Logan Webb placed on injured list with knee injury

The San Francisco Giants’ rotation is another area of concern. Logan Webb was sent to the 15-day injured list Saturday afternoon due to bursitis in his right knee. The move is retroactive to Wednesday.

Webb sat out his most recent start on Tuesday due to knee soreness, throwing just four innings before exiting the game. He allowed six runs, raising his ERA to 5.06. This shows how disappointing 2026 has been so far for the right-handed batsman.

His metrics have been equally poor this performance, posting below-average marks in everything except his fastball run value (70th percentile). The run value of his offspeed pitches has declined drastically, from the 98th percentile in 2025 to 38th this year.

It’s not all bad. To be fair to Webb, some of it has been bad luck. His xERA is half a run lower than his actual ERA, with his 4.57 xERA compared to his 5.06 actual mark. But it doesn’t get much better for a pitcher who has long been viewed as one of the best in the National League.

The Giants have been struggling lately, and the loss of Webb doesn’t help matters any despite their recent difficulties. He should not be out for too long, recovery from knee bursitis usually takes 1-2 weeks. Hopefully, the stint on the IL will help Webb reset for the remainder of the season.

What replaces the web?

In the same move, Trevor McDonald was recalled from Triple-A. He has performed well in recent seasons and continues to have confidence in the Giants’ young players to step up this year. He was called up to start last week against the San Diego Padres and held the club to just one run on two hits in seven complete innings. He showed a lot of promise and dismissed seven batsmen in the beginning itself.

This player has performed brilliantly when called up to the big league level in the past. McDonald has a 1.44 ERA in 25 innings. But it’s been a completely different story in the minors. The right-hander has had an ERA over 5.00 in each of the last two seasons (5.31, 2025; 5.40, 2026). The lack of consistency has created a hesitation in the front office to trust McDonald’s production.

Regardless, he will get some opportunities to pitch until Webb returns. It’s possible he could displace one of the current pitchers in the rotation if he performs well enough. This may force someone else out when the web returns. That could be Adrian Houser or Tyler Mahle, both of whom have struggled bravely In his first season with San Francisco.

Flyers announcer seemingly calls for injured Hurricanes goaltender

The Carolina Hurricanes are no strangers to the heated competition of the Stanley Cup Playoffs, nor are they unfamiliar with the vice grip-like pressure of their opponents’ passionate fan bases. However, Saturday was a step into uncharted territory with an in-depth statement from an unexpected source.

On May 2, immediately after Game 1, a new episode of NBC Sports Philadelphia’s podcast, flyers talkBroadcast. In it, Flyers television play-by-play announcer Jim Jackson, Flyers reporter and host Ashlyn Sullivan, and reporter Jordan Hall reflect on the opening second-round series with the Hurricanes, and discuss what will be needed in the upcoming games.

However, to Jackson, a taboo topic was brought up that sounded like a call to injure Hurricanes goaltender Frederick Anderson.

Jackson said, “You have to get into Freddy Andersen’s grill; he’s not a goaltender who likes that stuff – he also gets injured by contact.” “I’m not saying ‘Go ahead, try to hurt him’, but if there is physical contact, there’s a possibility he could get hurt.”

However, despite an apparent effort to clear it up, he appeared to repeat the previous statement moments later.

“He’s one of those goaltenders that you want to take out of his game any way you can, and if he gets hurt, that’s OK – because he has a history of injuries, and he has a history of struggling a little bit in the playoffs when he gets off track a little bit.

“So, I think the Flyers are going to have to put in a little more effort to get him to that point.”

Physicality has always been a part of hockey, and especially so in the postseason, but it would seem that the suggestion of getting hurt by people with such a respected position is a bit unprecedented.

One Hurricanes fan analyzed, “It seems they don’t believe their team is good enough to beat the Canes and the only way they have is to intentionally make contact with Freddy and injure him.” “When someone makes a statement like that and then tries to soften it with a “but” you know what he’s expecting.”

“It’s crazy that he, a “professional”, thought that; but especially, he said it out loud,” said another.

“There is a former Flyer who will punish this behavior,” another fan said, referencing enforcer and grinder Nicolas Deslauriers, whom the Hurricanes acquired at the trade deadline.

Seriously, it’s a shame anyone would shed light on injury-related strategies, it’s something that has become all too common outside of the media and in the dark corners of sports fans, and as such, it’s no surprise that such ideas have made their way into the mainstream.

