4 teams that would make a trade offer to the Celtics for Jaylen Brown

Is there some tension between Jaylen Brown and the Boston Celtics? Former NBA star and Hall of Famer Tracy McGrady recently said on his podcast that there were “deep issues” between Brown and the Celtics, although team president Brad Stevens and Brown himself denied this.

The team performed brilliantly in the first round of this season’s playoffs, taking a 3–1 series lead against the Philadelphia 76ers.

Is Jaylen Brown looking to move on? He described it as his most enjoyable season in the NBA. That’s saying something since they won the championship in 2024. But could his happiness have been the opportunity he got to be The Man in Boston for most of this year? Jayson Tatum was out until the beginning of March, and perhaps Brown really liked taking the reins of his team.

If that’s the case, he could get it on a full-time basis if the latest discussions are successful. This wouldn’t be the first time the Browns have heard their name in trade rumors. But Sports Illustrated’s Chris Mannix, speaking on NBC Sports, said it could get more serious this summer.

It has been a complicated relationship. He has to absorb trade rumors year after year. So if there is any tension, it is understandable. But if there was an opportunity for Boston to trade Jaylen Brown, it would probably be this offseason…

One team is going to get Giannis (Antetokounmpo), and that will probably leave five or six teams out there with young players, picks, draft capital and a whole bunch of stuff that they can potentially offer Boston for Jaylen Brown in a trade... They’re hearing reports of tension, and wondering if there’s an opportunity to take Jaylen Brown.

And you could honestly argue that acquiring Jaylen Brown is a better decision than acquiring Giannis Antetokounmpo (based on age and recent injury history).

4 teams named as contenders to trade Jaylen Brown this summer

Mannix then specifically names four teams that could fit the bill to shift from Giannis to Jaylen trade focus:

  • Miami Heat
  • Houston Rockets
  • Golden State Warriors
  • atlanta hawks

These are actually the teams that seem to be most linked to Giannis, along with the New York Knicks. Undoubtedly, Kevin Durant will loom large over Brown in Houston, although KD could be dealt. And in Golden State, as long as Steph Curry exists, no one else can ever be “the guy.”

Brown finished the regular season with the best numbers of his career as he was the only alpha player out-scoring Tatum for the first 4 1/2 months. He posted 28.7 points, 6.9 boards and 5.1 assists per game. He took more field goal attempts (21.7 per game) and free throw attempts (7.5 per game) than ever before in his career. And he led the entire NBA in two-point FG attempts, at 16.0 per night.

Again, much of this will be impacted next season with Tatum’s return. So between that and the so-called “deep issues” between him and the team that his friend T-Mac talked about, perhaps Brown would welcome a new destination.

Jaylen Brown meets Stephen A. Smith’s ‘Stay Quiet Unless You Want a Trade’ Hot Take Responds

It’s safe to say that this week’s bingo card features ESPN’s talking head Stephen A. There was no bad blood between Smith and Boston Celtics All-Star Jaylen Brown.

There is no doubt that Brown is one of the NBA’s elite players. And if the 2025-26 season were still a go, he would have silenced detractors by leading the Celtics to a 56-win season with an MVP-caliber performance while teammate Jayson Tatum missed much of the season recovering from a torn Achilles.

However, unlike Tatum, Brown has developed a reputation for honest opinions that sometimes rub fans the wrong way. One incident came shortly after the quarterfinal loss to the Philadelphia 76ers, when he claimed that this past season was the one he enjoyed the most during his 10-year career.

This comment received some blowback from Celtics and NBA fans as it came during a year when his team had blown a 3–1 lead in the opening round of the playoffs. Plus, it says a lot about the five-time All-Star that the year he was the undisputed No. 1 man on the team was his favorite. You’ll find ESPN mega-star Stephen A. on that list of confused viewers. Can add Smith.

During Wednesday Morning Edition take firstSmith took Brown to task for his comments and for being the top star on the first Celtics team to blow a 3–1 series lead in the playoffs. He suggested that his colleagues ignore Brown’s comments and ended everything by saying, “They need to shut up… unless you’re trying to do business.”

Jaylen Brown meets Stephen A. Smith asked to retire

Well, the opinion came back to Brown, and the thoughtful MVP candidate offered a response. “I’ll keep quiet.” [and] If you’re ‘cool’ then stop streaming and retire. Let’s give the people what they want,” he wrote in a response on X.

The streaming portion of Brown’s response was related to Smith’s suggestion that Tatum was on take first Instead of Brown’s podcast because he’s annoyed by his teammates’ comments about his favorite season.

Jaylen Brown lashes out at fans for criticizing 65-game rule

There has recently been discussion in the NBA of a 65-game rule that does not allow players to receive any awards at the end of the season if they do not meet the criteria. Cade Cunningham is expected to miss the rest of the regular season due to a bad lung, keeping him from making the All-NBA team despite the season he spent for the Detroit Pistons.

There are some who are in favor of the 65-game rule, while others believe the rule should be stricter. Jaylen Brown believes in the latter, but he also doesn’t believe people should back down from the former stance after Cunningham’s injury.

“When it first became the 65-game rule, everyone was in support of it,” Brown said on his Twitch stream. “At the time, people were talking about people who were load managing, and there were a lot of complaints about load management. There were a lot of complaints about superstars not playing. Now they move the norm to 65, and now it seems like the popular opinion is that it’s time to get rid of 65.”

Brown said he wished it were 62 games instead of 65, but he had no problem with the norm.

“It was the opposite of what I thought at first, that guys would play 40 or 50 games and then be drafted to All-NBA teams,” Brown said. They’ll play half the season, and their numbers will be better because they’ve only played half the games compared to someone who played 70, 68, or 72 games. That’s a big difference.”

The rules allow for awards to players who have played most of the season, but it is unfortunate when someone like Cunningham is lost late in the season and does not win the award he deserves. It’s uncertain whether the league will make any rule changes, but it wouldn’t be a surprise.

Jaylen Brown reveals blunt message for Jayson Tatum ahead of injury return

The fact that Jayson Tatum returned to the hardwood for the Boston Celtics even a year after rupturing his Achilles in the second round of the 2025 NBA Playoffs is such a huge win not only for the Celtics, but for the entire game. Tatum obviously isn’t fully back yet, but his mere presence makes the Celtics a more dangerous team than ever during the 2025-26 season.

There was a lot of hype surrounding Tatum’s return, as it had been rumored for almost the entire season that he might make his highly anticipated return sooner than many expected. But in his absence, Jaylen Brown has stepped up to become the team’s undisputed alpha, and he has more than risen to the occasion – averaging 28.9 points, 7.2 rebounds and 5.0 assists in 55 games before Tatum’s return.

With Tatum out for so long, he needed to get back on the same page to help propel the Celtics to bigger and better things. That’s exactly what they did with Brown and Tatum close together He has his eyes on the same prize.

“It was great. The initial conversation, having that communication. … It’s important to be able to get back on the same page, but it’s going to take more communication as the year goes on. Things change, we got adversity, ups and downs. We just let it be me and you,” Brown told Vince Carter and the rest of the NBC crew.

Both of them have the responsibility of leading the team as co-stars and they have done it in the past. But the Celtics star refused to be satisfied just because they won a title just two years ago.

“Our communication sets the tone for the rest of the team. We both have to step up if we want this to work,” Brown said.

How Paul Pierce is staying close with Jayson Tatum, Jaylen Brown

BOSTON — Boston Celtics legend Paul Pierce grew up in downtown Los Angeles and was even a Lakers fan as a kid, but he didn’t hesitate to call Beantown home on Sunday afternoons.

“It’s always good to be back here,” he said, standing at the TD Garden after the Causeway Classic, a fan event presented by Ticketmaster. “This is home, so to be able to give back to the fans every time I come out, for what they’ve been able to do to support me in my career, it means a lot. At times like these you remember what you left for this building, for the city. And so I enjoy it every time.”

Like Pierce, Boston wasn’t always home to Celtics stars Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown.

They were born elsewhere, yet unfamiliarity was not the only reason they were initially hesitant to embrace the city. Tatum, like Pierce, grew up a Lakers fan and dreamed that the Celtics’ hated rival would select him in the draft. Brown, meanwhile, was booed by Celtics fans on his draft night nearly 10 years ago for reasons beyond his control.

Despite these difficult introductions to Boston, Pierce has helped bridge the gap. As Tatum and Brown became superstars, the 2008 NBA Finals MVP supported them from afar and got to know them up close whenever he visited New England or when the Celtics traveled to LA.

“I’ve been happy for him since day one,” Pearce told ClutchPoints. “I’m always coming over and whenever they’re in Los Angeles, I try to watch their workouts… It’s just a brotherhood, no matter what the age difference is.”

Pierce is not the first Celtic to link up with the next generation of Green Teamers. He recalled that when he was playing more than a decade ago, Celtics legends like Bob Cousy and Jo Jo White would come to team practices. Those gestures did not go unnoticed, as Pierce said they were important to keeping the Celtics’ historic, winning culture alive.

“A lot of the former players were much older than me, but they always found a way to move forward and I try to do the same,” he said. “I try to maintain the heritage of Celtic culture by getting back into sports whenever I can.”

In addition to appearing in support of Tatum and Brown, Pierce has also spoken out. Whenever Boston’s dynamic duo draws the ire of the media — whether it’s in the form of arguments over fantasy chemistry issues or the constant comparison of the two stars — Pierce supports his guys.

