Miles McBride gets massive injury update from Mike Brown

Miles McBride has missed the last 27 games for the New York Knicks, including Tuesday night’s 121-116 win over the New Orleans Pelicans, as he recovers from sports hernia surgery. McBride was instrumental in establishing a defensive identity for the Knicks early in the season, and his absence since late January has necessitated the arrival of Jose Alvarado via trade for more guard depth.

But McBride doesn’t seem too far away from returning to action. According to head coach Mike Brown, via SNY’s Ian Begley, McBride has made progress from scrimmaging as he recovers from injury. With only a few weeks left before the playoffs begin, it will be important for McBride to get some live reps as he plays into a rotation role for the team in the postseason.

McBride is a fearless competitor who defends well and changes the tempo of the game for the Knicks with his energy, hustle and shot-making. On the season, he is averaging a career-best 12.9 points per game on 42 percent shooting from beyond the arc, and under Brown’s tutelage he has become more important to the team than ever.

The earliest date for McBride’s return is the 26th, when the Knicks take on the Charlotte Hornets on the road.

Miles McBride has become invaluable to the Knicks

McBride’s progression from spark plug off the bench to an invaluable rotation piece for the Knicks has been nothing short of incredible. New York’s play reaches a higher level whenever McBride is on the field; According to PBP stats, whenever McBride is on the court, the Knicks are more than five points better per 100 possessions than when he is not on the court.

Keeping McBride healthy and active once the playoffs begin is vital for the Knicks if they are to ultimately take over the Eastern Conference.

Ja Morant will miss the remainder of the 2025-26 season due to injury procedure

The Memphis Grizzlies will be without their top player for the remainder of the campaign as it was announced on Tuesday that Ja Morant will undergo a procedure for his elbow injury.

Morant was limited to only 20 games this season due to his elbow injury and other ailments. The Grizzlies said that while the athletic guard was making good progressThey have decided to err on the side of caution.

“After a recent consultation to advise on prolonged discomfort, it was recommended that Morant receive PRP (platelet-rich plasma) injections to further optimize ligament healing. Morant will begin to wear the elbow following the injection and will miss the remainder of the 2025-26 season, but is expected to make a full recovery before the 2026-27 season,” the team statement said.

The Grizzlies are likely to miss the playoffs with a 24-47 record, and they probably don’t see any benefit in playing the 26-year-old Morant at this point. They are 1-11 in their last 12 assignments.

Many thought Memphis would part ways with Morant at the trade deadline. However, despite numerous controversies, no deal was made, keeping him with the Grizzlies.

He averaged 19.5 points, 3.2 rebounds and 8.1 assists this season.

Over the past three campaigns, Morant has played in just 79 games combined.

Even without him, the Grizzlies are currently stacked in the backcourt, with Ty Jerome, Jaylen Wells, Walter Clayton Jr., Cam Spencer, Javon Small and Jahmai Mashek splitting minutes.

Memphis was defeated by the Atlanta Hawks 146-107 on Monday and will return to action on Wednesday against the San Antonio Spurs.

Cleveland receives positive update on Jarrett Allen’s injury amid absence

Cleveland Cavaliers head coach Kenny Atkinson provided an update on Jarrett Allen’s status on Tuesday, indicating significant progress ahead of the Wine and Gold’s meeting with the Orlando Magic for a three-game homestand.

“They’ve ramped it up over the last few days, so there’s a positive trend,” Atkinson said. “I saw him on the court yesterday, contact. I think we’re in the last stages of preparing him, so I can guess [he’ll return within] The next few games, that window.”

Allen returning to the fold would be a welcome sight for the Cavs, who have missed James Harden with his rim protection and pick-and-roll skills. He missed the last game and will not be in action against the Magic due to right knee tendinitis. Cleveland’s veteran big man suffered the injury early in the second half of the Detroit Pistons game on March 3 and has not played since.

If Atkinson’s optimism proves justified, we’ll see Allen this week.

Cavs receive another important injury update

Elsewhere on the injury front, Atkinson shared the latest news on Jaylon Tyson, who hasn’t played since the fourth quarter of the Cavs’ win over the Chicago Bulls last Thursday. The second-year swingman suffered a sprained left toe and what is now being treated as a bone bruise.

“Not long-term,” Atkinson said of the label change. “He practiced yesterday, and it was bothering him, quite honestly, so we took him out of practice. It’s an injury; definitely not long-term. I can see it being very short-term. It’s going to be a pain to bear. I hope he recovers very quickly.”

Tyson has been a big part of the Cavs’ rotation recently despite his minutes being cut back, so this is solid news regarding his troublesome toe. However, it doesn’t help their case in the current battle for more minutes, as Cleveland tries to figure out who will play the most minutes and who will be in the starting five.

Moses Moody suffers serious patellar tendon injury

Golden State Warriors wing Moses Moody has suffered a torn patellar tendon in his left knee, as first reported by ESPN’s Shams Charania.

Moody will not only miss the remainder of the 2025-26 NBA season due to this serious injury, but he will now face a lengthy rehabilitation process to resume his career. The Warriors have not yet provided an official diagnosis for Moody’s injury or a timeline for when he will ultimately undergo surgery.

The injury occurred while attempting a wide-open dunk off a steal in the fourth quarter of the Warriors’ 137-131 overtime win over the Dallas Mavericks late Monday night. While planting and preparing to jump, Moody’s left leg gave out, resulting in his body being thrown into the air and landing hard on the ground.

He immediately grabbed his left knee with a jerk as play continued for several seconds on the opposite side of the court. Medical personnel immediately came out of the court with a stretcher before helping Moody off the floor a few minutes later.

Moody is in the first year of a three-year, $37.5 million extension with the Warriors and was averaging career-highs in points (12.1), rebounds (3.3) and assists (1.6) while shooting a career-best 40.1 percent from 3-point range this season.

This is a developing story that will be updated soon.

Is Kon Knuppel playing tonight? Hornets vs Kings injury report

On Tuesday evening, the Charlotte Hornets will host the Sacramento Kings as they look to continue their home winning streak. Kon Knueppel is on the injury report for the Hornets, currently listed as probable for the game due to lower back soreness. Here’s everything we know about Knueppel’s injury and his playing status against the Kings.

Kon Knueppel’s playing status against the Kings on Tuesday

Charlotte Hornets guard Kon Knueppel (7) takes a shot before the game against the Washington Wizards at Capital One Arena.
Daniel Kussin Jr.-USA TODAY Sports

Given his probable designation on the injury report, it seems more likely that Kon Nueppel will be able to suit up for the Hornets on Tuesday against the Kings. Knueppel played in Charlotte’s last game, a home blowout over the Memphis Grizzlies, and is putting together an excellent first season in the NBA, being viewed by many as the favorite to win the Rookie of the Year award over former Duke teammate Cooper Flagg.

The Kings have a crowded injury report for this game, as Nick Clifford, Drew Eubanks, De’Andre Hunter, Zach LaVine, Keegan Murray, Domantas Sabonis and Russell Westbrook are already out with various injuries. Meanwhile, Precious Achiuwa and Killian Hayes are listed as questionable, while Dequan Plowden is likely with a sore right foot.

Overall, the Hornets are starting to move closer to the play-in standings in the Eastern Conference due to their current five-game losing streak to the Miami Heat and Orlando Magic, although their chances of finishing in the top six of the Eastern Conference are beginning to diminish as the season reaches its home stretch.

It is extremely important that Service takes care of business against tank teams like the Charlotte Kings to maintain his standing in the standings.

Tipoff for the Hornets vs. Kings matchup is scheduled for 7:00 PM ET.

Cooper Flag reacts to Moses Moody’s horrific injury

Dallas Mavericks forward Cooper Flagg was the closest player to Golden State Warriors guard Moses Moody when he suffered a horrific injury Monday at American Airlines Center.

In overtime, Moody was going up for a dunk alone when his knee twisted. The bullet missed him and he fell on the floor. Flagg was running closest to him when this horrific incident happened.

The fans applauded warmly as Moody was pulled from the floor. It was his first game back after missing 10 games with a wrist injury.

The Mavericks lost to the Warriors 137–131.

In the post-game conference, Flagg shared his initial perspective on Moody’s knee injury, while also expressing his support.

“I can’t really tell. His leg has kind of given out. But it’s hard, and I’m praying for him and everything he’s going through. It’s horrible. But yeah, just praying for him,” Flagg said in a video posted by AB Jones of DLLS Sports.

The 19-year-old Flagg finished with 32 points, four rebounds, nine assists and two steals. Meanwhile, Moody, 23, had 23 points, three rebounds, three assists, three steals and two blocks.

The Mavericks also lost a key player after Daniel Gafford left with a shoulder injury in the fourth quarter. He could be considered questionable for their game against the Denver Nuggets on Wednesday.

The flag went viral after the loss to the Warriors as fans reacted to video of the rookie sensation showing extreme confidence in Nazi Marshall’s game-winning effort.

The Mavericks suffered their fourth consecutive loss and fell to 23–49, while the Warriors improved to 34–38.

Draymond Green’s warm gesture to Moses Moody after knee injury

The Golden State Warriors suffered another painful blow when running back Moses Moody suffered a non-contact knee injury on Monday against the Dallas Mavericks.

Everyone at American Airlines Center immediately became concerned about overtime when Moody fell to the floor and caught his knee shortly after going up for an uncontested bucket. Eventually he was taken out of the court on a stretcher.

Warriors survive Mavericks, 137-131. Moody finished with 23 points, three rebounds, three assists, three steals and two blocks.

Draymond Green hugged him before Moody taken out of the venueAs shown in a video posted by Bleacher Report.

X fans appreciated Green’s heartfelt gesture.

“The mainstream sports media has spent years trying to portray Drummond as the NBA’s most toxic villain. If he really is as bad as analysts claim, why is he always the first one to step in and defend his teammates when things go wrong?” @EscrivaU21 asked.

“Moments like this remind you how fragile everything is. Showing up for your teammate in his or her worst moment is what real support looks like,” @dcique_12 said.

@BeaTrice6699 said, “Sometimes, a good hug is like an instant health potion, but with feeling.”

@Defi_ezra posted, “Tough moment. Draymond Green showing love for Moses Moody says a lot. But yeah, that injury still looked scary.”

@Rose8yd commented, “Class act on behalf of Draymond. Wishing Moody a speedy recovery.”

It’s no secret that the 36-year-old Green has had conflicts with his teammates due to his fiery personality. But many have also said that the former Defensive Player of the Year is a great guy to have on your team.

Moody just returned from a 10-game absence due to a wrist injury. Now, he’ll likely have to sit out the rest of the season with Jimmy Butler and Stephen Curry on the sidelines.

The Warriors are in 10th place in the Western Conference with a 34-38 record.

“Hurts” – Arsenal players ‘very disappointed and angry’ with injury

Norway boss Stel Solbakken is unhappy with Arsenal star Martin Odegaard’s injury problems.

The midfielder last made an appearance in Arsenal’s derby win over Tottenham Hotspur on February 22 and has been sidelined with a knee injury.