Perhaps this is less the result of passionate fans amid bitter postseason rivalries, and more a symptom of the times – a streak of darkness that society has allowed into its hearts and minds due to the toxic nature that has become common in the digital age.

Hopefully, there will be no wrongdoing in this dilemma – for either party.

Big change in WrestleMania 42 match, WWE legend returns in place of injured star

It looks like Nikki Bella will not be cleared to compete at WrestleMania 42: Night 1. However, a new rumor reveals a replacement that longtime WWE fans will love.

Three weeks earlier, on an episode of SmackDown, Bella injured her ankle in a tag match with her sister Brie against two WrestleMania 42 opponents, Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss. After the show, it was reported that the injury was not minor, and his availability for this weekend’s show was up in the air.

Well, on Friday, PW Insider is not cleared to participate in the Women’s Tag Team Title match also featuring Bayley and Lyra Valkyria and defending champions Irresistible Forces (Nia Jax and Lash Legend). However, while Nikki is out of the match, her sister is reportedly staying in. But will she be competing alone?

No, Bella will have a mysterious partner. The outlet also revealed that none other than Paige, aka Saraya in AEW, will be making her grand return to WWE on Saturday night for the first time since retiring from the company due to a neck injury in 2018.

PW Insider’s Mike Johnson wrote, “Sarayah Jade-Beavis, better known as Paige during her original tenure with the company, has signed to return as a wrestler for World Wrestling Entertainment and is expected to return to the ring as part of WrestleMania 42 this weekend.”

After ending his wrestling career at just 26 years old, Page worked as an interviewer and host for WWE until his contract expires in the summer of 2022. A few months later, she would end her retirement and return to the ring for AEW. She would go on to win the top women’s title.

Canadiens preview: Injured players returning, possible new lines

The Montreal Canadiens (45-22-10) will face the Florida Panthers (37-37-3) on Tuesday, with puck drop scheduled for 7 p.m. ET.

This will be the third and final time these teams face each other this year, with the Canadiens currently holding a 2–0 lead in games won. They defeated the Panthers 3–2 in late December, as well as 6–2 in early January, however, it should be noted that veteran netminder Samuel Montebault started both games.

He is no longer considered a starter in Montreal, having been taken over by the more promising play of rookie netminders Jacob Fowler and Jacob Dobbs.

Given that Fowler started Sunday night’s game against the New Jersey Devils, we’re expecting his counterpart to face the Panthers on Tuesday night.

The 24-year-old Dobbs is on a five-game winning streak with his last loss coming on March 19 against the Detroit Red Wings. It’s also worth noting that he has stopped 171 out of 179 shots in the last five games.

As for the Panthers, they will have to make do without Matthew Tkachuk, who will be with his wife as they await the birth of their child.

Lineup Changes

It’s likely we’ll see some significant lineup changes for the Canadiens, as both Kirby Dach and Alexandre Texier are very close to returning to action. According to Anthony Martino, they will be in uniform, which will force head coach Martin St-Louis to make some important roster decisions before puck drop.

Dach played on the first line for a spell, but it’s unlikely St.-Louis will want to break up one of the best trios in the NHL again. There is a legitimate possibility that he will place Dach in the second row, although it remains to be seen whether it will be on the wing or in the centre.

If Saint-Louis wants to use Dach as a winger, there is a chance that Alex Newhook could be moved from the second row, although this would be a difficult decision to accept as he has been playing quite well since recovering from his ankle injury.

As for Texier, if he plays, he will likely be slotted into a bottom six role, with Joe Velano and Brendan Gallagher being the players who will likely make way for his presence.

Ideally, the pairing of Zach Bolduc and Jake Evans remains intact, as it has been one of Montreal’s best combinations during their push for the playoffs.

We will update the projected Canadiens lineup with new information as it becomes available.

Montreal Canadiens Projected Lineup

Fowler starts, injured skaters not ready

The Montreal Canadiens (43-21-10) will face the New York Rangers (31-35-9) on Thursday night, with puck drop scheduled for 7 p.m. ET.

This will be the third and last time these teams will face each other, with Rangers having won both the previous matches. They were relatively close games, with New York emerging with wins 4–3 in October and 5–4 in December. A lot has changed since then. The Canadiens are close to qualifying for the playoffs, while the Rangers were the second team to be officially eliminated from playoff contention.