“When I see things that I don’t think are right, I always call them out in the media because I feel like Boston players don’t get their due for the most part,” he revealed. “Brown not being in the Olympics, Tatum not getting minutes – I’m always advocating for them and rooting for them and fighting for them.”

Following their victory in a friendly 3-point contest on Garden Parquette as part of the Causeway Classic, Pierce will probably stick around to watch his pupils take the same floor in a few hours when they face the Minnesota Timberwolves on Sunday night. And it doesn’t matter if Pierce is sitting in a luxury suite or courtside, don’t be surprised if he gets to his feet to cheer on Tatum and Brown.

“I love seeing these guys succeed,” he said.

Jaylen Brown admits guarding Stephen Curry is the hardest because it’s extremely exhausting

The Boston Celtics defeated the Golden State Warriors 120-99 on Wednesday. Meaning, under normal circumstances, Jaylen Brown and Stephen Curry would be facing off. However, Curry is out with a knee injury.

Last December, Brown said Curry would have to work harder in head-to-head matchups.

Now in March, Brown made a pretty shocking statement about Curry’s safety, according to NBA TV. Basically, Brown says Curry is the hardest to control because, later on, he runs out of gas.

“The toughest player is probably Steph Curry because you just have to run a lot,” Brown said.

On Wednesday, Brown led the way with 32 points, 11 of 20 from the field, 9 of 9 at the free throw line, with six rebounds and five assists. As a result, the Celtics are now 46–23, the second-best record in the Eastern Conference.

Additionally, Boston has won seven of its last 10 games and is on a three-game winning streak. Meanwhile, the Warriors are 33-36, in 10th place in the Western Conference, and have lost 8 of their last 10 games.

Overall, Brown has played in 62 games and averaged 28.5 points, 7.8 rebounds and 5.1 assists per game. Curry has played 39 games, averaging 27.2 points and 4.8 assists per game.

They have lost 19 consecutive games.

Both Brown and Curry competed against each other for the first time during the 2022 NBA Finals. Ultimately, the Warriors defeated the Celtics in six games. Curry was the Finals MVP, averaging 31.0 points, 6.0 rebounds and 5.0 assists per game.

Brown averaged 23.5 points and 7.3 rebounds.

Jaylen Brown explains how astrology helps him lead Boston’s locker room

Jaylen Brown said his leadership approach with the Boston Celtics has taken an unconventional turn this season, incorporating astrology and numerology to better communicate with teammates.

Brown revealed the method after Boston’s 120-99 win over the Golden State Warriors on Wednesday night, a performance in which he led the team with 32 points while adding six rebounds, five assists and two steals. He shot a perfect 11 of 20 from the field and 9 of 9 from the free-throw line, and finished 1 of 4 from three-point range in 35 minutes.

Speaking after the game with CelticsBlog’s Noah Dalzell, Brown detailed how studying the personalities of teammates through astrology and numerology has helped him hone his communication style.

“I learned a lot about each of our guys, even down to liking astrology – everything. I learned the communication styles that work best for each person, and started using those when I talk to each person… I didn’t know that would work before the season started but that thing definitely works.”

Brown said he has gone so far as to memorize specific traits associated with teammates’ zodiac signs and numerology profiles.

“I remember like Neemias, he’s the year of the rabbit so his communication is different from D-White. D-White is the year of the dog so his communication style is different. Hugo is also a dog, Peyton is a tiger, JT is a tiger, Ron is a dragon, who is a dragon. Nicola he’s new to our team, he’s the year of the horse right now. Each of them have different communication styles and you can go into that like numerology as well.”

Jaylen Brown’s astrology, numerology outlook aligns with career year, Celtics’ success

He also explained how numerology influences his leadership approach.

“Sam is five, I’m five… so, different breakdowns and you can even go into star signs. Like JT, he’s Pisces, etc. I learned all different kinds of things, so I was able to communicate to people in different ways to help my leadership this year.”

This approach coincided with one of the most productive seasons of Brown’s career. Through 62 games, the 28-year-old has averaged 28.5 points, seven rebounds, 5.1 assists and one steal per contest, while shooting 48% from the field and 34.2% from three-point range in 34.1 minutes per game.

Brown’s performance has helped Boston achieve a 46–23 record and the No. 2 seed in the Eastern Conference standings. The Celtics have maintained that position despite star forward Jayson Tatum recently returning from an Achilles injury and playing only six games since his return.

As the regular season progressed, Brown’s combination of on-court production and off-court leadership has played a central role in Boston’s success. His willingness to explore unconventional ways to connect with teammates has become a defining element of his approach during a season in which the Celtics have remained one of the conference’s top contenders.

Jaylen Brown hints at secret post-NBA plans after big night

BOSTON – The city of Boston was the key to basketball for Celtics star Jaylen Brown. Since arriving in Beantown in 2016, he has consistently exceeded expectations, becoming a five-time All-Star, earning the NBA Finals MVP trophy, and most recently, moving into 10th on the Celtics’ all-time scoring list during a 120-99 win over the Golden State Warriors on Wednesday night. But just because Brown was introduced to Boston through basketball doesn’t mean he wants to be known for that alone.

The former UC Berkeley standout has used his platform to make a difference in New England’s largest city, hosting numerous community events giving his views on social issues, technology, the future and more. Brown’s life away from basketball has always been integral to him, so it makes sense that he might again emphasize non-basketball activities whenever he retires from the NBA.

“Part of me wants to say that when I’m done, you’ll never see me again,” Brown said with a slight smile in the locker room. “but who knows?”

What does retirement mean for Jaylen Brown and Jayson Tatum?

As Celtics legend Robert Parish strolled through TD Garden on Wednesday cheering on fans — promoting his new book and looking at two franchises he played for decades ago — Brown was reminded of his limited basketball career.

When Brown was asked if he would return to Boston from time to time, like Parrish, he responded, “Honestly, I can’t even think that far ahead.” “Obviously, Parish is a legend, so it’s good to see him out there. He looked good. Looks to be in pretty good shape. So it’s great to have him around.”

Fellow Celtics star Jayson Tatum, who tied a season-high with 24 points against the Warriors, was also looking to the future. And while he didn’t reveal anything definite in terms of post-playing plans, the six-time All-Star did mention how great it is to see the beloved Celtics come home to a standing ovation.

“It means everything,” he said. “It’s a really nice moment to see other people receive their flowers.”

When Tatum and Brown call it quits, there’s no doubt both stars’ jerseys will be retired and they’ll be placed among the stars in the rafters at TD Garden. However, it doesn’t look like that’s going to happen anytime soon, as Boston’s dynamic duo is focused on chasing another title with the Celtics at 46-23 before the 2026 NBA Playoffs. Additionally, neither Celtics star is even 30 years old and both of them have signed long contracts for at least three more seasons.

No matter what happens for Tatum and Brown over the next several years, they’ve earned the right to handle retirement how they want, whether that looks like headlining home games in Boston or stepping out of the public eye forever.

When Brown was asked if he would ‘go black’ after retiring, he replied, “I mean, it depends on what God has planned.” “But if you ask me now, I think it’s much more likely, let’s say.”

Jaylen Brown’s grateful response to franchise history vs. Warriors

BOSTON – When Boston Celtics star Jaylen Brown placed the Bill Russell Trophy above his head after being named the 2024 NBA Finals MVP, his place in franchise history was cemented. However, the all-time leading Celtic moved up to 10th on the Green team’s all-time scoring list during Wednesday night’s 120-99 win over the Golden State Warriors.

In the second quarter, Brown sank two free throws to surpass Celtics great and 1973 MVP Dave Cowens on the Giants leaderboard. The five-time All-Star now has 13,202 points in 10 seasons, trailing his fellow Celtics star Jayson Tatum by 705 points. The player right in front of the Celtics’ spectacular tandem is an almost legendary player: 11-time NBA champion Bill Russell.

“I’m very grateful,” Brown said in the locker room after his impressive milestone. “There are a lot of greats on that list that have made huge contributions to the Celtics as well as the game of basketball. So I’m very humbled and very grateful to be in the position I’m in.”

Brown didn’t miss a beat to start the game, hitting back-to-back jumpers against a woefully understaffed Warriors team at TD Garden. Although the Dubs – who were without four-time NBA champion Stephen Curry due to a knee injury – tried to make it a contest, Brown and Tatum always had offensive answers. They scored a combined 56 points in the blowout (game-high 32 points from Brown and 24 points from Tatum), while no Warrior scored more than 14 points.

Tatum said of Brown’s historic run, “It just shows the dedication and commitment he has to his craft and getting better every year.” “I’ve watched him grow and get better every year over the last nine years and become the player he is today. It’s great when you get rewarded for the work you’ve done.”

During Tatum’s 62-game absence this regular season, which was the result of a diligent rehab process from an Achilles rupture, Brown paved the way for the shorthanded C. He averaged career highs practically across the board and has continued to do so since Tatum’s return on March 6.

With both Tatum and Brown starting this season, the Celtics are 5-1 and have won three in a row. And it’s no surprise that the same dynamic duo that led Boston to a championship in 2024 is aiming to do so again in 2026.