He is struggling with injuries and fitness. To put this into context, the 27-year-old is now out of action with his fifth injury of the season.

This caused him to miss 121 days and 22 matches for Mikel Arteta’s side since the start of the campaign, limiting his minutes and appearances.

  • Matches in all competitions: 27
  • Minutes in all competitions: 1,405
  • Premier League matches: 20
  • PL start: 13
  • PL minutes per game: 54

Earlier this month, Sport Witness Covered claims from Norway That the condition of his injury is causing concern.

He suffered his second injury of the season in October, just before the international break that month. This ruled him out for 53 days, causing him to miss the national team’s three World Cup qualifiers in October and November.

The Arsenal star last made an appearance for his country in September 2025.

daily newspaper Now let’s cover Odegaard’s knee problem. He has also spoken to Solbakken to discuss his injury situation.

Concern about Arsenal player’s knee

The national team manager says it is sad not to trust the former Real Madrid player in the last three international breaks. The player is also disappointed with his situation.

“He is very disappointed and irritable. He has not been involved since the 11-1 defeat to Moldova. This is his last international match. He was not on the field against Israel, Estonia or Italy. It is clear that it hurts.” He said.

Odegaard, who has been struggling with a knee problem, missed the last two international breaks due to the problem.

Asked if there was any ‘link’ between the two injuries, Solbakken said: “I don’t really know.”

Over the weekend, Arteta said it could take several weeks for the Gunners captain to regain full fitness.

Solbakken has shared his opinion about when the Norway international could return. He also ruled out the possibility of Odegaard joining the national team camp in Oslo.

“It’s now three weeks until Arsenal play again. Or 2.5 weeks. I think staying in the team could be a goal for Martin. It’s within reach,” He added.

“There’s no reason for him to travel now. He has to train. If he wants to use a day off to come here, he’s welcome to do so. But it’s not something that was planned.”

Norway fixtures for March international break

  • friendly vs netherlands [away] on 27th March
  • friendly vs switzerland [home] on 31st march

With Edgard missing out on these fixtures, Solbakken is expected to play some matches with Arsenal this season.

This will definitely help Norway for the World Cup. They need the midfielder to be firing on all engines ahead of tournaments this summer, and the Gunners star will be hoping he can take a Premier League title medal with him.

There has to be a balance between what is best for the London club at the moment and putting Odegaard in the best position for the tournament.

Moses Moody ruled out of Mavericks contest with serious leg injury

During the Golden State Warriors’ game against the Dallas Mavericks, one of their key players suffered a serious knee injury. As Warriors forward Moses Moody was going up for a breakaway dunk, the forward clutched his leg in pain. Moody was taken care of on the next dead ball and taken off the court on a stretcher.

moody Has been out of the game due to leg injury. A photo of Warriors forward Draymond Green shows a cast on his knee as he was taken off the court on a stretcher after his injury.

It’s a heartbreaking injury for Moody, who has missed the Warriors’ last 10 games with a wrist injury. Moody started this game against the Mavericks and was playing well. He led the shorthanded Warriors with 23 points and filled the stat sheet with three rebounds, three assists, three steals and two blocks.

Moody’s injury occurred in overtime at the end of the game against the Mavericks. The Warriors held a strong 136–131 lead over Dallas, and Moody’s steal would have given the lead a solid seven points as the game was winding down. The injury appeared to be serious, as it appeared the forward’s lower leg was hanging off at one point.

Warriors fans will now await the results of further testing on Moody. The Warriors improved to 33-38 and are in last place in the Western Conference Play-In Tournament. This is another brutal injury for Golden State, who are already without Jimmy Butler and Steph Curry for the remainder of the regular season.

Daniel Gafford out of game against Warriors with shoulder injury

The Dallas Mavericks are unable to catch any breaks this season as their troubles continue. On Monday, Daniel Gafford was forced to miss their game against the Golden State Warriors with a shoulder injury.

Gafford was playing great before being sent off late in the fourth quarter at American Airlines Center. The Mavericks announced that he would not return for the remainder of the game.

He finished with 20 points on a perfect 8-of-8 shooting. He also had seven rebounds, five assists, one steal and one block.

The Mavericks ultimately lost to the Warriors 137–131 in overtime.

Gafford has already missed more than 20 games this season due to various injuries. Entering the game against Golden State, he was averaging 9.0 points, 7.0 rebounds and 1.2 blocks.

Dallas is already in fifth place, with Derek Lively II out for the season with a foot injury. The team acquired Marvin Bagley III at the trade deadline, but he is not a natural center. If Gafford sits out for an extended period of time, Dwight Powell could get extended minutes.

Cooper Flagg had a game-high 32 points on 12-of-19 shooting in the losing effort. He had four rebounds, nine assists and two steals, although he also had seven turnovers.

Bagley and PJ Washington combined for 18 points, three rebounds, five assists and three steals.

The Mavericks dropped their fourth consecutive assignment and lost 23–49. Meanwhile, the Warriors snapped their three-game losing streak and improved to 34–38.

Things won’t get easier for Dallas as they face the Denver Nuggets on Wednesday.

John Collins joins Kawhi Leonard after downgrade due to injury

The LA Clippers have been playing shorthanded for several weeks as one key player has been injured. However, the Clippers are likely to be very shorthanded on Monday night against the Milwaukee Bucks.

John Collins, who was initially listed as ‘probable’ to play with a left ankle sprain on Sunday evening against the Bucks, was downgraded to ‘doubtful’ on Monday afternoon after being evaluated by the team in the morning.

Collins’ appearance on the injury report comes after the Clippers forward injured his ankle with 1:11 remaining in the team’s fourth game of the quarterfinal against the Dallas Mavericks. John Collins, attempting to stop the Mavs from advancing on Nazi Marshall, takes a step and appears to twist his ankle, immediately falling to the ground and fouling Marshall in the process.

Collins left the game after picking up his sixth personal foul, finishing with eight points, three rebounds, one steal and two blocked shots in 29 minutes of play.

Collins is now joined by Kawhi Leonard, who is also listed as ‘doubtful’ to play on Monday due to a left ankle sprain.

Leonard was able to finish Saturday night’s game against the Mavs, scoring 34 points on 12-of-22 shooting with three rebounds, five assists and two steals in 36 minutes of action.

The Milwaukee Bucks will also be significantly shorthanded on Monday night, playing the game without star Giannis Antetokounmpo as he deals with a hyperextension and bone bruise in his left knee. Kevin Porter Jr. is also out for the Bucks, while Kyle Kuzma and Gary Harris are both considered ‘questionable’.

Monday night’s game will start at 7:30 pm PST.

Smart, Hachimura downgraded due to injury for Pistons game

The Los Angeles Lakers come into their matchup with the Eastern Conference leaders Detroit Pistons with a lot of positives. They are currently on an eight-game winning streak and have enjoyed some great basketball from their offensive unit led by Luka Doncic.

However, his performance continued despite minor injury issues and the same appears to be true for the Detroit game. According to Benjamin Royer of the OC Register, both Marcus Smart and Rui Hachimura are now scheduled to miss this contest, with Smart dealing with right ankle soreness and Hachimura dealing with right calf soreness. This comes on the heels of Luka Doncic’s one-game suspension that came as a result of his 16th technical foul in their recent win over the Orlando Magic.

However, it’s not only negative news for the Lakers, Maxi Kleber has been upgraded to available despite his back strain. Of course, the Pistons have their own injury concerns despite the current three-game winning streak.

Cade Cunningham suffered a ‘constricted lung’ during the Pistons’ win over the Washington Wizards and will be reevaluated in about two weeks. Marcus Sasser is out with a hip injury, while Isaiah Stewart is also recovering from a calf strain and will be out for the time being.

Nonetheless, even in Cunningham’s absence, Detroit looked comfortable in their win against the Golden State Warriors. Jalen Duren and Dennis Jenkins combined for 45 points against Golden State and will once again be expected to handle the offensive responsibilities.

The Lakers are in the middle of a six-game road trip and have won four games in a row. They have undoubtedly found their offensive rhythm with Deandre Ayton, showing a greater willingness to anchor the paint and run the floor for LA. Luka Doncic is in absolute form and is getting points with ease even on his off days.

He returned with 33 points in a win against the Orlando Magic despite going 12-30 from the field and 3-13 from the three-point zone. The Lakers’ attack will undoubtedly be tested in his absence, although they will be confident about their firepower even in the absence of the Slovenian international.

Latest Warriors’ Stephen Curry knee injury update amid 5-on-5 practice absences

Golden State Warriors superstar Stephen Curry has not played since Jan. 30 and has missed each of the team’s last 21 games due to what the team is repeatedly labeling as patella-femoral pain syndrome and a bone bruise in his right kneecap.

This injury has been causing persistent discomfort and swelling since before the All-Star break, causing Curry to be absent for an extended period of time.

Before Saturday’s 126-110 loss to the Atlanta Hawks, the Warriors announced that Curry continued to make “good progress” in his return and has stepped up his individual workouts. The next step, as outlined in the team’s injury update, will be to integrate him into live action and team practices in the coming days.

Head coach Steve Kerr said over the weekend that he expected Steph to participate in 5-on-5 drills on Sunday.

Unfortunately for Curry and the Warriors, he did not participate in Sunday’s 5-on-5 drills, league sources tell ClutchPoints. However, team sources are adamant that it is not being viewed as a setback and that Curry is on the same recovery timeline that was provided on Saturday.

He is expected to continue his on-court activities and will be re-evaluated when the team returns to San Francisco after Monday night’s game in Dallas.

The Warriors have been out of an abundance of caution regarding Curry’s right knee issue, which is why he was given an extra day of practice before returning to 5-on-5 play.

As reported by ClutchPoints ahead of the team’s update on Steph’s status on Saturday, the Warriors were optimistic about Curry’s return at some point following their six-game road trip. Upon returning home, seven of the team’s final 10 games of the season will be played at Chase Center, allowing Curry to receive maximum treatment for his right knee and not require him to travel as much.

For several weeks, the Warriors have been hopeful that Steph will be able to return for at least one of their two home games against the Brooklyn Nets and Washington Wizards on March 25 and March 27, respectively.

Sources said that mentality hasn’t changed, yet everything will depend on how he feels in practice Tuesday and what is said upon re-evaluation in San Francisco.

Overall, Curry and the Warriors have insisted that he not be locked up for the remainder of the 2025-26 season. Steph wants to play again before the end of the regular season, and the team remains optimistic about its chances of being competitive in the play-in tournament with Curry, despite falling in the standings without him.

In their last 21 games without Steph, Golden State has gone 6-15, 1.5 games behind the Phoenix Suns for the 7-seed and now 1.5 games behind the Portland Trail Blazers for the 9-seed in the Western Conference.

A loss to the Mavericks on Monday night would put the Warriors in an even deeper hole as the 10-seed in the West.

During his recovery process, the Warriors remained adamant that Curry had not suffered a concussion and that his injury, described as “runner’s knee”, had resulted in prolonged pain and swelling that persisted longer than originally expected.