As far as Thursday’s meeting is concerned, we can expect another high-scoring affair from the Habs. With 3.31 goals per game (all situations), the Canadiens are third in the NHL in G/PG, while the Rangers are a bottom-12 team in goals allowed (3.09). That being said, the Canadiens are also allowing roughly the same amount of goals per game, a good reminder that the team needs to strengthen its defensive game before the playoffs begin.

Goals are fun, and comebacks are entertaining, but a seven-game series is an entirely different animal. Defensive opponents are quickly taken advantage of.

Lineup Changes

Rookie netminder Jacob Fowler will face the Rangers looking for their third straight win. It should also be noted that Fowler and Jacob Dobbs both now have save percentages above .900, a complete reversal in goaltending fortunes in Montreal. The first-year goaltenders deserve a lot of credit, but the team’s new goaltending guru Marco Marciano also deserves credit.

Since Marciano’s arrival, the numbers have continued to improve, to the point where it would be fair to suggest that hiring him in Montreal could have saved the season.

Three injured players took the ice Thursday morning, but Kirby Dach, Alexandre Carrier and Alexandre Texier are not expected to be in uniform as the Canadiens take on the Rangers.

Montreal Canadiens Projected Lineup

Cole Coffield – Nick Suzuki – Juraj Slafkowski

The worry is that injured Tottenham player is doubtful for the World Cup – a long-term hamstring absence could be seen

Rodrigo Bentancur
Udine, Italy – August 13, 2025:

During the UEFA Super Cup
Paris Saint-Germain vs. Tottenham Hotspur at the Stadio Friuli.

Uruguay are concerned about the injury to Tottenham Hotspur’s Rodrigo Bentancur, who is pushing for a place in Marcelo Bielsa’s squad for the World Cup.

The midfielder last made an appearance for Tottenham in a 3–2 league defeat against AFC Bournemouth on 7 January. He suffered a hamstring injury in the same tie, which forced him to go under the knife.

Bentancur has been on the sidelines since then, meaning he did not play under Igor Tudor, who replaced Thomas Frank in February.

Spurs faced a difficult period under Tudor [one point in the league] And earlier this week appointed Roberto De Zerbi as his successor.

On March 13, Game Witness broadcast news The Uruguay international was 15 days further into his rehabilitation. The same source indicated that he could return to the field with Tottenham at the end of April.

Fresh injuries cause concern for Tottenham and Uruguay

espn sports There is a report on the players that Marcelo Bielsa could select for the World Cup.

Some have to ensure their place because of their position under the manager while some still have to struggle.

Real Madrid’s Federico Valverde, Manchester United’s Manuel Ugarte, and Flamengo’s Giorgio de Arrascaeta are all untouchable in midfield. Flamengo’s Nicolás de la Cruz and Rodrigo Bentancur also have the same status.

However, the 28-year-old has been ruled out of the game due to injury and is ‘doubtful for the World Cup’.

This indicates that he will not be ready before the start of the tournament in June, meaning he will not be able to feature again for Tottenham Hotspur this season.

Bielsa speaks to journalists after Tuesday’s draw against Algeria montevideo Has released his comments. The manager says his plans may change depending on the situation.

“Plans are one thing, and reality is another; sometimes they collide,” He said.

“Maximiliano Araújo had not made his debut in three years, and those mentioned, such as Ronald Araújo, Rodrigo Bentancur, Nicolás de la Cruz and Darwin Núñez, are players who have faced different situations

“Bentencur suffered a long-term injury and is currently recovering. Darwin has not played competitively for some time, and de la Cruz is a player who was important during Uruguay’s best times and now he is trying to find his form and become a starter for Flamengo, which is what we want. There are always nuances in the plans that arise from reality.”

What’s next for Bentencur?

Roberto De Zerbi’s immediate task is to help Tottenham Hotspur avoid relegation. They are unlikely to be able to rely on Rodrigo Bentancur and the chances of using him this season now seem slim.

The South American has played 2,072 minutes in 28 matches for the Premier League side this season. De Zerbi could see a role for himself next season, if it is not one of the areas he wants to bring his choice to.

MLB umpire CB Buckner injured, out of Rays-Brewers game

MLB umpire CB Buckner was injured during the Tampa Bay Rays and Milwaukee Brewers game on Wednesday afternoon. In the second inning, an errant tip from Nick Fortes’ bat hit Buckner in the mask. The umpire fell to the ground and was late attended to by medical trainers.