Celtics head coach Joe Mazzulla said about working with Tatum and Brown, “You’re not only able to coach some of the best players in the game today, but you’re able to coach some of the best players of all time.” “so [there’s] “Just my gratitude for being able to see him.”

We need to remember what Jaylen Brown and Jayson Tatum accomplished

Even though the 46-23 Celtics are generally accustomed to winning, what Tatum and Brown have accomplished together is special. They would be the all-time scoring leaders of six other NBA franchises at this time and have more playoff wins than many teams.

Furthermore, they represent the Celtics well and are dedicated to Boston.

Tatum showed his commitment by attacking his difficult rehabilitation every day off the court this season, ultimately culminating in a victorious return that was well ahead of schedule. Brown, meanwhile, has further demonstrated his dedication on the court recently by having an MVP-caliber campaign when many pundits expected him to flop as part of a flawed roster.

“For Jaylen, I think the responsibility and ownership of being a Celtic and going after greatness is extremely important, it’s something he takes very seriously,” Mazzulla responded when asked about Brown entering the upper echelon of Celtics scorers. “The ability to make and participate in history is the stepping stone to [the franchise] Better than what you found.”

There’s no doubt that Tatum and Brown have changed the Celtics organization for the better, but that doesn’t mean they’re satisfied. They want more, and “more” will come in the form of a second championship ring this June.

“I felt like I could always be one of the top players in the world if given the opportunity, and I think I’ve got to show that this season,” Brown said after Monday night’s 41-point loss to the Phoenix Suns. “The focus now is on getting ready for the playoffs.”

Jaylen Brown’s honest reaction to gesture in 41-point game

BOSTON – “MVP, MVP, MVP.” That’s what Boston Celtics star Jaylen Brown heard as he approached the free throw line in the fourth quarter of the Green team’s 120-112 win over the Phoenix Suns on Monday night. Brown delighted the home crowd at TD Garden with a game-high 41 points – on 50% shooting – along with five assists and four rebounds.

The five-time All-Star played tirelessly against the Suns, constantly attacking the rim and forcing the referees to make call after call. This offensive aggression resulted in a career-high 21 free throws and allowed Brown to take all the MVP cheers while standing alone at the charity stripe.

“It’s pretty cool, not gonna lie,” Brown said of the MVP chants he received. “It’s just amazing to be at this point in my career and be able to get that love from the fans.”

Brown deserved every scream from the Boston faithful, as he recorded a game-high 18 points in the final frame alone. He was also responsible for the biggest momentum shift of the contest, which came when he cleanly stole the ball from Suns star Devin Booker, giving an easy lead to Celtics star Jayson Tatum on the other end with 3:05 remaining in the fourth quarter. This limited the Suns’ lead to just one and forced a timeout – they never recovered and the Celtics went on a 10–1 run to close out the win.

“I think even now over the last few games, I’ve adjusted my game, and I’m still getting better at my ability to make plays, seeing the floor, taking my time, all those things, still continuing to improve,” Brown said at the podium.

While Brown thoroughly enjoyed the love he earned from Celtics fans on Monday, he may have enjoyed even more the support he received on a cold Sunday morning on the streets of South Boston.

The longtime Celtics participated in Boston’s St. Patrick’s Day Parade for the first time and were surrounded by fans that exceeded the capacity of the TD Garden.

“I was at Southee’s yesterday and I got some MVP chants,” Brown recalled. “I think it might have been a little nicer.”

Although Brown is being serenaded with MVP chants throughout Beantown, that doesn’t mean he’ll be taking home the Michael Jordan Trophy. Reigning MVP Shai Gilgeous-Alexander is the favorite and his Oklahoma City Thunder have the advantage of having the best record in the NBA.

This will likely keep Brown from becoming the first Celtics MVP in four decades, yet he still has some history to chase. After lighting up the sun, the Georgia native is just 23 points away from entering the top-10 of the Celtics’ all-time scoring list. With a 23-point outing, he would be right behind his partner in offense Tatum on the historical leaderboard.

Tatum said of his on-court partnership with Brown, “We can count on each other in the biggest moments, the biggest games, the biggest situations, we’ve been through them all together.”

Following the 45-23 Celtics are the injury-hit Golden State Warriors, whom they host on Wednesday night during a primetime showdown. And while this contest likely won’t provide Brown with a big enough stage to further his MVP case, it will give him a chance to continue his stellar season and keep the Celtics in contention for the playoffs.

“I’m proud of my team, I’m proud of myself,” he said. “I always felt that if given the chance, I could become one of the top players in the world and I think I have to demonstrate that this season. Now my focus is on preparing for the playoffs.”

Did the Broncos show interest in AJ Brown before Jaylen Waddle?

On Tuesday, the Denver Broncos made a splash in the trade market by acquiring wide receiver Jaylen Waddle from the Miami Dolphins in exchange for hefty draft compensation that also included a first-round pick in this year’s draft. The move gives Bo Nix and company another explosive downfield weapon to pair next to Courtland Sutton, and signals the team’s full commitment to winning now after making an appearance in the AFC Championship Game this year.

Another big name that many think could be on the trade market this year is Philadelphia Eagles head AJ Brown, and now, more information is emerging from NFL insider Diana Russini of The Athletic about whether or not Denver expressed any interest in him before nixing the Waddle deal.

“Despite speculation, I’ve been told the Denver Broncos never expressed interest in trading for AJ Brown. They always had their eye on Jaylen Waddle. Sean Payton and Bo Nix are getting a new threat,” Russini, formerly of the X, told Twitter.

It remains to be seen if the Eagles will actually want to trade Brown after a tumultuous relationship with the receiver over the past few seasons, which culminated in the booing of the home fans when he dropped a key pass in the playoffs against the San Francisco 49ers last year.

Meanwhile, the Broncos’ offense, which couldn’t do anything in blizzard-like conditions against the New England Patriots in the AFC Championship Game, now has another proven downfield threat who is a nightmare for opposing defenses in open space.

Giving up multiple draft picks is no small price to pay, but if Waddle can stay healthy and produce, it could pay huge dividends for Denver as they try to make another deep playoff run next year.

Jaylen Brown’s funny quip on St. Patrick’s Day Parade experience

Jaylen Brown had another strong performance for the Boston Celtics as they defeated the Phoenix Suns 120-112 on Monday at the TD Garden.

He and Devin Booker were face to face, but the final decision was Brown’s. He scored 41 points on 10 of 20 shooting and added four rebounds and five assists. Brown made 21 attempts from the free-throw line, and nearly outscored the Suns on his own.

In a video posted by Daniel Donabedian of ClutchPoints, he acknowledged the “MVP” chants he received from the crowd. He also shared this similar experience When he went to South Boston for St. Patrick’s Day.

“I was at Southee’s last night or yesterday, and I got some ‘MVP’ chants. I think that might have been a little nice,” the five-time All-Star said.

Brown, 29, who grew up in Georgia, said he enjoyed celebrating the special day for the first time.

Brown said, “I didn’t know it was a big deal. It felt like there were a million people there. It was cold, it was early in the morning, but it felt like the whole town was drunk.”

“I had a good time, just going out and saying hello to people from Boston and things like that. It’s great. Plus, I have some Irish in my blood. It made it more surreal.”

The one-time Finals MVP has made himself a Beantown darling since the Celtics selected him as the third overall pick in 2016.

If he leads the Celtics to their second championship in three seasons, of course, the entire city of Boston will be even more intoxicated.

Jaylen Brown criticizes SGA for foul play after loss to Thunder

The Boston Celtics were in a primetime matchup with another top team in the Western Conference after losing to the San Antonio Spurs a few nights earlier. This time, they had the Oklahoma City Thunder, but they could not win this one either and lost 104–102.

Jaylen Brown played until the end in this game after being ejected against the Spurs for arguing with the referees about a foul call. After this game, he shared that he was mostly satisfied with how the game was called as he went to the free-throw line 14 times, but he felt he could have gone more in the fourth quarter after some hard drives.

Brown then said that maybe he should have flopped to get those calls, and although he didn’t mention Shai Gilgeous-Alexander’s name, some believe he might be calling the Thunder star.

Brown said, “We applaud the players for playing the game the right way, but we give an advantage to people who try to manipulate the game for their own advantage. I don’t think that’s basketball. All the false allegations… it’s anything to me.”

Brown wouldn’t be the first to say something about Gilgeous-Alexander’s ability to get to the free-throw line over the past two weeks. When the Thunder played the New York Knicks recently, Mike Brown had some things to say after the game about how it was handled.

“SGA, that’s a tough cover,” the coach said. “He does a very good job of convincing the refs, probably better than anyone in the league, that he’s getting hit.”

At this point, everything people are saying about Gilgeous-Alexander and dirty talk is not working. The referees are seeing something completely different, and it’s causing them to consistently go to the free-throw line.

Jaylen Brown looks back on Rajon Rondo vs. Thunder days

Jaylen Brown has expanded his game out of necessity this season, as it was his first season as the undisputed number one option for the Boston Celtics amid Jayson Tatum’s lengthy absence due to an Achilles tendon rupture. Brown has responded with his best season as a professional, and even after Tatum’s return, he remains the foundation and cornerstone of the Celtics, the guy they rely on to take them home on a nightly basis.

On Thursday night, Brown certainly did his part in putting the Celtics in position to win. He answered his team’s call amid the absence of Tatum and Derrick White in a heated battle against the Oklahoma City Thunder, scoring 34 points, six rebounds and seven assists. While a late-game call that went against the Celtics ultimately cost them a 104-102 loss, it shouldn’t take away from Brown’s efforts.