Multiple tests and imaging confirmed that there was no further structural damage to his right knee.

As for the team’s other injury concerns, running back Moses Moody, who hasn’t played since March 2 because of a right wrist sprain, is considered questionable to play Monday night at Dallas. Veteran big man Al Horford is out with a right calf strain, but the Warriors remain optimistic he will return before the end of the regular season.

The Warriors are currently 33-38 and have lost eight of their last nine games as of Monday night.

Arsenal player out of national team – knee injury raises Arteta’s concerns

Arsenal face a fresh concern after their defeat to Manchester City in the Carabao Cup final, with Gabriel Magalhaes now ruled out of Brazil duty following that game.

The Gunners went into Sunday’s final knowing silverware was within reach, but fell short against Pep Guardiola’s side. It was a shock, yet it did little to change the broader picture of Arsenal’s season. Mikel Arteta’s side remain firmly in the fight on several fronts, with the Premier League title race still alive and a deep run in the FA Cup remaining.

That context makes Gabriel’s situation all the more relevant. The Brazilian has been one of Arsenal’s most important players this season. He has been a consistent presence at centre-back, forming a strong partnership and providing both defensive reliability and threat from set pieces.

According to FBRef statistics, Gabriel is again ranked among Arsenal’s top performers for clearances, aerial duels won and defensive actions per 90. He has also scored important goals, underscoring his value at both ends of the pitch.

Injury concerns after Wembley

The issue came to light during the final against Manchester City. After the match Gabriel complained of pain in his right knee, which raised immediate concerns.

Brazilian FA It has just been confirmed that the defender has been withdrawn from the squad for the upcoming friendlies against France and Croatia.

A statement from CBF read: “Arsenal defender Gabriel Magalhão is out of the friendlies against France and Croatia. After Sunday’s match against Manchester City, the player reported pain in his right knee.”

he adds: “Imaging tests revealed that Gabriel Magalhaes is not fit for matches this international break. No replacement will be called up.”

What does this mean for Arsenal

From Arsenal’s point of view, there is at least some relief in time. The international break now provides Gabriel with the opportunity to recover without having to immediately miss club matches.

Arteta’s side will not return to action until April 4, when they face Southampton in the FA Cup quarter-finals. This gives medical staff time to properly assess the injury and manage his recovery.

Still, any issues involving Gabriel will be closely monitored. Arsenal are entering the decisive stage of the season, and his role in their defensive structure is difficult to replace.

If the problem proves to be minor, the break may come at the right time. If not, it could become a factor in Arsenal’s push for trophies in the coming weeks.

Jaylen Brown reveals blunt message for Jayson Tatum ahead of injury return

The fact that Jayson Tatum returned to the hardwood for the Boston Celtics even a year after rupturing his Achilles in the second round of the 2025 NBA Playoffs is such a huge win not only for the Celtics, but for the entire game. Tatum obviously isn’t fully back yet, but his mere presence makes the Celtics a more dangerous team than ever during the 2025-26 season.

There was a lot of hype surrounding Tatum’s return, as it had been rumored for almost the entire season that he might make his highly anticipated return sooner than many expected. But in his absence, Jaylen Brown has stepped up to become the team’s undisputed alpha, and he has more than risen to the occasion – averaging 28.9 points, 7.2 rebounds and 5.0 assists in 55 games before Tatum’s return.

With Tatum out for so long, he needed to get back on the same page to help propel the Celtics to bigger and better things. That’s exactly what they did with Brown and Tatum close together He has his eyes on the same prize.

“It was great. The initial conversation, having that communication. … It’s important to be able to get back on the same page, but it’s going to take more communication as the year goes on. Things change, we got adversity, ups and downs. We just let it be me and you,” Brown told Vince Carter and the rest of the NBC crew.

Both of them have the responsibility of leading the team as co-stars and they have done it in the past. But the Celtics star refused to be satisfied just because they won a title just two years ago.

“Our communication sets the tone for the rest of the team. We both have to step up if we want this to work,” Brown said.

Injury updates to Marcus Smart, Rui Hachimura for Pistons clash

The Los Angeles Lakers have a big test coming up against the Eastern Conference-leading Detroit Pistons on Monday, and they’ll have Luka Doncic in the lineup after his 16th technical was voided by the NBA. But the Lakers may have shortcomings elsewhere as injury reports surfaced on Sunday from key players like Marcus Smart and Rui Hachimura.

Both Marcus Smart and Rui Hachimura were listed as questionable on the Lakers’ injury report ahead of their upcoming game against the Pistons. Smart is dealing with right ankle soreness while Hachimura has right calf soreness. In addition to Hachimura and Smart, veteran big man Maxi Kleber is also questionable against the Pistons.

Smart missed the Lakers’ win against the Chicago Bulls on March 12 due to a hip problem, and he has been dealing with minor ailments throughout the season. But Smart has been one of the team’s most important players this season, along with Luka Doncic, LeBron James and Austin Reaves.

Smart has appeared in 60 games, including 53 starts, averaging a little over 28 minutes per game. He averaged 9.5 points, 2.8 rebounds, 2.8 assists and 1.4 steals while shooting 39.9 percent from the field, 33.6 percent from the 3-point line and 81.6 percent from the free-throw line. Smart’s impact goes far beyond his shooting percentage, and he has been one of the league leaders in deflections.

Coincidentally, Hachimura was taken out of the starting lineup by Smart. He has been in a reserve role since returning from a calf injury in December.

He has appeared in 59 games, including 35 starts, at a pace of just over 28 minutes per game. He averaged 11.1 points and 3.2 rebounds with splits of 50.5 percent shooting from the field, 43.8 percent shooting from the 3-point line and 75.9 percent shooting from the free-throw line.

The Lakers have won nine consecutive games against the top team in the Eastern Conference. They are currently the No. 3 seed in the Western Conference standings, and a full three games ahead of the No. 4 Houston Rockets.

Is Josh Hart playing tonight? Knicks vs Wizards injury report

The New York Knicks are currently on a five-game winning streak and will next host the Washington Wizards, who have lost 15 consecutive games. The Knicks lead the season series 2-0 and come into this game with a 93-92 win against the Brooklyn Nets.

New York is currently 46-25, in third place in the Eastern Conference, while Washington is 16-54, having last won on Feb. 20. The Knicks are allowing just 110.3 points per game (5th in the NBA), while Washington is allowing 123.8 points per game (29th).

In terms of injuries, the Knicks will be without Miles McBride and Landry Shamet, while Josh Hart is listed on the official injury report with a knee issue along with Tyler Kolek and Ariel Huckporty, according to a post on X by Steve Popper. For Washington, Leaky Black is sidelined with a left ankle sprain, while Justin Champagnie is unavailable as he serves a league suspension. The injury list also includes Anthony Davis (left finger sprain), Keyshawn George (left elbow sprain), Trey Johnson (right foot sprain), and Alex Sarr (left big toe capsulitis).

Cam Whitmore is also out with a serious right shoulder condition related to deep vein thrombosis, while Trae Young is out with lower back soreness and a right quad injury. After all, D’Angelo Russell is no longer with the team.

Josh Hart’s injury status vs. Wizards

Wendell Cruz-USA TODAY Sports

Josh Hart is listed as questionable, leaving some uncertainty regarding his availability. He is averaging 12.1 points, 7.6 rebounds and 5.1 assists per game. New York enters this game as the clear favorite, finishing in the top five in both offensive rating (3rd) and defensive rating (5th). The Knicks are averaging 116.8 points per game, good for 10th in the NBA, while only allowing 110.3 points per game, fifth-fewest in the league.

They have already defeated the Wizards twice this season by margins of 17 and 31 points, and will once again be the favorites at home. Even if Hart doesn’t play, he has enough firepower to dominate the injury-plagued Wizards at home.

Washington’s struggles are reflected on both ends of the floor. The team is 25th in the NBA in scoring, averaging 112.5 points per game, and 27th in offensive rating. Defensively, the Wizards allow 123.8 points per game, which ranks 29th in the league, and they have the worst defensive rating overall.

The Wizards are also coming off a 132-111 loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder for the second straight night, a situation they have struggled with all season with a 1-11 record and losing 16 of their last 17 games.

While Castle has already been ruled out, Wembanyama is considered doubtful for Saturday’s contest between the Spurs and Pacers. His status will remain unclear until San Antonio announces his potential availability prior to tip-off. Victor Wembanyama has said he wants to win MVP and Defensive Player of the Year so he can push to play on Saturday night.

The Spurs are currently firmly in second place in the Western Conference, as they are just three games behind the Oklahoma City Thunder. Given that the Pacers have the worst record in the NBA (15–55), this game is not considered a marquee matchup.

Victor Wembanyama has been a monster for Spurs all season. The three-time All-Star is averaging 24.3 points (career-best), 11.1 rebounds (career-best), 2.9 assists and 3.0 blocks (league leader) per game. He also has an impressive 50.6% field goal percentage while shooting 35.7% from beyond the three-point line (career-best).

Wembanyama played in the Spurs’ last game which ended in a 101–100 victory over the Phoenix Suns. The third-year veteran finished that contest with 34 points, 12 rebounds, one assist and three steals. That win clinched a playoff spot for San Antonio.

So, when the question comes whether Victor Wembanyama is playing against the Pacers tonight, the answer remains up in the air.

Is Donovan Mitchell playing tonight? Cavs vs Pelicans injury report

The Cleveland Cavs will visit the New Orleans Pelicans on Saturday night. Donovan Mitchell is on the injury report along with Jarrett Allen, with one player listed as questionable and the other ruled out. Mitchell is nursing a left eye injury, while Allen is suffering from right knee tendinitis. Here’s everything we know about Donovan Mitchell’s injury and his playing status against the Pelicans.

Donovan Mitchell’s injury status vs. Pelicans

Given that Donovan Mitchell is listed as questionable on the Cavaliers’ injury report, it is difficult to predict whether he will play in Saturday’s contest against the Pelicans. Mitchell made NBA history with a hat-trick of career accomplishments in a single game. With the 20+ point performance he reached 15,000 career points, surpassing Mark Price for sixth most in franchise history, and scored his 200th 3-pointer of the regular season.

Still, Mitchell’s eye injury forced him to sit out Thursday’s 115-110 win against the Bulls. While the Cavs have won their last two games, they are 6-4 in their last 10 contests. With only 12 games remaining in the regular season, the Cavs (43-27) are one of the few teams that can overtake the Knicks for third place in the Eastern Conference.

The Knicks (46-25) hold a 2.5-game lead. The Cavs have distanced themselves from the fifth-seeded Raptors (39-30) in recent weeks, powering the Eastern Conference’s top-4 squads during the fourth quarter of the regular season.

Mitchell finished with 19 points, eight rebounds, three assists, one block and one steal in his last outing against the Bucks. As for whether Donovan Mitchell is playing tonight against the Pelicans, the answer is probably.