The Brewers’ starting pitcher Jakub Misiorowski threw a 100 mph fastball, and Fortes sent it into Buckner’s mask on a direct hit. Chad Fairchild took over behind the plate in Buckner’s place. Thankfully, the 63-year-old eventually walked off the field and into the clubhouse.

It has been a difficult start to the 2026 MLB season for Buckner, who has been the subject of criticism due to his ball-strike calls. Buckner, who has been an MLB umpire since the 1996 season, has one of the worst results in MLB’s new ABS challenge system. In fact, six of the eight challenges against Buckner were overturned during the Boston Red Sox and Cincinnati Reds game.

Most notably, Buckner was in the news for his call during the Rays-Brewers game on Tuesday night. Buckner was serving as the first-base umpire when he threw out Jake Bauers on an infield single for not touching the bag in the sixth inning.

Replays clearly showed Bauer touching the top of the bag and the call was overturned. Rays manager Kevin Cash and Brewers manager Pat Murphy were smiling during the delay. It was a shocking call, but the Brewers were able to right the wrong with a challenge.

Buckner hasn’t been in the headlines for the right reasons to start 2026; However, his health is the top priority after suffering a facial injury on Wednesday. Hopefully, Buckner escaped serious injury.

Carrier injured, Dobbs starts vs. Lightning

The Montreal Canadiens (42-21-10) face the Tampa Bay Lightning (46-21-6) on Tuesday night, with puck drop scheduled for 7 p.m. ET.

This will be the third time these two teams will face each other, with the Lightning having won both the previous matches. Montreal lost 6–1 in early December, and while the Habs offered a much better effort in the next meeting, they still dropped a 5–4 decision in late December.

Simply put, Tampa Bay is the type of team that fits Montreal. As things stand, if the playoffs started today, the Canadiens would face the Buffalo Sabres, but there’s also a good chance they would face the Lightning in the first round of the playoffs, depending on how the final stretch of the season unfolds.

Lineup Changes

Jacob Dobbs is set to start against Tampa Bay, and will be aiming to win his fourth game in a row, a continuation of the excellent results that led to him being named the first Star of the Week in the NHL.

As for the rest of the lineup, the Habs announced that defenseman Alex Carrier will miss between two to four weeks due to an upper body injury, which explains why they recalled Adam Engstrom from the Laval Rocket (AHL).

Engstrom, 24, can play on the left or right side, and is clearly Laval’s most productive defender. He’s also the most NHL-ready player on the farm, and calling up David Rickenbacker would have been interesting, but throwing anyone to the wolves at this point in the NHL season is foolish. Ultimately Rickenbacker’s time will come.

That being said, Engstrom is not expected to play on Tuesday. Instead, Arbor Zekaj practiced with Caden Guhle, giving us a pretty good indication of the potential defensive pairing, and ending his one-game experiment as a fourth-line forward.

“When he’s ready…” – Manager offers good and bad news about injured Arsenal player

martin odegaard

Stel Solbakken says Arsenal’s Martin Odegaard is progressing but the manager is unsure of his return date.

The 27-year-old was substituted off the bench in Arsenal’s 4–1 win over Tottenham Hotspur on 22 February.

He has since been sidelined with a knee injury and Solbakken had to leave the Arsenal star out of his squad for this international break.

Earlier this month, Sport Witness Covered Claims From Norway that his condition is causing concern for the national team. The World Cup is approaching and now is the time to start worrying.

The former Real Madrid player has often struggled with injuries this season. This caused him to miss matches not only for the Gunners but also for his country. He has not appeared for Norway since September.

last week, the manager said Odegaard is clearly not happy with his injury situation.

Arsenal players are making progress

daily newspaper Ståle Solbakken was contacted again for an update on Martin Odegaard’s progress after his recovery from the shock.

The national team boss confirmed that he has connected with the player via SMS and is sharing the current status of his recovery.

“I haven’t talked to him. But we’ve texted a little bit. The most important thing is that he’s making progress.” He said.

Ahead of the international break, Mikel Arteta said the Norway international should return to the field in a few weeks.

The newspaper has now asked the manager exclusively if the Arsenal man could return after Easter [April 5th].

Responding to that, Solbakken explained: “When he’ll be ready, I don’t know. But it’s good progress.”

Meanwhile, Crystal Palace striker Jorgen Strand Larsson hopes Odegaard will be in top shape for the World Cup.

“Definitely, we should have kept him here. Like everyone, he knows his body best. There’s a lot going on about his injury situation. We need to prepare him for the World Cup. He’s probably using the time well to get ready for it,” He added.