In fact, Brown has become so dangerous as a playmaker that he has become the first Celtics player since Rajon Rondo in 2014 to record at least seven assists in seven consecutive games, as reported by Taylor Snow of Celtics Stats.

Considering how Rondo is one of the best playmakers in Celtics franchise history, being mentioned in the same sentence as a passer is no mean feat for Brown.

Over the years, questions have been raised about Brown’s dribbling and playmaking. The Celtics star has faced criticism for not being able to dribble safely with his left hand and passing has never been one of the biggest strengths of his game.

But being the team’s top dog for most of the season, Brown has had to make the most of the defensive attention he gets on a nightly basis. And he is passing that exam with good marks.

Jayson Tatum blames ‘trigger happy’ refs for Jaylen Brown’s ejection

Jayson Tatum criticized officiating after the Boston Celtics’ 125-116 loss to the San Antonio Spurs on Tuesday night, calling the refs “trigger happy” after teammate Jaylen Brown was ejected early in the game.

Brown was ejected after receiving two technical fouls during the contest, limiting the Celtics star to just 15 minutes of action. Tatum, who recently returned from an Achilles tear last spring, addressed the situation after the game.

“I disagree with that. You know, the NBA makes a big deal about prime time games and stars playing and being available… He was definitely pushed and maybe the first tech was necessary, the emotions were too high.”

Tatum continued to raise questions over the timing of his ejection during the nationally televised matchup.

“National TV game, the two best teams in the league and you make a big deal about the stars playing and you’re happy to take someone out of the game. I disagree with that.”

Brown’s frustration began after a sequence in which he believed he was fouled out of bounds by Spurs guard Stephen Cassel. After the game, Brown confronted crew chief Tyler Ford by pointing at him, causing the first technical foul.

The Celtics guard remained visibly upset and argued with officials as teammates attempted to calm him down. Umpire Suyyash Mehta later assessed a second technical foul, resulting in Brown being sent off.

Brown finished the night with eight points, seven assists, two rebounds and one steal while making 4 of 8 shots from the field.

Ford later explained the officiating team’s decision in the league’s pool report.

“(The first technical was) for aggressively gesturing and using profanity and outrage without a call,” Ford said in the pool report, via NBA insider Brett Siegel for ClutchPoints. “(The second technical was called because) he aggressively approached a game official, pointing and using profanity.”

Tatum, playing his third game back from injury, led Boston with 24 points while adding five rebounds, two assists and two steals. The 27-year-old shot 10 of 24 from the field and 4 of 14 from three-point range in 27 minutes.

Despite Tatum’s efforts, Boston was unable to overcome Brown’s absence for most of the game. The loss dropped the Celtics to 43–22 on the season.

Boston will try to regroup on Thursday night when it concludes its three-game road trip against the Oklahoma City Thunder, who enter the matchup with a 51-15 record. Tipoff is scheduled for 9:30 pm ET on Prime Video.

Jaylen Brown beats NSFW early ejection against Spurs

The Boston Celtics lost their favorite player early against the San Antonio Spurs on Tuesday at Frost Bank Center when Jaylen Brown was assessed back-to-back technical fouls in the second quarter, leading to his automatic ejection.

Brown was trying to attack the lane when Stephen Cassel appeared to push him out of bounds. However, the referee did not blow the whistle, prompting Brown to complain strongly.

The Celtics were leading 51-49 when the 29-year-old Brown was thrown.

Moments later, he took to express your frustration.

“it S*** to be mine Talking about,” Brown wrote.

He finished with eight points, two rebounds, seven assists and one steal in 15 minutes.

This was an unfortunate incident, especially for fans who were excited to see stars from both teams compete. Without Brown, the Celtics were further handicapped, as they were already playing without Peyton Pritchard and Nikola Vucevic due to a neck injury and finger injury, respectively.

The Celtics ran out of steam in the fourth quarter and lost 125–116. Spurs recorded their ninth consecutive win at home.

Referees explain why Jaylen Brown was ejected during Spurs loss

Some would argue that officials robbed fans of an even more exciting matchup between the Boston Celtics and San Antonio Spurs. In the second quarter, Celtics star Jaylen Brown was ejected from a 125–116 loss to the Spurs after being whistled for two quick technical fouls. Brown was angry at the no-call, where he felt he was fouled out of bounds by Stephen Cassel.

Brown confronted crew chief Tyler Ford and was even pointing his finger at him. Ford then drew a technical foul on the Celtics star, angering Brown even more. Even though his teammates were trying to calm him down, his rant could not be contained, and it reached the point where umpire Suyyash Mehta felt as if ejection was required, courtesy of his second technicality.

After the game, Ford explained the Crew’s decision to take the Celtics star out of the game early.

“(The first technical was) for aggressively gesturing and using profanity and outrage without a call,” Ford said in the pool report, via NBA insider Brett Siegel for ClutchPoints. “(The second technical was called because) he aggressively approached a game official, pointing and using profanity.”

Many will debate whether Brown was correct on the play he blew the gasket. Still, as one of the Celtics’ stars and go-to options, Brown can’t afford to allow a no-call that literally takes him to the point of no return.

Superstars have responsibilities in the NBA, and Brown needs to know not to let his emotions get the better of him. Thankfully for the Celtics, this is a regular season game, but come playoff time, that may never happen.

Brown finished with eight points and seven assists in 15 minutes, before exiting the game.

Joe Mazzulla hits out at ref for Jaylen Brown ejection with high school story

The Boston Celtics had to play behind the eight-ball during the second half of Tuesday’s 125-116 loss to the San Antonio Spurs when Jaylen Brown was ejected early by officials after picking up two technical fouls in quick succession.

Brown was protesting a no-call that went against him when he turned the ball over on the sideline after being pushed by Stephen Castle, and he was so irate that the officials felt as if they had no choice but to discipline him.

The Celtics star expressed his displeasure to crew chief Tyler Ford, who was at least willing to listen to Brown’s protests. Ford then gave Brown a technical when he felt the Celtics star had crossed a line. But this did not stop Brown. He continued to pass Ford, after which umpire Suyyash Mehta felt he had to intervene and whistled Brown for another technical, sending him out of the game.

After the game, head coach Joe Mazzulla made fun of On the officials, in particular Ford, for the decision to eject Brown using the ridiculous high school analogy.

According to Noah Dalzell of CelticsBlog, Mazzulla said, “I give my high school principal a lot of credit. He had the guts to throw a student out. He didn’t leave it on the hall monitor.”

Celtics couldn’t keep up with Spurs’ firepower

Without Brown for the final 27 minutes of the game, it was always going to be difficult for the Celtics to keep up with the Spurs. Jayson Tatum has not yet reached full speed, pushing Derrick White into first-option duties. White made up for his troubles by scoring 34 to lead Boston to an unexpected victory over his former team.

Schedule difficulties continue for the Celtics; Their next game, which takes place on Thursday at 9:30 PM ET, will be against the defending champion Oklahoma City Thunder.

Jaylen Brown ejected from Spurs clash due to heated double technical

On Tuesday night, two of the NBA’s best teams faced off when the Boston Celtics visited the San Antonio Spurs. As expected, both teams brought their A-game, with the game tied 58-58 at the half. However, the odds may have been in the Spurs’ favor, especially when Jaylen Brown received an early trip to the locker room after picking up two technical fouls in quick succession in the second quarter.

With less than four minutes remaining in the period, Brown took the rock with a right elbow while navigating Stephen Cassel’s defense. However, the Celtics star proceeded to turn the ball over after losing space on the sideline. Enraged, Brown confronted crew chief Tyler Ford in animated fashion, yelling and pointing at him to try to make his case that, in fact, he was pushed by the Spurs second-year student.

After this, Ford gave Brown a technical briefing and blew the whistle on him. But the Celtics star did not create a ruckus to the point where umpire Suyyash Mehta felt that a technical glitch There wasn’t enough of that.

Before exiting the game, Brown had eight points, seven assists and one steal in 15 minutes of play. The Celtics will now be without Brown for the final 27 minutes of the contest, pushing Jayson Tatum into unquestioned first option duties.

Celtics look to continue punching up the weight class

Throughout the season, the Celtics have surprised the NBA world. Even without Tatum and after gutting the roster for luxury tax reasons, the Celtics remain one of the best teams in the league. So while losing Brown to ejection certainly hurts, this kind of adversity is nothing the team hasn’t seen in the past.

The Spurs are now clear favorites for the remaining games, but no one should be surprised if the Celtics pick up an emphatic win on the road.

Stephen A. Smith reveals how Jaylen Brown could steal MVP from Shai Gilgeous-Alexander

In the minds of many NBA fans and prognosticators, Oklahoma City Thunder star Shai Gilgeous-Alexander shut down the MVP conversation with a 129-126 win over the Denver Nuggets last night. Alexander rose up and hit a three-pointer that sealed the hard-fought victory, and broke Wilt Chamberlain’s record for consecutive 20-point games on the night. But, according to ESPN’s Stephen A. Smith believes the race is not over yet, as Celtics star Jaylen Brown still has a shot at a title.

He explained his theory on Tuesday Morning Edition take first.

