in 2025 according to Pro Football Focus. We’ve seen the Ravens get worse since trading for Crosby, but their defense should be much better.

Loser – Alvin Kamara

NFL: New Orleans Saints at Carolina Panthers
Bob Donnan-Imagen Images

Franchise icon Alvin Kamara is being phased out due to Kellen Moore’s offense in New Orleans. He is coming off a career-low 471 rushing yards and 186 receiving yards with one touchdown. Additionally, the Saints signed Travis Etienne as his replacement by giving him a $52 million contract. Now 30, Kamara may have played his last snap in a Saints uniform.

Loser – Seattle Seahawks

NFL: NFC Divisional Round-San Francisco 49ers at Seattle Seahawks
Steven Bissig-Image Images

The Seahawks won the Super Bowl. Since then they have been misappropriating talent. It started with the loss of offensive coordinator/playcaller Clint Kubiak to the Raiders. Now players are also getting paid to take jobs elsewhere. Rashid Shahid remains unsigned, but the Seahawks’ chance to run it back has evaporated after seeing Super Bowl LX MVP Kenneth Walker sign with the Chiefs, where he might be able to add to his Lombardi total.

Loser – Michael Penix Jr.

NFL: Carolina Panthers at Atlanta Falcons
Brett Davis-Imagen Images

When all is said and done one of the biggest losers of free agency may be Michael Penix Jr. The Falcons now have a Pro Bowl quarterback joining them in Atlanta after signing Tua Tagovailoa after recovering from an ACL injury suffered on November 16. After throwing a career-high 15 interceptions last season, Tagovailoa will not only be highly motivated to show the Falcons that he is capable of being an elite QB again, but he will need to increase his value in time to hit the open market again in 2027.

Top 10 Magic Curve Free Kicks: Best Swerve Goals in Football History 💫

Top 10 Magic Curve Free Kicks: Best Swerve Goals in Football History

In the world of football, few things get fans off their seats like a free kick that defies the laws of physics. Whether it’s the Indian Super League (ISL) stars trying to find the top corner or global icons on the World Cup stage, the “curve” or “banana shot” remains the ultimate test of skill. Today, we look at the top 10 magic curve free kicks that left goalkeepers stranded and fans in awe.

The Art of the Swerve

To execute a magic curve, a player must strike the ball with precision, adding a high RPM (revolutions per minute) spin that creates a pressure difference—known as the Magnus Effect. This causes the ball to bend mid-air. Here are the greatest examples of this artistry.

1. Roberto Carlos vs. France (1997)

Often cited as the greatest free kick ever, the Brazilian legend struck the ball with the outside of his left boot. The ball looked like it was heading for the corner flag before it violently curved back into the net, leaving Fabien Barthez frozen.

2. Lionel Messi vs. Liverpool (2019)

In the Champions League semi-final, Messi proved why he is the GOAT. From 30 yards out, he curled the ball around the Liverpool wall with such accuracy that even Alisson Becker’s desperate dive couldn’t touch it.

3. David Beckham vs. Greece (2001)

With England’s World Cup hopes on the line in the final minute, Beckham stepped up. His trademark “bend it like Beckham” style saw the ball clear the wall and dip perfectly into the top corner.

4. Cristiano Ronaldo vs. Portsmouth (2008)

While known for the “knuckleball,” this specific strike had a wicked swerve and dip that defied logic. It is widely considered the best free kick in Premier League history.

5. Ronaldinho vs. England (2002)

From an impossible angle on the right wing, Ronaldinho spotted David Seaman slightly off his line and lopped a curving ball directly into the far corner. Was it a cross or a shot? Only the Brazilian magician knows.

6. Mikael Nilsson vs. PSV (1993)

A hidden gem in football history. Nilsson’s strike shifted direction three times in the air—a masterclass in pure swerve and unpredictable movement.

7. Juninho Pernambucano vs. Bayern Munich (2003)

The king of free kicks, Juninho hit a shot from nearly 35 yards. The ball swerved from left to right, crashing off the post and into the net. Oliver Kahn actually ran into his own goalpost trying to catch it.

8. Dimitri Payet vs. Crystal Palace (2016)

Payet’s free kick for West Ham started outside the line of the post and curved so sharply that it ended up in the opposite top corner. It looked like a glitch in a video game.

9. Hakan Çalhanoğlu vs. Dortmund (2014)

From the halfway circle, Çalhanoğlu unleashed a “magic curve” that shifted late in the flight, making it impossible for the keeper to track. Jurgen Klopp’s reaction on the sidelines said it all.

10. Sunil Chhetri vs. Kyrgyzstan (2017)

Bringing it home for Indian fans! During the AFC Asian Cup Qualifiers, the Indian Captain struck a beautiful curling free kick that exhibited perfect technique, proving that India has its own masters of the curve.