Is Stephen Castle playing tonight? spurs vs pacers injury report

The San Antonio Spurs face the Indiana Pacers on Saturday night and Stephen Cassel is at the center of the injury report. He is listed as questionable due to right hip tightness, putting the Spurs guard in focus as the team looks to extend its four-game winning streak.

The Spurs entered the matchup at 52–18, No. 2 in the Western Conference, its playoff position already secured. Meanwhile, the Pacers come in at 15-55, No. 15 in the East, trying to break a brutal losing streak as its season continues to slip. Here’s everything we know from the injury report about Stephen Cassel and his playing status against the Pacers.

Stephen Castle has been a consistent presence this season. He averaged 16.5 points, 5.0 rebounds and 7.1 assists in 59 games. He is shooting 46.5 percent from the field, 31.4 percent from three and 73.5 percent from the free-throw line.

Furthermore, Castle continues to control the tempo and create chances. He handles playmaking duties and keeps the offense organized. His presence provides balance and stability to the Spurs, especially as they push deeper into the postseason picture.

Stephen Cassel Injury Status vs Pacers

Spurs’ injury report makes Castle’s availability particularly important. Harrison Ingram, David Jones Garcia and Emmanuel Miller are out due to G League assignments. San Antonio still has depth, but Cassel’s play is key to keeping the momentum going.

On the other hand, the Pacers are struggling with heavy injury reports. Tyrese Haliburton (Achilles) and Jonny Furphy (ACL) are out with Ivica Zubac (rib). Several players are listed as questionable, including Quenton Jackson, TJ McConnell, Andrew Nembhard, Aaron Nesmith and Pascal Siakam.

The Spurs are looking to stay sharp. Pacers are looking for any pace. So when it comes to whether Stephen Cassel is playing tonight against the Pacers, the answer is uncertain. His status is questionable, and his availability will depend on pregame evaluation.

Wizards reveal Trae Young’s second injury as season ends

The Washington Wizards have the NBA’s second-worst record at 16-53 entering Saturday’s home date with the Oklahoma City Thunder, and they are on pace to make the top six in this summer’s draft. They have no incentive to bring players back from injury before their last game on April 12, especially four-time All-Star guard Trae Young.

The Wizards announced an update on the injury to the 27-year-old, who missed Monday’s 125-117 loss to the Golden State Warriors due to quad contusion.

“Young re-injured his right quadriceps during the third quarter of the game against Golden State on March 16. Related imaging due to back pain confirmed lower back irritation,” the organization said. “Both injuries are being treated conservatively and will not require surgery at this time. Further updates will be provided as appropriate.”

Washington officially acquired Young from the Atlanta Hawks on January 9, but he did not play until the team’s 122–112 home loss to the Utah Jazz on March 5 due to quad and knee injuries. The former All-NBA honoree has played just five games since the trade after leading the league with 11.6 assists per game in 76 contests last year and 15 games overall this season.

The Wizards placed a minutes restriction on Young, as he averaged only 20.8 minutes in those five games. The 6-foot-2, 164-pounder is averaging 34.1 minutes in his career.

However, Young still put on a show, Producing highlights such as fake behind-the-back passes, deep threes, and his patented “ice tray” celebration.

The Oklahoma native averaged 15.2 points on 59.5% shooting (42.9% 3-point) with 6.3 assists, three rebounds and 2.6 turnovers in those 20.8 minutes. He scored 21 points (7-10 FG, 3-5 3-point) with five assists, two rebounds, one block and one steal in 21 minutes against the Warriors on Monday.

Young has a $49 million player option this summer. Assuming the former Oklahoma Sooner opts to extend and/or sign with Washington, he will likely be its point guard next season with star big man Anthony Davis and a young core including big man Alex Saar, sharpshooting guard Trey Johnson, wing Keyshawn George, wing Will Riley, guard Bilal Coulibaly and guard Bub Carrington. Additionally, whoever the team drafts this summer could be a superstar prospect like BYU’s AJ DiBuntsa, Kansas’ Darrin Peterson, or Duke’s Cameron Boozer, depending on which selection they get in May’s NBA Draft Lottery.

Trae Young showed how he can change the Wizards

If Young doesn’t return this season, the silver lining is that he showed why Washington chose him. The seriousness of the 2018 NCAA champion and assists leader on offense generated more open looks for its young core, making it easier for players like Johnson, Riley and Coulibaly to score. For example, Coulibaly is averaging 16.8 points on 45% shooting (41% 3-point) with Young, and he is averaging 11 points on 41.5% shooting (31% 3-point) in 47 games this season.

Additionally, Reeves continues to produce offense at a high level. He handles playmaking duties and consistently generates scoring opportunities. His presence gives the Lakers balance and rhythm, especially with their stars.

austin reeves injury status vs magic

The Lakers’ injury report notes Reeves’ availability as particularly important. Maxi Kleber (back) is out, putting pressure on the rotation. Los Angeles needs Reaves’ scoring and playmaking to maintain their current pace.

On the other hand, Magic is struggling with several injuries. Anthony Black (abdomen) and Jonathan Isaac (knee) are out. Franz Wagner (ankle) is also sidelined, while Wendell Carter Jr. (rib) is questionable.

The Lakers are looking to continue moving forward. Trying to stop the magic slide. So when it comes to whether Austin Reeves is playing vs. the Magic tonight, the answer is uncertain. His status is questionable, and his availability will depend on pregame evaluation.

Is Kawhi Leonard playing tonight? Clippers vs Mavericks Injury Report

The Los Angeles Clippers face the Dallas Mavericks on Saturday night and Kawhi Leonard is once again at the center of the injury report. He is listed as questionable with a sprained left ankle, putting the Clippers’ star in focus as the team tries to end a four-game losing streak and stay in the play-in race.

Dallas, meanwhile, comes in at 23-47, No. 13 in the West, trying to snap a two-game losing streak. Additionally, Leonard continues to dictate the game on both ends. He makes his shots with ease and holds the Clippers defensively. His presence sets the tone and provides structure to Los Angeles in high-pressure moments.

Kawhi Leonard’s injury status vs. Mavericks

The Clippers’ injury report makes Leonard’s situation particularly important. Bradley Beal (hip) is out with injuries, while Benedict Mathurin (toe) and Yannick Konan Niederhauser (foot) remain sidelined. Los Angeles can’t afford to lose another key piece as it struggles to stay in the play-in picture.

The Mavericks, on the other hand, are dealing with key absences. Kyrie Irving (knee) and Derek Lively II (foot) are out along with Brandon Williams (concussion). Several players are listed as questionable, including Caleb Martin (heel), Moussa Cisse, John Poulakidas and Tyler Smith.

The Clippers are looking for stability. The Mavericks are trying to stop the decline. So when it comes to whether Kawhi Leonard is playing tonight against the Mavericks, the answer is uncertain. His status is questionable, and his availability will depend on pregame evaluation.

Hugo Ekitike – Injury being seen as ‘more of a scare’, Liverpool striker could face weeks out

Hugo Akitike’s injury against Brighton & Hove Albion was not serious, with early indications suggesting the Liverpool striker has escaped major injury.

Report by French journalist Santi Auna That Ekitike suffered more from ‘fear’ than ‘anything serious’.

According to their information, Ekitike has suffered a ‘serious thigh injury’. Liverpool are awaiting further tests before deciding on a timescale on his absence. However, the good news is that the injury is not serious.

brighton injury

Akitike had to be subbed off after just seven minutes in the clash with Brighton. It appeared that he had suffered a leg injury due to a late challenge from James Milner.

The French striker collapsed on the turf in pain before staggering to the sideline. After a brief attempt to play on, he went down again and was replaced by Curtis Jones before heading straight into the tunnel.

international suspicion

It was a worrying moment for Liverpool. They were already without Mohamed Salah and Alisson for the trip to the south coast. Alexander Isaac has also been absent for a long time.

This also put Ekitike in doubt for the international break. He has been called by France for next week’s friendly matches against Brazil and Colombia. But now it is doubtful whether he will play in both the matches.

Auna reports that the 23-year-old has at least escaped major injury. However, a serious thigh injury is no laughing matter.

While a mild Grade 1 injury usually requires at least one week, severe injury can often result in an absence of 4–8 weeks. With Ekitike’s injury described as ‘serious’, he may now have to be out for a few weeks.

What does this mean for liverpool

This would be a huge blow for Liverpool as they try to make it into the top four and qualify for the Champions League.

Ekitike is their top goalscorer this season with 17 goals in all competitions and losing him for a long period of time could be extremely damaging.

Noah Clowney may miss crucial match vs Kings due to wrist injury

The Brooklyn Nets have Noah Clowney on the injured list. The third-year forward missed Wednesday’s 121-92 loss to Oklahoma City with a sprained wrist. He was ruled out of Friday’s game with the New York Knicks.

Jordi Fernandez said Clowney likely will miss Sunday’s game with the Sacramento Kings. The Nets are already without Michael Porter Jr. (hamstring strain), Igor Demin (plantar fasciitis) and Deron Sharp (thumb surgery).

“I had to take him out because he was in so much pain. Sometimes, as I remember with De’Ron, I’d say, ‘Are you OK?’ And he wanted to play through it, and then I had to take him outside and look, and then he went back in, and all of a sudden, he needed surgery. And Noah, immediately when I saw he was in pain, I said, ‘Do you need a sub?’ And I’m asking guys to pick fouls to be able to get him out, and I ended up calling a timeout. That’s why he was very sad. He has sprained his wrist. He’ll be out tonight, most likely he’ll be out the next game, and then we’ll go from there.”

Clowney has appeared in 62 games with 56 starts this season, averaging 12.5 points, 4.1 rebounds and 1.7 assists on .396/.333/.804 shooting splits.

Sunday’s Kings matchup will have a significant impact on the NBA’s draft lottery race. The Nets are in third place in the lottery standings entering the game. Sacramento is fourth with one more win than Brooklyn.

The Nets are coming off a five-game losing streak entering Friday’s matchup with the New York Knicks. They have posted the NBA’s worst offense during that span, sidelining Porter, Demin and Sharp, averaging 96.2 points on 39.7 percent shooting.

Meanwhile, the Kings have lost their last two games 4-1, dropping them from first to fourth in the lottery standings. After Thursday’s 139-118 loss to the Philadelphia 76ers, Sacramento will have two days off before the Brooklyn matchup.

Is Naz Reid playing tonight? Timberwolves vs. Trail Blazers injury report

The Minnesota Timberwolves (43-27) are struggling with only three weeks remaining in the regular season, two games behind the Los Angeles Lakers for third place in the West and one game behind the Denver Nuggets for sixth place. This group has advanced to the conference finals from both those positions, so seeding may not be necessary. Still, home-court advantage in the first round could be a welcome boost. But will the squad be healthy enough to accomplish this?

Anthony Edwards is dealing with knee inflammation and could miss a few weeks, leaving a larger offensive burden on the shoulders of Julius Randle. Minnesota is deep enough to handle the absence of its franchise cornerstone for a limited amount of time, but another key player is also dealing with injury. Nazi Reed missed Wednesday’s 147-111 win over the Utah Jazz with a right ankle sprain and could be out again in Friday’s home game against the Portland Trail Blazers (34-36).