“Jaylen Brown is one of the top two candidates for league MVP. We’ve got two road games this week in San Antonio and then against Shea Butters and Oklahoma City. Now, Jaylen Brown, that’s going to go a long way for us to see…You see, we don’t need to see Shea Butters. Because when you look at Shea Butters, he’s already the league MVP. He’s already an NBA Finals MVP. He’s already an NBA champion. Jaylen Brown is too, but Jaylen Brown was the number two option.

Smith continued, “Now you’ve got to understand, even though you’ve got Tatum back, he’s still feeling his way back. It’s still you, Jaylen Brown. Where are you going to get to San Antonio, when you get to Oklahoma City, what are you going to do?”

While Alexander has been the steady hand guiding the defending NBA Champions to another unprecedented regular season, Brown definitely has a claim to a shot at MVP after the season he had for the Celtics. Both Alexander and Brown are featured in ClutchPoints senior NBA reporter Brett Siegel’s latest “MVP Monday.” Alexander sits comfortably at the top of Seagull’s rankings while Brown sits at number five behind Cade Cunningham, Victor Wembanyama and Nikola Jokic.

In 57 games played, Brown is averaging 28.7 points, 7.2 rebounds and 5.1 assists per game with one steal. He is shooting 48% from the field and 34.8% from three-point range. He has been the catalyst for the Celtics’ success as they have remained in the conversation without Jayson Tatum for most of the season.

But it’s certainly hard to top the MVP moments provided by Alexander, especially when the Thunder have also dealt with injuries to key contributors. Still, the Thunder and Celtics are meeting on Thursday, and a lot of questions will be answered in a head-to-head matchup that could be an NBA Finals preview.

Jayson Tatum excited to play with Jaylen Brown, Peyton Pritchard again

Boston Celtics star Jayson Tatum had to wait nearly 300 days to play in an NBA game after rupturing his Achilles in May. So, it is safe to say that he is enjoying life on the court, especially since his remarkable comeback has seen C go 2-0 up.

On Sunday afternoon, Tatum and company picked up a 109-98 win over the Cleveland Cavaliers on the road. The six-time All-Star finished with 20 points, three rebounds and two assists in a nearly wire-to-wire win. And although Tatum missed seven of his nine attempts from deep, he nailed a wide-open triple with just 1:59 remaining in the fourth quarter to seal the Cavs’ first season sweep of the Celtics since the 2019-2020 campaign.

“I can’t stress it enough, I’m just happy to be here and playing with the guys on the team, competing, making plays, making mistakes,” Tatum told ESPN’s Jorge Sedano in an interview after the game.

While Tatum continued to embrace regular season momentum, fellow Celtics star Jaylen Brown recorded a team-high 23 points with nine rebounds and eight assists. Boston’s third-leading scorer on the day was point guard Peyton Pritchard, who scored 18 points off the bench while shooting 58.3% from the field.

These were pretty normal outings for Brown and Pritchard, so Tatum wasn’t surprised by what they were able to do with the contending Cavs.

Tatum described Brown and Pritchard, saying, “They’ve been playing great all season.” “It’s been fun to watch from the sideline, and, like I said, I’m happy to be out there playing with them.”

With Tatum sidelined, the Celtics managed to go an impressive 41-21 this season. They now improve to 43-21 overall and are benefiting from his arrival on the court and in the standings, as the Celtics are 2.5 games behind the first-place Detroit Pistons in the Eastern Conference.

However, the Pistons hold the tiebreaker over the Celtics. Also, the C’s may have to face the league’s two best teams in consecutive games. They are now in Texas to meet the San Antonio Spurs 47-17 on Tuesday night and will soon have to fly to Oklahoma to take on the defending champion Oklahoma City Thunder on Thursday evening.

Regardless of the final scores of those games, Tatum is glad to be back doing what he loves.

“Very happy to be here,” Tatum reiterated with a smile Sunday.

Wembanyama claims Jaylen Brown is ‘not even human’

Victor Wembanyama’s third NBA season has quickly turned into a statement campaign. After a string of injuries last season, the San Antonio Spurs finished 13th in the West with a 34–48 record, now competing at the top of the conference.

At its core is a two-pronged cheat code that has evolved into a legitimate MVP contender. And well, Boston Celtics’ Jaylen Brown has immense respect for Wembey, recently claiming he doesn’t count the French international as ‘human’.

“That guy Wembey is a problem, a big problem. When I say I’m the best two-way player in the league, it’s not counting Wembey… He’s not even human. I’m the best human player,” Brown said during a livestream on Twitch, according to a post on X by ClutchPoints.

Well, when one of the best players in the league has such praise to give, there is no doubt that Wembanyama is a real freak. Nearly two-thirds of the way through the 2025-26 season, the 22-year-old French phenom is averaging 23.8 points, 11.2 rebounds, 3 blocks and 2.9 assists per game, while shooting 51.1% from the field and 36.3% from three-point range. Despite his physical stature, Wembanyama’s ability to pass the ball is what really sets him apart. He is capable of shooting from anywhere and is only going to get better in the coming years, which is a scary prospect in itself.

Defensively, Wembanyama remains arguably the most destructive player in the league. Standing 7 feet 4 inches tall with an eight-foot wingspan, Wembanyama has the longest reach in the NBA, which he uses to his full potential to take on attackers. After winning Rookie of the Year in 2024 and earning All-Star recognition in 2025, he is now firmly established among the league’s elite class and is seen as a leading candidate to compete for the MVP award as well as Defensive Player of the Year.

Considering the impact he has already had on the game and the fact that he is just getting started, Brown’s comments seem completely spot on.

Jayson Tatum vs Jaylen Brown power struggle is not an issue

The Boston Celtics got a big boost on Thursday when it was revealed that Jayson Tatum will not only return from injury this season, but there is also a possibility that he will play in the team’s game against the Dallas Mavericks on Friday. However, one of the more surprising aspects of Jayson Tatum’s injury return is the suggestion that it will create a power struggle between him and Celtics co-star Jaylen Brown.

During a recent episode of ClutchScoops, ClutchPoints’ own NBA insider Brett Siegel explained why there will be no such power dynamic between Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown upon the former’s return to the Celtics lineup.

“I think there’s a common misconception about, ‘Oh, this is Jaylen Brown’s team now, and Jayson Tatum has to work his way back,'” Siegel explained. “I don’t think it’s a problem because Jayson Tatum is arguably the best plug-and-play star in this league given his skill-set. He’s not a guy that demands the ball a lot of times. Honestly, he was a very good facilitator last year. I think that was one of the most underrated aspects of his game.”

Siegel highlighted how Tatum has already deferred to Brown several times, particularly during the team’s 2024 championship run when Brown took home Finals MVP honors.

Brown is enjoying an MVP-caliber season in Tatum’s absence, and given that he is taking on a larger role, his increased usage was expected. With Tatum returning, some additional pressure has been taken off the Browns.

Both the players have proved that they can live with each other. Doubts over whether the pair could win together should have been put to rest after the 2024 title.

Carmelo Anthony demands Jayson Tatum sacrifice Jaylen Brown upon returning from injury

As Jayson Tatum prepares to return to the lineup for the Celtics, there is a growing group of NBA prognosticators who believe he will need to sideline Jaylen Brown for the team to be successful. Although the Celtics lost to the Hornets last night, they are still in second place in the Eastern Conference. They are 41-21 this year, two games ahead of the New York Knicks in the loss column.

on the latest episode of 7pm in BrooklynNBA Hall-of-Famer and nba on nbc Studio analyst Carmelo Anthony gave his opinion on the conversation surrounding Brown’s return, saying that Tatum needs to take a back seat to his All-Star teammate.

“For so long JB has sacrificed everything. Now it’s like JT, what are you going to sacrifice? But now I’ve held down the fort for you and the entire organization. JT has to be very mature about this situation. This is no ego, no pride. We got a chance to come back and win a championship. So I have to put my pride and ego aside for the next 3 months and let JB continue to steer the ship.”

Sports Illustrated’s Chris Mannix made a similar comment on Wednesday, saying, “I think [Jayson] Tatum knows that by coming back he is stepping into Jaylen Brown’s team. Brown is a top five, top six MVP candidate this year. He has put this team on his back aggressively. And Tatum will have to find a way to fit in.

In 55 appearances this season, Jaylen Brown has averaged 28.9 points, 7.2 rebounds and 5 assists per game, while also recording a steal per contest. He is shooting 48% from the field and 34.8% from beyond the arc. Brown has been a driving force behind the success of the Boston Celtics, helping keep them firmly in the championship conversation.

Still, if Jayson Tatum returns to full strength, the Celtics will be a formidable team regardless of who rules each game. Over 72 games during the regular season, Jayson Tatum averaged 26.8 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists per contest, while shooting 34% from three-point range. During that period, Tatum continued to develop into a high-level playmaker, someone who was able to generate scoring opportunities for his teammates while also being offensive for himself.

Tatum will certainly demonstrate his fit with the team when he returns to the lineup on Friday against the Mavericks.

JR Smith explains why Boston is Jaylen Brown’s team, not Jayson Tatum’s team

Boston Celtics All-Star Jaylen Brown has led his team to one of the best records in the NBA this season without Jayson Tatum, which for JR Smith means this is no longer Tatum’s team. With Tatum’s potential return to the Celtics, many wonder how Boston will adjust to Jason Tatum’s midseason debut.

while brown have been leaders For the Celtics this season, that’s been their title for Jaylen for years, Smith said, according to To The Baha.

