Cleetus McFarland reveals when he’ll race in the next O’Reilly Series race

A week after YouTuber Cletus McFarland was denied entry into the O’Reilly Auto Parts Series race at Talladega Superspeedway this upcoming weekend, he has now revealed when he will next get the chance to drive an O’Reilly car for Richard Childress Racing.

McFarland announced on Instagram Monday afternoon that he will drive the No. 33 car for RCR in the Sports Illustrated Resorts 250 at Nashville Superspeedway on May 30.

“Look guys, your boy is going back to O’Reilly Racing. On May 30, I’ll be in the No. 33.”

Cleetus McFarland announced he will compete in the NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series race on May 30 at Nashville Superspeedway.

McFarland, age 31, made his O’Reilly Auto Parts Series debut on April 4 in the North Carolina Education Lottery 250 at Rockingham Speedway. He struggled in qualifying, posting the fourth slowest lap time, and found himself at the back of the field for most of the race. However, he avoided the wreck and finished the day in 32nd, with NASCAR drivers praising him for being successful throughout the race.

NASCAR ultimately determined that he had not performed adequately despite having enough time to prepare for the race at Talladega in the upcoming AG-Pro 300 on Saturday. Instead, his next opportunity to drive came last weekend in the ARCA Menards Series at Kansas Speedway.

While McFarland only finished 20th, he ran much better than the No. 30 car. He demonstrated the ability to make passes on the outside, weaving his way through the field to reach seventh place with 41 laps to go, and he was in 10th place with 25 laps to go in the race. Unfortunately, the engine explodes and he is forced to rescue her to avoid an accident.

McFarland continues to earn praise from fellow drivers and NASCAR media members for his dedication to improving his craft, devoting significant time to learning in the simulator and gaining insight from his teammates.

He will now have six weeks to prepare for the O’Reilly Series race at Nashville, another opportunity to gain experience in the car. While McFarland will almost certainly finish at the back of the field in the Sports Illustrated Resorts 250, NASCAR and the CW Network will get great TV ratings from it, and the race will help him improve even more moving forward.

Kyle Busch hits back at Denny Hamlin and threatens to ‘make his life hell’

Kyle Busch has not won more than 100 consecutive Cup Series races, punctuating his stellar career that seemingly featured him with more than 80 wins. Now, amid growing skepticism and criticism, Bush appears to be taking issue with recent comments made by his former running mate.

When The Athletic’s Jeff Gluck asked for a reaction to Denny Hamlin’s recent comments about the future Hall of Famer’s struggles in the No. 8 car on Saturday, Busch fired back at his former teammate. He also said that he could create problems for him on the track as payback.

“80 percent of people don’t know what they’re talking about. In this case, I don’t know if Denny Hamlin even knows what he’s talking about. He can curse at me all he wants. I can definitely make his life hell.”

As for Busch’s aspirations to make Hamlin’s “life hell” with the No. 8 car, that may prove a little difficult if recent history is any guide. He finished 25th at Bristol Motor Speedway and 24th at Martinsville Speedway, meaning he finished several laps behind the No. 11 car. For Sunday’s race at Kansas Speedway, check out NASCAR’s starting lineup today Hamlin is starting second after posting the second-best lap time (29.161 seconds) in qualifying with a top speed of 185.179 mph, while Busch qualified 23rd at 29.653 seconds with a top speed of 182.106 mph.

It’s understandable why Bush is disappointed. He is approaching his third full season without a win in the Cup Series, and his on-track results are only getting worse. He moved up to 24th in the standings on Sunday, just 7 points ahead of teammate Austin Dillon. Busch’s frustrations are heard over the radio, and it becomes clear that he is fed up with his situation at Richard Childress Racing in a contract year.

Hamlin’s comments came on the latest episode of Actions Detrimental. He also admitted of Busch that “talent-wise I can’t hold that guy’s helmet”, but added that his former teammate “must keep it better than your teammate (Dillon)” and added that Busch has long struggled with the Next Gen car.