Conclusion

Magic curve free kicks are the soul of football. They represent the perfect marriage between physics and athletic talent. From Roberto Carlos’s impossible trajectory to Sunil Chhetri’s clutch finishes, these goals remind us why we love the beautiful game. Whether you are playing on a local ground in Kolkata or watching the Premier League in Mumbai, the thrill of a bending ball remains unmatched.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

1. What is the “Magnus Effect” in football?

The Magnus Effect is the physical phenomenon where a spinning ball curves away from its principal flight path. In football, players use this by striking the ball off-center to create a curve.

2. Who has scored the most free kick goals in history?

Juninho Pernambucano holds the record for the most official free kick goals, with 77 successful strikes during his professional career.

3. How can I learn to curve a football like David Beckham?

To curve the ball, you need to strike the side of the ball with the inside of your foot (large toe area) while swinging your leg across your body to generate side-spin.

4. Are “Knuckleball” and “Curve” free kicks the same?

No. A curve kick relies on spin to change direction, while a knuckleball has almost no spin, causing it to wobble and change direction unpredictably due to air turbulence.

Las Vegas Raiders sign 3x Pro Bowler to record-breaking contract in free agency

NFL free agency has a tendency to shatter expectations. Talented players hit the open market, and teams with needs are eager to fill them, no matter the cost.

The Las Vegas Raiders are beginning a new era with a first-year head coach in Clint Kubiak. Soon, they are expected to make Fernando Mendoza the first overall pick in the 2026 NFL Draft. Now, they are giving their offense a huge boost.

according to athleticDiana Russini, signing the Raiders center Tyler Linderbaum. The 25-year-old was a strong candidate to be re-signed by the Ravens, but the three-time Pro Bowler was highly coveted, with the Browns and Commanders also registering interest.

However, it was the Raiders who landed one of the NFL’s top free agents by signing Linderbaum to a record-setting contract for a center. He is being signed to a three-year, $81 million contract. The NFL’s second-highest paid center is now two-time All-Pro and four-time Pro Bowler Creed Humphrey, who is averaging $18 million per season.

Still, the Raiders are getting an excellent player in Linderbaum who may still have more room for development. Center is also an extremely important position in Coach Kubiak’s attack.

Linderbaum is not only effective, but he’s also durable, having missed just two games since becoming the 25th overall pick in the 2022 NFL Draft. Now he will be a big part of the Raiders’ future, and help create a pocket for Mendoza for years to come.

Carolina Panthers make $120 million free agency signing

The NFL free agency negotiation window opens Monday at 12 p.m. ET. As always, there was an immediate burst of activity. The Carolina Panthers wasted no time in writing a big check, the largest ever.

Weeks earlier, Panthers general manager Dan Morgan had acknowledged that the team would consider signing former Pro Bowl pass-rusher Bradley Chubb, who was recently released by the Dolphins. The Panthers didn’t end up signing Chubb (though they still could), Carolina simply added one of his former teammates who may ultimately be even better than Chubb.

According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, the Panthers are signing edge rusher Jalen Phillips to a four-year, $120 million contract. The 6-foot-5, 266-pound Phillips was traded from Miami to Philadelphia in exchange for a third-round pick, but he now leaves the Eagles after just eight games with the team.

Phillips, 26, arrived with the Dolphins as the 18th overall pick in the first round of the 2021 NFL Draft. He’s still trying to top the 8.5 sacks he recorded as a rookie, but he’s also recovered from two season-ending injuries, including a torn Achilles, in 2023.

Last season, Phillips recorded 53 tackles (7 TFL), five sacks, two fumble recoveries and four pass deflections in 17 starts. Now he’ll look to build on those numbers in Carolina, where he’ll join a front seven that includes Pro Bowl defensive tackle Derrick Brown to help eat up blockers in the middle of the defense.

Atlanta Falcons ‘making push’ to sign Pro Bowl QB in free agency

The Atlanta Falcons will have a new head coach next season. They may also have a new quarterback.

Michael Penix Jr., the eighth overall pick of the 2024 NFL Draft, is still recovering from a torn ACL he suffered on Nov. 16. He may not be ready for the start of the season.

Either way, the Falcons are making other plans at the QB position after recently moving on from Kirk Cousins, who is set for free agency again. With Cousins gone, the Falcons need more depth at the position, and new head coach Kevin Stefanski may also have a say in the matter.

According to NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo, the Falcons are “making a push” to sign recently released Tua Tagovailoa.

The Dolphins are still paying Tagovailoa $54 million in 2026, so they are expected to sign the veteran for a minimum of $1.3 million. It’s an incredible deal for him, whether he gets any starts or not.

Still, the Falcons can have confidence in Tagovailoa returning as a Pro Bowl QB under Coach Stefanski. At least, the 28-year-old brings 76 games of starting experience to Atlanta, where Penix has only 12 starts.

Additionally, Penix and Tagovailoa are both left-handed quarterbacks, which should make for an easier transition for receivers to catch passes moving in a different direction.

8 free agent landing spots, including the Chargers

Despite an apparent career decline at age 37, future Hall of Famer and Kansas City Chiefs legend Travis Kelce will return for his 14th NFL season in 2026. The Athletic first broke the news on Sunday night. However, they also report that the free agent tight end is not guaranteed to return to the only franchise he has ever played for.