“It’s always been his team. Jaylen Brown. He’s the leader. Isn’t he? First of all, he protects everybody. It’s always been his team. It’s his team,” Smith said. “To the players, I’m sure it’s their team; to everyone else in the media on the outside, it’s Jayson Tatum’s team. That’s the way they want to show it. Internally, it’s Jaylen Brown’s team.

“Jaylen Brown is the leader of that team. 100 percent on and off the court. Fact. I guarantee you he commands more film sessions, practices than JT. He’s the leader of that team.”

In Brown and Tatum’s second NBA Finals appearance in two years, Brown won the 2024 Finals MVP award after capturing his first title.

Tatum has to do it slowly work your way back Mannix said, according to FanDuel TV’s Run It Back, linking up with the Browns and the Celtics.

“I think [Jayson] Tatum knows that by coming back he is stepping into Jaylen Brown’s team. “Brown is a top-five, top-six MVP candidate this year,” Mannix said. “He’s put this team on his back offensively.” And Tatum will have to find a way to fit in.

In 54 games played, Brown is averaging 29 points per game, 7.1 rebounds and 5 assists per game with one steal. He is shooting 48% from the field and 34.9% from three-point range. He has been the catalyst for the Celtics’ success as they have kept themselves in the news as NBA title contenders.

Cade Cunningham is having arguably the best season of his career so far, as he leads the Detroit Pistons to the No. 1 seed in the Eastern Conference through 57 games. Shaquille O’Neal believes Cunningham deserves the MVP award because he is playing so well. Even higher than Boston Celtics star Jaylen Brown.

During a segment on “ESPN Tip-Off,” Shaq believed the 24-year-old guard is one of the most “complete” players in the league at the moment. The former veteran center turned NBA analyst likes the way Cunningham plays and believes he deserves the MVP trophy for helping make the Pistons a true contender once again.

“I watched [Cunningham] Play the next day, and he has a complete game,” Shack said. “He does everything right. More often than not, he gets everything right all the time. The way he plays, his speed, how he’s playing, and [the Pistons] Found that form. Kenny, you know what I’m talking about. Like, ‘We’re on a mission this year.’

The fifth-year veteran earned his second All-Star award this season, as he has been one of the most efficient players in the league so far. Through 51 games played, Cade Cunningham has averaged 25.4 points, 5.7 rebounds, 9.8 assists (career-high), and 1.5 steals (career-high) per contest, while shooting 45.9% from the floor and 33.9% from beyond the three-point line.

Cunningham and the Pistons reached the playoffs last season, but were ultimately eliminated by the New York Knicks in the first round. This was the first playoff appearance for the franchise since the 2018–19 season. This year, Detroit is playing like they have something to prove, and the performance of Cade Cunningham is playing a big factor in their success.

Could Jaylen Brown join France after Team USA contempt?

Team USA’s decision to leave Boston Celtics forward Jaylen Brown off the roster for the 2024 Paris Olympics became a hot-button topic. It was a curious call, to say the least, as Brown was coming off winning a championship with the Celtics and being named Finals MVP.

Even when Los Angeles Clippers forward Kawhi Leonard withdrew to focus on recovering from his knee problems, Team USA chose Celtics guard Derrick White over Brown as a replacement.

Brown did not hide his displeasure at being snubbed. Now, he has a good chance to make the roster and prove himself right. But is he still interested in playing for Team USA?

While discussing Team USA’s potential roster for the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics on “Run It Back”, former NBA player Chandler Parsons said that Brown should be included.

“Jaylen Brown is the biggest thing. They’ve got to find Jaylen Brown. Let go. Let go and put him on the team,” Parsons said.

However, he added that the 29-year-old Brown may only want to play for a different country out of spite.

Parsons said, “I think he’s the type of guy that’s going to get citizenship somewhere else and actually keep it with us.”

“Go to France. Do you have any French somewhere?” Co-host Michelle Beadle responded.

It is unknown whether Brown, who grew up in Marietta, Georgia, has any ancestry other than American, so it may be very difficult for him to obtain a different citizenship before the next Olympics.

If Brown ever surprisingly suits up for France, as Beadle has suggested, he would make Les Bleus even stronger, joining San Antonio Spurs center Victor Wembanyama, Minnesota Timberwolves center Rudy Gobert, Atlanta Hawks forward Zachary Rissacher and Washington Wizards center Alex Sarr.

France lost to Team USA in the gold medal match of the 2024 Paris Olympics.

Jaylen Brown, Derrick White find new secret double-double weapon

What has made the Boston Celtics such a strong team to face this season, despite the major roster overhaul last offseason with the absence of Jayson Tatum and the departures of Jrue Holiday, Kristaps Porzingis and Al Horford, has been the team’s consistent next-man-up mentality.

Earlier in the season, it was Josh Minot who stood out as a multi-positional defensive pest for the Celtics. There was a time when Jordan Walsh was turning everyone’s heads. Hugo Gonzalez is a spark-plug who experienced one of the most memorable clutch moments of the season for Boston.

But now, a different unknown player is moving to the Celtics in the form of Baylor Sheuerman. Sheuerman is emerging as a key guy for Boston, especially with the way he helps the team control the glass. On Tuesday night, in a blowout 97–81 win over the Phoenix Suns on the road, Scheuerman recorded another double-double, an 11-point, 11-rebound effort.

The Celtics have been dominant on the glass over the past month and Sheyerman has been a big reason for that. In fact, he now has three career point-rebound double-doubles, and all three have come within the last three weeks, as reported by Celtics Stats on X (formerly Twitter).

It certainly seems like the Celtics are producing quality contributors on the factory line, which is how they’ve gotten so many contributions from unexpected sources.

The Celtics have won nine of their last 10 games, and they now have the third-best record in the NBA despite Tatum’s absence. The great play of Jaylen Brown as well as the consistency of Derrick White and Peyton Pritchard have played a huge role in this, but head coach Joe Mazzulla has managed to squeeze a lot out of a core that wasn’t very inspiring early in the season.

To make matters better for the Celtics, Tatum is close to returning, which should lift the team even further.

Jaylen Brown gets injury report for Suns showdown

The Boston Celtics continue to defy expectations and head into their matchup against the Phoenix Suns after an impressive win over the rivals Los Angeles Lakers. Brown started and returned with 32 points, eight rebounds and seven assists, but suffered a minor knee injury, keeping him on the official injury report.

Brown is listed as questionable with a right knee injury according to the official injury report, as the Celtics continue to suffer multiple absences, including Jayson Tatum. Meanwhile, the Suns remain in a tough spot with several players sidelined, including Devin Booker and Dillon Brooks.

Jaylen Brown being listed as questionable introduces some uncertainty for a Celtics team that has relied heavily on his typical two-way production all season long. The All-Star wing is averaging 29.2 points, 7.0 rebounds and 4.9 assists per game, all career highs.

Two-way guard Max Shulga is unavailable due to a G League assignment, while rookie big Amari Williams is considered questionable on assignment. Despite this, the Celtics have won eight of their last nine games and are 37–19.

Phoenix scored just 77 points in their most recent loss to Portland, their lowest total since 2017. Grayson Allen is questionable managing knee and ankle injuries, while leading scorers Devin Booker (hip strain) and Dillon Brooks (left hand fracture) are out, removing more than 40 combined points per game from the lineup.

Jordan Goodwin has been ruled out with a calf strain, Haywood Highsmith is out with a knee injury, and Cole Anthony is unavailable while away from the team. Boston will be the clear favorite against a devastated Suns lineup, regardless of whether Brown suits up or not, which is a game-time decision.

Jaylen Brown reacts to LeBron James making the MVP case for him

LeBron James expressed strong support for Boston Celtics star Jaylen Brown as an NBA MVP candidate after the Celtics defeated the Los Angeles Lakers 111-89 on Sunday at Crypto.com Arena.

Brown led the way with 32 points, eight rebounds and seven assists in 36 minutes. He came close to a triple-double while guiding a Boston team that had been without Jayson Tatum due to a torn Achilles since Game 4 of the Eastern Conference Semifinals on May 12, 2025.

After the game, James questioned why Brown’s name is not mentioned more often in the MVP conversation. He pointed out that Brown is averaging around 30 points per game and suggested that the MVP discussion can sometimes turn into a popularity contest.

“With this whole MVP thing, I don’t understand why his name isn’t even being discussed,” James said of Brown after Sunday’s game. “Like, nobody gave him a chance to start the season. And what’s his average, 30? Just under 30? It’s a popularity contest sometimes, I’ll tell you.”

Brown later returned the praise while speaking to reporters after the game. He stressed that he was interested in both criticism and praise, although he presented his case for the award in his own way.

“I feel like I’m the best two-way player in the world,” Brown said. “I play on both ends of the court. I’m available night in and night out, which is hard to do. I’m a leader. I help lead my team, empower my team to come out and play with confidence, things that don’t always show up on analytics. And I’m a winner. I come out and try to win every night. So I’m grateful.”

He called it an honor to receive recognition from James, whom he described as arguably the best player of all time. Brown, who won Finals MVP in 2024 after averaging 20.8 points, 5.4 rebounds and 5.0 assists per game, said he feels grateful every day.