Busch clearly heard those comments and said it’s the No. 8 car and team that is the biggest issue, adding that he would be happy to swap places with Hamlin and see how he handles it.

“If Denny wants to swap cars, I’ll swap cars with him any day of the week, any time. I’d love for him to show me he can take it better than me.”

Kyle Busch responds to Denny Hamlin’s comments about No. 8 car, Busch’s struggles

Hamlin never said RCR was blameless in Busch’s winless streak, even saying the team was “not good right now.” However, as someone who used to be teammates with Busch at Joe Gibbs Racing, he noted that he struggled with consistency; Even at that time, there were issues.

To that point, Busch had only one win in his final season with Joe Gibbs Racing, and had an average finishing position (16.7). Fast forward to 2026, Busch’s replacement, Ty Gibbs, is racking up wins and six consecutive top-six finishes, while Busch has finished outside the top 20 in the last four races.

Busch’s frustration is understandable, and these comments coming from Hamlin may be especially impressive given what has happened over the past three years. Since Busch’s last win in the Cup Series, Hamlin has won 12 races, and now needs just one more trip to victory lane to tie for career Cup Series wins.

Given Busch’s declining performance and some of the public’s frustration towards former teammates and current crew members, he may not even have the options he is entitled to next year after his contract expires.

“I was sick” – defender regrets missing Crystal Palace and Tottenham transfers; hurt hell since then

Defender Per Schuurs has revealed the worst period of his career and how it ruined his move to Crystal Palace and Tottenham Hotspur.

In an emotional interview with De Telegraph, The 26-year-old describes a two-year battle with pain, uncertainty and mental collapse, and how he is now finally seeing his way back.

Crystal Palace and Tottenham efforts

Per Schuurs is currently a free agent after leaving Torino in February. That departure followed two years of injury. He previously spent 286 days out due to a cruciate ligament injury in October 2024 and is currently on 618 days out after knee surgery.

Before the latest problem, he was one of Serie A’s most sought-after defenders. After impressing at Torino, he left a number of Premier League clubs giving him tough competition. This included Crystal Palace and Tottenham.

“I reached a five-year contract with Inter in the summer, but the club could not reach an agreement with Torino,” he said.

“Crystal Palace and Tottenham Hotspur also wanted to trade and pay more. They offered €35m, Inter offered 30m. While Torino demanded at least €40m. A standoff occurred. This also played a part in the background. I was sick of not making a transfer. In fact, still am,”

injury nightmare

Two months later, Per Schuurs suffered an injury that changed everything. The knee injury, despite injury, has created a medical mystery that has baffled experts across Europe.

“Everything seemed to be going well, but after a week I had a reaction on the outside of my knee,” he said.

“I was dying of pain. Instead of four weeks, I walked on crutches for four months. That’s when all the alarm bells rang. I saw the best orthopedic specialists in England, France, Italy and the Netherlands. But the reason for the complaints was not found.”

This made the guard sad. Not only had he missed out on big steps forward at Crystal Palace and Tottenham, but his career was now on the decline.

He admitted, “I had fallen from the pinnacle of my career and the most beautiful phase of my personal life into the deepest abyss of which I did not even know.”

“This manifested as crying and extreme anger. One evening, when I really couldn’t take it anymore, I said to my girlfriend: Sleep well and I hope I don’t wake up again. I never thought about ending my life.”

focus on return

Now the defender is back on the road to recovery. He can see the light at the end of the tunnel and is hoping to create a redemption arc for the movies.

He concluded, “I would prefer to lie in bed with the curtains closed.”

“I was amazed at the person I had become; I had not been the same for two years. I have been pain free for weeks now and am feeling better and better. I want to come back the most beautiful I have ever been.

“I’m concentrating on being in top shape until the end of June. Then I’ll start looking for a club. When I think about it, I have tears in my eyes. On the other hand, it’s painful that it’s a dream.”