“It is not certain whether the team he plays for will be the head of the team. Kelce’s representatives are expected to speak to multiple teams,” the outlet reports.

With the 11-time Pro Bowler set to return next season, let’s take a look at seven teams he could land with in NFL free agency this month.

houston texans

travis kelsey
Denny Medley-Images Images

The Houston Texans have a Super Bowl-caliber defense. However, their offense has held them back the past few seasons. They have a good quarterback in CJ Stroud, but they need more weapons. With $33 million in available cap space this offseason, according to Over the Cap, Kelce is a player who can make an impact while still staying in his price range. Don’t be surprised if Houston is a contender for a great finish to the month.

Seattle Seahawks

travis kelsey
Kirby Lee-Images Images

If Kelce is going to play in 2026, you can bet his goal will be to join a team with a legitimate shot at winning a championship next season. Well, the Seattle Seahawks are sure to be in contention again after winning their latest Super Bowl title last month.

Additionally, they have a good chunk of cap space this offseason and a clear need for more meaningful pass-game weapons to help take the load off star receiver Jackson Smith-Njigba.

los angeles chargers

travis kelsey
Denny Medley-Images Images

The Los Angeles Chargers have won 11 games and will have more than $90 million in cap space either way this offseason. In 2025, LA did not have a single receiver over 1,000 receiving yards. Kelce is unlikely to do it for them, but he will certainly draw attention and help a player like Ladd McConkey have an even better year in 2026.

The idea of Kelce playing for the Bolts and taking passes from Justin Herbert would be a stab in the back for Chiefs fans, but we’ve seen franchise veterans play for the enemy before. The best example is Green Bay Packers icon Brett Favre who suited up for the hated Minnesota Vikings his last two seasons.

kansas city chiefs

travis kelsey
Denny Medley-Images Images

Speaking of the Chiefs, it’s still very possible that Travis Kelce returns to Kansas City next season. He has freed up a good amount of cap space over the past few weeks and he would certainly command a discounted rate again to return for his final season.

If this is a transition season for the Chiefs as Patrick Mahomes returns from a torn ACL, Kelce being on a retirement tour could certainly lead to another disappointing year for KC.

New York Giants

travis kelsey
Stephen Lew-Imagen Images

Kelce will aim to be a contender in 2026. However, playing in New York and playing for a franchise like the New York Giants is always a draw for star players. Big Blue’s poor performance over the last three seasons should cause the future Hall of Famer to lose interest. However, there is a belief that the Giants could be much better in 2026 with new head coach John Harbaugh.

Young QB Jackson Darts needs more reliable weapons, and Kelce will definitely help. Offering his NFL swan song on New York’s big stage might have some appeal for the tight end if he doesn’t like the other offers he receives.

denver broncos

travis kelsey
Stephen Lew-Imagen Images

The Chargers may not be the only major foe that could come into play for Travis Kelce this offseason. If Bo Knicks had suited up in the AFC Championship Game, many NFL analysts believe the Denver Broncos would have defeated the New England Patriots. They therefore meet the criteria of being a serious title contender for next season.

Additionally, Evan Engram was a huge disappointment for Denver last season. If they sign Kelce, they could consider moving him, or go with an interesting and dangerous two-TE set in 2026.

Washington Commanders

travis kelsey
Jeffrey Baker-Imagen Images

One team hoping for a deep playoff run and salary cap space this offseason is the Washington Commanders. Additionally, tight end is expected to be a position they look to upgrade in the coming weeks.

After reaching the NFC Championship two seasons ago, fans saw how good Washington and star QB Jaden Daniels could be. Kelce could be one of the key offseason signings that gets the Commanders back into playoff contention this offseason.

retirement

travis kelsey
Kiyoshi Mio-imagen images

It’s very possible that Kelce hits free agency and doesn’t love the options or offers he receives. He has been retired for the past few seasons, and does not need to keep playing as his acting career is growing rapidly and his new heights Podcasts are extremely popular. It wouldn’t be shocking if Kelce takes a look at the free agent market and decides retirement is a better option.

Predicting where the New York Giants’ top free agents will land

NFL free agency begins March 11thThere is a lot of curiosity as to how the New York Giants will approach free agency under head coach John Harbaugh.

The Giants’ top free agents are receiver Wan’Dale Robinson, right tackle Jermaine Eluemunor and corner Cor’Dell Floet. All three are at the top of their respective positions on the free agency market and will draw attention across the league.

The team has interest in trying to re-sign each player, but with $14.2 million in cap space according to Over the Cap after cutting Bobby Okereke, James Hudson and restructuring Devin Singletary’s contract, that’s not a realistic possibility. Here are our predictions for the landing spots for New York’s top three free agents.

