“Being left out hurts” – Nottingham Forest star handles disappointment with mature response

nottingham forest Striker Igor Jesus has publicly reacted to his omission from Brazil’s squad for the World Cup. The tone of his response is already attracting attention in Brazil.

The 24-year-old was included in Carlo Ancelotti’s preliminary 55-man list after a strong season in England. However, he was ultimately left out of the final 26-man squad announced this week.

Instead, Ancelotti chose Brentford’s Igor Thiago and Andric, now at Lyon, as his centre-forward options.

Instead of remaining silent after disappointment, Igor Jesus addressed the situation directly on their instagram.

“It’s sad to miss the World Cup, but God wanted the best for me, and what was lost cannot be compared to what is still to come.”

Strong season but no place in World Cup

Igor Jesus’ campaign at Nottingham Forest has been one of the more surprising success stories. This is one of the best Brazilian forwards in the Premier League this season.

He scored 16 goals in 52 appearances after arriving from Botafogo and started the year behind Chris Wood in the starting pecking order.

Over time, he forced his way into the team and became one of Forest’s most important attacking players.

The striker himself recently admitted that he struggled badly with his physical jump after moving to England. in one Interview with TNT Sports Brazilhe said he felt “Years Back” Physically when he first arrived he was able to overcome the strength and pace of Premier League defenders.

Nevertheless, he adapted quickly and finished the campaign among the most productive Brazilian forwards in England. That form propelled him into the Brazilian competition.

Igor Jesus had worked under Ancelotti once before. He also received opportunities with previous managers in 2024, and scored once in four appearances during that period.

Because of this, his absence from the final World Cup list has become one of the more debated decisions in Brazil following the announcement.

Positive response seen in Brazil

Part of the reaction around Igor Jesus has less to do with frustration and more to do with how he handled it publicly.

In similar situations many players either disappear completely or post bitter messages after being kicked out. Igor Jesus instead chose a calmer tone.

“A boy’s dream lives in the mind of a man who does not care about time. He only dreams of achieving it.” He said. “I wish my teammates all the best and I will support them.”

A touch of class from the striker. Missing out on the World Cup will obviously sting, especially after Igor Jesus had thrown himself into real contention during the season.

At the same time, the broader picture of the forest remains encouraging.

Jesus has increased his value considerably in the last year, Recently clubs such as Juventus and Porto have shown interest in himAnd established themselves in one of the toughest leagues in Europe.

The World Cup dream may have been shattered but its path is still upward.

NFL executive suggests Philadelphia Eagles could dump Jalen Hurts in 2027

The Philadelphia Eagles are expected to trade AJ Brown this summer in an effort to make further changes to the offense. However, if the unit again does not live up to expectations, some believe Jalen Hurts could be the next position.

An AFC executive speaking to ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler suggested the Eagles could move on from Hurts after the 2026 NFL season.

“The player is becoming polarized, and as his running ability begins to decline, his value will also decline [Eagles general manager Howie Roseman] Will always be active to find solutions.”

  • Jalen Hurts Contract (Spottrack): $31.971 million cap hit in 2026, $42.132 million cap hit in 2027, $47.549 million cap hit in 2028

Hurts, a second-team All-Pro in 2022 and Super Bowl LVIII MVP, has faced increasing scrutiny in Philadelphia. Earlier this offseason, Fowler and ESPN’s Tim McManus released an in-depth story detailing the friction in the Eagles’ locker room and the issues and questions surrounding the star quarterback.

Many around the league saw the leak from the Eagles organization as an indirect way of sending a message to Hurts. The coaching staff and front office want to see both improved play and leadership from him in 2026, as well as a willingness to work within the design of the offense.

It looks like Howie Roseman is giving himself a little flexibility at quarterback for a long time. The Eagles used the 178th overall pick in the 2026 NFL Draft on developmental quarterback prospect Cole Payton. The coaching staff also remains high on former 2023 sixth-round pick Tanner McKee.

If the Eagles want to move on from Hearts in 2027, they will have to pay a heavy financial cost. Even the post-June 1 trade designation, which would be used to land the Browns this summer, would leave a dead cap hit of $30.756 million in 2027 and $54.478 million the following year.

However, the organisation’s growing dissatisfaction with Hearts has become more evident within the past year. Although it’s still unlikely that Philadelphia will move on from the Super Bowl-winning quarterback a year from now, it appears that it is an option that is being considered.

“Hurts” – Arsenal players ‘very disappointed and angry’ with injury

Norway boss Stel Solbakken is unhappy with Arsenal star Martin Odegaard’s injury problems.

The midfielder last made an appearance in Arsenal’s derby win over Tottenham Hotspur on February 22 and has been sidelined with a knee injury.

He is struggling with injuries and fitness. To put this into context, the 27-year-old is now out of action with his fifth injury of the season.

This caused him to miss 121 days and 22 matches for Mikel Arteta’s side since the start of the campaign, limiting his minutes and appearances.