The former Sixth Man of the Year (could also win the award this season) is averaging 13.7 points, 6.2 rebounds, 1.0 steals and 1.0 blocks per contest, while shooting 46.9 percent from the field and 37.3 percent from 3-point land. Already without Edwards, the Timberwolves’ offense will be stretched thin if Reed is stuck on the bench. Ergo, the 26-year-old forward’s status for the Blazers clash is of great interest to the fan base.

Naz Reid’s status for the Timberwolves-Blazers game

According to the NBA’s latest injury report, Reed is listed as questionable. If he is sidelined, Minnesota will likely rely on Randle, Jaden McDaniels and Donte DiVincenzo to provide adequate offense. Portland has certainly been able to take advantage of Wolves’ misfortune.

The Blazers are battling the Los Angeles Clippers and Golden State Warriors for the eighth spot. Earning extra lives is obviously important in the NBA Play-In Tournament, so fans should expect this team to enter Goal Center with obvious intensity. However, Portland itself is shorthanded.

Shadon Sharp has been out since the beginning of February after suffering a stress reaction in his left fibula. The Trail Blazers can hold their own without an explosive guard, and the Timberwolves believe they can do the same without Anthony Edwards, at least in this game. However, an inactive Naz Reed could stand in the way of their victory.

Timberwolves fans are hoping they get some good news before the action tips off at 8 pm ET.

Memphis receives multiple injury updates for Celtics clash

The Memphis Grizzlies defeated the Denver Nuggets 125-118 on Wednesday, then will once again face a challenging opponent in the Boston Celtics on Friday. The Grizzlies have a detailed injury report ahead of the matchup. GG Jackson, who is dealing with a right knee injury, is listed as questionable. Taj Gibson, who played in Wednesday’s 125-118 win, is also questionable due to soreness in his right foot.

Upon his return to the NBA, the 40-year-old Gibson, who last played for the Charlotte Hornets in 2024-25, joined the Grizzlies midseason. On Monday, Gibson made his Grizzlies’ season opener against the Chicago Bulls, his former team who drafted him in 2009. He spent the first seven years of his NBA career with the Bulls. The fans at the United Center gave him a standing ovation.

Grizzlies’ Jackson finished with 16 points, six rebounds and two blocks in the Grizzlies’ upset win against the Nuggets. Ty Jerome’s 21 points led the Grizzlies to the win. Oliver-McSevens Prosper finished with 19 points, including three triples and two blocks, and GG Jackson II added 16 points, six rebounds and two blocks.

As far as whether GG Jackson or Taj Gibson will play in the Grizzlies’ matchup against the Celtics, the answer is probably no.

Anthony Davis’ hand injury to be reevaluated before season ends

The Washington Wizards have acquired two stars this season, but only one has played for them. Four-time All-Star guard Trae Young (quad) has played five games, while five-time All-NBA big man Anthony Davis (hand) has been out since the Wizards met the Dallas Mavericks in February.

Washington released an update on Davis via social media on Friday.

“Davis, who is out with ligament damage in his left hand, was re-evaluated on Thursday by Dr. Steven Shinn of Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles,” the organization said. “It was determined that Davis’ recovery is progressing positively, but the volar plate tissue in his left hand has not completely healed. Davis will continue conservative treatment and will continue to pursue his basketball activity as tolerated, he will be reevaluated at the end of the month, and an update will be provided at that time.”

According to ESPN, Davis has not played since January 8, when he injured his hand guarding Utah Jazz big man Lauri Markkanen in the Mavericks’ 116–114 loss. This occurred the day after the Wizards agreed to acquire Young from the Atlanta Hawks and they agreed to terms with Dallas for Davis on February 4.

Washington sent the Oklahoma City Thunder’s 2026 first-round pick, the Golden State Warriors’ top-20-protected 2030 first-rounder, and three second-rounders along with forward Khris Middleton, guard AJ Johnson, guard Malachi Branham and big man Marvin Bagley III. The Mavericks also traded guards Jaden Hardee, D’Angelo Russell and Dante Exum along with Davis. Via Brett Siegel of ClutchPoints, the Wizards waived Exum and Russell will not report to the team.

This story is being updated.

Kendrick Perkins suggests bold change after Cade Cunningham injury

The Detroit Pistons are entering a crucial period without Cade Cunningham, and Kendrick Perkins believes his collapsed lung injury could reshape the team’s trajectory moving forward. Detroit earned its 50th win of the season, its first since 2007–08, but the sudden loss of its All-Star guard changed everything. With momentum building, the focus has now shifted from celebration to survival. How do the pistons react when the engine dies?

Kendrick Perkins gives a bold answer on Road Trippin’. He did not suggest any simple replacement. Instead, he pointed to a change in the system for the Pistons.

“JB, I’m talking to you, your guy. If I were you right now, I would go and study when Miami gets to the Finals and I would expand our offense even more through Duncan Robinson. It doesn’t mean he’s getting touches, but my offensive sets will be designed around him. Chaos, back picks and all that stuff will be created.”

It’s not about quantity. It’s about gravity. Agitation. Pressure.

A different type of center point for the piston

This idea may seem unusual, but it has weight. Duncan Robinson’s figures support this. This season, he is averaging 11.8 points while shooting 40 percent from three. In previous playoff runs, he hovered around similar production, but kept defense every possession. That constant motion created space. It unlocked everything else.

Detroit could follow that blueprint.

As Cade Cunningham continues to battle his injury, the Pistons’ offense is at risk of becoming stagnant. Very predictable. Very slow. But a motion-based system built around shooters and off-ball action could breathe life into the mix. This may force the defense to react rather than give instructions.

The Pistons have already proven they can win. Fifty wins say this clearly. Still this moment feels different. Big. Margins for error reduced.

So now the focus turns to Bickerstaff. Adjust or pause. Favor or fade.

Because if this team wants to move forward without its star, it will have to embrace chaos, and rely on an entirely new path forward. What happens next could define this entire season.

Brian Windhorst gets good news about Cade Cunningham’s injury

The Detroit Pistons are in serious trouble after Cade Cunningham suffered a lung injury. He will be reevaluated in two weeks and is expected to miss at least eight games.

The Pistons didn’t miss him much in Thursday’s 117-95 win over the Washington Wizards at Capital One Arena. They improved to 50–19 and reached 50 wins for the first time in 18 years.

While fans are concerned about Cunningham missing for an extended period of time, ESPN’s Brian Windhorst said there is no need to panic.

“The good news is they’ve got a four-game lead for a seed in the Eastern Conference standings. I think seeding is less important this year than health, obviously, but the Pistons played very hard. It would be great if they could get a seed so they have some cushion. They’ve played OK without Cade, they’re 5-2 without him,” Windhorst said.

“There are some tankers left on that schedule. There’s no doubt some tough games, but they should get some wins.”

Windhorst also raised the possibility of the 24-year-old guard returning sooner than later.

Windhorst said, “When the Pistons announced this injury, they didn’t announce the rib injury. Now, maybe they’re not giving it all out, but if he survived the big rib injury, it could potentially be more positive for him to come back in a shorter time frame.”

The team’s next five assignments aren’t exactly a walk in the park: the Golden State Warriors, Los Angeles Lakers, Atlanta Hawks, New Orleans Pelicans and Minnesota Timberwolves.

Cunningham, who is in danger of being ineligible for individual awards, averaged career-highs of 24.5 points, 5.6 rebounds and 9.9 assists and 1.5 steals.

Jalen Duren led Detroit with 24 points, 11 rebounds and two steals against the Wizards.

Is Trae Young playing tonight? wizards vs pistons injury report

The Washington Wizards face the Detroit Pistons on Thursday night and Trae Young is once again at the center of the injury report. He has been officially listed as out due to a right quad contusion, putting the Wizards’ key guard in focus as the team tries to break a brutal 13-game losing streak.

The Wizards enter the matchup at 16-52, No. 14 in the Eastern Conference, with their season essentially out of reach. Meanwhile, the Pistons are 49-19, ranked No. 3 in the West, looking to win consecutive games. Here’s everything we know from the injury report regarding Trae Young and his game status vs. the Pistons.

Even in limited action this season, Young has remained productive. In 15 games, he averaged 17.9 points, 8.0 assists and 2.0 rebounds. He’s also shooting 45.8 percent from the field and 82.5 percent from the free-throw line. Meanwhile, Young has continued to run the offense and create opportunities for his teammates. However, Washington is still struggling to find stability on both ends.

Without him, the Wizards lose a primary playmaker. They face even less margin for error. That challenge only increases against a surging Detroit team.

Trae Young’s injury status vs. Pistons

What makes Young’s absence particularly glaring is the Wizards’ injury report. Bilal Koulibaly (foot) and Alex Sarr (toe) are both questionable, while Anthony Davis, Keyshawn George and Cam Whitmore are all out. D’Angelo Russell is not with the team and Leaky Black is also out of the team.

On the other hand, the Pistons are also struggling with injuries. Cade Cunningham (back) and Isaiah Stewart (calf) are out, while several players are unavailable due to G League assignments. Still, Detroit has maintained strong momentum behind its depth and execution.

Washington is simply trying to stop the decline. Detroit wants to stay sharp and stack wins. So when the question comes whether Trae Young is playing against the Pistons tonight, the answer is no. He has been officially dismissed. His absence adds another challenge for a Wizards team searching for answers. The season is also ending.

Erik Spoelstra gives injury update to Andrew Wiggins, Jaime Jaquez Jr.

MIAMI – The Miami Heat are trying to make a playoff run with 12 games left in the season after Thursday’s game against the Los Angeles Lakers, with the team still dealing with injuries to key players like Jaime Jacquez Jr. and Andrew Wiggins. As the Heat prepare for the matchup to end the season, head coach Erik Spoelstra spoke on the updates he has for both impact players as the team looks to solidify their spot in the Eastern Conference.

Heat’s Erik Spoelstra provides update on Andrew Wiggins, Jaime Jacquez Jr.

Starting with Wiggins, facing the Lakers on Thursday marks the seventh consecutive contest the veteran forward has missed as he deals with an injury listed as “Left Big Toe; Sesamoiditis.” Wiggins is a mainstay in Miami’s starting lineup, providing the team with a consistent two-way effort that works well offensively with Bam Adebayo, Tyler Herro and others.

This season, Wiggins is averaging 15.9 points and 5.1 rebounds per game, while shooting 47.4 percent from the field. In his absence, Spoelstra would say the team is “encouraged” by Wiggins’ recovery process.

“He’s making progress, he’s not ready to go tonight. He’s still got a ways to go, but we’re encouraged by the progress he’s made over the last few days,” Spoelstra said before the Heat took on the Lakers.