RELATED: 3 free agent receivers who should be on the New York Giants’ radar

van’dale robinson

NFL: New York Giants at Las Vegas Raiders
Stephen R. sylvany-imagen images

Robinson is coming off the best season of his four-year career as he had career highs in receptions (92), receiving yards (1,014) and receiving touchdowns with four. When Malik Nabors was lost for the season due to a torn ACL in Week 4, Robinson was the only reliable wideout that Jackson Dart had to throw to.

The twenty-five-year-old wideout has established himself as one of the best slot receivers in the league, and it is expected that he will want a contract that will pay him $16-18 million annually. This may be more than New York is willing to pay the 5’8 185-pound receiver, especially since he is limited outside in numbers.

Additionally, former Giants head coach Brian Daboll, now the offensive coordinator with the Tennessee Titans, would love to reunite with Robinson and help him develop quarterback Cam Ward. The Titans have more than $92 million in cap space and can pay Robinson whatever they want.

Prediction: Robinson signs with Tennessee Titans

german elyumunor

NFL: New York Giants at Houston Texans
Troy Taormina-Imagen Images

Elyumunor spent the last two seasons with Big Blue and started 31 games. The 31-year-old right tackle has been solid in pass protection as he had a PFF pass blocking grade of 76.7, and he helped the Giants finish fifth in the league at 129 yards per game.

Elyumunor considers himself one of the best right tackles in the league, and the above-average offensive tackle could be worth $13 to $17 million annually. If he and his agent are willing to settle for the low end of that range, there’s a good chance he’ll return to the team.

What bodes well for his return is that head coach John Harbaugh was the head coach in Baltimore when the Ravens drafted him with the 159th overall selection in the 2017 NFL Draft. Ensuring that Jackson Dart remains upright is a priority for the club, and Elyumunor has shown he can help achieve this.

Prediction: Elyumunor re-signs with Giants

Kor’Del Mahan

NFL: Philadelphia Eagles at New York Giants
Vincent Carchietta-Imagen Images

After being a part-time starter his first three seasons, Flott emerged as a full-time starter and started all 14 games in which he appeared. In 2025, he had 38 tackles, a career-high 11 passes defensed, and one interception.

The 24-year-old corner will look to maximize his earning potential while still in the prime of his career, but this is a deep free agency pool at cornerback. With many corners on the market, this could hurt his value, especially since he has never thrown more than one interception in a season. His small frame at 6’2, 175 pounds has raised concerns about whether he will fit the physical style that New York expects to play under new defensive coordinator Dennard Wilson.

The Giants are weak, especially as Deonte Banks has been a huge disappointment in his three years with the team. So, unless another team breaks the bank to pay the float, he should come back to the team.

Prediction: Flott re-signs with the Giants

Winners, losers from the first big week of the 2026 NFL offseason before free agency

NFL free agency begins next week and the new NFL league year 2026 will also make some blockbuster trades official. There’s been a lot happening lately with top players being added to new teams and marquee players getting franchise tags, so it’s worth breaking down some of the early action.

Following the first true week of the 2026 NFL offseason, we’re breaking down the winners and losers so far.

Winner: Baltimore Ravens HC Jesse Minter

2026 nfl offseason
lexi thompson-image images

Did the Baltimore Ravens pay a premium in the Max Crosby trade? Yes. This is exactly the type of move the front office needs to make to support first-year head coach Jesse Minter. He’s one of the best defensive play-callers in the NFL, but his scheme can only be truly excellent if it has an excellent edge player who can let him get past seven players. Last season, Baltimore ranked 28th in ESPN pass-rush win rate (30 percent) with the sixth-lowest pressure rate (19 percent) in the NFL. Crosby, when healthy, is one of the best three-down edge rushers in football. Minter now has his difference-maker at all three levels, with Crosby generating pressure, Roquan Smith playing the middle of the field and Kyle Hamilton doing everything else. This is the kind of move Super Bowl contenders make.

Loser: 2026 NFL Draft RB class out Jeremiah Love

2026 nfl offseason
kirby lee-image images

Jeremiah Love is not only the best running back in the 2026 NFL Draft class; He is viewed by most people as one of the top three players overall this year. What does the NFL think of its draft-eligible teammates? The reported contract projections for Kenneth Walker ($13-plus million average annual value) and Travis Etienne ($10-plus million AAV), along with the likes of Rachad White, Tyler Allger, Kenneth Gainwell and Rico Dowdle among several teams keeping an eye on him, tell you everything you need to know. No matter who one sees as the second-best running back prospect — whether it’s Jonah Coleman, Jadarion Price or Emmett Johnson — the club is not fond of this year’s pool outside of Love. We could see only three running backs selected in the first three rounds.