“It’s an honor to play in the Celtics-Lakers rivalry. It’s an honor to have LeBron, who is arguably the best player to play the game, give me a lot of praise. So, I’m just grateful. I wake up every morning and am grateful (and) humbled.”

Even without Tatum and after trading Jrue Holiday and Kristaps Porzingis in the offseason, Boston is 37-19 and in second place in the East. What many thought would be a reset has turned into a serious race for the conference crown.

Brown is a big reason for that. He ranks fourth in the NBA with 29.2 points per game, while he has career averages of 7.0 rebounds and 4.9 assists. Brown is fourth in the league in scoring this season.

Meanwhile, the last two MVP winners, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander of the Oklahoma City Thunder and Nikola Jokic of the Denver Nuggets, have largely controlled the MVP conversation.

There are plenty of games left, and the MVP race is almost certain. The door isn’t locked, but Brown still has ground to cover if he wants to kick it open.

Jaylen Brown’s MVP candidacy gets big support from LeBron James

On Sunday night in Los Angeles, the Boston Celtics silenced the home crowd with a dominant 111-89 win over the Lakers at Crypto.com Arena. The win improved Boston to 37–19, second in the East, and completed a 2–0 season sweep of Los Angeles.

With 32 points, eight rebounds, seven assists and three steals, Jaylen Brown carried Boston off his back as the team shot 48.2% from the floor. Through 51 games this season, Brown is averaging 29.2 points, 7.0 rebounds and 4.9 assists per game on 48.1% shooting, all career highs in scoring and rebounding.

After the game, four-time MVP LeBron James publicly endorsed Brown’s MVP candidacy.

“With this whole MVP thing, I don’t understand why there isn’t some discussion about his name,” James said. “Like, nobody gave him a chance to start the season. And what’s his average, 30? Just under 30? It’s a popularity contest sometimes, I’ll tell you.”

The Celtics have been without Jayson Tatum all season due to an Achilles tear, with Jrue Holiday, Al Horford and Kristaps Porzingis no longer on the roster. Tatum is not expected to return until at least March.

James praised Brown for providing stability to the revised roster as well as improving his own output.

“I think he tapped into the motivation of a lot of people who thought they were going to have a bad year,” James said. “The entire championship team has been revamped significantly, and he used it as motivation to keep them afloat. They’re playing great basketball, and it’s because of him and the rest of the guys. They’ve taken the next step.”

Brown has taken an expanded leadership role, helping keep Boston among the conference elite despite the overhaul. Additions like Nikola Vucevic have supported the rotation, but Brown’s production has driven the results.

Earlier this month, Brown and James were All-Star teammates on the USA Stripes team, where they revisited a rookie-year exchange in which James told Brown he would become an All-Star.

Their relationship previously gained attention during the 2024 Las Vegas Summer League, when Brown questioned Bronny James’ pro readiness.

James commented about Brown on Sunday, “We’ve had a very respectful relationship, other than that – he said about Brown in Summer League.” “But other than that, we’re absolutely fine.”

Brown later talked about Bronny in a social media post.

“Having your son in the NBA with you is a great accomplishment. …Bronny has all the tools to be successful. I look forward to watching his development.”

James said he and Brown “will be fine.”

“I think he went on social media and said something about it,” James said. “It’s all good, but Bronny still has a long way to go, but that’s another story. But baby, I mean, listen, JB is [great]. S—, he’s playing great basketball, man.”

Before Sunday’s matchup, former NBA star Tracy McGrady also insisted that as it is currently structured, the Celtics can reach the Eastern Conference Finals with Brown’s leadership at an MVP level. While this may seem bold on McGrady’s part, Boston remains competitive despite the roster changes. The Celtics are undoubtedly a threat in the East and are title contenders.

LeBron James Addresses Jaylen Brown’s Harsh View on Brown

Jaylen Brown delivered another outstanding performance to lead the Boston Celtics past the Los Angeles Lakers, 111-89, on Sunday at Crypto.com Arena.

Brown finished with a game-high 32 points, eight rebounds, seven assists and four steals as the Celtics improved to 37–19. The Lakers fell to 34–22.

LeBron James has praised Brown’s performance this season, taking over for Boston amid Jayson Tatum’s continued absence due to an Achilles injury.

“He’s using the motivation of a lot of people who are saying they’re going to have a bad year because obviously, with JT being out, they’re losing Jrue (Holliday), Al (Horford) gone, (Kristaps) Porzingis gone, their entire championship team is pretty much new. He’s using that as motivation to keep them afloat. They’re playing great basketball because of him and all the other guys. He’s taking the next step,” James said in a video posted. C.L.N.S.

James said he and Brown did it stay civilizedEven if the latter criticized the former’s son Bronny James last year.

“We’ve had a very respectful relationship, other than what he said about Bronny in Summer League. But other than that, we’re OK,” the four-time MVP said with a smile.

“It’s all good. Bronny still has a long way to go, but that’s a different story.”

While watching Summer League at courtside, Brown was caught on video saying, “I don’t think Bronny James is a professional.” It quickly went viral and, of course, James took notice.

The young James has been widely criticized, with many fans sharing Brown’s views. However, he has shown improvement in his second season.

Meanwhile, the elder James said Brown is playing “great basketball,” adding that the Celtics star is not being talked about enough for the MVP award.

Jaylen Brown is now considering legal action against Beverly Hills

Jaylen Brown’s All-Star weekend was marred by an incident at his home. The Boston Celtics All-Star hosted an event at their venue in Beverly Hills. However, police shut down the event after an erroneous report regarding the nature of the party. Brown expressed his dismay over the incident, even calling the Beverly Hills PD when he made the statement.

Now, Brown appears ready to take further action. In a recent interview with Endscape, the Celtics guard said he is considering taking legal action against the Beverly Hills PD after the incident that occurred during All-Star Weekend.

Brown wrote to Mark J. “I’m not one to chase legalities, but you’ve embarrassed my brand and my team. And I think that’s unfair,” he told Spears and Endscape. “And I feel hurt by the fact that you continued to lie in your apology. I will be back with my team this weekend and we will take a decision.”

The event, which was to promote Brown’s performance brand 741Performance, was shut down after an event permit for the said gathering was denied. However, the Celtics star reiterated that the event did not require a permit, as it was a private, invitation-only event rather than a public event. Brown expressed his disappointment after the incident, saying that the Beverly Hills PD lied about parts of the incident.

“I wanted to have fun and I felt like that was taken away from me,” Brown told reporters. “I was embarrassed. If it happened to me, I’m sure it happened to many people in the past. I look at it that way. There’s probably a group of people who don’t scream, preying on deaf fear, which is unfortunate. I’m not sure what the conclusion is. … Even in the statement he made, he included some things in the apology that were not true.

Brown was selected to his fifth All-Star Game this year with the Celtics. The star forward is averaging 29.3 points per game as he has led Boston to second place in the Eastern Conference. Even without Jayson Tatum, Boston is preparing for another postseason appearance.

Jaylen Brown pays tribute to Al Horford, Kristaps Porzingis

Boston Celtics star Jaylen Brown is grateful for everything he’s accomplished alongside Golden State Warriors centers Al Horford and Kristaps Porzingis. Less than two years ago, they captured an NBA championship together in dominant fashion, and the first-year Warriors both played major roles in that title run.

However, just because Brown enjoyed his time with Horford and Porzingis doesn’t mean he’s not going to go easy on them when the Celtics face the Dubs in San Francisco on Thursday night. Brown, who officially became a five-time All-Star last weekend, paced the Warriors with 23 points, 15 rebounds and 13 assists – enough for his third triple-double of the season.

His impressive performance helped the Celtics score 34 points and win 121–110 at Chase Center. After the double-digit win, he thanked and teased his former teammates via an NBA on Prime Video broadcast.

“Well, those guys helped us win a championship in 2024, so there’s no better way to honor them than giving them the belts tonight,” Brown said with a smile.

Despite a winning effort from the 2024 NBA Finals MVP, the Celtics couldn’t completely dismantle the Warriors on Thursday evening. Golden State cut Boston’s lead to 11 points in the fourth quarter and won the final frame 37–19.

However, time was not on Golden State’s side, and Porzingis’ seven points in the final 12 minutes of the game were not enough to complete the comeback. In his Warriors debut (and first game since January 7), the Latvian big man recorded 12 points and one block in 17 minutes off the bench.

As for the other ex-Celtics on the floor, Horford struggled offensively, missing eight of his 10 shots en route to a five-point outing. However, he was far from the worst Warriors center to take the court, as veteran big Draymond Green did not score in 18 minutes of play and posted the team’s worst plus-minus rating of minus-28.

Without real size and, most importantly, the presence of star shooting guard Stephen Curry due to a knee injury, the Warriors could not keep up with the overachieving Celtics. Brown and company will now look forward to their successful reunion in the Bay Area and look forward to Sunday afternoon’s showdown with the rival Los Angeles Lakers.

Jaylen Brown issues strong response to Beverly Hills apology

Jaylen Brown isn’t ready to turn the page just yet. Despite the Beverly Hills Police Department issuing a formal apology for shutting down his “741 Performance” brand launch during NBA All-Star Weekend, the Boston Celtics star forward made it clear that a public “sorry” doesn’t fix the finish line.

Brown took to social media to express his disappointment and tagged the department, highlighting the lasting impact of the incident.