As for Jaquez, he will be listed for Thursday’s game due to “left hip tightness,” a problem sustained during Tuesday’s 136-106 loss to the Charlotte Hornets in Miami. His importance cannot be underestimated as Jacquez has been one of the leading candidates for Sixth Man of the Year, averaging 15 points, 5.1 rebounds and 4.8 assists per game, while shooting 50 percent from the field.

Spoelstra would say he’ll be labeled “day-to-day.”

“It happened in the game, but he’s already had a lot of treatment. He’s starting to feel better. So take it day by day,” Spoelstra said.

Erik Spoelstra on “big test” for the Heat

While the Heat absolutely want to see how well they can operate before the postseason, the team may not get enough time to see what a fully healthy Miami team looks like. Since there will be 12 games after the Lakers contest, it cannot be said for sure when Wiggins will return with Jacquez, making it difficult to evaluate the team.

Either way, Spoelstra told ClutchPoints that the “big test” is overcoming the home stretch of the season against other teams that have similar goals.

“I mean, the big test is, you know, how we raise our game and spirit and level of competition against teams that are playing for something, at least in our near future,” Spoelstra said. “And, you know, that’s when people say they’ve always wanted that, and now we have it. But we always say it’s just for the competitors, and other teams, you know, competing and bringing their best game. So it’s just a matter of facing that level of competition and finding a way to get to another level.”

At any rate, Miami looks to take the remaining games remaining in the regular season and accomplish the goal they are striving for, which is to avoid the play-in tournament. After being in the tournament for the last three seasons and finishing as the eighth seed, the Heat are looking to move up to at least sixth place.

Entering Thursday against the Lakers, Miami is 38-31, in seventh place in the East, just a half-game behind the Orlando Magic, who hold the coveted sixth spot.

Is Kawhi Leonard playing tonight? Clippers vs Pelicans Injury Report

The LA Clippers are in the midst of a three-game road trip, currently the second night of a back-to-back set on Thursday night in New Orleans and the fifth game in a tough five-on-seven stretch for the team.

Seven-time NBA All-Star Kawhi Leonard returned Wednesday night after a one-game absence and played against the Pelicans. Leonard was previously unable to participate in Monday night’s loss to the San Antonio Spurs due to a left ankle sprain suffered in Saturday night’s game against the Sacramento Kings.

Leonard left the Kings’ game in the fourth quarter and was later ruled out for the remainder of the game. Kawhi Leonard made a quick recovery in time to play on Wednesday night, but will the game be played again on Thursday night?

Here’s everything we know about Kawhi Leonard’s injury status for tonight’s game vs. the Pelicans.

Kawhi Leonard’s injury status vs. Pelicans

Kawhi Leonard was listed as “doubtful” to play in the Clippers’ first contest against the Pelicans, and was eventually upgraded to available. The Clippers’ injury report for Thursday night has Leonard once again listed as “questionable” for the game with a left ankle sprain. This is the second night of back-to-back sets after recovering from injury, so Leonard will be in high gear.

Just before the game, the LA Clippers announced that Leonard had been ruled out of the game. The franchise has historically had a cautious history with the two-time NBA Finals MVP, but Leonard has placed an emphasis on playing as many games as possible, especially when the team is fighting for playoff position.

Worth watching is that guard Darius Garland has been ruled out of Thursday night’s game with a left big toe injury. He has not played a consistent match since his return and there is no reason to believe he will do so any time soon this season.

Kawhi Leonard has a bad reputation among NBA fans due to his unfortunate injuries, but he has played in both halves of nine back-to-back sets during the 2025-26 regular season with the Clippers, demonstrating his ability to stay healthy and produce at a high level. In previous years, the Clippers have kept him out of back-to-back sets due to serious injuries, such as a torn ACL that ended his 2021 and 2022 postseasons, a torn meniscus that cut his 2023 postseason short, and knee inflammation that caused him to miss the 2024 postseason.

Leonard has been mostly healthy this season and has played in 54 of the Clippers’ 69 games so far. Leonard missed 10 of the 15 games due to a severe right ankle sprain he suffered in November. Despite suffering a left ankle injury against the Spurs, Leonard finished with his 45th straight game of 20+ points, surpassing Bob McAdoo and setting a new franchise record. Leonard scored 25 points with eight rebounds on 9-of-12 shooting from the field on Wednesday, extending his streak of 20+ point games to 46, the second-longest active streak behind Oklahoma City Thunder star Shai Gilgeous-Alexander.

“Passing McAdoo is a huge accomplishment,” Tyronn Lue recently said of Kawhi Leonard. “He was a really good player, great player, and it says a lot about Kawhi. When he’s healthy, you know, what he’s done this year is crazy. Someone asked the other day, ‘Have you seen anybody do that in their 14th season, which is more than what they’ve averaged their entire career?’ And I said, ‘No, I’m not surprised.’ Because I see the work he does every day. I see what he does every night to get on the floor and try to play. He plays as healthy as he is. And it may take him a long time to do so.

This season, the Clippers are 30-24 in the 53 games that Kawhi Leonard has played and 4-11 in the 15 games he has not played. They’re also 0-3 in the three games Leonard has missed due to injury in the fourth quarter – against the Heat, Lakers and Kings.

Leonard is averaging 28.2 points, 6.4 rebounds, 3.6 assists and 2.0 steals, while shooting 50.4 percent from the field, 38.3 percent from three and 89.8 percent from the free-throw line. 28.2 points are the highest in his career.

The Clippers posted a 34–35 record, turning their season around and going 28–14 since starting the season 6–21. However, they have lost three games in a row and could face a fourth straight loss when they take on the Pelicans without Leonard and Garland.

Zach Lowe calls for All-NBA changes after Cade Cunningham injury news

The 65-game rule is once again under scrutiny as Zach Lowe criticized the concept following an injury to Detroit Pistons star guard Cade Cunningham.

Cunningham has been playing at an incredible level this season, leading Detroit to serious playoff contention. However, his lung was damaged which would cause him to lose significant time.

NBA analyst Zach Lowe provided his thoughts on Cunningham’s injury during his March 19 show. Cunningham has played in 61 games so far this season and the team has 14 games remaining. It’s very possible he doesn’t play another regular season game this year. Lowe wants an exception where a minimum number of players can be named to third-team All-NBA.

“I get it. I get the reason why they’re doing it. They have to try to encourage the best players to play. Spoiler alert, it hasn’t worked. And I also remember saying, can you at least give me the flexibility to be like third-team All-NBA so I don’t have to follow this rule,” Lowe said at the 8:45 mark.

“Respect me as a voter, former voter now, maybe in the future, that I can actually analyze games played, impact, minutes played, team records, like I can put it all together and actually compare somebody who played 63 games versus somebody who played 72 games and maybe come to the conclusion that maybe the guy who played 63 games is better, or more valuable, or more deserving of All-NBA, but you Concluded I’m too stupid to do that.”

Cade Cunningham, what’s next for the Pistons

It’s brutal news for the Pistons to learn about Cade Cunningham. He hopes to make a full recovery while keeping his season as strong as possible without the services of the star guard.

Detroit boasts a 49–19 record on the season, finishing atop the Eastern Conference standings. They are 3.5 games up on the Boston Celtics and five games up on the New York Knicks.

Following Thursday night’s matchup against the Washington Wizards, the Pistons will be at home for their next contest. They host the Golden State Warriors as tip-off takes place on March 20 at 7:30 pm ET.

Michael Porter Jr. gets brutal hamstring injury update

The Brooklyn Nets have been without Michael Porter Jr. for the last four games, and now they are going to be without him for a while longer as he deals with a hamstring injury.

Michael Porter Jr. will be sidelined for the next two to three weeks after an MRI confirmed a left hamstring strain, according to longtime NBA insider Marc Stein. Porter was in the midst of a breakout season following a trade from the Denver Nuggets, and he attracted considerable interest in the trade market at the deadline.

The No. 14 overall pick in the 2018 NBA draft, Porter has played his entire career so far with the Nuggets. He was a key part of the team’s 2023 NBA Championship run. The Nuggets opted to trade Porter to the Nets in the offseason, giving Denver sharpshooting wing Cam Johnson.

With a larger role and more freedom offensively, Porter was among the breakout players this season. Before being sidelined, he had appeared in 52 games for the Nets, averaging a little over 32 minutes per game. He averaged career-highs of 24.2 points, 7.1 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 1.1 steals while splitting 46.3 percent shooting from the field, 36.3 percent shooting from the 3-point line and 85.9 percent shooting from the free-throw line.

In addition to his points per game, Porter’s rebounding and assists are also career highs.

With the regular season coming to an end, the Nets are currently 17-52 and in 13th place in the Eastern Conference standings. They are on pace to receive a lottery selection in a deep and talented draft.

Franz Wagner’s ‘disappointing’ confession on long-term injury absence

The Orlando Magic have slipped a bit on their recent seven-game win streak, losing two consecutive games to the Atlanta Hawks and Oklahoma City Thunder. The Magic have been playing shorthanded recently, with forward Franz Wagner missing a game since February 11 due to an ankle injury.

Recently, Wagner got 100% honest about the frustrations of the rehab process as he wants to get back into the lineup before the end of the season.

According to Jason Beede of the Orlando Sentinel, Wagner said, “Going into this, I expected to feel really good within 4–6 weeks of the injury.” “And obviously I didn’t feel that way. So, I think it’s always disappointing, not only for me (but) for everyone involved.”

Many Magic fans were also hoping that Wagner would be back by this time, but apparently, the recovery process has not proceeded as smoothly as expected.

The Magic have done a solid job of holding down the fort in Wagner’s absence, currently sitting in sixth place in the Eastern Conference, but they are in danger of slipping back into the play-in zone with a losing streak against the Charlotte Hornets on Thursday.

When healthy, Wagner is a versatile forward who can do it on both ends of the floor, and early this season he showed signs of an improved outside jumper, an area long viewed as his main weakness.

If he can get back on the field before the playoffs arrive, the Magic won’t be a team anyone is looking forward to facing off against.

Orlando’s game against the Hornets on Thursday at Charlotte is scheduled to begin at 7:00 PM ET.

When it comes to the question of whether Donovan Mitchell is playing tonight against the Bulls, the answer is probably. Mitchell’s name was not included on the injury report until the afternoon due to a left eye injury. There was plenty of bloodshed in the Cavs’ win over the Milwaukee Bucks on Tuesday.

“I can’t really see out of my left eye tonight,” Mitchell said after a 19-point performance on 4-of-14 from the floor. Their focus was on making an impact with the ball and on the glass while Evan Mobley and James Harden continued to build their chemistry.

Cleveland will also be without Jarrett Allen for the seventh consecutive game, and based on the latest update we know he will be sidelined again on Saturday against the New Orleans Pelicans. Craig Porter Jr. is expected to be out at least a week with a left groin strain, while Tyrese Proctor has still not been cleared to play because of a right quadriceps strain.

No surprises on the Bulls’ injury sheet. Zach Collins, Jaden Ivey and Noah Esengue are out of action, while a pair of their two-way players are on assignment with the G League Windy City.

Why did Wendell Carter Jr. discuss the injury report late vs. Hornets?