RELATED: Ranking the Jeremiah Love landing spots

Winner: Fernando Mendoza and the Las Vegas Raiders

2026 nfl offseason
Jacob Musselman-Imagen Images

Let’s leave aside the debate about the Las Vegas Raiders not taking quarterback Fernando Mendoza with the first overall pick. Now, let’s take a look at this week’s developments that will help beginners. First, the Baltimore Ravens have made moves that make re-signing Pro Bowl center Tyler Linderbaum seem unlikely. Second, several of Linderbaum’s competitors – like the Chicago Bears, who just acquired Garrett Bradbury, and the Los Angeles Chargers, who just signed Tyler Biadasz – have taken themselves out of the mix. According to OverTheCap.com, the Raiders now have nearly $120 million in cap space, giving them the financial flexibility to aggressively pursue Linderbaum, potentially sign Rashid Shahid and do even more to fill out the supporting cast around Mendoza. Additionally, it appears the club will also sign an experienced quarterback to ease Mendoza if he doesn’t win the starting job in training camp.

RELATED: NFL free agency predictions for top running backs

Loser: Joe Burrow

2026 nfl offseason
Joseph Maiorana-Imagen Images

The week began with the Cincinnati Bengals opting not to use the franchise tag on Trey Hendrickson, allowing him to leave in free agency. What does it mean? The organization can either make moderate moves now just to improve the roster so it can get a compensatory third-round pick in the 2026 NFL Draft or it can spend more money and let Hendrickson effectively walk for nothing. Of course, that assumes there are key players who want to play for Cincinnati for a long time. Meanwhile, quarterback Joe Burrow will also now have to deal with the fact that he will be playing eight games per season against Maxx Crosby, Myles Garrett and TJ Watt. This also does not include next season’s matchups against the Houston Texans defense. Burrow will either miss games in 2026 or take more than 50 sacks.

Winner: Alec Pierce

2026 nfl offseason
Thomas Shea-Imagen Images

In January, it looked like Indianapolis Colts wide receiver Alec Pierce would get a multi-year contract in the range of $20 to $25 million per season when he hit the open market. Once Indianapolis placed the transition tag on Daniel Jones and George Pickens was tagged by the Dallas Cowboys, Pierce became the top offensive weapon in NFL free agency. He is reportedly already on the radar for clubs like the Tennessee Titans, San Francisco 49ers, New England Patriots and Las Vegas Raiders. Because of all that interest and this free-agent class being weaker than usual, we think Pierce could now reach $30 million AAV. The hottest deep threat in the NFL is about to cash in, with his signing bonus almost certainly tripling his career earnings ($8.66 million) from his first four seasons.

RELATED: Predicting landing spots for top NFL free agent wide receivers

Loser: Daniel Jones

2026 nfl offseason
Travis Register-Imagen Images

We are not here to suggest that quarterback Daniel Jones is suffering from his current situation in any way. After all, the “worst-case scenario” is for him to suffer a bust while earning a fully guaranteed $37.833 million in 2026. However, it seems like the 2026 NFL offseason didn’t unfold the way they wanted for Jones’ camp. First, Indianapolis did not sign him to a multi-year contract, nor did they use the franchise tag on him, which would have been worth $43.9 million. So he immediately lost money there. Second, while he is technically a free agent and free to sign an offer sheet with another team, there are other quarterbacks available and only a few teams are willing to spend big.

We also suspect the market will reflect reality more than the NFL free agency rankings. Jones is a dual-threat quarterback who is coming off an injury that had a significant impact at quarterback in his first season. He had durability problems early in his career. We suspect there won’t be much of a market for Jones, effectively forcing him to sign a one-year deal with Indianapolis.

RELATED: 2026 NFL free agency predictions for top quarterbacks

Winner: Minnesota Vikings

2026 nfl offseason
Mark J. rebilas-imagen images

Heading into the 2026 NFL offseason, the Minnesota Vikings find themselves in a worrisome situation. Salary-cap issues forced cap casualties at some key positions, resulting in this roster becoming weaker at several positions and having less depth than before. All along, Minnesota needed to go out and find a viable quarterback who could challenge JJ McCarthy for the starting job when it had little money to offer. Then the Arizona Cardinals announced they would be releasing Kyler Murray, putting the majority of their salary on hold in 2026. We know Murray will probably talk to multiple teams, but signing with Minnesota seems inevitable. Assuming a deal gets done, the Vikings will have to sign an above-average starting quarterback for a minimum amount of money. It’s a dream for Kevin O’Connell and it could soon become a reality.

5 potential Green Bay Packers targets in NFL free agency to improve defensively

The Green Bay Packers went into NFL free agency knowing they would lose Malik Willis, Rasheed Walker, Romeo Dobbs and Quaye Walker. For general manager Brian Gutekunst, the balancing act will come with trying to both improve the roster, while also ensuring the team remains in good position to receive a compensatory selection in the 2027 NFL Draft.

With free agency underway, we’re examining some potential targets Green Bay could pursue.

Josh Jobe, cornerback

green bay packers free agent targets
Carrie Edmondson-Imagen Images

Packers general manager Brian Gutekunst acknowledged that cornerback is an area where the team needs to improve. However, without a first-round pick, any rookie brought in will be a developmental piece who won’t see the field a ton in 2026. Immediate help is available in NFL free agency, although clubs have limited financial flexibility to address the situation.