Norway fixtures and results for the March international break

  • 2–1 defeat to Netherlands on 27 March
  • Friendly vs Switzerland on 31 March

Martin Odegaard’s situation is certainly worrying for both his club and country. Mikel Arteta can only hope for his quick return to help Arsenal in their title challenge.

If that were the case, it would help him enjoy minutes, which could also benefit Norway for the World Cup.

Fulham player is injured – further tests are underway in London

fulham

Fulham’s Kelvin Bassey will miss Nigeria’s matches this month after suffering a concussion.

The centre-back will return to London to work on his recovery with the Premier League team.

Fulham signed him from Ajax for €21m in July 2023 and he has been a regular since then.

The 26-year-old has made 94 appearances for Marco Silva’s side so far and logged 2,018 minutes across 25 matches this season.

Bassi’s statistics per game from the Premier League are as follows:

  • Intercept: 0.7
  • Tackle: 2.0
  • Clearance: 3.5
  • Ball recovered: 4.0
  • Dribbled past: 0.3
  • Duel won: 4.9

The player has been a regular for the national team since moving to Fulham and has been called up by Nigeria manager Eric Chele for the current international break.

Lack of clarity over Fulham man’s injury

Nigerian Football Association took it xThe former took to Twitter to confirm the shock death of Fulham defender Kelvin Bassey. Trabzonspor’s Chibuike Navivu will replace him in the squad to face Iran later today.

The post also includes a creative which shows Nwaivu ‘in’ and Bassey ‘out’ and it is ‘due to injury’. There has been no further communication regarding the former Ajax man’s failure.

In other words, the Nigerian FA has not provided any information on the nature of the injury, how he suffered the blow and how long he may be out for. your target nigeria are reporting that his withdrawal was due to a back injury.

Bassi also needs to regain fitness soon if he wants to make a move in the summer. At the start of the season, his club teammates, Kenny Tete said Fulham is not his final destination.

Dobbs makes another start, Anderson injured

The Montreal Canadiens (37-20-10) will face the Detroit Red Wings (37-23-8) on Thursday night, with puck drop scheduled for 7 p.m. ET.

This will be the third and final meeting between these Atlantic Division teams in the regular season, with both teams having split the previous two games. The Canadiens dominated the Red Wings 5–1 in early October, while Detroit bounced back with a 4–0 shutout win in January.

More importantly, this will be a game that will have significant playoff implications, as Detroit and Montreal are separated by just two points in the Eastern Conference playoff race, although it should be noted that the Habs have a game in hand.

As things stand, Montreal’s playoff chances are around 85%, while Detroit’s are just under 69%. In other words, no team is comfortable enough to tolerate poor performance.

Given that Thursday’s game is so important, the Canadiens have decided to give rookie netminder Jacob Dobbs another kick. He had an excellent performance in Montreal’s 3-2 win over the Boston Bruins on Tuesday, stopping 26 of 28 shots to secure the win.

If Dobbs wins, he will officially tie Canadiens legend Patrick Roy with 23 wins in his rookie season, quite a feat when we consider he had to share his net with two other netminders. For the record, Roy needed 47 games to reach 23 wins, while this would be Dobbs’ 34th appearance of the season.

Beyond the netminder, head coach Martin Saint-Louis will have to make some modifications to his forward lines, as Josh Anderson is currently listed as day-to-day (upper-body-injury) and will be forced to miss the game against the Red Wings.

It remains to be seen who will replace Andersen in the lineup, however, as injured forward Patrik Laine is not expected to play. In all likelihood, Joe Veleno, who hasn’t played since early February, will be facing the same team that drafted him in 2018.

The Red Wings are also dealing with injury issues, as Dylan Larkin, Michael Rasmussen, Andrew Copp and Michael Brandsegg-Nygaard are currently unavailable, with the latter getting closer to a return to action, and could be a late addition to Detroit’s roster on Thursday.

Injured Joel Embiid joins Nikola Jokic after Nuggets game

On Tuesday evening, the Philadelphia 76ers returned to the loss column with a blowout road loss at the hands of the Denver Nuggets. The 76ers were playing without several key players, including big man Joel Embiid, who remained out of the lineup due to injury.

However, Embiid was present on the sidelines at Ball Arena, and after the game, he shared a good moment With fellow Nuggets MVP big man Nikola Jokic.