  • Matches in all competitions: 27
  • Minutes in all competitions: 1,405
  • Premier League matches: 20
  • PL start: 13
  • PL minutes per game: 54

Earlier this month, Sport Witness Covered claims from Norway That the condition of his injury is causing concern.

He suffered his second injury of the season in October, just before the international break that month. This ruled him out for 53 days, causing him to miss the national team’s three World Cup qualifiers in October and November.

The Arsenal star last made an appearance for his country in September 2025.

daily newspaper Now let’s cover Odegaard’s knee problem. He has also spoken to Solbakken to discuss his injury situation.

Concern about Arsenal player’s knee

The national team manager says it is sad not to trust the former Real Madrid player in the last three international breaks. The player is also disappointed with his situation.

“He is very disappointed and irritable. He has not been involved since the 11-1 defeat to Moldova. This is his last international match. He was not on the field against Israel, Estonia or Italy. It is clear that it hurts.” He said.

Odegaard, who has been struggling with a knee problem, missed the last two international breaks due to the problem.

Asked if there was any ‘link’ between the two injuries, Solbakken said: “I don’t really know.”

Over the weekend, Arteta said it could take several weeks for the Gunners captain to regain full fitness.

Solbakken has shared his opinion about when the Norway international could return. He also ruled out the possibility of Odegaard joining the national team camp in Oslo.

“It’s now three weeks until Arsenal play again. Or 2.5 weeks. I think staying in the team could be a goal for Martin. It’s within reach,” He added.

“There’s no reason for him to travel now. He has to train. If he wants to use a day off to come here, he’s welcome to do so. But it’s not something that was planned.”

Norway fixtures for March international break

  • friendly vs netherlands [away] on 27th March
  • friendly vs switzerland [home] on 31st march

With Edgard missing out on these fixtures, Solbakken is expected to play some matches with Arsenal this season.

This will definitely help Norway for the World Cup. They need the midfielder to be firing on all engines ahead of tournaments this summer, and the Gunners star will be hoping he can take a Premier League title medal with him.

There has to be a balance between what is best for the London club at the moment and putting Odegaard in the best position for the tournament.

Philadelphia Eagles trade for 3x Pro Bowl QB as backup to Jalen Hurts

Entering the offseason, there was some talk that backup Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Tanner McKee could emerge as a popular trade candidate. After all, many teams were in need of a new starting QB when the offseason began. Many of those spots are filled, though the Cardinals and Steelers could still use more competition.

The Eagles could still trade the 26-year-old McKee, who is entering the final year of his rookie contract. However, after seeing Philadelphia’s third-string quarterback, Sam Howell, sign with the Cowboys, the Eagles were also in need of another third-string QB.

On Wednesday, they filled their need by trading for Andy Dalton from the Panthers. The Eagles agreed to send a 2027 seventh-round pick to Carolina in exchange for the three-time Pro Bowl QB.

The 38-year-old Dalton brings 169 games of starting experience to Philadelphia, where he will be joining his sixth NFL team. Dalton will use what he has learned in 15 NFL seasons to help Hurts and McKee prepare for their next opponent on a weekly basis. Having made at least one start in each of the last 15 years, Dalton is always ready to step up at a moment’s notice.

Barring another move, Dalton will likely step in as the Eagles’ QB3 behind Hurts and McKee. Still, he could be one of the most capable QB3s in the NFL in 2026. For the low price of a future seventh-round pick, that type of protection is worth the price.

Former TNA star reveals company’s cost-effective pay strategy that hurts wrestlers

Steph De Lander and her husband Mance Warner have officially parted ways with TNA Wrestling. In an interview with Shawn Ross Sapp for Fightful, De Lander lifted the curtain on the financial and logistical frustrations that led to his sudden exit.

The former TNA star revealed that the majority of the TNA roster is no longer on a traditional salary. This is due to their transition to a “pay-per-appearance” model, which leaves talent vulnerable to sudden scheduling changes.

De Lander explained that under the current management structure, wrestlers only get paid when they appear and are used at tapings. This “day rate” system can lead to financial instability if the artist is left out of the loop or if tapings are infrequent.

De Lander said that although some long-working talent may still be on old salary-based contracts, the new standard at the company is a lack of guaranteed income. This is something that can cause problems.

“As far as I’m aware, most talent are not on salary. They’re on pay-per-appearance, which basically means if you book for the day, you get paid whatever your rate is… It’s not a traditional weekly salary pay check. If they don’t book you you could go for months without getting paid,” De Lander said.

The final breakthrough for the couple reportedly came during preparation for the upcoming TNA Sacrifice and Impact tapings in New Orleans, scheduled for March 27–28 at the Alario Center. De Lander revealed that he and Warner were initially booked for both days, but received an email at the last minute informing them that they only needed one day. Because independent wrestlers often plan their months around these dates and refuse outside bookings in order to remain available to TNA, such changes can have a financial impact.

“Even for the next week’s taping in New Orleans, we were told we were on both of those… then I got an email that we were only needed for one day. That was part of the thing that made me think like, ‘Okay… I’m unbooked for one day,’ which again also means you’re not getting paid for one of those days,” she continued.