Before winning a Super Bowl with the Seattle Seahawks, Josh Jobe spent two seasons with the Philadelphia Eagles, including one season under defensive coordinator Jonathan Gannon, whom he spent mostly learning from the sidelines. He played 65 percent of Philadelphia’s defensive snaps in 2024, allowing a 76.6 passer rating and 7.2 yards per target in coverage, and then played 78 percent of the Seahawks’ defensive snaps last season, allowing a 77.0 passer rating and 5.7 yards per target. He’s a bit of a gamble, as his success has come with great talent around him, but he offers qualities Green Bay likes, and he could challenge for a starting spot next season in a reunion with Gannon.

Roy Lopez, nose tackle

green bay packers free agent targets
Lone Horwedel-Imagen Images

As impressive as Micah Parsons was for Green Bay’s defense last season, the absence of Kenny Clark was felt. The team needs more help in the interior, especially with Jonathan Gannon taking over as the defensive play-caller. Luckily for Brian Gutekunst and Gannon, there are some options in NFL free agency. Within the club’s price range, Roy Lopez stands out.

According to Pro Football Focus, he spent last season with the Detroit Lions, setting career highs in quarterback hits (five) and sacks (two), while finishing 15th among interior defensive linemen in run defense grade (68.9). Before that, Lopez spent two seasons guarding Gannon in Arizona, playing 45 percent of the defensive snaps. He’s a strong nose tackle at 6-foot-2 and 312 pounds, and he’ll help restore what Green Bay lost on the interior when Clark was traded.

Nakobe Dean, off-ball linebacker

green bay packers free agent targets
Bill Streicher-Images

Tom Silverstein of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reported last week that Green Bay has reached out to agents who have linebacker clients hitting the open market during the NFL Combine, gauging the market for potential additions. Nakobe Dean could be an option, especially since Jonathan Gannon was the defensive coordinator in Philadelphia when the team selected him in the 2022 NFL Draft. Dean has a small frame and stands at 5 feet 11 inches tall, but is considered one of the best blitzing linebackers in the NFL. If Green Bay wants to find different ways to generate pressure for Micah Parsons, who suffered an ACL injury in year one — especially if Rashaan Gary is released — Dean could be a target at off-ball linebacker.

Calais Campbell, defensive lineman

green bay packers free agent targets
Mark J. rebilas-imagen images

One topic of our list of potential Packers free agent targets is the relationship between said player and defensive play-caller Jonathan Gannon. The same applies to Calais Campbell, who recorded 33 pressures, 16 quarterback hits and 6.5 sacks at Arizona last season. The 6-foot-8 and 315-pound Campbell is often used in a rotational role — he logged 524 snaps last season — as he now enters his age-40 season. That said, he can be a very good situational pass rusher, and he’s still making an impact on special teams.

Asante Samuel Jr., cornerback

green bay packers free agent targets
charles leclair-imagen images

Before signing with the Pittsburgh Steelers at the end of the 2025 season, Asante Samuel Jr. met with the Packers. After playing six games (three starts) with Pittsburgh, he did not sign with the team. There are still medical risks, but Green Bay’s height-weight-speed limits on cornerbacks already limit their options. If Gutekunst doesn’t want to spend much at the position, perhaps a one-year deal with Samuel could be a good risk-reward move for both sides.

New England Patriots interested in Cincinnati’s star free agent

The New England Patriots know that despite making the Super Bowl, they will have to make big moves during the NFL offseason. New England has needs on the offensive and defensive lines, while also looking for a wide receiver to lead the room. However, the Patriots have been specifically linked to an elite pass rusher in NFL free agency.

The Patriots are interested in signing star free agent pass rusher Trey Hendrickson after the Cincinnati Bengals didn’t give him the franchise tag, MassLive’s Mark Daniels reports. However, it would be the right price for Hendrickson to stay in New England this offseason, as the organization wants flexibility for other moves as well.

Over the past three seasons, Hendrickson has been one of the best edge rushers in the NFL. Despite a four-sack season in 2025, the 31-year-old defensive end had 17.5 sacks in 2023 and 2024. Hendrickson is projected to receive a very large contract in NFL free agency, as players of his caliber do not typically enter the market.

New England needs edge rushers to bolster the defense in the 2026-27 NFL season. Milton Williams and Christian Barmore were the leaders of the defensive line on the interior, but the outside struggled to beat the quarterback. There would be no better choice than Hendrickson to address that issue.

While it may seem like a long shot, the Patriots signing Hendrickson would bring an already great defense to elite status. New England will be in the market for multiple edge rushers in free agency and the NFL Draft, but Hendrickson will help alleviate that need. After all, the Patriots know what an elite defense can do to an offensive line, and Hendrickson would be an excellent addition.

Leeds United have free agent prospect – attractive deal for the Whites

hidemasa morita
LISBON, PORTUGAL – 08 17 2025: Hidemasa Morita is seen during the Liga Portugal game between the teams of Sporting CP and FC Arauca

Leeds United target moving closer to free summer exit with Portuguese newspaper to ball Reporting Sporting CP are already preparing for the departure of Hidemasa Morita.