Embiid and Jokic have long been viewed as the two best centers on the NBA landscape, and fans have been frustrated by the lack of a head-to-head matchup between the two former MVPs. In fact, Embiid hasn’t played a game in Denver since the 2019-20 season, having been injured at that time of year every season since then.

Meanwhile, the 76ers recently slipped to ninth place in the Eastern Conference amid the Atlanta Hawks’ 10-game winning streak, and it’s unclear when Embiid will be ready to return to the court. The 76ers are still dealing with the absence of Paul George due to league suspension, as well as Tyrese Maxey, who is out with a finger injury.

At this point, it’s highly unlikely that the 76ers could realistically fall further than tenth place in the Eastern Conference, meaning they would be at worst heading into the play-in tournament. However, in a season that started with so much promise, it is certainly disappointing for Philadelphia fans to see things fall apart due to injuries once again.

The 76ers will next take the court on Thursday evening as they look to get back into the win column against the Sacramento Kings.

Dach injured, Caufield reaches 40, Reinbacher

Here are the Montreal Canadiens news items, stories and content you may have missed Tuesday.

montreal canadiens news

It’s official! Cole Caufield is the first Canadiens player to reach 40 goals since Vincent Damphousse in 1993–94. Caufield scored the overtime winner against the Boston Bruins to secure two very important points in the playoff race. [Canadiens Highlights: Caufield Hits 40 In Crucial Win]

Speaking of Caufield, when asked what comes next after 40 he had a great response.

It should be noted that Caufield is now just one goal behind Jack Hughes for most goals scored by any player drafted in 2019, despite having played 62 fewer games than the New Jersey Devils forward.

More unfortunate news on the injury front is that Kirby Dach will miss two to four weeks with an upper body injury. Dach was forced to leave Sunday’s game after contact with Anaheim Ducks forward Jeffrey Wiel. With Dach out of commission, Zachary Bolduc returned to the lineup before the game against the Boston Bruins. [Canadiens Preview: Dobes Faces Bruins, Dach Injured]

It’s very easy to blame goaltending for all of Montreal’s problems this year, but the truth is that the Canadiens allow too many high-danger chances while creating too few to balance out their poor defensive play. Tottenham star says injured XI could be better than available players

Tottenham Hotspur’s Pedro Porro says it is difficult to train and play with only ’13-14 players’ in the Premier League.

Igor Tudor’s side travel to Spain to face Atletico Madrid in the Champions League last 16 on Tuesday. The return leg will take place in North London next week.

Ahead of tomorrow’s match, the right-back gave an interview radio markaLa Tribu to assess the situation at Tottenham and their poor performance in the Premier League.

Spurs performed well in the Champions League group stage, winning five of their eight matches and losing one. This left them fourth in the table behind Arsenal, Bayern Munich and Liverpool.

However, the north London club has failed to replicate their European form in the Premier League. Spurs have won seven from 29 league matches and are now in 16th, one point above the relegation zone.

Tottenham’s main concerns

Radio Marca asked Porro why English clubs have performed well in Europe and so poorly in the Premier League.

While reacting to that, the 26-year-old cited injuries to several players as the main reason.

“It’s difficult, because when you’re competing in four competitions in these conditions… we already had a bad experience in the Premier League last year with so many injured players, and you can’t compete,” He said.

“We have young players who are performing strongly, and looking at this season, it’s basically the same. You’re going to play against Arsenal, City, Liverpool, or Chelsea, and you can’t do that.”

The Spain international even said that the current injured players could be stronger than the fit players.

“We can field a starting XI of injured players that could be even stronger than the XI that is currently playing. And this is not to disrespect anyone, but that is basically the reality.” Poro explained.

“We have to think and maintain a positive mindset. I have told my teammates, it is difficult to compete like this, but we always have to give 100%, even if things are not going well in the Premier League like last year. We are going into the match with the same ambition that we have shown so far in the Champions League.”

Analysis: Poro has a point

Dejan Kulusevski has not featured for Spurs this season as he has been on the sidelines since May 2025.

Tottenham’s injury list includes the Swede, James Maddison, Mohamed Kudus, Rodrigo Bentancur, Ben Davies, Lucas Bergvall, Radu Dragusin, Wilson Odobert, Destiny Udogi and DZ Spence.

sweden manager Graham Potter said It is going to be difficult for Kulusevski and Bergvall to make room for the March international break.