The Orlando Magic will be without center Wendell Carter Jr. on Thursday night after he was sidelined with a mild left rib injury ahead of their game against the Charlotte Hornets.

Orlando (38-30) announced an update on its latest injury report on Thursday afternoon, giving Carter Jr. a late opportunity as the team prepares for tipoff at 7:00 p.m. ET on NBA TV. His absence adds to an already lengthy injury list as the Magic face major rotation losses heading into the season.

Carter Jr. last appeared in a 113-108 loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder on Tuesday, where he recorded 11 points, five rebounds, three assists and one steal in 29 minutes. He made 3 of 9 shots from the field and converted 5 of 6 free throw attempts in the contest.

The 26-year-old has been a consistent presence for Orlando throughout the season. In 65 games, he has averaged 11.7 points, 7.5 rebounds and 2.1 assists per game, while shooting 50.6% from the field and 32.2% from three-point range in 29.6 minutes per contest. His interior presence and rebounding have played a vital role in the Magic’s frontcourt stability.

The absence of Carter Jr. further diminishes Orlando’s depth in the frontcourt. The team’s injury report also lists Anthony Black (left lateral abdominal strain), Jonathan Isaac (left knee sprain) and Franz Wagner (left high ankle sprain/injury management) out. With several starters and rotation players sidelined, Orlando will be forced to rely on their remaining available personnel to fill key minutes.

Magical way to stabilize the standings without Wendell Carter Jr. vs. Hornets

The Magic entered Thursday’s contest looking to stop a two-game losing streak and reclaim a spot in the Eastern Conference standings. Orlando drops to the sixth seed and is one game behind the Toronto Raptors (39-29) for fifth place. The team is also 3.5 games behind the Cleveland Cavaliers (42-27) in the race for the fourth seed.

Charlotte (35-34) presents a competitive challenge as it continues to dominate the Eastern Conference standings. With both teams fighting for a postseason berth, availability and depth could prove decisive.

Following the matchup against the Hornets, Orlando will return home to begin a two-game homestand. That streak begins Saturday night against the Los Angeles Lakers (44-25), who are on a seven-game winning streak.

As the regular season enters its final stretch, the Magic’s ability to manage injuries while maintaining consistency will continue to be important. Carter Jr.’s late start underscores the challenges facing Orlando as it looks to stabilize its rotation and stay within reach of a higher seed in the Eastern Conference.

Joel Embiid injury update vs. Kings signs return

The Philadelphia 76ers face the Sacramento Kings on Thursday night and Joel Embiid is once again at the center of the injury report. He is listed as questionable due to a right oblique strain, putting the focus on the 76ers’ franchise star as the team looks to bounce back from the loss.

The 76ers enter the matchup at 37-32. They are ranked 9th in the Eastern Conference and are trying to stabilize their position in the playoff race. Meanwhile, Sacramento falls to 18-52. The Kings are ranked 15th in the West and continue to search for answers amid a poor season. Here’s everything we know from the injury report about Joel Embiid and his playing status against the Kings.

Embiid remains the anchor of the 76ers whenever he is on the field. He averaged 26.6 points, 7.5 rebounds and 3.9 assists in 33 games. He is also shooting 49.5 percent from the field and 85.8 percent from the free-throw line.

Additionally, he continues to dictate matchups in the paint. He consistently attracts defensive attention and creates space for teammates. His scoring presence sets the tone for Philadelphia’s offense. It gives the team more structure and confidence when he plays.

joel embiid injury status vs kings

The 76ers’ injury report notes Embiid’s availability as particularly important. The league has suspended Paul George, while Tyrese Maxey (finger) and Kelly Oubre Jr. (elbow) are sidelined. Johnny Broom is also out. Philadelphia’s error chances are reduced if Embiid can’t play.

The Kings, on the other hand, have a lengthy injury report. Domantas Sabonis (knee), Zach LaVine (finger), and De’Andre Hunter (eye) are out. Keegan Murray (ankle) and Devin Carter (calf) also will miss the game, while Malik Monk (ankle) and Nick Clifford (hamstring) are questionable.

Embiid’s situation also tells a bigger story. He hasn’t been on the questionable list in quite some time, which is a sign of progress. Although he is unlikely to play, the update suggests that he will return soon.

So when it comes to whether Joel Embiid is playing tonight vs. the Kings, the answer leans towards ‘no’. His condition remains questionable, but signs point towards a return sooner rather than later.

Switzerland manager Murat Yakin has confirmed that Leeds United’s Noah Okafor will miss the March international break through injury.

Okafor recently returned to training, but a new hip problem forced him out of the league draw against Crystal Palace at the weekend.

This setback has come as a huge blow to him as it has further delayed his return to the national team.

Okafor has not represented his country since arriving at Elland Road from AC Milan in August 2025. In fact, he had made an appearance since June 2024, and that was in November of that year.

At the end of that month, Tami urged Okafor needs to be “polite,” while Yakin said in January that the door is always open to him.

In February, Yakin, Tammy and Swiss FA media officer Adrian Arnold all traveled to the UK. The trio watched Okafor in live action against Nottingham Forest and chatted with him.

Tami said There were “honest, frank and constructive talks” between the parties. This led to suggestions that he could return to the team for the upcoming international break.

Ivica Zubac ruled out of Blazers game amid injury concerns

Ivica Zubac has performed well in all the last five games for the Indiana Pacers and has made a good start to his life as a member of his new team. Zubac was dealing with some ankle problems, and the Pacers were well aware of this when they brought him in via a blockbuster trade. Thus, it’s a pleasant surprise that he’s already back-to-back suits up for Indiana.

However, given that the Pacers have all the incentive in the world to not win a lot of games, given that they will give their 2026 first-round pick to the Los Angeles Clippers if it falls within the fifth to tenth selection, they are undoubtedly going to manage Zubac’s workload.

To that end, Zubac played only 23 minutes of their 117–109 loss to the Portland Trail Blazers on Wednesday night, exiting the contest with 10:44 remaining in the fourth quarter due to a head injury. He did not return to the game, finishing with 18 points and eight rebounds during his time on the court.

The Pacers will have two full days of rest before taking the court on Saturday against the San Antonio Spurs and for now, Zubac should be considered questionable for that game.

Zubac is going to learn how to play faster and expand his offensive game beyond the paint now that he is a member of the dangerous Pacers. This is invaluable time for Zubac and the Pacers, as he can become familiar with the system in a more low-pressure environment amid Indiana’s gap year.

Indiana invested a ton of assets in Zubac, and only time will tell how successful their move will be. Nonetheless, it’s easy to see why the Pacers brought him in, as he’ll play such sweet string music with Tyrese Haliburton when the floor general returns.

Chet Holmgren, Isaiah Hartenstein, Lou Dort on injury report for Nets clash

The Oklahoma City Thunder could continue their five-game road trip by facing the Brooklyn Nets without three starters – All-Star Chet Holmgren, Isaiah Hartenstein and Lou Dort. The Thunder clinched a playoff spot after defeating the Orlando Magic, becoming the first team to do so this season, while extending their winning streak to eight. Oklahoma City improved to 54–15.

However, if the defending champions are to extend their streak to nine, the Thunder will have to do it without Dortch and Hartenstein, with Holmgren listed as questionable on the injury report. Hartenstein, who returned from a left foot injury last week, is out due to management. Dort is out due to rest, and Holmgren, who is still recovering from a left hip injury, is listed as questionable.

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander finished with 40 points, five rebounds and four steals in Tuesday’s win against the Magic. Chet Holmgren added 20 points, 12 rebounds and one block. Lou Dortch had five points and two rebounds and Isaiah Hartenstein had eight assists, seven rebounds and a block.

Alex Caruso addresses memorable play in Thunder’s win

One of the most memorable moments of the Thunder’s 113–108 win against the Magic occurred in the first half when Alex Caruso used his shoe to block a shot. Caruso, who was charged with goaltending and technical fouls during the game, admitted she regrets doing the dramahe said, according to Justin Martinez of The Oklahoman.

Caruso said, “I’d never been in that situation before. It came next to me. So, I was like I’m going to use it.” “I just thought I was going to block it. Honestly, I didn’t know what the call was going to be. I didn’t know it was going to be goaltending and a take. If I had known that, I probably wouldn’t have made it.”

When Caruso realized it was too late to put his shoe back on during the game, he decided to use it.

“As soon as I got my shoe in my hands, I was thinking of using it,” Caruso said. “Not in a malicious way, but I’m going to try to make a play to stop the ball. It’s one of those weird NBA plays that probably won’t happen for the next 10 years.”

Caruso finished with two points, eight rebounds and two steals in Tuesday’s win against the Magic.

What’s next for Sirens after Giroud injury, DeGeorge signing

The New York Sirens are trying to clinch their first postseason berth in franchise history – but they will have to do so without one of their key offensive contributors. Third-year forward Taylor Girard will go on long-term injured reserve (LTIR) and miss the remainder of the 2025-26 season, the Sirens announced Wednesday morning.

Midway through the second period of New York’s TakeOver Tour matchup in Denver on Sunday, Girard attempted to deliver a hit on Minnesota Frost forward Britta Curl-Salem. Instead, the toe of his right foot caught the ice awkwardly, causing his knee to buckle. Girard collapsed in pain and immediately grabbed her right knee. He was taken out of the snow on a stretcher.

The Sirens lost to Minnesota 4–3 despite an inspired third period effort. New York has lost six of its last seven games (1-0-2-4) and sits in sixth place overall with 27 points (8-0-3-9) – four behind the PWHL’s final playoff spot.

The more significant loss, however, is that of Girard. The 27-year-old was having the best season of his career, scoring seven goals in 17 games. Kristina Kaltunkova, New York’s No. 1 overall pick in 2025, is the only Siren with more (11). Girard is 10th in league scoring after registering only five goals in 46 games in his first two PWHL seasons.

This marks Girard’s second season-ending knee injury since 2024. As a member of the Boston Fleet, he suffered a serious left knee injury on April 27, 2024, during the final game of the regular season; As a result she missed Boston’s race in Game 5 of the Walter Cup Finals. Girard has yet to appear in a post-season game during his three-year PWHL career.

New York’s troubles have been compounded by an upper-body injury to star rookie center Casey O’Brien. The Sirens listed O’Brien as day-to-day, but he did not travel with the team to Denver for Sunday’s match against Frost.

What’s next for Sirens after Girard’s season-ending injury?

The Sirens include former Scepters forward Claire DeGeorge

New York signed 26-year-old forward Claire DeGeorge to a standard player deal on Wednesday after she was released by the Toronto Raptors. Sceptres and Siren reportedly discussed a trade on Tuesday, but no deal was reached.

With Girard sidelined and O’Brien’s status uncertain, DeGeorge has added much-needed depth to New York’s forward group. The Sirens have no forwards on their reserve roster, leaving them with only 12 active forwards. That includes O’Brien, who remains day-to-day after taking a heavy hit from Ottawa Charge forward Kateryna Mrazova on March 8.