The Japan international is just months away from the expiry of his contract in Lisbon. According to the report, he will “put a full stop” to his four-year tenure at Alvalade. There are no hopes of a renewal, and Sporting are restructuring their midfield in anticipation of his exit.

This effectively puts Morita back on the market ahead of the 2026/27 season.

Preparing sporting succession plans

A Bola revealed that there will be significant changes to Sporting’s midfield. Morita isn’t the only possible departure. captain Morten Hjulmand is also attracting keen interest And it could generate one of the club’s biggest summer sales.

With this in mind, the Portuguese side is acting quickly. 26-year-old Daniel Bragança is already being developed into the number 8 role, with Morita expected to move directly into the role.

Additionally, Sporting plans to sign at least two midfielders. Will serve as a more positional number 6, potentially replacing Hjulmand. The second will play the number 8 role to balance the team after Morita’s departure.

This is not a reactive plan. The structure has reportedly been working on this change for some time.

What happened to leeds united?

Leeds United were strongly linked with Morita in the summer. As we covered at the time, record He was reported to be keen on a move to the Premier League, with Leeds United named as the only solid English club in the frame.

However, Leeds eventually reduced their interest. Concerns centered on his age (now 30) and fitness record. During the second half of last season, Morita suffered several injuries. This raised doubts about the commitment to transfer. No proposal was made and the move stalled.

Now, with his contract expiring and Sporting apparently planning without him, Morita will become available on a free transfer. This naturally increases their appeal throughout Europe.

Leeds United could use another reliable midfield option. So, given their interest and the player’s long-standing desire to play in the Premier League, this is a situation worth monitoring as the summer window approaches.

NY Yankees insider reveals secret resource that could free Dominguez in 2026

With Jason Dominguez’s future with the New York Yankees unclear, a team insider revealed a teammate who could play a key role in uncovering the former No. 1 prospect in 2026.

A few years ago, NY Yankees fans kept hearing about Dominguez and his potential to become an All-Star in the big leagues. In 2021, he was the No. 1-ranked player in their system and was nicknamed “The Martian” because his immense talent as a five-tool player was out of this world.

That’s why there was so much excitement when he reached the big leagues in 2023. Unfortunately, he hasn’t even come close to living up to those expectations. Despite having shown great form in his game over the past three seasons, injuries, inconsistent play and poor defense in the outfield have left the Dominican at a career crossroads at just 23 years of age.

A year ago, Dominguez was locked into the starting role for Opening Day. However, this year, there’s a good chance he starts the season in Triple-A, as there is no clear path for him to move into the outfield or at designated hitter in 2026. This has led to much speculation that he could eventually be traded by the team that signed him when he was just 16 years old.

Can Ahmed Rosario help free Jason Dominguez in 2026?

However, this week, New York Post MLB insider Joel Sherman expressed some hope that the NY Yankees could get an impressive season from Dominguez. In a new “3 Things I Think” video post, Sherman revealed one unique asset that could benefit youth in a big way. And that’s former New York Mets star prospect turned journeyman Ahmed Rosario.

The Yankees insider explained that Rosario has become a respected veteran throughout the game, and what he brings to the locker room is why the NY Yankees made sure to re-sign him this offseason.

“This is a hard-working guy who has figured out how to maximize a career that didn’t exactly go the way he wanted. And Rosario is still just 30, because he came in at a very young age, like Domíguez,” Sherman said.

The NYP reporter reported that Dominguez is following Rosario around like a “puppy dog”, having a locker next to the nine-year veteran, and that this could teach him great lessons on finding ways to be an impact player for his team, even if he is not the star.

Sherman believes that if the NY Yankees coaches can improve his defense, it is possible for Dominguez to become a 20-homer and 20-stolen base player in 2026 and beyond.

‘Packing my bags’ – Newcastle United and Fulham have big free agent opportunity

Zeke Celik

last week, sports witness Fulham and Newcastle United reported interest in AS Roma’s Zeki Celik.

It comes after uncertainty emerged over the defender’s future at the Italian giants. His current deal expires in the summer, but so far, the Giallorossi have struggled to get close to a renewal agreement.

His salary offer is much lower than the demands of Zeki Celik’s camp. The player is looking for €4m per year, this figure will be after tax.

This was giving other clubs, including Juventus, the opportunity to sign him on a free transfer. Now, Newcastle United and Fulham may have some certainty over the player’s future.

Zeki Celik is likely to leave Roma

Today, messenger Have a detailed report on the 29-year-old and his future.

The Türkiye international will ‘pack his bags’ for the summer. His team’s demands of €4m per season have proved decisive in this matter, with Roma now pushing back with a new offer.

The report mentions interest from Premier League clubs – possibly Newcastle United and Fulham. Juventus are currently the frontrunners for his signature but the matter has not been resolved yet. Zeki Celik’s next destination has not yet been decided, his agent is exploring the market.

