The Los Angeles Lakers look to get back to their winning ways in Wednesday night’s game with the Indiana Pacers. The Lakers had their nine-game winning streak snapped by the East-leading Detroit Pistons, 113-110, on Monday night.

Sitting at 16-56, the Pacers gave a great opportunity to make a comeback. Los Angeles took advantage of that opportunity and took a 29-point lead in the third quarter. Despite a late rally, Los Angeles prevailed 137–130.

In the win, several bench players received considerable time on the field. This includes LeBron James, son, Bronny James.

In 13 minutes of action, the young James scored four points. One of his two baskets was a rim-rattling dunk. James cut down the baseline and caught a no-look bounce pass from Luke Kennard and went up for a one-handed layup.

It was far from the only highlight of the night from the Lakers.

Luka Doncic led all scorers with 43 points on 15-30 shooting. He added seven assists and six rebounds in the win.

Bronny’s father LeBron also had a good all-round game. He fell just short of another triple-double, scoring 23 points with nine rebounds and nine assists.

Los Angeles improved to 47–26 on the season. They are two games ahead of the Denver Nuggets for the No. 3 seed in the abbreviated Western Conference. The Minnesota Timberwolves and Houston Rockets are close behind, but the Lakers hold the tie-breaker over all three teams.

The Golden State Warriors suffered another painful blow when running back Moses Moody suffered a non-contact knee injury on Monday against the Dallas Mavericks.

Everyone at American Airlines Center immediately became concerned about overtime when Moody fell to the floor and caught his knee shortly after going up for an uncontested bucket. Eventually he was taken out of the court on a stretcher.

Warriors survive Mavericks, 137-131. Moody finished with 23 points, three rebounds, three assists, three steals and two blocks.

It’s no secret that the 36-year-old Green has had conflicts with his teammates due to his fiery personality. But many have also said that the former Defensive Player of the Year is a great guy to have on your team.

Moody just returned from a 10-game absence due to a wrist injury. Now, he’ll likely have to sit out the rest of the season with Jimmy Butler and Stephen Curry on the sidelines.

The Warriors are in 10th place in the Western Conference with a 34-38 record.

The NBA has fined Philadelphia 76ers center Andre Drummond $25,000 following an incident during Thursday night’s 139-118 win over the Sacramento Kings, according to a report.

ClutchPoints NBA insider Brett Siegel shared the update Saturday on X, formerly known as Twitter.

“76ers center Andre Drummond has been fined $25,000 for making an offensive gesture on the field of play against the Kings.”

The league has not publicly disclosed additional details regarding the specific gesture, but the penalty has been added to the disciplinary actions given for conduct on the court this season.

Drummond contributed significantly to the win with 13 points, 11 rebounds, four assists and three blocks in 24 minutes off the bench. He made 5 of 11 shots from the field and connected on all three of his attempts from beyond the arc, continuing efficient play in a reserve role.

The 32-year-old has appeared in 52 games this season, including 24 starts, and is averaging 6.7 points, 8.7 rebounds and 1.1 assists per game. He is shooting 47.6% from the field and a career-high 34.7% from three-point range, while logging 20 minutes per contest.

Philadelphia moved to 38-32 with the win and remains in a tight race in the Eastern Conference standings. The 76ers are currently in ninth place, 0.5 games behind the sixth-seeded Orlando Magic (38-31) and 1.5 games behind the fifth-seeded Toronto Raptors (39-30).

Lakers’ LeBron James shows love for fellow sports legend

Salters has been working on the sidelines for nearly 20 years, joining NBA on ABC coverage in 2006 as the lead sideline reporter. She has been a part of ESPN since 2000. James has watched Salters on the sidelines throughout his career, and it seems as if the Lakers star has formed a relationship with one of the game’s most respected reporters.

In fact, the Lakers have to play a game tomorrow night as they face the Miami Heat.

BOSTON – “MVP, MVP, MVP.” That’s what Boston Celtics star Jaylen Brown heard as he approached the free throw line in the fourth quarter of the Green team’s 120-112 win over the Phoenix Suns on Monday night. Brown delighted the home crowd at TD Garden with a game-high 41 points – on 50% shooting – along with five assists and four rebounds.

The five-time All-Star played tirelessly against the Suns, constantly attacking the rim and forcing the referees to make call after call. This offensive aggression resulted in a career-high 21 free throws and allowed Brown to take all the MVP cheers while standing alone at the charity stripe.

“It’s pretty cool, not gonna lie,” Brown said of the MVP chants he received. “It’s just amazing to be at this point in my career and be able to get that love from the fans.”

Brown deserved every scream from the Boston faithful, as he recorded a game-high 18 points in the final frame alone. He was also responsible for the biggest momentum shift of the contest, which came when he cleanly stole the ball from Suns star Devin Booker, giving an easy lead to Celtics star Jayson Tatum on the other end with 3:05 remaining in the fourth quarter. This limited the Suns’ lead to just one and forced a timeout – they never recovered and the Celtics went on a 10–1 run to close out the win.

Although Brown is being serenaded with MVP chants throughout Beantown, that doesn’t mean he’ll be taking home the Michael Jordan Trophy. Reigning MVP Shai Gilgeous-Alexander is the favorite and his Oklahoma City Thunder have the advantage of having the best record in the NBA.

This will likely keep Brown from becoming the first Celtics MVP in four decades, yet he still has some history to chase. After lighting up the sun, the Georgia native is just 23 points away from entering the top-10 of the Celtics’ all-time scoring list. With a 23-point outing, he would be right behind his partner in offense Tatum on the historical leaderboard.

Tatum said of his on-court partnership with Brown, “We can count on each other in the biggest moments, the biggest games, the biggest situations, we’ve been through them all together.”

Following the 45-23 Celtics are the injury-hit Golden State Warriors, whom they host on Wednesday night during a primetime showdown. And while this contest likely won’t provide Brown with a big enough stage to further his MVP case, it will give him a chance to continue his stellar season and keep the Celtics in contention for the playoffs.

“I’m proud of my team, I’m proud of myself,” he said. “I always felt that if given the chance, I could become one of the top players in the world and I think I have to demonstrate that this season. Now my focus is on preparing for the playoffs.”