Meanwhile, Micky Van de Ven will be suspended for the next league tie after being sent off against Crystal Palace last Thursday.

Draymond Green tackles Jabari Smith Jr.’s injured ankle, receives 12th technical foul

However, the Warriors maintained an 11-point lead throughout the first half. Houston mounted a comeback in the third quarter, starting with a strange play by Draymond Green and Jabari Smith Jr.

With 9:49 left in the third quarter, Smith Jr. was whistled for an offensive foul for a moving screen, which knocked Green to the floor. As he got to his feet to return to the offensive end of the field, the Warriors forward made a surprising decision pull right leg Ahead of the Rockets.

Jabari Smith Jr.’s right ankle that Draymond Green grabbed was actually the same ankle that caused Smith Jr. to miss just two games before Thursday night’s game. Smith Jr. was questionable coming into the contest due to a sprained right ankle, but was cleared to play after warm-ups.

Thursday night’s match is important for both the teams. A win for the Rockets would give them a season series victory while moving them one step closer to clinching the third seed in the Western Conference. Meanwhile, the Warriors are fighting to hold on to the eighth seed, but only have a one-game lead over the LA Clippers for that spot.

Jabari Smith Jr. is averaging 15.5 points, 6.8 rebounds and 1.8 assists in 34.8 minutes per night. In 50 appearances for the Warriors this season, Draymond Green is averaging 8.4 points, 5.6 rebounds and 5.2 assists in 26.7 minutes per night.

Shaddon Sharp injured, rest of season in doubt

The Portland Trail Blazers have played their last six games without the services of guard Shayden Sharp, and it looks like he’ll be missing more games — possibly even the rest of the 2025-26 NBA season — due to a lower-body injury.

The Blazers provided an update on the former 22-year-old Sharp via a social media post on Twitter on Tuesday.

“Trail Blazers guard Shadden Sharp continues to be treated for a left calf strain. Follow-up imaging revealed a stress reaction of the left fibula. Sharp will be reevaluated in approximately four to six weeks to allow adequate healing before beginning a progressive return to full basketball activity,” the update said.

Considering the timeline, there’s a real possibility that Sharp won’t suit up for another game for Portland this season. The Trail Blazers will have played 15 games in four weeks by the latest injury update on Sharp and seven more games in the sixth week of the timeline. Simply put, the outlook on Sharp is not great this season, as the Trail Blazers look to continue to contend for a spot in the NBA playoffs.

Sharpe last played against the Memphis Grizzlies at the Moda Center in Portland on February 6, where he suffered an injury. He left that contest in the second quarter and did not return.

The injury is a major blow for the Trail Blazers, as Sharp is one of the team’s most important players. He is second on the team in scoring so far this season, averaging 21.4 points per game, along with 4.4 rebounds and 2.6 assists per contest, while shooting 45.6 percent from the floor and 34.0 percent from behind the arc.

The update on Sharp, who was selected seventh in the first round of the 2022 NBA Draft by the Trail Blazers, further adds to Portland’s headache on the injury front, as it is also without NBA All-Star Danny Avdija at the moment due to a back injury.

That means the Trail Blazers will be without their top two scorers when they face the Minnesota Timberwolves on Tuesday night.

Robinson injured in Hurricanes practice Dons rare teal jersey, likely to play against Lightning

On Saturday morning, the Carolina Hurricanes were on the ice at Invisalign Arena. Since Tuesday – when the league allowed skating to resume after a twelve-day break – the Hurricanes have already held four practices.

Notably, Eric Robinson returned to the yellow non-contact sweater during those practices. However, on Saturday, the Hurricanes’ speedy fourth-line winger ditched the yellow jersey for a San Jose Sharks-esque teal sweater with a ‘Property of Carolina’ crest.

It’s unknown what the teal sweater represents – but it’s not yellow, which is a good sign. After practice, head coach Rod Brind’Amour discussed Robinson’s possible availability for Thursday’s game against the Tampa Bay Lightning.

“I think he would be a good choice,” he told the media. “I mean, we’re not rushing it. …At this point, it looks like he’s trending toward being ready to go.”

Robinson suffered an upper-body injury on January 19 during a matinee game against the Buffalo Sabres. Early in the game, Rasmus Dahlin threw a high-speed hip-check at him while he was stationary near the Sabers net. As he came back from the ice, he was seen holding his left shoulder and immediately left the game.

His first day back on the ice was Tuesday and he has remained as an extra forward during practice since.