Roma are believed to be already looking for a replacement and this is a sign that the right-back could definitely be leaving.

Why is the player pushing the salary issue?

At 29, Zeki Celik’s next club will be his last big pay check and he is determined to make the most of the opportunity.

There is no doubt how much his stature has grown since Claudio Ranieri returned to Roma last year. He has continued that form under Gian Piero Gasperini this season, starring at right wing-back.

He has also made a place for the left wing-back. The former Lille player may not be a young prospect but offers credibility. Having previously only been a back-up, the Türkiye international may also be happy with a limited squad role.

That’s why this could be an attractive opportunity for both Newcastle United and Fulham. He also boasts European experience, which will particularly appeal to the Magpies.

Where will Stephen Curry sign after Under Armour? Sneaker free agency up to 3 options

Golden State Warriors legend Stephen Curry is the latest NBA star to hit free agency, but the four-time champion and unanimous MVP isn’t moving away from the Bay Area. Over the past few weeks, serious drama has emerged between Curry and longtime sponsor Under Armor as Curry’s contract expires. Following this, Curry was seen rocking several sneaker brands both on the court and in the tunnel, narrowing his final choice down to three brands.

Check out our sneakers news for more upcoming releases and breaking content!

Steph Curry first signed to Under Armor in 2013, becoming the face of their basketball line and one of the first big-name athletes to join. The two sides released eight standalone, name-bearing models until the creation of the subset Curry brand in 2020. With Stephen Curry serving as president, he managed to sign other NBA talents such as the Spurs’ De’Aaron Fox and the Heat’s Davion Mitchell.

Curry’s split with Under Armour

During contract negotiations and initial consideration that the Curry brand would move away from Under Armour, Under Armor displaced all Curry brand social media followers on their main Under Armor page. The move has caused a stir throughout the sneaker community as Curry continues to rock other brands during basketball activities. Fans have also taken notice and come to the defense of their favorite NBA star.

Where will Stephen Curry sign next?

under armor

While there may be rifts between the two sides, it’s hard to distance yourself from a partnership that has lasted nearly Curry’s entire career. In sneaker terms, Curry leaving Under Armor would be the equivalent of leaving the Warriors, which fans don’t even want to think about at this point. Keeping all of its assets organized and within Under Armor could help promote the Curry brand even more in the years to come.

Nike

There’s no doubt that most athletes would jump at the idea of joining the biggest sports brand in the world. Nike has a long history with the best of the game like LeBron James, Kevin Durant and Michael Jordan, so it would make sense to make Curry its fourth Lifetime Athlete. Additionally, Curry has a close relationship with WNBA star Sabrina Ionescu, who is making history with her current Nike Sabrina signature sneaker line.

However, during their 2013 pitch to originally sign Curry, Nike made a huge mistake by mispronouncing “Stephen” and failing to prioritize him as a top athlete. Since Curry has been rocking a number of Nike sneakers before and during recent NBA games, there may be a chance he’s ready to make a mistake and bring the Curry brand to unimaginable heights.

end

The final brand that Soul Retriever originally reported made Curry’s final cut is Chinese sportswear brand ANTA. Curry has been seen endorsing recent ANTA sneakers during games thanks to his performance. However, Curry’s own “splash brother” Klay Thompson has been signed to ANTA since 2014 after leaving Nike, so he may be in Curry’s ear about the budding brand.

Additionally, Mavs’ Kyrie Irving serves as the Chief Creative Officer for ANTA and recently opened their first flagship location in the United States. Speaking with Sports Illustrated, Curry admitted that he respects emerging brands as he did when he joined Under Armor 13 years ago.

Curry is expected to make his decision in the coming weeks, with the NBA offseason likely being the latest deadline for an announcement. Remaining at Under Armor is the least likely outcome at this point and we’re all anxiously waiting to see where the Curry brand establishes its new roots.

Atlanta Falcons make free agency decision on Kyle Pitts

For the past two seasons, Kyle Pitts and the rest of the Atlanta Falcons have been coached by Raheem Morris. After consecutive 8–9 seasons that ended without a playoff appearance, the Falcons have moved in a different direction.

They no longer have a defensive-minded head coach. Now, they hire two-time Coach of the Year Kevin Stefanski, who brings an offensive background. Could this make a difference for Pitts, the fourth overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft?

Pitts is about to become a free agent for the first time in his career, but it looks like the Falcons aren’t going to let their Pro Bowl running back go by without getting something in return.

According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, the Falcons are now planning to place the franchise tag on Pitts this offseason. If so, that means he will receive a salary of more than $15 million. However, as Rapoport notes, the Falcons hope to still work out a long-term contract extension with Pitts rather than carry him for another season.

The 25-year-old is coming off one of his best seasons, in which he recorded 88 receptions for 928 yards and five touchdowns. The hope is that he can not only match, but exceed those stats while playing in Coach Stefanski’s offense. Still, many other teams are envisioning big numbers for Pitts if he also joins their offense.