“Thank you for the apology @BeverlyHillsPD but the damage is already done and I can’t recreate that moment,” Brown posted. “And what about lost resources/partners? In a moment that was supposed to be celebrated, you embarrassed me and my brand.”

The confrontation occurred on February 14, when officers arrived at the luxury retail corridor to disperse a crowd gathered for Brown’s event. The department cited safety concerns and a lack of proper permitting, but the move immediately drew backlash from fans and Brown’s camp, who saw it as overreach.

While the off-court drama was going on, the reigning Finals MVP tried to keep his focus on the hardwood. During the 2026 NBA All-Star Game in Los Angeles, the Boston Celtics cornerstone played a respectable line out, though the weekend distraction clearly loomed large. Brown finished the Mid-Season Classic with 18 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists, shooting 7 of 13 from the field in 22 minutes of action.

For Brown, it’s not just a matter of the party being over; It’s about business. The “741” brand represents their latest venture into the performance and wellness arena, and the all-star platform was supposed to be its huge coming-out party. Brown argues that by closing it, the city didn’t just destroy the atmosphere; They destroy potential revenue and partnership opportunities.

NBA All-Star weekend is usually a time for celebration, but for Jaylen Brown, it’s leaving a bitter taste. As the Celtics prepare for a deep playoff run, Brown intends to hold BHPD accountable for more than Saturday’s ruined night.

Jaylen Brown ‘outraged’ by Beverly Hills’ statement after event was canceled

Celtics All-Star Jaylen Brown criticized the Beverly Hills Police Department on Saturday for shutting down a panel he hosted during All-Star weekend. After Sunday’s game, according to ESPN’s Baxter Holmes, Brown dismissed a statement issued by BHPD during his post-game media availability.

“I’m hurt by the statement made by Beverly Hills, as if we applied for something and didn’t get it, and yet we got it done.” [and] We were disobedient,” Brown said after the NBA All-Star Game. “I know how to follow the rules. I’m smart enough to follow the guidelines. It seemed like no one wanted whatever we were doing to continue because out of everything we were doing, it seemed like I was the only one who got shut down.

Brown claims the event was quiet, filled with fans, social media influencers and NBA players like the Celtics All-Star forward.

Brown didn’t hold back when he called out his ex, the Beverly Hills Police, on Twitter.

He wrote, “Beverly Hills is so trash I’m offended, here was a great panel with a great guest about the future of the culture, people worked hard for this, how dare you guys.”

“For a little more context, police came to shut down Jaylen Brown’s panel in Beverly Hills around 7 p.m., claiming he didn’t file the proper permits,” Daniel Donabedian of ClutchPoints reported on X.

“I know I play for the Celtics, and I know we’re in L.A. But hey, I didn’t think y’all would do this to me,” Brown posted on social media via a video of him interacting with police who were dispatched to the event.

Celtics All-Star Jaylen Brown revealed a lot over All-Star weekend, including a potential career opportunity with the UFC, and how his program was unexpectedly shut down by Beverly Hills Police. According to Gary Washburn of The Boston Globe, the following statement regarding Brown’s event was released by BHPD.

“On Saturday, February 14, the Beverly Hills Police Department (BHPD) responded to an event taking place at a private residence in the city’s Trousdale neighborhood. An event permit had been applied for and denied by the city due to previous violations associated with events at the address,” the statement said.

“Despite the fact that the permit was denied, the organizers still decided to invite hundreds of guests, despite knowing that this was not allowed to happen. BHPD responded and shut down the unpermitted event.”

Brown disputed this account from the Beverly Hills Police Department and said he believed he was targeted by city police.

Anthony Edwards’ cryptic ‘home’ comment to Jaylen Johnson

On Sunday evening, the NBA All-Star Game took place at the Intuit Dome in Los Angeles and Minnesota Timberwolves star Anthony Edwards was part of the festivities. Edwards’ team won the game, and Starr won the All-Star Game MVP award for his efforts, outscoring opponents throughout the game.

One of Edwards’ teammates for the game was Atlanta Hawks forward Jalen Johnson, who caught hold of Edwards in a moment after the game. Went viral on social media.

In a leaked video, Edwards can be heard telling Johnson he “can’t wait to get home,” according to former playoff running back Jalen Jalen on Twitter, via Basket News.

Edwards is from the Atlanta area and could be seen pointing to his Atlanta-themed hat when his name was announced before the start of the All-Star Game.

Meanwhile, Johnson has established himself as the guy in Atlanta after the team transferred point guard Trae Young to the Washington Wizards earlier this year. He has used his combination of playmaking and athleticism to turn himself into one of the best young forwards in the game today.

While Edwards has seen some great success with the Timberwolves so far, there’s no doubt that things could become volatile if they have a playoff disappointment in 2026. Minnesota has made the Conference Finals in each of the last two seasons, but was uncompetitive in both of those series, first against the Dallas Mavericks in 2024 and then against the Oklahoma City Thunder in 2025.

If Edwards ever requests a trade or threatens to leave in free agency, the Hawks would be a landing spot that would likely be touted by fans and pundits alike due to his connection to the area, as well as his recent exchange with Johnson.

In any case, the Timberwolves next face off on Friday against the Dallas Mavericks.

Jaylen Brown reveals he has talked to Dana White

In a season where some thought the Boston Celtics would have a bad year, they are still one of the top teams in the league without their star player Jayson Tatum. One reason for this is the play of Jaylen Brown, who should be in MVP conversations for his current season.

The Browns have also found a way to take advantage of things outside of basketball this season, one of which is live streaming. Through this, he has shown people a different side of himself, while also enjoying other things in his life.

According to ESPN’s Brett Okamoto, during All-Star weekend, Brown was asked about the idea of getting into MMA, and apparently, he’s already talked to Dana White about the opportunity.

“To be honest, I’ve toyed with it and I’ve talked to a few people,” Brown said. “Maybe after certain parts of my career, I’d love to be involved in something like the UFC or boxing. I’ve talked to Dana White about some things, but as things progress, we’ll see. We’ll see.”

Brown has Muay Thai training, so he’s not too far from MMA. At some point it wouldn’t be a surprise if Brown finds his way into the ring in some capacity, whether it’s for one of his streams or an actual match.

At the moment, this may not be the best move during the season, and it’s clear he has bigger goals to achieve on the court. The Celtics are in good shape heading into the second half of the season, and they could make the playoffs.

There’s also a possibility that Jayson Tatum returns as he continues to check the boxes in his rehab. He recently took part in the Maine Celtics practice and it will be interesting to see what other steps he needs to take to return to action.

Jaylen Brown ‘trashes’ Beverly Hills after police shut down panel

Boston Celtics star Jaylen Brown is in Los Angeles this weekend to participate in All-Star Game festivities, which will take place at the Intuit Dome on Sunday evening. Brown was named an All-Star starter for his efforts so far this year, leading the Celtics to play well above expectations in the 2025-26 season.

On Saturday evening, Brown was hosting a panel in the Beverly Hills neighborhood, but things ended earlier than expected when the local police department came and shut down the event.

Brown then posted a strong message to police on X, formerly known as Twitter.

Brown has long been known for his work in the community and willingness to speak out on certain issues, and he certainly didn’t appreciate his show being shut down early over the weekend.

On Sunday, the star will have a chance to put his talents on full display as part of the NBA All-Star Game. Fans have long complained about the lack of effort from the players at this event, so it will be interesting to see how much intensity is in play this time.

The big game is scheduled to begin on Sunday at 5:00 PM ET from Los Angeles.

Jaylen Brown shares interesting Jayson Tatum update amid potential 2025-26 return

Boston Celtics All-Star Jaylen Brown gave an encouraging update on Jayson Tatum’s injury at All-Star Media Day. For many, the Celtics’ trade for Nikola Vucevic signaled Tatum’s return, or at least, signaled the organization’s desire to do so, while the All-Star forward has not made a final decision on whether or not he should return this season.

As for the Browns, Tatum is looking better as he reaches the final stages of recovery from the ruptured Achilles tendon he suffered last year in the Celtics’ second-round playoff series against the New York Knicks. According to ESPN’s Dave McMenamin, Brown addressed Tatum’s rehabilitation during his media availability on Saturday.

“In terms of what I’ve seen, he looks great,” Brown said, adding that Tatum’s potential return for this season is close.

While Tatum’s recent practice with the Celtics’ G League affiliate, the Maine Celtics, was an encouraging update, Jayson says it is not a guarantee he is returning this season, which is a decision that will likely be made in the coming weeks.

The Celtics added to their frontcourt at the deadline by trading Anfernee Simmons with the Bulls for Nikola Vucevic. Despite the guard leading the NBA in points off the bench, the Celtics added a big move to complement their All-Star tandem in Jaylen Brown and, hopefully, Jayson Tatum, amid his impending return.

According to NBA insider Marc Stein, the Celtics trading for Vucevic increases the front office’s confidence that Tatum will return before the end of the regular season.

Stein reported, “The Celtics’ decision to acquire Nikola Vucevic from Chicago before the trade deadline, in exchange for Anfernee Simmons’ expiring contract, was a clear indicator that Boston believes Tatum will indeed return for the postseason.”

The Celtics entered the All-Star break with the second-best record – 35–19 – in the Eastern Conference.

等級:A+

等級:A-

(Victor Wembanyama)