DeGeorge was not added to the active roster. Instead, the Sirens signed reserve defender Nicole Valario to a 10-day standard player deal to fill the open spot. Barring another move, New York will field just 11 forwards on Wednesday against the Vancouver GoldenEyes with O’Brien unavailable.

DeGeorge played a limited role with the Sceptres this season, appearing in 17 games as a fourth-line winger or extra skater. His 2:23 average time on ice (ATOI) ranks second behind any PWHL skater with at least five games played in 2025–26. He scored a season-high 9:57 in Toronto’s 2-0 win over Seattle Seahawks on Sunday.

He saw a larger fourth-line role last season with the Montreal Victoire, averaging 8:32 in 26 games. With the 2024 Walter Cup champion Frost, DeGeorge averaged over 10 minutes per game in 23 regular season contests and 10 playoff games.

DeGeorge will never replace Girard’s scoring touch. The Alaska native has not recorded a point yet this season; He has no goals and three assists in 66 career PWHL games. But despite his limited offensive range, DeGeorge is a capable pro-level fourth-liner, with a tall 5-foot-11 frame and the ability to play center.

This gives the Sirens some insurance in their forward group and should not stop general manager Pascal Doust from adding another addition before the PWHL roster freeze on March 31.

Siren can detect SDHL player pool

DeGeorge helps the Sirens’ bottom six, but the move does little to fill the offensive void left by Girard’s injury. If Doust wants to add a more impactful scoring threat, he may have to look abroad.

The Swedish Women’s Hockey League (SDHL) – widely considered the top professional women’s league in Europe – features several former PWHL skaters who will be eligible to sign immediately. As the SDHL playoffs continue, PWHL free agents from eliminated teams become potential targets.

Lulia lost in the semi-finals on Monday. Its roster includes a handful of PWHL talent – most notably former Charge forward Akane Shiga. Shiga scored two goals in 23 games with Ottawa in 2024 and finished seventh in the SDHL with 38 points (12 goals, 26 points) this season.

If SDE is removed before the roster freeze there may be some other interesting names available. SDE trails Frölunda 2-1 in the best-of-five semifinal series, with Game 4 scheduled for Wednesday.

SDE’s roster includes former Victoire forward Gabrielle David and former Sceptres forward Samantha Cogan. David is second in the SDHL in scoring with 42 points (19 goals, 23 assists); He tallied two goals and six points in 26 PWHL games, most recently appearing in 2024–25. Kogan is fifth in the SDHL with 39 points (16 goals, 23 assists) after scoring two goals with Toronto in 2024.

It’s unlikely that any of the above will match Girard’s scoring pace, but true needle-movers are hard to find on the open market at the end of the season. If Doust wants to take the Flyer further, SDHL may be his best option.

Adding a player would require the Sirens to remove someone from their active roster. New York is currently using two of its three reserved roster spots.

Do the Sirens have enough aggression for a playoff push?

New York Sirens forward Payton Lewis screens Minnesota Frost goalie Nicole Hensley during the third period in Denver.
Peyton Lewis – Courtesy of the PWHL

In all likelihood, the Lions will need to replace Girard’s scoring inside. Whether they have the scoring depth to do that is another question.

New York’s rookies have largely powered an offense that ranks fifth in the entire league in goals per game. Kaltounkova has a share of the PWHL lead in goals; Overall, first-year skaters scored 23 of New York’s 47 goals.

Star forward Sarah Fillear hasn’t enjoyed the same puck luck in 2025-26 after scoring 13 goals and 29 points in a stellar rookie campaign last season. With 10 games left in the regular season, Fillioner has three goals and a 4.7 shooting percentage.

Girard helped lead the Impact forward from 2024-25, joining Alex Carpenter, AB Roque and Jesse Aldridge – all of whom landed on different teams in the 2025 offseason. But with Girard’s season-ending injury and a banged-up O’Brien, New York is lacking some offensive punch, especially at the bottom of the lineup.

Without increased production from players like Patin Lewis, Kristin O’Neal and Fillioner, New York may find it difficult to keep up with Ottawa’s dangerous attack and surging Sceptres team.

Dejounte Murray’s injury status vs. Clippers

The New Orleans Pelicans face the Los Angeles Clippers on Wednesday night and Dejounte Murray is once again at the center of the injury report. He is listed as questionable due to the illness, making the Pelicans guard a focus as the team tries to win consecutive games. Murray’s situation is even more critical as he recently returned from a ruptured Achilles in late February, leading to his every appearance being closely monitored.

The Pelicans enter the matchup at 23-46. They are ranked 12th in the West and are trying to win games regularly. Meanwhile, the Clippers fall to 34-34. They are ranked eighth in the West and are aiming to break a two-match losing streak. They are also trying to stabilize their playoff position. Here’s everything we know from the injury report about Dejounte Murray and his game status against the Clippers.

Dejounte Murray has made an immediate impact following his return. In eight games, he is averaging 19.8 points, 5.5 rebounds and 5.3 assists in 27.0 minutes per game. He is shooting an efficient 54.7 percent from the field, 35.1 percent from three and 82.9 percent from the free-throw line.

His all-around production gives the Pelicans a reliable playmaker and scorer. Murray’s ability to control the pace, create opportunities and contribute defensively adds balance to the Pelicans’ lineup. When he is available, the offense operates with more structure and confidence.

Dejounte Murray’s injury status vs. Clippers

The Pelicans’ injury report makes Murray’s availability especially important because New Orleans is shorthanded. Trey Alexander and Hunter Dickinson are out on G League assignment, Bryce McGowens (toe) is out, and Josh Oduro is also unavailable.

On the other hand, the Clippers are struggling with key injuries. Kawhi Leonard (ankle) and Darius Garland (toe) are questionable, while Bradley Beal (hip), Benedict Mathurin (toe), and Yannick Konan Niederhauser (foot) are out.

The Pelicans are looking to string together wins, while Los Angeles aims to stop their decline and stay in the playoff race. So when it comes to whether Dejounte Murray is playing tonight against the Clippers, the answer is uncertain. His status will depend on pregame evaluation.

Is Ace Bailey playing tonight? jazz vs timberwolves injury report

The Utah Jazz face the Minnesota Timberwolves on Wednesday night and Ace Bailey is once again at the center of the injury report. He is listed as questionable under the concussion protocol, putting the Jazz rookie in focus as Utah looks to snap a three-game losing streak.

Looking for momentum heading into the season finale, the Jazz enter the matchup at 20-48, No. 14 in the West. Meanwhile, the Timberwolves, 42-27, come in at No. 6 in the West, aiming to make it back-to-back wins and solidify their playoff position. Here’s everything we know from the injury report about Ace Bailey and his game status against the Timberwolves.

Ace Bailey has been a consistent contributor for the Jazz throughout the season. In 59 games, he averaged 12.4 points, 4.0 rebounds and 1.7 assists in 26.7 minutes per game. He is shooting 44.5 percent from the field, 34.9 percent from three and 74.2 percent from the free-throw line. Even as a young unit, Bailey provides scoring balance and spacing on the wing. His ability to contribute on both ends provides Utah with additional structure, especially with several key players sidelined. When he’s available, the Jazz offense flows with more rhythm and flexibility.

Ace Bailey Injury Status vs. Timberwolves

The Jazz’s injury report makes Bailey’s availability even more important. Utah is already shorthanded. Lauri Markkanen (hip), Walker Kessler (shoulder), Jusuf Nurkic (nose), Jaren Jackson Jr. (knee), and Keyonte George (hamstring) are all out. John Conchar (calf) is questionable, while Blake Hinson is out on G League assignment.

Utah’s margin for error becomes smaller with each absence as the team tries to stop its skid and find stability late in the season. The Timberwolves, on the other hand, have not yet submitted their full injury report, but they have already confirmed that Anthony Edwards will miss 1-2 weeks, which will pose a challenge as Minnesota looks to build momentum with another win.

So when the question comes whether Ace Bailey is playing tonight against the Timberwolves, the answer is uncertain. His status will depend on pregame evaluation as the Jazz remain mindful of the need to compete.

Jonathan Kuminga vs. Mavericks injury report still ongoing

The Atlanta Hawks are riding a 10-game winning streak, and it’s safe to say that they are one of the hottest teams in the league right now. Their next match is against the Dallas Mavericks, who they have already defeated during the streak, but this time they will be on the road. The Mavericks beat the Cleveland Cavaliers just a few days ago, so no matter what their record says, they won’t be easily eliminated.

The Hawks have been fairly healthy during the streak, but Jonathan Kuminga has been in and out of the lineup due to a left knee problem. This is something that has been going on with the Hawks since before he was involved in the trade, and the team is managing it as best it can.

Here are their standings ahead of their game against the Mavericks.

Jonathan Kuminga’s injury status vs. Mavericks

Kuminga is listed as questionable against the Mavericks, meaning there’s a possibility he could suit up. Before his last game against the Orlando Magic, Kuminga was listed as questionable and was able to play. Earlier in the game, where they faced the Milwaukee Bucks, he was listed as questionable but was ruled out.

The Hawks will be trying to give Kuminga as much rest as possible this season so he can be healthy enough come the postseason.

So far, when Kuminga has been on the field for the Hawks, he has been productive and a big help to their second unit. His rebounding and ability to get to the foul line are keys to his success, and if he can continue to do that, he will continue to get significant minutes on the team.

The only thing is he has to stay healthy, which will go a long way in whatever decision the Hawks make regarding his future.

Is Michael Porter Jr. playing tonight? nets vs thunder injury report

The Brooklyn Nets will look to snap a four-game losing streak when they host the Oklahoma City Thunder on Tuesday. Leading scorer Michael Porter Jr. could return to their lineup for the match after a three-game absence.

Porter is questionable to play against Oklahoma City after missing Brooklyn’s last three games due to an ankle sprain. Head coach Jordi Fernandez said the star forward participated in his first on-court workout on Monday.

Brooklyn has built its offense around Porter’s off-ball movement and elite shotmaking. Porter is averaging a career-high 24.2 points on .463/.363/.859 shooting splits in 52 appearances this season. In the games he missed, the Nets are 3-13.

He has struggled to do anything offensively during his latest absence.

Brooklyn is averaging 96.3 points on 40.1 percent shooting over its last three games, which ranks last in the league in both categories. The rebuilding team has been without several other rotation pieces besides Porter in each loss.

With the Nets out of play-in contention, they have given extended minutes to two-way players Tyson Etienne, EJ Liddell, Chanie Johnson and 10-day signee Malachi Smith over the past week. Trade acquisitions Josh Minot and Ochai Agbaji have also played a heavy role.

Meanwhile, the Thunder have won twelve of their last 13 games as they look to lock down the NBA’s top seed for the second consecutive season. Oklahoma City will be on the second night of a back-to-back on Wednesday after defeating the Orlando Magic 113-108 on Tuesday at the Kia Center.

Ben Saraf (left foot soreness) is also doubtful for the Nets on Wednesday. Nolan Traore (right eye strain) and Terrence Mann (left eye strain) are probable.
